I love stopping in to see what all is going on here. A treasure in our backdoor. This day I brought my grandson to play downstairs in the imagination center. So many good things to see and do. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they are going to make an even bigger and more up to date area on the second floor.

Omg absolutely terrible customer service. For a tiny little "museum" its not bad..... However i bought and paid for memberships once while i was there and it took 3 months and about 20phone calls and alot of arguing before i finally had to ask for a refund because get this.... I NEVER received the membership cards that i paid for months In advance. Dealt with a woman named Carol and she belittled me and basically said she would not refund my money because it was only $40 even though i still hadnt recieved the cards after 3 months of waiting and calling. Eventually after weeks of arguing with carol and calling everyday she finally issued me a refund check although it was clear she didn't want to.

Downstairs is great for kids, safe due to one way in one way out. But there is not a ton to do

Shenna Gullett

Loved loved loved! My 8 & 10 year old had a blast. Large variety of exhibits. Country music, world war 2, Native American, and then the children’s exploration area. It’s not a large museum however, for the price, customer service, entertainment, and location it’s a fun stop!

Deborah Knox

Great little museum with lots of local history. Super fun learn and play area downstairs. Our kids could have stayed there all day

david schlief

For the price of admission you could go stuff fast food in your face all alone orrrrrrrrrrrr.... Spend chump change on making lasting memories with someone you care about while learning new things together. Would rate only 2 or 3 stars, but I give 4 stars because the price is so cheap and there are some cool things to look at.

Duck McDuffin

For the price it’s a great place to take the kids. They have a basement floor that is entirely a play area for kids that you can let them go and run and not worry about them.

Cody Ingels

Toby Pack

I was very surprised by the amazing children's area. The entire bottom floor is a treasure trove of activities for children. It is a great way for parents to let their little ones run off some steam and also learn something in the process. There are even some things for the adults to occupy themselves with as well. Highly recommend this place.

The Highlands Museum is a wonderful asset for the Ashland area, with many new features recently and advancements for more under way! Plan your visit!

Dr. Ike Nicholson

Our children love to visit the museum. The children's section is a great place for children to learn through playing and exploring. The "adult" exhibits are excellent too and our children love exploring the history of our region. The Highlands Museum is a gem for Ashland. We have also become members. Our membership allows us to not only visit as often as we would like but allows us free entrance into museums nationwide. Thus far, we have visited COSI in Columbus on multiple occasions and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in Colorado. That alone, has paid for the annual membership 10x over. Great staff, great exhibits, safe and clean. We love these folks!

They are making improvements as their budget allows and have done major construction plans over the next 2 years. My kids love the play area and the local music exhibit with the stage and costumes. We go every month or so. Definitely worth the membership fee if you have kids.
