REVIEWS OF New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum IN Louisiana

Nick Ruggles

Meander through the haunting corridors dedicated to one of Louisiana's more fascinating cultural elements. Every inch is packed with information or examples of voodoo in practice, and you may even participate yourself.

Jessica Sullivan

Interesting space with some interesting artefacts and information. As the other reviews state, it's a very small museum and it was a little too crowded when I was there to be able to see everything.

Maranda Parker

I give a 3 star only because it was literally 3 rooms , very tiny but we can say we did it ! Not really worth $7

Seth LeMay

Good for a laugh but not much else

Joseph McAteer

Fairly small, easily crowded, and some of the writing describing the items was small and difficult to read. That being said, if you take the time to read the small print, the museum was very interesting. A little pricey at $7 for the size, but not outrageous.

Samantha Hussey

Neat little museum but wish it was bigger and had more stuff

Mark Tuell

It's a Voodoo Museum! You think I would give it less than 5 stars? Cool stuff to see. Worth the time, seriously.

Mel

Small little place if you are into voodoo and it's history in New Orleans. Some areas are a little tight if crowded but it wasn't bad and I really enjoyed the voodoo doll of all sorts. The man inside is very informative as well. Doesn't take long to go through with only three or four little rooms but it's packed with history.

Michal Hrcka

Two rooms and one hall full of woodoo swag. If you are woodoo fun go for it. For me it was just waste of time.

Brad Randazzo

Little cramped but cool history and lots to look at. Gave an extra star to be safe as to not offend any spirits.

James Robertson

A must see for any tourist or local! Learned all about the history of voodoo with excellent artifacts and exhibits. Not a large place, but jam packed with information and items.

Angie Maguire

It was fun. I enjoyed the spirits there. I do wish it hadn't been so crowded but I suppose that was due to the popularity.

Teresa Gonzalez

Small museum, but, I believe you can find everything about voodoo. A lot to read and see about this practices. You can get a private session or just get a souvenir

Scott Reisenweber

Was crudely and rudely told that they were packed until after 1pm. This isn't the north. Here in the south we expect southern hospitality. If something isn't going to be possible, say it gracefully and with a kind word.

Eleni O'Neill

Interesting, long wait for a tiny place with not much to see and even less explanation. The guide we were given was in German, and my Deutsch ist no good. The ladies in the front were super funny and friendly to my daughter, but honestly, I had a hard time explaining anything to her. I would have liked more cultural explanation so we could have learned more about the voodoo culture without reinforcing stereotypes.

Chelsea Alexander

Cute, a little cramped but very cool

Amber McGregor

$7 for 2 rooms as big as my bathroom.

Theresa Lofton

Not what I expected. I wish there was more information contained there. Only 2 rooms basically. But not an expensive outing but definitely not what you think it will be. P.s. the gift shop is pricey

Brandon Carr

Loved all the art they had. And the people where nice.

Maria M

Really small. Interesting however Can't read the info in the hallways because it's narrow af. Rooms are CRAMMED with artifacts. Because of other visitors you really can't read all the info. 7$ seemed a little steep. Should have charged 3$

Mosette Harmon

Really enjoyed this museum, the place is small with alot of information.

Lisa Mace

Kinda creepy, kinda cool. Smaller than I hoped it would be but it was very informative.

Jeff Kaemmerling

Interesting and informative, but kind of a tourist trap. It's literally an old house but the culture of it all is extremely fascinating.

annabismenow

So much cool information. I liked the layout a lot. No phones are allowed to be used inside the museum. I would have used my phone to enlarge some of the text that i couldn't read, but the over all awesomeness was not lost.

Tim Niet

Two Small rooms of displays. Not worth the $6.00 offering. Very little information on the history of Voodoo. What little information there is, is on sheets of paper in small type behind glass making it impossible to read with the glare. There are about 4 altars you can give offerings too. I never saw so many cigarettes and dollar bills.

David Matthews

Great little museum for an important and often overlooked aspect of the culture and religious practices of the region. Popular culture has distorted the understanding of Voodoo and it’s impact. Do some homework before visiting to understand the reality and complexity of Voodoo traditions outside of NOLA. This helps in the quality of the experience. I had the opportunity to visit and learn about Voodoo in Haiti before visiting the museum and helped me understand the greater importance of the traditions. The museum is very small, old... but this is the part of the charm and realities.

Bart Tapolsky

Too small museum. Two rooms for $7 is much expensive. All tour took 12 minutes, the fastest tour ever

Oisin Beaudelot

Interesting in parts but very very tight and it’s like 2 small rooms.

James Whitaker

Amazing! We learned a lot about Voodoo while there and dispelled a lot of the myths made popular in movies and books. You could feel the energy as we walked through the museum. The woman working there was great and very funny, she really added to the experience.

Glen Bertalotto

New Orleans historical Voodoo Museum a fantastic time lot to see very professional very courtesy people are very knowledgeable lot of interesting things here to see and look at only in New Orleans this place is very interesting when in New Orleans check out the voodoo Museum

Doug Burkin

It's a small museum but kinda interesting. Takes maybe 15 min to view on self guided tour. Cemetary tours are offered to St Louis #1

Christine Warrington

Funky cool fun history. Just so you can check it off, get your fortune read but book it early!! She stays booked!!

Kate Hansen

Deeply educational and fascinating. Woman at the front desk is incredibly knowledgeable. They accept cash/card, and offer two kinda of tours. 1- in house, under 10 bucks and self guided. 2- trip to cemetary. guided, around 25 dollars. If you want to know the difference between voodoo and hoodoo, you'll have to take the guided tour!

Brandon Wentworth

Okay but small museum. Staff seemed uninterested in providing service.

Coaster Kat

I really enjoyed what I got to see of the museum, but it was extremely crowded and I was not able to see part of the museum because it just got so packed. They definitely need to work on crowd management and movement. But what I did see was pretty cool. I would go and check it out if it's not crowded.

cathy stiernagle

Not too big but a good thing to see....very dusty... It meant to be that way.

Abby Rivera Independent AVON Sales Rep

You learn about the history, see the artifacts. Theres so much more to it than what one may think or believe.

rose _hello it's me

It was pretty scary and i felt a weird presence near by too but it was pretty cool

Willie Erickson

I had a good time at the New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum. Yes it is a small place so do not visit during high season if you can, I was lucky to visit on a rainy day and there were very few people. Voodoo is the local tradition in Louisiana, with magical powers and myths, so it was fun to see the artifacts and to learn a bit about the history of voodoo.

Heather

Very small and cramped. What they had was cool but they just keep letting people in and there is only one way in/out so there is no where to go. Would have liked to have been able to read the information on the displays thoroughly but as they kept just letting more and more people into the space it makes you feel very rushed. I bought tickets online and you had to pick the specific day you wanted the tickets for which made it seem like it would be more structured but it was a free for all.

Lauren Prince

I asked some people out the front if it was worthwhile visiting and they were on the fence about whether it was worth it. After visiting I would say not. It's $7 per person to enter what is basically a hallway and 2 small rooms. The rooms are filled with dusty, dirty displays and 'shrines'. There are limited description tags. Some of the info is repeated multiple times. Skip this one!

Toffet Vii

It's a pretty small museum. Go here if you're interested in learning more about New Orleans' Voodoo, you'll certainly get the primer you need, but there is still so much more to learn.

Amy P

This was one of my bucket list stops while visiting new Orleans and it definitely didnt disappoint. I wish I could remember the nice ladies name but she was very hospitable and knowledgeable. She encouraged us to take our time going through to take everything in also allowed to take as many pictures as we liked. Overall it was an amazing experience and a pleasure to learn more of the history and culture.

Ross Kelley

Certainly eerie and delivers "authentic" voodoo decor (not cheesy like the main drag souvenir shops) but it is very small with no explanation outside of hard to read plaques and time worn prints. If the price of admission weren't so high, I wouldn't expect so much but even a laminated/bound visual guide would go a looooong way. I just wanted more "education"...go, bring your kids, just don't expect too much.

Shannon Snaden

Ok way to spend 20 minutes. 2 rooms. Gets crowded and warm. $7 each.

allie rodeheaver

If you like this sort of thing it was neat, but not really impressive. Very small and gift shop sucked.

Vinny Himes

Very interesting to read the old history here. We weren't rushed or crowded. It was a cool place to burn some time between meals.

Harmony Thomas

Always cool & filled w all your witchy, wiccan, historic, and voodoo nick nacks. Much respect to this authentic shop of late.

Lynn Dorman

Very small but informative and interesting. A priestess was in today and was very nice and talkative.

Michelle McLendon

The museum is two rooms. Cluttered with various voodoo pieces that are dusty. I was expecting more information, the history, the influences of voodoo. The little information that was available is hard to read and not much surrounding the history of voodoo. All in all VERY disappointing. A waist of $7 per person.

Greg Ray

It's 3 rooms and a hallway chalk full of all types of items dealing with Zombie, Voodoo, and the dead. This place is a small, ADHD paradise! So much stuff everywhere. So many items that it is just spilling into the floor. This really could be a very neat museum dealing with a fascinating subject matter. Instead I left after the very short stroll through the museum, and the first thing I asked my friends is, "when does the tour start?" If you are claustrophobic, then this probably isn't the museum for you. If you try to fit more than five people in this place to take the tour at the same time, it feels crowded. 10 people at a time, and you will be climbing the walls to get out of there. I still really like the place because I am fascinated with the subject matter, but dang, how about putting a little bit of money into some show cases to protect your stuff. Who do the Voodoo that you do!

Kasper Villemoes Hald

Overpriced and disappointing... After 10 minutes you have seen all there is to see in the two room that is the museum

Nyte Roze

I was pleased with the information presented, but underwhelmed with the display. It's set up in two rooms and definitely needs more space! There is a gift shop, and it has some cool souvenirs.

shawn mcconnell

Kinda cool stuff. Almost worth the $7 entry fee. Cash only. Keep expectations low.

Belinda Rodriguez

Loved it and it is a must do when visiting NOLA. Though the museum is really small and jam packed with items. It is a self guided tour.

Edward Morrison

Small, not enough explanations of,things. It could be bigger and better. 2 rooms for $7...

cassie cole

It was really cool to go in and see all the voodoo history I very much enjoyed it how ever it is very small and the let to many people in at a time so you are pretty much jammed together like sardines in a can. Not much room to walk take good pictures or breathe. Still it was worth the money to see it and learn

Glide

Interesting part of Nola that most people don't see. If you'd ever wondered about voodoo dolls or voodoo in general come here and check out their museum, that is a bit on the small side, which has statues, paintings, lots of reading material for you, and get an ocult souvenir at the gift shop. It's a nice little respite from the heat. Only problem I had was the lady at the cashier was a little rude. She probably shouldn't be dealing with people.

Sarah Sullivan

Small but informative and the woman running the desk is a gem!

cricket boston

I was so mesmerized by everything and now I am interested in learning more about how the universal energies tie into life

Michelle

Too small for too many people on a hot day. Interesting, but not enough to be crammed in such a small place with a bunch of people.

Ben Slightom

Not worth the time or money. Two poorly curated rooms with minimal information are cramped together, and they charge far more than the "exhibits" are worth. If you're interested in voodoo/hoodoo look elsewhere.

Kayden Macey

Really cool place, and not a bad price. Some of the history and facts are off though, especially when it talks about the origin of the word, "jazz". Fun time though!

Mar Morales Medina

Smaller than I thought but the information and facts were great! I do recomend it

Rhiannon Scheele

Small but filled to the brim with great displays and information. Offerings are on every surface.

Jatavia A

Not as big as expected, 1 way in and 1 way out. Exhibits were nice though. Plus you are able to submit a prayer/wish, just bring your own pen and paper

Anthony Siconolfi

Don't waste your money $7.00 for a walk through 2 small rooms!

Daisy Lopez

Really educational, it was $7 per person. It's two small rooms full of items and below there is a description and history of it. I liked it, learned a lot!

James McGinn

It was tiny only two rooms filled with skulls incense and lots of places to roll up a dollar and give it to the spirits to get your wish fulfilled!

Erik Wilt

Great place to visit. I brought my whole family and they can be hard to please, let alone impress. Everyone left happy and impressed. We were helped in a professional manner when we needed needed assistance, making the whole experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend a visit.

Kevin Malfa

Cash only, with 3 tiny rooms of "Voo Doo" junk and hardly any AC. Sure it was only 7 bucks/person but I'll temp fate with this bad review and say spend your money else where. Even if you really believe in Voo Doo there must be better, less scammy and places to check out. Scratch this one off your list

Jody Payne

Small building with a nice lady working the front. It houses several shrines, and a seemingly random selection of artifacts with brief descriptions. The wife and I both thought it would be more informative. We assumed it would have coherent timelines, collections, and practice explanations.

Ryan M

Interesting little place to drop by if you're visiting the French Quarter. I paid $5 since I'm a student but it wouldn't have been worth much more than that. The line was pretty long and a decent portion of the stuff was in some narrow hallway that was also the entrance and exit. So, if you tried to look at it you blocked people. Everything else just fit in two rooms. It was an interesting experience reading what little they had about the history of voodoo, and overall I'm glad I went, but if you come here and the line is too long it probably isn't worth it.

Kaye Chetta

So many interesting finds! Born and raised in NOLA... a hidden little treasure!! ❤

sydney saurus

I loved everything inside the building! The items featured the ranged from art that was created for the museum to old remnants from voodoo alters long gone. I want according there to be so much information posted around the place but I found it very informational and interesting. Only downside was that it was very crowded and people were often shoulder to shoulder trying to read the same small pages. I felt a little rushed by just patrons so I ended up taking pictures of the plaques so I could read everything later. The owner was great, she welcomed everyone in and didn't mind answering questions or sharing a funny story.

Dennis Hall

Small and cramped, but definitely worth the visit. A lot of history packed into a tiny place. Lots of artifacts from voodoo long ago. Cinnamon Black, one of the Voodoo priestesses their is very knowledgeable and always willing to help and answer questions. We bought a Voodoo doll and she even performed a Voodoo ritual on it for us for no extra charge! Love this place and will always visit it when we are in NOLA.

Megg Ochsenbein

We went there for the tour including the museum, Congo Square , Marie Laveau House, and St. Louis No. 1. We had Nate as our tour guide who was is knowledgeable, very animated and a ton of fun. We could not have asked for a better tour guide! If you want to go on a tour he's the one you want! Thanks Nate!

Samy Ghannam

Interesting place to much history mixed whit fiction

Tia Yates

The exhibit is small but it offers a lot of information. Photo opportunities are plentiful. I enjoyed it, but it is a very quick experience. Make sure you bring cash to enter - no cards accepted.

Nick Heltn

It's small but really cool. It gets crowded easily, but if you're lucky to not go at a super crowded time is a super joy! So flag I was able to go!

Scott Hendrickson

Really fun place lots of history and lots of fun things to look at and buy

Arianne Paroly

Interesting and weird space explaining the history and practices of voodoo queens and doctors. The museum is small but worth a visit and the $6 entry fee.

Julia Planes

Interesting, but very small and very crowded. Honestly not a lot more to see than a lot of the voodoo shops.

Tchie M

Really wasn't what I expected, it was kinda small. And for it being the only voodoo/hoodoo museum, I guess I expected more(?) Alot to look at, alot to learn, I wish we took a tour to have someone walk us through it. The price is very reasonable, you do get what you pay for.

Kristina Parsons

This place isn't scary. The museum is very informative.

Ben Murray

2 small rooms and a corridor of some cool stuff of voodoo! Feels like part of someone's house not an actual museum.

Evert Kanse

Waste of time and money. It's just 2 small rooms with litle figurines and pictures where you can donate money for good luck. Don't get me wrong I like voodoo and the story behind it but this is just a big scam. Most dissapointed museum ever!

Megan Becerra

Small but for the price it's worth it. Just a couple of rooms of items to look at but the rooms are packed to the brim with alters and so much background and history to learn from. I learned so much while there!

Izabel Alvarenga

The Museum and Cemetery Tour is a must! We had a great experience; the guide is very knowledgeable. Also, the museum is small and has a lot of religious items, so we wouldn’t enjoy it very much without the guide’s informations.

Jake O'Brien

A collection of very interesting pieces and paintings and trinkets and artefacts etc, but no real order to narrative to any of it. Although, you can see how it could easily be edited into one across the 3 rooms. Such a shake-up would greatly enhance the experience. Even just arranging it into a simple chronology across the rooms.

Andrea F

Located in the Quarter this tiny museum is a narrow space where they have to limit how many people can be in at one time, but gives a detailed history on Voodoo in New Orleans. Very informative and interesting.

Jacob Trapp

Small rooms and lots of reading. interesting artifacts

Lynn Hansen

Save your time. This is a self guided tour consisting of a narrow hallway and 2 small rooms. Your money is better spent somewhere else. No

Joe Brower

Decent little place - pretty interesting and mildly educational. Owners pretty cool...a bit of a "tourist trap" feel.

Jimmy DeMarco

Not worth $7. Just skip this, there’s no reason to waste 30 min in this cramped hallway and room for what they call “explaining voodoo.” Buy yourself a beer instead!

Briana Peters

This place is awesome! Very educational and for a good price! Only $7 and you can spend as much time as you like! The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the space is tiny

Michelle Wong

The Voodoo Bone Lady is here to help you have a good time, and learn about the history of New Orleans. We had so much fun, I’m all ready to delve into my own research to learn more about the macabre history. She also had her own long familial history background in voodoo. The best way to learn.

Bella Rose

I was charged 41.40 for a reading but was refunded 40.00. The fact I received a cold( fraudulent) reading and was not refunded the exact amount charged. To anyone considering visiting this museum DON’T. The people who work their have poor ethics and principles.

Marisha Garland

What a great experience. I had some knowledge of Vudu already but this was special. We were granted an opportunity to hear the history of it and see pictures and artifacts. Don't skip this if you are in town.

john cannerfelt

Good display although small. Cheap entry fee though 7USD. I dont regret going

Karla Hanson

Very interesting and well worth the stop. I am glad I came. The wait was only about 15 min to get in.

katinka Bakker

Nice cozy museum. With a lot of information about voodoo.

Erica Mars

While it was very interesting I think I over paid to read a bunch of signs on the walls. I wish there was more to it then just a small hallway and two rooms. I had actually went on a ghost tour the night before they explain much history of voodoo. Had I of gone here first I wouldn’t say I was more knowledgeable on the subject. While it was very cool. I felt squeezed in trying to read this papers that are on the wall. I fell having the a name of voodoo museum I want written artifacts, something digital, and of course more... they had a few books that I felt were way to over priced (cheaper on amazon) and the cashier was just there to collect the money. She wasn’t very engaging. It was a really cool experience but I didn’t walk away saying omg I didn’t know that or omg how cool. I would recommend that you don’t go as a large group (more then 3) because you mostly likely won’t all get to go in at once.

Monica Spicer

Very cool place to see. The only issue i have with the Museum is it is very small and get very over crowded.

Kim Case

Small, but very authentic...lovely hostess!

Chris Stanley

The museum was small but had a lot of interesting exhibits. We learned a lot about the history of Voodoo. I would go back.

Emily Jeziorski

A bit of a tight squeeze but absolutely worth the price of admission and chock full of amazing artifacts and knowledge

Travis Hampton

Was too crowded to really enjoy the place. Was laid out with no rhythm to the flow. Needs to be in a larger space. There is some very cool stuff but it's too cramped.

Desirae Tira

My daughter wanted to go, so we did. It is what it is, but for $18 for the three of us to go in, we were done in 10 minutes. Not a lot to see.

B S

Very cool exhibit. Not sure on the authenticity but was very interesting and had a lot of history. Great way to fill an hour of your day! They allow all the pictures you want to take.

Edward Tropez

It was a fantastic learning experience! Take the tour with Nate and you'll learn so much more. Open your mind to receive knowledge not nonsense. This is a part of our HISTORY...

Landon Massey

Very cool stuff inside! Not expensive. The only reason I didn't give five stars is the cramped conditions. Very narrow corridors and small rooms tightly packed. If you're interested in voodoo, it's worth a look.

Liz Coffee

Great folks who are open to respectful questions and happy to educate! A very enlightening experience!

Trenae Livingston

So small one way in one way out. Dont expect the lady at the front to be helpful. Interesting place

Bronwen Raff

Crowded and small space but cool, educational and realistic!

Beata Sosnowska

I've learned something interesting.

Jeff Wilson

Once again a must go to if you are in the area and are interested in voodoo. Awsome

vh3X2

I took the 2hr Voodoo Cemetery tour with Bri who is probably the best tour guide I've ever had. If there were more than 5 stars I would give them to her! I learned so much and had such a great experience I'll remember forever- thank you!

Chelsea Himes

Only $7 to get in, nice lady at the front, but it was just a lot of pictures on the walls with descriptions to read and some other random memorabilia. Not super impressed.

Marie

It was cool, definitely a tourist trap but I ain't mad about it

Kristine Beatty

A fun little stop in the Quarter. Lots of Voodoo paraphernalia and stories packed into just a couple rooms, we spent about 20 minutes exploring.

Isabel Torres

It is a very historic place, and is highly educational. It was fascinating to read all about the Hoodoo and Voodoo roots in New Orleans. Only thing is, I have to admit, it was a bit dusty.

Billy Walker

I loved touring this place! Super cool place to visit!

George Forgan-Smith

Simple museum with many alters demonstrating the practice of Voodoo Hoodoo and other rights. I found it interesting. Some good images as well. It’s not huge however it’s a well curated collection.

Angie Parks

Awesome place. Super tiny but enjoyable and informational. Bring offerings for Papa Leg Bas!

Sunni Keister

We would have loved to tour this museum. But the lady running the counter was on the phone. We waited a while (it seemed like maybe her credit card reader or something was down and she was trying to fix it). After 10 minutes or so of not even being acknowledged, we chose to leave (as did at least 3 other couples I saw). I hope she got it fixed, and I understand the frustration, but had she at least acknowledged us with an "I'll be right with you," we would have been content to wait.

Ruby Schneider

This is great place to visit. Lots of history in the tour. I feel they should have another person helping in the museum to understand the displays. Enjoyed every minute.

Nithya Reddy

The place is soo small, we went on the smithsonian museum day and it was full of people and felt Claustrophobic, the lady at the front entrance was not friendly at all and was very rude. The place had history of voodoo but did not get a chance to look with a lot of crowd. Need to visit during off hours to actually be able to see something there.

Virginia Parker

I enjoyed exploring this space and reading about the history of Voodoo and related topics. The space is very small though, making it a little difficult to navigate when it is busy. I would have loved to take more of a look around the small shop in the front, but there were just too many people inside at once.

Nicholas Vuletich

Great museum for the price. If you are not familiar with voodoo/hoodoo, keep your phone handy, you will be doing some googling. The exhibits have brief descriptions, but if you want to full story, you will need your phone. Definitively worth visiting, especially if you consider the shows Supernatural and American Horror Story to be a sufficient voodoo education

Enrique Lara

I used to love coming here when I was younger, but over the years this place has become underwhelming. Maybe the small space or lack of new things.

Sophie Evans

Eclectic mish mash of artifacts and contributions (money, liquor, cigarette offerings) by the public. It had some interesting placards but no real order or coherence. Would be better if there was a more cronoglical journey through voodoo beliefs and a little more room for people to move. Reasonably priced for a tourist trap and worth a look around if you're in the area.

Dierrah Reese

Charged $7 per person with a small walking tour. Had a total of 4 rooms with interesting history of voodoo. Staff was nice.

Khendra Davis

It’s a tad small but that adds to the feel. It’s a lot of great information and fun thing to do if you’re visiting.

Fernanda Mesquita

Need some improvements to be a good museum...

James Mcclintock

Even though this was a smaller Museum, this Museum was very interesting with a lot of facts. It was very interesting seeing how many people went through and gave gifts to the spirits, and you can read all about what the spirit was and what each item masks were artifact was used for. I'm not one to believe in this stuff, but it was very interesting and I would go back again. For $7, you need to see this.

Eric Dolanski

It's a small place, self guided tour, with interesting relics and stories

Ronda Reeves

Great altars and historical memorabilia throughout the small museum.

Denise Brockway

Not much to it. I thought it would be way more informative. Could really be something cool if the owners put some love in to it. But it seems to just be a way to score $7 per tourist. You wont be missing much if you skip it.

Krystal Stevenson

Sadly this was not what I thought it would be. The alters were cool to see, but little else to see and little to gain when it comes to understanding the religion more.

Danielle Barton

Such a cool place to visit when u are in the French Quarter. Thia location was more authentic them most of the other Voodoo stores in the area.

Ash Yezuita

The museum has an interesting collection of artifacts that were interesting. It is a very small space with limited information around the development and practice of voodoo. I left without answers to some more basic questions around the history of voodoo and hope that the museum can continue to grow into a more informative and educational space. We read every plackard but only spent 15 minutes here.

kristin nystrom

I wish the museum was more organized, cleaner and had more explanation of Voodoo ...I myself was ask by a couple from California to explain Voodoo to them I also walk them though the museum and gave them a tour ... which I did but I myself was visiting from Vermont also it's small but I guess you get what you pay for...

Shelby Elvin

The place was nice I wish it was bigger. Definitely have to squeeze by people to enter & exit

Amira Brito

Very interesting information and a lot to see.

Doctor GonZo 707

Lots of interesting history and artifacts. Can get a bit crowded if its busy, but definitely worth a stop in.

Kelly Patterson

It was a small museum but packed with lots of info. We lucked out and New Orleans Nate was starting a tour so we're got to listen in and got a lot of useful info! Would love to see people available like that to give more info.

Karla Serrano

It was pretty small. I do believe if they did a guided tour would make things a little more interesting

efrain quiroz

It was a little let down from what people were saying it was a must to go to see the oldest voodoo spot to visit. The place is very small so make sure not to bring bulky book bags with you. The little shop is pricey but if u want a memory u can get what u want.

Blake Smith-Bohnert

Honestly kind of cringey. The "museum" is two rooms and a hallway. You're better off going to a voodoo shop and looking around, since the whole point of this is basically to sell merch anyway. There is nothing even remotely authentic or redeeming about this place.

Dianne Alexander

Expected more than there was there. Abit disappointed

Christopher H

Absolute waste of $7. The "museum" is about the size of a dining room and hardly curated. It's more a collection of ill described artifacts than a museum. I understand that it's tricky to find a reputable source on such a clearly touristy subject, but this doesn't even try.

Adam M

This was a fun little place to visit, full of artifacts and information. It's true it's quite small but we were lucky there weren't many people in there at the same time as us so it wasn't cramped or busy. I bought a gris gris at the end for good luck but I've been having nightmares every night since, I thought it's supposed to give me good luck not nightmares.

Bonnie Oliver

Nate was a great guide. Very interactive and informative.

Tony Zhang

Be honest, I don't recommend this place. For most of you, please do NOT be fooled any recommendations on web: they are all advertise! The price is 7 dollars per adult. Seems fair, right? Most City museum asks something around that. But what these museum offer: a decent guide or well- written explanation. For this museum, how could it be called a museum? Only two rooms: each is around the typical small bedroom in your house. The items are piled without any explanation. Some photos have explanatory words which are from Web: they did not even remove the link. I believe any web recommendation is an ad! And this is the best business I could think of: gathering some old stuff and charged you 7 dollars. It is not a business: it is a scam! Am I fooled? Yeah, I am.

More of a small trinket shop. Didnt bother paying $7 each for the museum. As we didnt think much of the gift shop :(

Really cool spot! Really educational and Nate was awesome! Not too scary and really interesting to learn about the voodoo culture. Definitely worth the stop.

Its an ok place to visit. This place definitely need to implement some safety codes. This place only has one entrance and one exit same door. The place is very compacted definitely not wheelchair accessible. Literally a small house converted to a museum. Picture of people waiting in line.
