I enjoyed seeing the pictures of the actual men, horses, equipment & techniques they used in those days that put a substance to the stores my Dad use to tell us kids about when he use to work up in the Millinocket Mountains with his Dad's farm horses, traveling up from Old Town, Me., in order to make ends meet to support the large family. The family had walked away from their potato farm in Caribou, Me. during the great depression. Thankyou !

David Smith

Awesome place. Lots of history.

This was a great learning opportunity about our logging past. Wish my grandfather was still around to tell stories about working in the woods in those days, working with the horses & the Lombard skidded. Want to take my grandkids there soon!

Went to the Fiddlers Fiddleheads festival in Patten, Maine and walked thru their old museum fronts and saw some pretty old machinery. Take a peek. Also snapped some pix of Mt. Katahdin while we were there.

We drove over 200 miles for the Founders Day advertised on the website. The museum was open but there was no blacksmithing, wood turning, bake sale, etc. VERY DISAPPOINTING! Museum has a treasure trove of logging artifacts, history, wonderful replicas and diaramas but we really wanted to see the woodturning and blacksmithing. Please update your website !

My husband loves wood. A major reason we came so far for vacation was this museum. The 25-minute black-and-white movie in the main office was both entertaining and educational.
