The house is very neat and there is a bunch of historical info that I found very interesting. We visited while they were getting ready for a Christmas party, which we were told was very important, and that was about all we were told. The staff took our money and ignored us the rest of the time, so unless we read the information, we learned nothing. I would give less stars due to the staff, but the house is cool.

Very interesting structure with interesting history. It would be nice to have guided tours or at least a pamphlet to carry as you walk thru. They have video that you watch at the beginning, but you can't remember everything as you walk.

We loved the house and the history, but however when we were leaving a group from out of town came in at 10 til 4, close to closing, and the lady was so rude to what was a bunch of kids wanting to see a piece of valued history, not wanting to let them in so close to closing. In my opinion the money is used to upkeep such a place, but history is important as well, especially children. Staying open a few extra minutes would not have have hurt anyone!!! Please be kinder and more understanding to out of towners and tour groups wanting to learn more about our very rich cultures here in southern Louisiana!!! Being rude only teaches such children bad manners and mannerisms, we should work towards showing our youth the right ways of life.

Beautiful historic landmark a must see in Lafayette. "Christmas at the Alexander Mouton House" fundraiser is a beautiful event with delicious food and wine; a wonderful way to begin the season.

This museum and location is not only an excellent place to learn about Lafayette History, but also a most wonderful place to hold a tea, shower or event.
