At the moment the firm has a rating of 4.6 stars over 5 and that score has been calculated on 40 reviews.

You must have seen that the average score it has is practically the best, and it is based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the assessment is very credible. If people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, is that it works.

As you know, we do not usually bother to put reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...

REVIEWS OF L.C. Bates Museum IN Maine

Unprofessional. On three occasions during the summer, we requested a museum tour. Each time it was scheduled and then cancelled by the director. This time it was scheduled and confirmed and, after driving two vans full of students (21 people) to the museum in the winter cold and ice, we found it locked. Upon calling, the director had gone home and forgotten the class was coming. We drove an hour for nothing. The management of this museum is UNPROFESSIONAL at the very least.

Awesome museum. Animals from all over the world. All kinds of great stuff. The kids lived it!

A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Several rooms full of taxidermy. Fish room, mammal room, bird room, and more. Admission was $6 for two people. You can view at your own pace but staff is available for questions or a brief tour. The last room is a huge geology exhibit. It’s really hard to find good information about this place online, but it’s definitely worth the drive if you’re within an hour. golden eagle, penguins, sloth, Maine caribou, puffer fish, great horned owl, crocodile, flying squirrel. I could post a better picture but I don’t want to give away the surprises.

Great little museum in the state of Maine. I have fond memories of going here as a kid I was impressed with it then as I am now.

Carlton Wilcox

It is a very nice throwback natural history museum located in a very unusual place - rural Maine. Lots of taxidermy of local and exotic animals, sea shells, rocks, minerals.

A museum within a museum that is a hidden gem in Maine. An emporium of nature is housed in this quaint location. On your own & family friendly... plan on at least half a day of gazing on the wonders of nature. (As a science-loving kid I would have never wanted to leave.)

Very interesting historical record of our environment and fellow life-forms. A must for anyone who has any interest in nature's creatures and their beauty. Beautiful location with great picnic facilities behind the museum. Bring your lunch with you and enjoy!

Fernando Nasc

A lovely old fashioned museum with a peculiar collection of collections.

Katie Watkins

I love the school field trips here. My favorite is exploring the pond!

A somewhat interesting, eclectic museum with a number of random collections on the declining edge of their life. On our day there we were the only one attending and the attendant must have been really bored. Chated followed us around making sure we saw everything. The grounds and surrounding area are good for a walk and picnic. At least the grand kids enjoyed it.
