Good place for children, but needs be be updated for sure!

My son has fun here. We were gifted a pass, and have used it a couple times. It is a nice place, some of the toys show their age and could use updating, but we like it and will go again.

Love this place! Love bringing my little ones here! If you live in the Augusta-area you have to check it out. Really looking forward to the summer camps they offer!

Smaller then other children's museum, but lots of activities squeezed in. I like that I can always see my kids

We had my Granddaughters Birthday Party here and all the kids had a wonderful time and the room was decorated with balloons and paper products and was all set up when we got here and they even cleaned up after the party. I highly recommend this Museum especially for parties. Thank you Children's Discovery Museum in Augusta Maine. It was a terrific day for us all...

Kind of worn down and not enough parental supervision. When I went, several parents were deep in their smartphones ignoring their misbehaving kids. Not exactly the museum's fault but unfortunately the clientele affected the atmosphere. Place has some potential but I'm from out of town and wouldn't drive out again.

Small and outdated. Everything is broken

My son loved visiting this place! We stayed for a few hours and he enjoyed the whole time. The touch tank feeding time was neat and staff was friendly. Seemed like there could have been a little more educational content as most applications were physics and pretend based. Movies to help younger children understand concepts could be helpful. Overall great place for kids to 'play'

If I was an extremely wealthy man. . . I may have felt less ripped off, but ripped off nonetheless. I am not extremely wealthy though, it cost 24 dollars to take my wife, 2 year old daughter and 12 month old son. There was very little for a 12 month old to do, actually, due to all the small things on the floor it was really quite a hassle. There were a lot of toys there that my 2 year old enjoyed, 4/5ths of it were just regular toys though, like she has at home. The touch tank aquarium had clams in it. That's not so cool. A lobster that the worker was scared to touch. Was it worth 24 dollars for the 30 minutes we meandered around? Definitely not. Would it have been worth 12? Maybe. Would I recommend it to a friend? Not if I wanted to keep that friend.

Great place for your kids and lonely people

Friendly staff interaction is plentiful you find yourself playing at some point without your kids lol

Not the biggest kids play place around, but with the discount from our library (Bailey) it wasn't too bad cost wise ($3/each). Good place to go on a rainy day or to get out of the heat for a while in the AC.

So dirty and run down! The place is so rundown with most things missing pieces. The staff aren't friendly at all. Way overpriced for what you actually get. Spend less money and have more fun at one of the indoor playgrounds in the area!

Great for the kids though it was 6 dollars per person. This place would be great for familiarizing kids with a lot of things.

My one year old really enjoyed herself here! Such a great place for young ones.

Worst place I've ever been too! They have a rude teenager at the door no management on duty. Kids were left unsupervised with no adults because of the outrageous $6 per person fee! I don't mind paying for my children but to expect a full fee per parent and an 18 yr old sibling is a bit much. We drove 45 mins to spend a couple of hours with our 5 year old and had to leave with him in tears. It could have been an easy fix but like I mentioned before a rude teenager on duty and no management. Don't waste your time this is not a fun or professional environment.

Tatiana Santos

It was nice for the kids. Smaller than I thought but lots of small activities.

Maine Roads

Legos, slides, instruments, giant chair, salt water tank, tree house, crafty station and more. It's a good place to spend a couple hours catching up with friends while the kids play. We bought the yearly pass so we can just pop in for a short time as a reward whenever.

A little small and a little dirty, but a fun little place for the kids

A great place to learn and explore with your little ones. My older children even love going to interact with their 3 yr old sister.

Arielle Holmes

Not worth the money! The place needs an update, and new/more exciting things if they are going to charge the amount they do. Pretty disappointed.

We just had a great time checking out the Augusta Maine Children's Discovery Museum. A great place for younger children too learn, play, and interact with others kids. For a small location they really have alot to do and see. I'd recommend this place too anyone with younger children and hope you all enjoy it as much as we did. Thanks for having us and we will see you again!!

It would be better if the grown ups didn't have to pay full price. The kids had a blast. They would have stayed all day if we let them.

Great place for kids to explore

Wow such a dissapointing place. They make you pay so much for very low quality play. Things are worn and there are lots of stuffed animals which screams eww bugs or illness. Not very exciting. Small and not worth a second visit. Dirty.

It was one room over crowed with toys way over priced for such a limited experience

My kid love this place, they have lots of stuff & their evening classes are also fun to attend.

It's looking a little rough, but there's a lot of things to do for young people. It's a very good place to let a little one get some running around done and full of cool learning toys, including a (non operating) small bulldozer that my three-year-old refused to leave alone and a train set with lights you can play with.

Cristian Randeau

Needed a quick trip to get some energy out of my 7 year old. I was expecting a little more than what was available. For 6 dollars a person (parents pay too) I guess I thought I was going to a larger place. Some things that I wish I would have read before I drove the half hour. 1. This is in a strip mall for size comparison purposes. This is not a building. 2. The touch tank isn't always available. 3. Everything is self lead. You walk around to different booths and areas. Even the art area had no direction. 4. There are some great concepts, but not much works. Buttons that didn't work, a mock store area without a working cash register. Etc. I would come back to allow my child to play again but I wouldn't have this as a must-see destination on our tour of Maine again.

The kids will love this place. Nice interactive play areas. Helps to develop young imaginations. Nice place.

Nice place to visit

Stephanie Harmon

Play space not museum for sure. The space had some fun stuff for kids to explore, but way over priced. The Rumpus Room in Brunswick is a better deal and much cleaner. Not worth the $$ and adults paying to get in? When I visited, there was a family with a developmentally delayed adult there to visit the space. Seemed a bit inappropriate to have an adult in a children's play space.

Took my son here to kill a little time that we had, but we ended up staying longer. It's small but we had so much fun. The bank drive thru canister and tube was a lot of fun.

Lauren Busby

Good place for a rainy day with little ones. It's small which was nice. We could let the kiddos run around and still see them.

My kid loves it here. Three years old. Plays for hours and doesn't want to leave. Worth the money, and conveniently located. PLUS do your grocery shopping right next door at Harvest Time when you're done.
