Such a great little museum about the history of the area. I wasn't aware of much of the history of the bayou or the city itself and this gave a great in depth view of how it came to be. The welcome film in the old movie house ticket box was cool. There is also a recreation of the Rodrigue Blue Dog studio from his personal collection. There's a section dedicated to the author James Lee Burke as well. For $5 you can't beat it.

It's a nice little museum. I visited a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Definitely worth checking out atleast once. Update: I visited a few months ago on my day off. There were changes made since I last visited and the place still looks really nice. I really enjoyed the salt mine room where it makes you think your going down to the salt mines. If you get chance to check this place out then go you won't regret it

This museum along with Shadows on the Teche and the city of New Iberia did an excellent job with our school group. We're very thankful. I would strongly recommend it to any school groups wanting to visit the area, especially any school spanish club. For that matter, if anyone is near or going to New Iberia I would stop to see the museum.
