Here you will be able to see all the opinions of real people like you who purchased the services and products of Bonnie & Clyde Ambush Museum (Museum) in Louisiana.
At the present this firm receives a score of 4.2 stars over 5 and this rating is based on 350 reviews.
As you can read, the average score it has is quite good, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can think that the rating is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Museum is classified in the category of Museum.
Absolutely loved going here you can learn everything there is to know about Bonnie and Clyde and souvenirs to take home
Interesting little place, tucked off the beaten path!
Very informative and a must visit if you love history
It was pricey. There was alot off the same copies of copied pictures and copied newspaper clippings.
Interesting.
Wonderful
B&C Ambush Museum is located dead center of Gibsland a very small town. You cant miss the museum unless your driving like Clyde Barrows. Only seen a few parking spots. There is a $7 per person sign, written in marker on the entrance door. Once you pay, there is a DVD the owner will play for you to watch and then wonder around the museum, looking at all the historic items. There are a few items that are here that do not fit in B&C Legend. The 2 cars are not the originals just props. Could do away with the fake blood. The articles and pictures are very informative on B&C
This is an interesting spot to stop at while on a road trip. Pros: Very informative, has a gift shop, and a ton of Bonnie and Clyde memorabilia. Cons: The place is pretty pungent; it smells like cat litter everywhere which my fiance and I found to be very distracting. Also, it's not exactly for the faint of heart. There are a ton of photos that depict Bonnie and Clyde's bodies after they had been shot. I would not recommend viewing this with small children because some of the material is violent and or morbid. All in all, it was an interesting detour off the beaten path.
This small privately curated museum has a tremendous amount of history packed within its walls. The spot has been featured on American Pickers ep. 106, and a few other historical gangster paranormal related shows. Museum owner is well steeped in the actual history as well as the local lore... I brought my 6 year old... The movie car exhibit (fueled with Halloween sound tracks and sugar) was a little scary close up! (I told him NOT to go that way, I just wanted to get a photo) but NOW I have to be a Bonnie to a much shorter Clyde for Halloween because 'every Clyde needs his Bonnie' Mom... A short film precludes the self guided tour filled with photos artifacts and articles related to the lives and crimes of the Barrow gang as well the filmography (#deathcar) and information about similar tales of depression driven infamy. There is also a recently opened cafe'. In an effort to NOT drive business away from the small local eatery across the street, the hours are limited; however, the space is available to private parties. Please contact Terry for information... Tell him Renee the Groomer sent ya (;
Interesting in the archives of history. Worth the seven bucks for admission.
Not like any other museum you will ever enter.
I'm kin to Bonnie parker
Cool little place. Has somo good history.
Out of way place, but cool. They have the car and the guns.
Walked in and the person working was sound asleep. In fact .... the entire little community looked as though it had been asleep for a number of years.
My friend sandra and I stopped off in gibsland Louisiana and visited the bonnie and clyde museum. It's small but has lots of memorabilia
It was neat, the guy inside was very knowledgeable. Lots of stuff that had nothing to do with Bonnie and Clyde, but overall it was neat, it's also housed in what was once a dinner where they ordered their last meal. Two sandwiches to go.
It's a very cool place. Spend a few minutes talking to the owner. He has so much knowledge to share . Well worth the time..
Really enjoyed our stop off. The history and information provided was outstanding. Set in building that was the sandwich shop where they bought their last meal.
Interesting place to stop and see .We enjoyed ourselves
Interesting place, near the site where B & C met final justice. Smelled a bit of cigarette smoke inside, and perhaps a bit expensive for the size, but recommended nonetheless.
The curator, who was also the son of one of the Dallas sheriffs, was the best part of the exhibit. He was very likable and even told stories of his father before and after the tour. The museum was small, but informative.
They were closed, we just stopped by to look, not much to see but what is there is awesome.
Wish i had went through the museum. If you go make sure you go though the museum or it will eat uou up wishing you did.
They have the car they were shot in, but the place is run down
Closed when we got there. It was still during business hours, so we dont know why...I think it would be interesting to see, since it was the old diner where Bonnie and Clyde got their last meal before the ambush...but oh well...maybe another time.
We love visiting this awesome museum & the owner Perry always has a cool story to tell you.
Great museum. Small but the owner is very nice.
It was an awesome place. Lots of great stuff and great service. Definitely going back.
I totally enjoyed visiting there it sure gave you a huge outlook of Bonnie and Clyde. Definitely showed the history. I'd recommend anybody to go by and visit.
Fun place to visit.
Nice place to go and see it
Wonderful historical site. There is gore so emotionally sensitive children and adults may need to be aware. This is my kind of historical site, full of information and lots of artifacts. Thanks for the expansion and I hope the cafe is open the next time I go, awesome.
It is a very accurate and sorrowful experience. I was moved.
Rough, but the only place to see this stuff
The Bonnie and Clyde Ambush Museum is full of many items, from replica graves of Bonnie and Clyde to blood stained shirt pieces. There is so much stuff (large and small) it limits the space you can walk through and makes you feel quite cramped. The owner is very nice and knowledgeable. When you enter the museum you are in the gift shop area and then you proceed into the museum. You may start by watching a couple different videos about Bonnie and Clyde and the ambush that ended their lives. There is a timeline of stories posted along the wall that brings you from their begins through the ambush. The museum, while it has some items from their lives, it seems to hold more items to do with their deaths, including autopsy photos/drawings. I would not recommend this museum for some children as they may get scared or not understand.
Great place to visit. Well worth the time to go there
It was awsome
The owner is very nice . Knows his stuff about Bonnie and Clyde. Great place to visit
Really glad I went. Small nice quaint place
Dirty, smells like dogs, needs a facelift but awesome to see if you like History!
Was VERY thrilled with the place. For 7.00 each you really can't beat it. Tons of newspaper articles, pics and extremely interesting info.
This museum is full of information from love letters to movie posters to the movie car. It is worth a stop if you are passing through. I only wish I had more time because there is so much to read.
Friendly people and cool trinkets.
Great place, extremely knowledgeable. Get the story the Man didn't want you to know at the time!
Enjoyed very much. Great experience. Learned a lot. Thanks.
Amazing history lesson.
Been wanting to come here for years.Got there Friday afternoon and stood in the lobby / gift shop for 30 minutes while the guy there was surfing the net. Finally got tired of waiting and left. He never acknowledged we were there until we were outside on the sidewalk. Said thanks for shopping without even looking up. I can understand why they are going broke. Sad deal, was looking forward to seeing it.
SO neat!
Very cool
Neat stop while traveling!
Lots of interesting facts but I think $7/person is a bit much.
We only had about an hour to look things over which didn't even scratch the surface of all there was to look at and read. I fully plan to go back first chance I get. The gentleman running the museum was extremely courteous and helpful.
A good short stop. Good information and easy to get to.
Really informative. Very nice people.
Great place to visit
Small museum if your traveling and need a break from driving. Didn't think it was worth the price.
So cool to step back in time! Had some awesome documentaries to watch & really nice set up of all kinds of memorabilia!! Gift shop offered lots of related items to keep!! Great stop!!
Lots of information about the ambush of Bonnie and Clyde. Incense being burned in the museum and a friendly cat that may cause some folks with allergies to experience difficulty. Otherwise, an informative stop. Be sure to visit the gas station around the corner, and the actual ambush site 8 miles south. Worth the 3 stops.
Claims to have the death car
My husband and i really ejoyed learning more about Bonnie and Clyde. This is a laid back little rown with so much to offer.
Awesome piece of history! This is where they bought a couple sandwiches to go which was their last meal. To walk around in the building where Bonnie and Clyde got their last meal is pretty eerie to say the least! There is so much memorabilia here! They have a replica of the car they were ambushed in and many many pictures and articles about their lives and crime spree. They play a 15 minute documentary telling some of the story of their crime spree. The lady inside was very nice and very knowledgeable. Definitely worth the stop! Plan to spend at least an hour here! From here you can drive the 7.5 miles to see the ambush site where they met their fate minutes after leaving the Cafe.
Fun stop off the interstate.
Car had mannequins with fake blood and plastic gummy blood stuck to the windows, kinda ruined the authenticity of it.... It was okay
It was scary. The people running it wouldn't stop talking. We were stuck there forever....2 rooms and 2 old ladies.
Lots of cool stuff.
Laidback nice place to
Interesting!
We loved it! Very quaint and cozy. The guy at the front desk was extremely nice and friendly. We loved seeing all the artifacts and the history. Best part of our honeymoon so far!
Awesome history in the museum. Lots of neat things to see
Awesome. Keeps the legend alive. A treasure trove of trivia on Bonnie and Clyde and their acquaintances.
LOTS of memorabilia. Be sure to watch the shipper documentary when you first enter. The replica of the ambush car is very realistic. Full of history of the times!
Very historic. I just past through at the right time
Must see if your still alive.. And the deathcar site right down the street and the workers owners are a blast
Small but interesting with lots of memorabilia. The ambush site is approximately 8-9 miles from museum.
Ohhhhhh it was hotttt but had a lot of fun..
Cute town and very interesting.. It was not busy for us, we had a blast! Learned some new things we didn't know and visited where they got ambushed... The replica car looks almost like the original one.. (Good job guys)
Educational and historical place to go
It was very informative about the the infamous couple. Not advisable for younger children Parts of the exhibit may be a little graphic for young eyes. Lots of wonderful memorabilia.
Loads of fun. Great artifacts & info. Really brings them to life.
Always enjoy this event but hate the summer heat lol.
Love it! Married my husband here
Its around the corner from my birth home .. not impressed
Interesting to a point, lots of repeat photos and articles. Site where actual ambush occurred a mess. Watch out for overcharging for anything you buy, my fault when I saw him adding it up in his head, was overcharged. Lots of replicas. Live and learn.
Small space so not a lot of room. Overpriced because it was expensive to get in. Simple stuff, after we went here we went to the place where they were shot at. I have to say that they do not keep any care of the shrine.
Not friendly people there
Went yesterday it's ok very small we were watching the video and the guy at the register took a few people into the museum and begin talking in a voice that covered the sound of the video. We tried to discreetly get his attention but no good we settled for grabbing the remote and cranking the volume. Cute stuff in the gift shop but eat in the restaurant at your own risk. Pricrs are good but it made us all sick.
Great little place. Alot of history here and recommend the stop. Staff very friendly.
The definitive B&C treasure trove of information and artifacts. Knowledgeable owner! Worth the stop. There is a LOT to see.
A great experience. A must attraction for those with any interest in American outlaws
It had some pretty cool stuff in there. Very interesting but the smell was horrible!
Very cool little out of the way town and museum!
Bizarre idea! Looked a little cheap and sleazy at first glance, but once inside the actual museum, it was pretty interesting. The bullet- riddled car and the gun display were the highlights!
Lots of fun but bloody
A lot of stuff. Very cool
Nothing authentic really but if you need somewhere to blow some time it's worth only that
Super interesting. Love the history!
Neat and interesting are about it... While nothing is wrong with this museum it is lacking that professionally curated feel. It is in a historic locale and seems crammed in. Pricing for an unguided, entrance to the next room, was high. Felt unsatisfactory and uninteresting after a few moments.
Great place to visit. The owner is very knowledgeable and nice. Prices aren't too bad either
Very interesting, a lot of pictures and video of the ambush scene after all the shooting was over
This was really interesting. Learned things didn't know.
Don't know if they still do it but I remember the reenactments they would put on all is kids could grab shell casing and watch the hiest shoot out Chase and drive out to where they unloaded on them
Great stop. Wonderful history and good cheap cafe.
Not terrible as far as there is a lot more in the museum than I thought there would be, the museum was filled with a lot of memorabilia from the time and pictures of bonnie and clyde along with (actual or replica) personal effects. The documentary at the beginning was ok but the museum was actually kind of morbid. They had an exhibit that was just dirt and fake headstones for the pair and when we got to the car that had posed mannequins with fake blood splattered about, we had had enough. I feel like they were going for a “Ah look, this historic thing happened here, let me tell you how it happened” but it came across as a morbid, glorification of “look, Bonnie and Clyde were killed here and let’s show you exactly what that would have looked like”. It seemed akin to a modern version of displaying your enemies head on a pike and they’re only using mannequins because they don’t have access to the actual remains. I wouldn’t recommend spending the $7. If you choose to go, I wouldn’t recommend it for children.
Neat place to stop! Worth the 7$ admission.
We drove a guest from Panama City Beach that wanted to see it. Left independence La. took about 4.5 hours to get there. I agree with the other postings. Stuffy overcrowded no rhym or reason to set up of news paper articles. Could do away with dummies on tables. Original car was not there. Quite morbid for me however our friend got a kick out of it. Was told they have a parade and festival for the two. Yikes!!! Then drove to ambush site. Again in agreeance with others, Marker shot up pieces chipped away graffiti I guess just to say you saw it was with 2 stars
This place was a lot of fun and had a bunch of great information about the late great and Bonnie the Clyde definitely check out the museum unfortunately we couldn't get to the Ambush site because the roads are closed both ways so we had to turn around and come back but other than that great place to visit for history thumbs up.
Must see if you're passing thru.
Glad we stopped in. Interesting little place. Bonnie and Clyde still intriguing after all these years.
It was excellent the people are very nice here
Very informative place. My husband always curious about history so that was his plan to visit this museum. This is the best place to learn about local history. The ticked is also very cheap so no hassle to buy it !!
Excellent Roadside America, off the beaten path attraction. Dozens of interesting authentic artifacts and articles, framed photos of Bonnie and Clyde and the owner is really friendly. And, his cat Mr. Kitty is a great door greeter!
Great people who run the museum. Lots of interesting articles. Small but worth $7 dollars
The museum has tons of fabulous memorabilia encompassing not only Bonnie & Clyde, their Gang & Law Enforcement that staged the Ambush but also items from the 1930's. Plus a wonderful gift shop and resteraunt on site as well!
It was interesting
Love all the photos and articles. The history you can learn is wonderful.
Nice place, it has a little movie to watch, and some interesting things to inside. Not much, but nice.
I like different stuff
Don't compare to institutional museums, and you'll find its quirky charm a worthwhile compliment to the Ambush Site.
Cool display but the cigarette smell is strong when you walk in.
Unique and inspiring
Details and history. Take all the time you want.
Well worth the drive and very nice people. Museum is comprehensive and extremely interesting.
I loved this adventure. My dad and mom took me here to teach me more about Bonnie and Clyde.I learned a lot from the pictures and the papers. It's really neat to just read the past of these two ride or die lovers. They were true ride or die people.
Nice display of artifacts. The place is really run down
Very interesting little museum. Worth a short drive off the interstate. Drive a few miles further and visit the site of the ambush. Undoubtedly, this tiny Louisiana town would have died many years ago had the dastardly duo not driven through there. The gas station where the phone call was made to report the duo had been killed is rotting down. Such a shame to lose that part of history.
Awesome place to see before you go to the actual site.
Great place for the whole family. And great prices.
Friendly ppl, knowledgeable @ ambush
I was super excited to come and see this place because I watched the movies and read about the duo but once I got there it was really small. The museum had a lot of different items and the man there was extremely knowledgeable, but I do think that the entrance fee is a little high for having a lot of posters and replicas. It is very interesting though driving through the town because it is so small and when I went there, there was practically no one there so it was fun trying to picture what the town was like when Bonnie and Clyde were running around there. This place is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are intrigued by Bonnie and Clyde or nearby.
The man at the museum had interesting stories to tell as his dad was one of the men armbushing Bonnie and Clyde. Very interesting. Thank you.
Must see this place
We enjoyed our visit this little place holds alot of history. I just hate that we didn't get to visit sooner before boots died (The son of one of the officers who participated in Bonnie and Clydes ambush)
Couldn't wait to see it. A little disappointing
Cute little roadside museum dedicated to the ambush of 1930's folk legends Bonnie and Clyde. The museum is situated in the diner where Clyde had his last meal before the duo were gunned down a couple of miles away. There's a documentary about the ambush, a replica of their car, and several artifacts and articles about the couple. Bloody mannequins depict the violent end of our heroes' (?) run from the Long Arm of the Law. The shopkeeper is knowledgeable and friendly. Be prepared for a strong cat litter box odor upon entering, but the museum was a fun little stop just off the Interstate.
The Bonnie & Clyde Ambush museum is a small museum packed with tons of information on the two. There are loads of photos, articles, and some other memorabilia. The inside of the car is a bit much and probably not great for younger kids.
Surprisingly a great museum! Lots to see.
Dirty place. When a place smell air freshener too much...
Very informative yet small and crowded. There is dust everywhere. The owners are very nice though. I would recommend going if you are fine with small atmospheres.
Good
If you're into that kind of History the Great Stop
I thought it was a great piece of History. Plan to spend a lot of time. There is so much to look at and articles to read.
Good
Love it
Interesting and thought provoking. We stopped in on a whim and ended up spending the day consumed with Bonnie and Clyde! We drove up to the historical marker, watched the latest Hollywood film, and the PBS documentary. On our long drive home it inspired miles and miles of great conversation, hypotheses, and debate.
Interesting museum. Pleanty of news articles from the era. Gruesome portrayal of the Bonnie and Clyde ambush. Decent array of artifacts from Clyde's home and a variety of pictures.
Cool place and the owner is super nice and knowledgable. Definitely coming back and bringing family!
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. LOTS of information and you could spend hours in here reading and looking at pictures. The guy up front is cool and informative. I only spent maybe 30 minutes as I was in a hurry to get back on the road.
Neat old place that everyone should see
It was worth the stop.a lot of History in there on bonnie and clyde.the guy that runs it was friendly and very knowledgeable.i will stop again when I have more time.an hour was not long enough.i really enjoyed my visit
Very interesting little museum with a lot of cool pictures, & information.
Quick stop, Great place and the owner was very kind.
There are some interesting artifacts, and the two short documentary films are not bad. It is worth a visit if you are interested in the history. I found it a bit strange that stills and photos from the 1967 film are displayed right alongside actual news clippings and historical photos. Then again, the fictionalizing (or sensationalizing) of these events has been going on constantly, almost from the moment they happened.
That place was awesome we loved visiting there
They too high
Very very intersting collection including the car they were killed in. Highly recommend
Will go again and again
Great food neat stuff
