REVIEWS OF New Orleans Museum of Art IN Louisiana

Yvonne Younis

What a beautiful museum. The staff were very kind a helpful. We were walking around and saw this museum. The staff gave us tickets to go to other museums for free which was nice. the location is beautiful. it's not a very large museum but the building is historical.

cool cutie

Nice environment, beautiful sculpture garden. There is a need to update the website. Also seems unfair that the Wednesday free day is only available to residents. We don't do that where we are from, we just ask for a donation, then most people give anyway.

Lucien Mcbride

We got there just ahead of 4 school buses on their field trip to the museum of art. We traveled with our daughter who had majored in Art at university so we enjoyed a bit more insight into some of the more famous art pieces on display. In addition to the interior art, the site featured an extensive and well designed statue garden. Certainly worth the bus ride from our hotel on Rampart St in the French Quarter.

Cassie Ransleben

My sister and I found a deal on Groupon and really enjoyed our time there. We could have easily spent a couple of hours there. The gift shop had some neat finds so make sure you visit it! We will definitely be back. Note: parking is along the road in front of the museum and it’s free!

Evelyn Calderon

Beautiful! So many cultures represented in one building

B. SANDERS

We are locals and enjoy rediscovering our city. THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE NOLA. LUV IT!!!

Cee Brizco

great museum, particularly enjoyed the african art collection! location is spectacular, built near swan lake in beautiful city park.

Sky Chase

Called while there $15.00 each for adult and child to enter. Insane! Take your kids to the park for free. Military discount $12.00 vs $15.00. Inflation. Why are parents paying crazy prices for kids to play these days? It shouldn't be more than $5 per child and no charge to adults. New Orleans is a big money hungry scam. PASS!

Sara Register

Some really great pieces here; I was impressed! Not so huge that I felt like I couldn't see everything. If you love art, make sure to stop here. You can take the streetcar right up to City park and it's a short walk to the museum.

Brian Manning-Gorremans

Cafe NOMA has the best Irish Coffee in New Orleans, the nicest staff, and embodies serenity with it's incredible view of the newly expanded Besthoff Sculpture Garden. You don't even have to go into the museum (although why wouldn't you?) it's open to the public.

Katelyn White

Great variety in the collection, well curated. I actually really enjoyed the local art and the decorative furniture collection, appropriate for the area and something you don't often find in gallery settings.

Just Dad

Absolutely a beautiful place! We rented bikes and truly enjoyed it!

Delaney Brown

Beautiful museum! The best part is the sculpture garden.

Chasing Wildgusts

Fantastic museum. Loving the temporary bead work exhibit of Louisiana native artist in collaboration with Haitian bead artists! The Oceanic art and African art area were also a highlight for me as well. And an Andy Warhol and a couple of Picasso pieces.

H J

A beautiful building housing lovely exhibits. Spanning 3 floors and a sculpture park, this gallery has something for everyone. Ancient antiquities and modern interpretations fill the rooms providing learning and discussion opportunities everywhere. Make sure you have enough time to do it justice, each floor can take you 60-90 minutes to really review all the exhibits. Children are welcomed although there is nothing specific for them. The museum is surrounded by the wonderful city park which has a massive lake. So enough there to spend a whole day.

freeborn odiboh

New Orleans was great. An atmosphere of conviviality like an African city. It is quite vibrant.

Michael Sciberus

Lovely building, terrific collection of art.

C. W. dalrymple

Beautifully curated and thoughtful exhibitions. Always a great gem to visit and the sculpture garden outside is incredible as well as free to the public.

Miriam Schaefer

Most disrespectful staff, not just today when I walked inside with a question, also the previous Friday when me and my friends got reprimanded numerous times for no other reason than bullying. Will not go back

Hannah Gibbs

It has a great collection of a wide variety art- I loved the contemporary and modern collections. I also loved the sculpture garden outside! A great place to spend an afternoon, and even meet and talk to new friends.

Thrusha S

I love, love, did I say love visiting this museum. There are three floors of beautiful history.

joshua collins

Nice place to go for a walk, there is plenty of peaceful corners with work's of art along the way.

Brittany Flokstra

Nice collection. Small enough to see everything in 1-1.5 hours. The sculpture garden is HUGE and will take MUCH more time than the inside. Worth it. Good iced coffee in their cafe and their Museum Store has a large section for kids. Here are some of my favorite pics:

Alessandra Cusimano

Always a great experience visiting NOMA. One of my favorite places to spend the day. The new photography exhibit is amazing! The regular collection has a great blend of classic and modern art.

elijah park

A truly awe-inspiring collection. If you appreciate art NOMA is a must!

Badax

We only stopped for lunch. The food is good, but not worth the upscale prices.

Jacqueline Bush

Wednesday is local day free admission and the new sculpture garden is well done

Ty B

First time here. I was hoping they would have had more African American art.

Kaushik Londhe

A must see place in NOLA. May not seem big but can easily take half a day to see everything.

Kandice Cole

Beautiful museum situated in a gorgeous park. Staff are amazing and exhibits are nicely curated.

Lissette Q.

Love it!! Every year that I come to NOLA I always visit.

Tyler Breaux

Great art museum and doable in a day. Check out the outdoor sculpture gardens and then get a an iced tea or Arnold Palmer from the cafe. Start with the third floor of the museum and work your way down.

Sonnet Luby

This place has beautiful artwork, as well as an amazing sculpture garden outside. The people working here are so helpful and nice, which made my experience so much better.

Gregory Hamilton

AC and sometimes music. Great Art

Lisa Salas

Nice walking trails. Clean & well-kept. Gorgeous vegetation!

Yasir Alruwaili

Nice place. It has beautiful pictures and statues from certain cultures like American, European, and Japanese. It has a coffee shop and a gift store. Free parking anywhere in the city park. There is no special parking lot. Kid-friendly and handicap accessible. The price is ok. Discount for students, children, seniors, and locals.

akia smith

I had the worst experience here. We arrived there at 9:15. Our appointment was supposed to be at 9:30. When we got to the door another school was there first (predominately white) and was allowed to go in before us. It was raining outside and they had us stand there until 10:00. We finally got in the museum and we were walking pass a group of (predominantly white) students that were looking at art on the wall. We all said “excuse us” and the lady worker said “we could’ve walked around but ok”. Which was very rude and racist. Although the art work in the museum was very beautiful and nice, I wouldn’t go back there because of how I was poorly treated.

Marlene Mills

Wednesday's are free for La. residents. Enjoyed the morning with dad checking out Oceanic Art, African Art, Indian and Chinese Art. Most interesting for me was Contemporary Art.

Kristophor Bradley

Exquisite. Loved the place! Lots to see. Something for everyone. Bring your kids

Daniel Chamberlin

Really well curated collection of art and objects. Went to see the Orleans show (no pictures allowed), and it was excellent. Great job to the curatorial and preparations staff! The rest of the museum is very well presented.

Adam Chapman

An absolute trove of cool, calm, and explainable art inside of a city known for anything but. Curated galleries that put the art before the artist. Big names and unknowns brought together in a balanced and confident manner.

Desserae Milner

Very interesting artifacts! Something for everyone is available. The cafe has GREAT food! Its located at the back of City Park. Definitely an all day event and can re-enter same day as long as you have your sticker on.

Abi Salami

Lovely art! Wish the lighting was better in some rooms. Great collection of works from different eras. Bring a light jacket, it's freezing on the inside.

Josephine Fleming

Allocated 3hours to visit and easily could have spent more time and will pay a return visit. If you only have a couple of days to see the sites I would certainly put this near the top of your must see cultural attractions. A very nice collection and knowing the history of hurricanes, I am very appreciative that they are open and sharing their collection. Great range of artists and styles and I had a very leisurely visit. Couple this with the sculpture park and you will have a very enjoyable day, of course throw in a unique lunch along the way and cap it off with dinner in the French Quarter. Enjoy!

Ross Kelley

Great collection and amazing grounds but I can't give 5 stars because almost the whole 1st floor (includinf both circulating exhibits) was closed for installation. I'm certain that when fully accessible, this would warrant a full recommendation.

Sandy Alletto

I had a wonderful time, the exhibit was great and there were many volunteers to give a tour

lillian doyle

I have never been to a museumI enjoyed walking and looking at all the art that they had their I would not mind going to see it again

Kelsie Tully

There was so much beat stuff to see, from all different eras. From paintings to sculptures, it's really cool to see the different works of art. Be sure to check out the cabin.

Jessica Sepulveda

Don’t let this museum’s small size fool you: it’s full of wonderful works by Pollack, Kandinsky, and Rothenberg. Staff was so hospitable and friendly. Give yourself about 2 hours to explore it fully. Then make your way to the whimsical sculpture gardens outside. The park surrounding it is lovely so don’t pass that up either.

Hamza Habib

The place was very good and the staff was very helpful. This place has a lot of history and I would would recommend people to go there.

April Allen

Beautifully curated exhibits. Great place for an air conditioned stroll!

Paul Hudson

Very diverse gallery. Their best feature is the expansive sculpture garden. Beautifully landscaped with many water features. Best viewed early morning or late afternoon because of lighting for photo ops.

Melissa Padilla Wegner

Beautiful building in City Park. Large selection of displays. Great restaurant on location. Easy-ish parking.

Jody‐Ann White

Was a really nice experience. They have some very interesting pieces on display. I especially loved the African influenced art section.

Samantha Gwinn

Great exhibits and teens can get in for free. Did not know this before coming but great place to take students.

Matthew Dixon

Dont expect the Met and you should have a great time. Love locals get in free day and combining the Museam with a visit to the park.

Liese A Ricketts

A small museum with some beautiful exhibits.

Tessa Arnold

Who doesn't love art? And in beautiful City Park! It's just great

MARY JANE Kearney

Wednesdays are free days for locals at the art museum. It's a good way to while away a wet afternoon with a kid during summer break.

Tracey Furdge-sawyer

Saleh Babazadeh

Great museum in New Orleans. Combination of contemporary art

J Gaskin

Volunteer was amazing. Would return

Emily Mcentire

This place was one for the books especially if your someone like me who enjoys learning about serial killers n such. It’s a small museum but for only $15 per person I definitely recommend!

Kiara Arriaga

Beautiful artwork! They have a tiny painting there that actually looks like a photograph! Even the guards that walk around the museum have love for the art work there!

Diane Micetich

I've been to many museums around the world and this one impressed me so much. They had a little bit of everything and the very best of the art world. Can't say enough about it. A must see on New Orleans!

Steve Replogle

I was surprised that this marble edifice, impressive but also somewhat staid, held so many treasures inside! The first floor begins in the Great Hall, with a grand staircase watched over by a Rodin nude. On one side of the hall are rooms for European Renaissance and Baroque pieces, some quite beautiful and evocative. On the other side, across the hall, Dutch and Flemish paintings offer their typically lavish still-lifes and grotesque portraits. Through rear doors, you’ll find a shop and a cafe (both highly regarded) and a very large gallery for changing exhibitions. This was, unfortunately, closed during our visit. Upstairs, on the second floor, is where the action begins. There’s an extensive collection of French art across the great hall from rooms of 19th century Louisiana paintings and decorative arts. In the back, the modern extension of the museum displays many works by American and European masters: Degas, Monet, Matisse, Rodin, Gaugin, Braque, Renoir, Miró, Picasso (at least twice), Cassatt (also twice), O’Keeffe, Pollock. To the left, there are rooms devoted to photography, decorative arts, and prints. To the right, there is a changeable gallery for contemporary exhibits. That’s where we saw the stunning “America” by Will Ryman, a life-size Lincolnesque log cabin, painted all in gold and constructed from cultural touchstones - chains, arrowheads, bullets, spark plugs, iPads, pills and lozenges, gas caps. On the third floor there are exhibits for African Art, Asian Art (China, Oceana, Japan, India), and pre-Columbian Mesoamerican Art - there are some pieces from the ancient Mediterranean, too. In short, this museum seems to have a little of everything. Or a lot! The NOMA’s complete collection is apparently much larger and even more extensive than what can be put on display - that’s an issue for most art museums, but is particularly true with this institution and its hundred-year-old marble premises. It simply means that visitors should become frequent revisitors, not a bad thing at all.

Amy Buras

NOMA itself is beautiful. They have a nice variety of regular exhibits and always have several interesting special exhibits.

Matthew Cohen

I love this museum! It is the museum that I grew up with. I took art classes there in the basement classrooms as a very small child, I believe I was 4 or 5. I went to the Museum proper so many times in the late '80's and very early '90's. I've only been a couple of times since the major renovation and expansion that was completed by 1994, I believe, because my family moved one state over and I began exploring the so, so, many more museums in Houston. NOMA will always have a special place in my heart.

Russell Durkin

Absolutely love this museum. The galleries are extensive and have temporary exhibitions that are very interesting, drawing on American artists and southern art and furniture. The sculpture garden (free entry) is one of my favourites in the United States and I have spent several hours taking my time appreciating all of the artists you can see there. Entry to the main galleries is on the USA reciprocal program so if you are a member of another gallery you can't afford to miss this museum. Fantastic.

James Morock

Visited Sculpture Park (free), which is absolutely first class and beautiful. Do not miss this treat!! Come see before it gets too hot.

Joseph Katon

Plan on plenty of time to see everything at this treasure of New Orleans. It wasn't packed at all and took us a few hours to see everything just inside. That doesn't include the wonderful sculpture garden or the rest of the campus area. I still think the art piece directly in front of the museum reminds me of bacon but I'm clearly no art critic. It is so much more than paintings as well.. that's just half of it. They have an amazing exhibit of finds and relics from all over the world here, too. Be sure to see the full second and third floors for everything. Be prepared as they do have a cafe of sorts. It is pricey though, but good.

Hospitality Of New Orleans

The New Orleans Museum of Art is a great place to go to learn the history of art. Their exhibits change every couple of months. The museum also does kids art camps and activities. They have a spring event called Art In Bloom which is a beautiful event. they have exercise classes for people too. The cafe there has wonderful food too with a very nice clean atmosphere. The staff who works here is very nice and welcoming. They also have a beautiful sculpture garden open to the public during the day.

Revius Adams

This was a walk through City Park and the Sculpture Garden. It was great. Never walked through it before. There were some really interesting pieces there. There were some I didn't get but some were amazing. The pieces by the water were almost zen like. The statue of the man that just repeated itself was awesome. I could go there and just relax. Would recommend to anyone.

Deborah Schwartz

Magnificent sculpture gardens, great art collections and exhibitions. Go see for yourself, bring friends and family! You will not be disappointed!

Dorina Roxana Grecu

Only got the chance to visit the Sculpture garden- which is great to walk through and admire. But next time I'll make sure to visit the inside museum.

Shawn Williams

I could have stayed there for hours such knowledge all u der one roof. Next time I'm there i will visit again.

Luis Hernandez

I been here a couple times and both times I've always left in awe. In both occasions I visited there wasn't a large crowd in the museum making the whole experience feel very immersive, unrushed, and exclusive.

Jeffrey Swan

Pretty cool museum. Sculpture garden is a fun time.

Andrea F

Located in City Park, free on Wednesdays for locals, rotating art exhibits. Huge, clean and lovely.

Danielle King

Loved the golden slave house. Great art!

Niki Gonzalez

It is key to know that every Wednesdays NOMA is available to residents for FREE. There is three floors to explore and a Café. Closes at 6 p.m. from Tuesday-Friday. And they also have a mobile guide with a lot of useful information.

Chrissy Emmons

Enjoyed visiting here. Has a lot of beautiful pieces of art

Polly Hawthorne

I saw my first Picasso! With the sculpture garden outside and everything inside, I would have enjoyed spending longer there. I felt that, even after several hours, I had rushed through it all. The Blue Crab restaurant is nearby, and the museum has a cafe, so if you go, plan to spend the day.

Dominique Ferguson

Beautiful museum, lota of gorgeous art to see, cafe with yummy food, beautiful park nearby

Carol Hutchison

What a great museum! Not too big not too small. The have a very well curated selection of different art movements. Lots of cultural activities and great benefits for members.

Neil Proud

Absolutely wonderful, stunning works and artifacts, the few hours we had were just not long enough...

William Yauger

First time there in 16 years. Lots of new art to view. Food in the cafe also great. Did not get to walk the sculpture garden. Maybe next time soon.

omar arango

If you like art, you should visit. The cafeteria and service in general are excellent.

Oren Hecht

Great museum, well curated exhibits in an east layout

nola vic

One of the most beautiful museums I've ever visited. It often has early evening, family friendly music gigs. One day a week it offers free entry for local residents.

Clayton Long

Great museum with a collection of histories of art. Definitely recommend the modern art section on the 2nd floor. Golden cabin is an amazing installation as well

Kati Thomas

Sculpture garden is huge with a large variety of pieces to suit different tastes. Special collections in the museum itself were excellent. I only gave 4 stars because I found the permanent collection to be a bit limited.

Debbie Ratner

Fabulous medium sized art museum... Great temporary exhibits, and permanent collection was good also. Outside is the sculpture gardens... Which are open to the public!

Elizabeth Castillo

Beautiful place! The have an elegant cafe inside to enjoy some cafe or lunch after or before your visit. It's located inside of a park so plenty of space to walk and share with family or friends. There is a free garden as well if you can afford the entrance fee of the main museum you can go to the gardens the have sculptures all around and it's well kept. Wonderful!

Germantas Gaurilcikas

Mixture of different art available from classic to modern to explore as well as changing exhibition area.

Todd Mc Intyre

The museum is cool, it has stuff from one family and if you read all the information you start to get the picture that something very wrong went on? Poor lady got beat? People tend to focus on the negative, it couldn't have been all bad? I liked the museum it's a good one time, 1 hour walk around.

Eric Haar

Only reason it's a 4 is I only visited the sculpture garden. Beautiful art set amongst majestic trees in a mellow park setting. Definitely worth a look.

matt hernandez

One of the best museum's I've ever been to. We will be back.

Cattus Juice

Very beautiful and really immerses yourself in the different cultures. Loved it

Nancy Gervais

The crown jewel of our city, an eclectic mix of classic, modern, and contemporary art in a beautiful accessible setting. Go to recharge and reboot, stroll in the sculpture garden, relax, think, be entertained and challenged. A must see for the impressive permanent collection and traveling shows.

Oscar Trundle

Amazing art collection of all verity of cultures, they hold some wonderful French art as well

Don Dibello

Great place to visit, you will learn slot.

carole jolicoeur

Nice place to visit; not too big. Things to do outside the museum as well!

Justin Brown

I had an amazing time visiting this museum. I wàs surprised at the variety of art and we enjoyed the flow of the museum. Would definitely come bàck and don't forget about the free sculpture garden in the back.

Reyna Martinez

Wish I could give it more stars. The collection was impressive. Could spend a whole day or two looking at everything. Definitely worth it!

Julia Faraldo

FREE This is a world class sculpture garden. The landscaping, the installation, and of course the art, make this an adult playground. As you drive towards the Museum the sculpture garden is tucked off to the right between the museum and the trail/ boat / lake parking lot. I was so taken by it, I waited out the rain in my car and went back to take the rest of the photos (sorry did not post all nor artist info) and then shared with any friends I thought might be interested (Dallas, Houston, New York). There is a small indoor gallery and nice bathrooms. Unfortunately, a couple of times, I came across children doing what they will do -- playing on the pieces they could climb on

Harold Pskowski

One of the best sculpture gardens that I have seen. Many prominent artists in an imaginative landscape. Kudos to the designers.

J Mimm

Traci greeted us with a warm smile and a great conversation about our trip. My best friend and her children traveled from Virginia while I drove over from Florida to meet for Spring Break. Traci checked us in and handed us stickers (even the adults s that we could match the kids:) We enjoyed the exhibits-the favorite being the carvings on the third floor. We stopped in at the cafe and the boys agreed that the cheese flatbread pizza was awesome! I want to give a shout out to Traci-she went out of her way to check on my friend and the kiddos when we were leaving and gave us several other options for entertainment for the boys while we were in town. Traci-Thank you so much for your friendly attitude and the advice that you gave us! The kids loved the trip!!

ladiimj93

I bought a Groupon and went because my boyfriend wanted to. I had a decent time, he had a great time. Depends on if art is your thing. I did see they had some summer cooking demo series which I thought was awesome. If I lived here I would be going. Oh and the hot chocolate is great!

R Cooper

Amazing wedding event venue. Fabulous service and food. Wonderful execution of a well planned family occasion.

John Buczek

Modern Art is my thing and NOMA delivered. A nice sized museum with a well curated collection. There was just enough of several art styles to keep our whole group interested, but wasn't so huge that we got worn out. Just the right size. And don't miss the sculpture garden outside. We loved walking leisurely through that when the weather was nice. They have several specials on entry as well, but even at regular price it is well worth it.

Darlene Capelle

Beautiful place to visit with free parking. One of the only places that didn't cost to get in or park.

Sam Henning

Wonderful museum. It is a good size so that you can see most most of it in one day. I strongly recommend the sculpture garden, you should at least spend 25-30 min in it.

chris meaders

Classical and contemporary art. Easily takes the whole day to see it. Absolutely worth it. Free for locals on Wednesdays

Allison Bee

Great stop, especially the sculpture garden next door. Free for Louisiana residents.

Chunfen Zhou

My visit to the NOMA left me with the impression that this place has a dearth of funding: I've never seen so many donation boxes in the sculpture garden of an art museum. Also, NOMA is probably the only major art museum in the US that doesn't have an accessible main entrance. Maybe the aftermath of Katrina? There are some shortcomings in the galleries: seating seems to be a bit lacking; and the exhibit labels feel outdated in places (but they do the job). My quibbles have to stop here, however, as NOMA's merits greatly outweigh its weak points: the museum closes later than most other art museums, which is always a plus for visitors; and its sculpture garden is so extensive that it becomes an attraction on its own. The areas of collection, while having noticeable gaps (e.g. South America, Ancient Mesopotamia), are wide-ranging. The African and the Oceanic exhibitions have a lot of very interesting works, but they suffer from a shortage of interpretive information. The Indian (South Asian) gallery displays some secular objects that are rarely seen in the same kind of exhibition in other places. Situated in City Park and easily accessible by streetcar, NOMA makes a tranquil destination on the other side of the hustle and bustle of French Quarter.

Jace Thompson

History has always ment a lot to me and coming her really help me experience that love even more I would definitely come here and take a look.

Russel Mills

Wonderful can't wait to go back to see the rest of the museum.

Thomas Fristoe

Amazing amount of world class art and artists for such a small city. The sculpture garden is not too be missed. Also be aware of the,oft held, special events. Lovely antebellum venue in perfect surroundings. Enjoy city park as well.

Charlie Allison

Great museum - built in the neoclassical like many in the United States, which I like. A bit small (but that is comparing it to bigger museums like the Met which is huge). Got around it in about an hour and a half (ignoring all the contemporary art). Good for a day out, especially for the price.

Dierrah Reese

The museum was clean and quite! Tour took no more than 2 hours. There were 3 levels of rooms. The bathroom was clean. The outside sculpture walk through was beautiful. Honestly, it was a much better experience walking through the outside portion.

Allan J

Great art museum. Pretty good selection. Decent sized museum. Big enough to spend a couple hours, and small enough to fit another activity in your afternoon.

Banks Dixon

Outdoor sculpture garden was really amazing. Tons of intriguing pieces scattered along a really interesting weave of pathways.

Ashley Clarke-Merisier

I recently worked with the Events Manager, Maura for a wedding at this stunning museum! Maura and the museum staff are excellent, super friendly and informative! The grounds are absolutely beautiful, well manicured lawns and the museum has old world charm! If I could give this venue 6-stars I would!

K White

This has to be my favorite art museum of all the ones I've been to in various states. Gorgeous inside and out.

Andrew Farmer

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Staff were friendly and helpful. The exhibits had quite the range in time and style. This is a must see if you're visiting New Orleans.

Felix Orchis

It's not the New York Met, but a very interesting collection that is very well presented. Nice Cafe, too.

Charles Dunson

The place gave me a lot of great information!!

Stephen Kosiorowski

What a great museum. Spend hours there. Don't miss the sculpture garden.

Tom Jones

Beautiful museum. Just wear a jacket when you visit as it is very chilly here.

Jiovany Alcaide

Beautiful spot. Good for a day trip. I've lived in Nola for 4 years and always passed up NOMA but finally decided to check it out after finding out my library card gives me access to free museum passes, which is AWESOME! The staff was very kind and Cafe Noma had some surprisingly great food. Be aware, it is cold in there, especially in the upper levels, so bring a jacket!

Sean Craft

I've visited a lot of art museums in my lifetime and I would rank this the 3rd best I've ever seen, behind only the L'ouvre and the Met in New York City.

Casey Rodrigue

We're far from art critics, but my kids and I enjoyed ourselves.

Edward Jinkens

It was enjoyable, so much different types of art, would recommend it.

Tom McGee

Not a big art fan but this place changed my mind. It is amazing to see items 100's of years old close up. And to be wowed with non modern pictures.

Cody Brumfield

A nice regional fine arts museum in City Park with a selection of works from major eras/regions, plus excellent pieces by local artists. The sculpture garden, in particular, is fantastic (and free).

Jane Harkin

Had a loverly cold drink basil lemonade so refreshing.

Keith Junior

Great art exhibit. Ride the trolley to get there.

Carolyn Grogan

was a enjoyable experience for me I got to see the Museum for the first time .

Ariana Lloyd

Wonderful and well designed. Lovely museum.

Brittany Lundstrom

One of the best art museums I've ever visited across the. country. Such a vast collection, from famous to local art.

M Stout

My son and I had a wonderful day trip to NOMA! Be prepared to spend the day! Don’t miss out the gardens outside. Beautiful sculptures and well worth the time.

Dawn Monnerjahn

I really enjoyed myself with my daughter Amanda. I love the arts

Doris Chambers

Really enjoyed the bodies exhibit even got a free sno ball

Villette Dastous

Beautiful place to visit with free parking. One of the only places that didn't cost to get in or park.

L. S.

Visiting NOMA was definitely a breath of fresh air. I loved everything about the museum inside and out. I saw my first Picasso! And, I took tons of pictures. The sculpture garden is a MUST as well. Love the location, there is tons to see and do, plan to be there for 2-3 hours.

Mike Apken

Great nature experience Captain Nolan was a blast

Ginger Battle

A perfect sunny fairly cool day to visit the sculpture garden. Lots of beautiful words to see here. Lots of shade with all the big oak trees. Great for adults and children

Christine Keri

One of favorite museums I’ve visited yet, great variety - didn’t feel like I wasted any time viewing any particular piece, rather well curated. We arrived just in time for a tour and she was lovely.

Christina Rusca

Love NOMA! It’s a great experience, and on Wednesday’s Louisiana residents don’t pay a fee for admission.

Bonnie Oliver

Great artwork and collection of artifacts. Beautiful building, polite and helpful staff.

Mark Wollam

Excellent museum, and gardens. The outside sculptures were very good.

tara madden

NOMA is a great museum. The cafe offers yummy options.

Gail Blaine

I was hesitant about going to NOMA but I enjoyed it. Particularly because they had a lot of Impressionist art. The 3rd floor had artifacts from different countries. I was impressed they had stuff from the pacific islands. The sculpture garden is really nice and different than anything I’ve experienced at a museum. My friends spend a good couple hours. If you’re not sure where to start, go with the guided tour. I wasn’t impressed with the gift shop. They had jewelry from local artists (very expensive), books and random things. The NOMA cups were the only things I cared to buy. They also have a nice cafe where I had one of the best hot chocolates. It’s a nice place to get coffee and something to eat.

Charlies Neighborhood News

A great mix of old world xnd contemporary art

Clark Broel

It's NOMA - what else is there to say? Carefully curated of small collection. Gorgeous location, dedicated staff. Go!!

Samuel Laker

The actual museum was a bit smaller than I expected; I believe two or three hours is a reasonable amount of time to spend exploring the space. The collection is largely centered on traditional European art, though the top floor is devoted to art typical of non Western cultures. The grounds, particularly the sculpture garden, are incredible.
