REVIEWS OF Proof On Main IN Kentucky

Aurora Ulbrich

The atmosphere and drinks were wonderful! We didn't stay for brunch because the menu wasn't exactly what we were expecting. I would definitely go back for drinks and maybe dinner sometime.

Evan Zaleschuk

A must visit. Huge selection of bourbon and great cocktails if you prefer. Just a cool place.

Joseph horowitz

Just a fabulous restaurant and bar. So glad we chose here when we were driving through Louisville. Bartenders were super friendly and knowledgeable

Steven Mansour

My experience here was just alright. The food was decent, but because I was alone and sitting at a table by myself, I think the waitress didn't really care to check on me. It was one of the more awkward lunches I've had. I had to keep flagging her down for water, to check on my order, etc. Might have just been a rough day for her, but I was disappointed by my time here va my expectations based on the reviews.

Jeremiah Daley

Higher-end dining in an art museum. Delicious food!

Eric Theobald

Cool place for drinks. Very large Bourbon and whiskey selection as well as good local beers. Attached to a museum/hotel so the decoration is very interesting.

Jacob Thompson

Good food good art, please work on properly installing prints lol

Zach Rossow

Awesome! Get a sweet evening breeze with added gin or vodka. Top drink!!!

Sarha Mavrakis

Excellent food. Great service. Art gallery connected inside the hotel. Loved it.

Kaitlin Seibert

It was cute. Weird in a cool and artsy way. I expected the food to be better.

Kevin Cloud

Very eclectic place with awesome wait staff! Garrett at the bar was awesome!

Bob Atkin

I literally ducked in here to get out of a downpour (we were squeezing in the doorway and the door opened). After getting comfortable we got menus for lunch, but switched to drinks instead - because we wanted to. Everyone's drinks were very good, but the "smoke rings" (it's not on the menu) was a signature bourbon drink that is worth the drive and a visit. The service is outstanding and very accommodating. A group asked about the penguins atop the 21c and soon one joined them at their table. Seating in the bar area was very comfortable and we were able to watch folks walk on by as we enjoyed our drinks. Proof on Main was on my list of dinner places because their food is outstanding and I love their selection. I've now added Proof to my list of places to take out of town guests. And I can't wait to go back find out about other drinks (or foods) that aren't on the menu.

Maxwell Perry

Amazing food. Fantastic first time. Atmosphere was beautiful and servers were super nice and caring

Charlotte Yeast

Excellent as always. Top notch.

Schyler West

Eclectic night spot with a ridiculously large amount of spirits to try. Careful of the "large" ice cubes...they're an upcharge that's not completely obvious. It's attached to a "museum" that's probably 1 part art and 5 parts politics. Granted, after a few libations it blends together.

sgraas90

Good spot, the art museum is always something to see. The bar can get a little crowded at times.

Kennard Poole

Didn't know what to expect, went in and ordered what they said was best thing on their menu, and really enjoyed it. They also had an extensive bar and a unique styling all their own.

Mark Neff

Excellent ambiance and fabulous food! The beet salad is a surprise culinary paradise!

Philip Paulose

Really good cocktails! I had about 4 and each time the bartender made a custom drink that was both flavorful and potent! can't wait to go back and try more drinks, wish i remembered his name.

Geoff Riddle

Great ambiance, extensive wine and bourbon list, and great service. Our cocktails and smoked catfish appetizer were delicious. The pork chop and hen roulade entrees were so-so and did not live up to the expectations like the other parts of the meal.

Ryan Fagan

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. Amazing, impeccable atmosphere. Service is some of the best you can get. Food is great, location is perfect right in Museum row, and all in all a fantastic time.

Morris Harris

I love their drinks and food! Always ending up ordering more than I can eat! It's nice to browse the art with cocktail in hand as well. This is a fantastic place to meet up with an intimate group of friends or dates. I whole-heartedly recommend this restaurant!

Michael Grier

Best mixed bourbon cocktail we’ve ever had. Bartender went above and beyond! Best service and excellent drinks! Will definitely return next time we are in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ralph Hensley

Neat interior. Good food. Had fun there. Saw an old friend that was totally not expected!

Jonathan Wilson

Just went for drinks. Super deep bourbon menu. Bartender was super nice and patient with all my newbie tourist questions. The decor is one of my favorites and their a museum connected so you can get a couple drinks in then peruse art. Had some pairings by the same dude that did the Obama presidential portrait. Rad!

Michael Mccance

Birthday dinner with our adult children. Loved the atmosphere...ambient noise not bad at all, really enjoyed the appetizers and dinner. Portion sizes were generous... we couldn't eat everything we were served. A bit pricey , but we knew that going in. Service was excellent.

Anne Roberts

Cozy setting. Located in a museum hotel; a lot of art on walls. They accommodated our group of 15 on a Saturday night. Menu had a limited number of items, but everyone found something they liked. The salmon and the daily fish special (halibut) were excellent. Halibut was fresh, prepared perfectly, with a light citrus sauce. The daily beef special also received very positive comments. Service was very good.

Steven Smirnes

The meal was delicious, the service was excellent and unpretentious, the atmosphere was completely entertaining.

Dean Bidle

best ham and cheese sandwich ever......

florian furgal

Get the carrot bread. Its amazing. Please send some to Chicago!!

Key Gib

Amazing. The PLT was amazing, and they were really kind and proactive about replacing the side salad dressing with nut free creamy Park dressing. PLT is definitely a knife and fork sandwich, but delicious. Would come back for it. Salmon sandwich was open faced and fresh. Bread was the star. Also, I found the brewery I’ve been searching for randomly at this place, so extra stars. Our waiter was amazing, kind, personable, and helpful. Will be back.

Zach Dee

I frequent Proof on Main often and enjoyed the most recent selection of seasonal cocktails, especially 'Kevin'! It goes without saying that this is one of, if not the best cocktail bars in Louisville and their selection of "bar food" is top notch; I would highly reccommend their rendition of the classic pop tart and everything on the menu, for that matter. Also, Baker, our waitress, was exceptional and anticipated all of our needs before we even had a chance to ask! Thanks for providing Louisville with a spot that everyone may enjoy! See you soon! :)

Amanda Merk

This was my first time eating at this restaurant. All of the food was incredibly delicious. The free surprise at the end of the meal was so unexpected and fun. The house-made ginger ale was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

Lynda Jones

Indescribable. Best restaurant in the state. Great service. Fun art.

Joe Skinner

Try the fried chicken biscuit! This is a nice place to grab some breakfast on the weekends. The service is top notch and the food is wonderful.

s sullivan

REALLY GREAT. Edgy art, fantastic food, great bourbon and cool staff without pretentiousness. This place has me planning a trip back to Louiseville. Highly recommend.

Graham Short

Food prices where high -interesting interior food tasted good cocktails were plentiful

Larry Mattson

Food was good for the price

Jim Snodgrass

Expensive but worth it. Inventive menu, excellently prepared food and attentive service. Roasted octopus appetizer was flavorful but not rubbery. Ham and clam spaghetti hit the spot. But the side of cornbread with pimento cheese was my favorite. All paired well with a moderately priced Cote du Rhone. Cheese board instead of a traditional dessert was a fine way to finish an outstanding meal.

Annette Miller

Consistently delicious. Fantastic service. My favorite spot in town, hands down, both because of the food and modern art decor.

Lenore Hoyt

One of my favorite restaurants in Louisville. The food is always lovely and the art in the lobby is different every time we visit.

Lyle Cameron

This place is like no other in all the best ways. The Executive Chef down to the awesome dishwashers all perform exquisitely. The front of house is always ready to greet you with a warm welcome, and the food is to die for. My grandmother was in absolute awe at how perfect yes PERFECT everything was.

Jean-Francois Corneau

Very nice place to have lunch !

Krista Gremos

Great little bar area! Nice bar tenders. Knowledgeable staff. Definitely priced right for some of the more rare bourbons when compared to other places. The Buffalo Burger was tasty, hubby not thrilled with pork chop. Breakfast is what we really like.....buttermilk pancakes are delicious and the hubby loves their version of eggs benedict.

Peggy C

We enter this restaurant bar through the museum hotel. The interior design of the restaurant and the hotel is catptivating. We came here for dessert after dinner. The chocolate cake is scrumptious and so as the butterscotch and the cheese plate.

Christine Gildersleeve

Fun atmosphere. Great waitstaff. Food was excellent. Parking can be found close-by on the streets or lots. They do have a valet if you prefer.

Rebecca Clement

Awesome service and great food. I got the shrimp and grits which was very tasty! The grits had a little taste of smokiness which I was a big fan of. Very tasty! I also ordered the non-alcoholic sweet ginger breeze which supports the local shelter:) also very refreshing. our server was awesome. He gave us excellent local recommendations, taught us how to say louisville and was very friendly. Will definitely go back if I can.

Pam Levi

Our favorite meal and stop on our Louisville trip! Attached to a very cool hotel to explore, the restaurant is equally interesting to explore. The eggs in purgatory were simply perfect, and luckily my table wanted to share the French Toast because it was a great way to end the meal. Our waitress was wonderful, brought a penguin statue over to our table for the 2 year old dining with us, and kept our coffees full. Later we found out it was her first day at work!

Ted Laun

Food and service were excellent

Mike Culmo

Great local food and bartender was awesome. Staff answered any and all questions about area

Ashley Hernandez

This was my first time going to Proof on Main and I WILL be going back! John Garner was our server and he was fantastic! The best experience BY FAR that I’ve had at any restaurant.

caleb gutierrez

Quite possibly my favorite restaurant in Louisville. Service is impeccable. Food is always on point. Drinks are amazing.

Gladys Carpenter

At first, I was concerned because the menu was limited and gluten-free options were required. There was something for everyone and they accommodated all the gluten-free requests. The octopus appetizer was superior. The best I have ever had. We both had the red snapper special and it was excellent. The deserts were good as well. The restaurant is vibrant and the service top notch. Highly recommend it.

Lucinda Sinco

Order the grilled ham and cheese for lunch and get the fries. Everything at this resteraunt is next level. Go for the food stay or the art and atmosphere.

Isabel Molina

Excellent food. Just right portions. Great cocktails. Amazing service. Must for people who love well made food.

Travis D

I went there for a family Xmas dinner. Atmosphere and decor was a bit too much for me. Loud both aurally and visually. Felt strange and a bit absurd to be in one of the rooms fill with giant photos of Native Americans and buffalo on the grasslands of North America while simultaneously surrounded by mainly upper middle class white people paying $15 for a salad. The one vegan dish on the menu was inedible: chickpeas tasted half-cooked and the squash curry they were in literally tasted like warm water. Additionally, it cost roughly the same as some of the better looking meat dishes. If you have ONE vegan dish on a menu of several items, why not make it taste better than a lukewarm can of chickpeas. I sent the food back and ended up ordering a couple sides which were not vegan and covered in cheese. The grits were good, but overall I was disappointed. The waitress was great and apologized profusely for the bad dish and our table was actually comped with a couple diverse dessert samplings (none vegan, mind you, but an effort was made to compensate for the bad dish so I appreciated that). As stated above, I was invited there for a family dinner--would not have picked the place myself--and won't go back unless the menu is changed to offer more non-meat dishes. Seems strange that an "artsy" place would be so meat heavy. If you need to impress a date/business client and don't mind dropping $100 for two this is your place, otherwise I would check out the numerous other amazing restaurants Louisville's awesome food scene has to offer. ************* TL;DR: No good vegan dishes; a couple okay vegetarian side dishes; loud and noisy plus abstract art

Kaitlyn Moser

Drinks are a bit pricey but they are beautiful and taste wonderful.

Jonathan Albers

Good was fine. Portions were a little on the small side. Service was very slow and inattentive.

Zachary Sutphin

Marrow was out of this world, fun vibrant decor

June Truth

Cocktails are the best in Louisville. I always ask for the mojito. Not even in Cuba I had such good ones, and I'm Cuban, by the way. Service is excellent. Staff is extremely professional. But the vegetarian options they need to improve on that. It's outrageous a plate with cauliflower costs $29.00 and I could prepare it at home and it would taste way better.

Daiane Quinlan

Very nice ambiance and cocktails, food is good but nothing special.

Denise Luellen

Go for the food, enjoy the friendly service and definitely peruse the wonderful art after dining.

Matt Nichols

My fiancée and I went here for lunch on our anniversary! The service and food was outstanding from start to finish. Chef Jerrin took amazing care of us. He went out of his way to make our day special!! Everything was phenomenal, but the octopus and bison burger really stood out! Don’t even get me started on the desserts. Highly recommended to anyone.

Shawn Jackson

Outstanding food and service. My whole family had a great time. I would definitely recommend.

MJ White

The atmosphere, octopus, and free cotton candy make this a must stop in your Louisville list!

Jarred Gillette

Best Brunch I've ever had. Started with the French toast casserole and cannot recommend it highly enough. Breakfast sandwich entre, biscuit was buttery, flakey, and delicious. I've never thought of a hash brown as flavorful before today. Bacon was amazing, and fiancè loved her Eggs in Purgatory. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

M Metropolis

Great art and people to hang out and have food.

Jordan Weiers

Amazing food. Knowledgeable staff. Awesome atmosphere.

Connor McHale

This was the spot for our very first date and we went back a year and a half later and the quality of service was phenomenal once again. If you go on the weekend make sure you get their kind of early because the special are always so amazing they sell out fast!

Nick Giatas

I recommend this place!

Derrick Moore

Beautiful attention grabbing art, excellent service, and incredible food... Love this place

Dheeraj Gupta

There's a modern art gallery inside. The restrooms are pretty interesting lol

FOC

I honestly wasn't expecting much but was quite impressed. Had the "hot" chicken. Good heat but not overbearing. The relish really provided a nice balance. Portion size was just right. My party was all apart if the "clean plate club"!

Robert Joles

Great trendy bar good art, good drinks, good food.

Tom Greg

The best dinner and drinks in Louisville. You can quote me. Take a date, take a friend, take yourself.

K. Hay

Fun place. Love the decor. The displaying of art is very interesting and fun.

Ashley Ansbro

Super cool location in 21C. Get the Hot Chicken!

Angelica Renteria

The steak was AMAZING! Great atmosphere. Try the lavender lemonade and of course the cotton candy. The trip to the bathroom was a pleasant surprise through an art gallery.

Allison Baumann

Potentially the best charcuterie board in Louisville. Also, one of my favorite restaurants for out of town guests. Fabulous cocktails/craft beer selection and high quality food. Service can be a bit pushy at times, but always attentive.

Donna Noe

The atmosphere is great. I love the artwork. Proof On Main is a great place to go for a cocktail. However, if you are a vegetarian, it is not a great place to dine. There are little to no vegetarian options on the menu. Even the sides have meat or meat products in them. This vegetarian will not revisit Proof On Main unless they update their food offerings to include a vegetarian meal or two.

Kelly Farmer

Amazing food and amazing service

Yigal Adato

The food was average and the service was not good. It took 3 hours to get our main dish.

Sagar Rajpal

Great ambiance, amazing food, incredible service!

Denny Crandall

For a town that does not have a baseball team, here is where you come to watch the chef hit it out of the park.

Hunter F

There are a lot of great restaurants in Louisville but very few have an art gallery attached that you can explore for free. This is a great spot for a drink and a unique meal right in the heart of downtown. But my favorite part is this is an entire nights entertainment rolled into a single stop. Come for the art stay for the food.

Lindsey Mark

Great food, awesome cocktails and a wide selection of gluten-free options on both the dinner and brunch menu. This place was so good that we ate there twice over the weekend. I love the art collection in the hotel and the focus on supporting the work of contemporary artists. I'd highly recommend it to art and food lovers.

Devin Lopresti

Good food poor service. The ac is also artic cold.

Kevin McGowan

Amazing food in one of the most unique atmospheres any where.

Amber Lynn

THIS is where I go to eat and drink when I am in town. The food is impeccably cooked and the menu is forward leaning. I am NEVER disappointed with service, ambiance, and selection. Have an experience here by dining and then walking through the attached museum. Wonderful for date nite option or lunch. Bravo!

Mark Gruenberg

This was a great eating experience. We had a round table in the front corner under a buffalo head. After a hot day in the sun, we had great food, nice service, and a good time together.

Brittney Bridger-Burton

Delicious food and great service!!

Caitlin Clark-Zigmond

Octopus, charcuterie and pork chop were amazing, but especially private cask Maker's!

Katherine Kruer

Bar menu was awful options for food regular menu looked fine.

Ericka Azzarello

Zack was an amazing server and the food was soo good! Can't wait to go back!

Robin Christophersen

So good going back tonight for dinner. Visually stimulating ambiance, fesh, interesting food that is French inspired. Amazing rose list. Gluten free options abound. And excellent service from the second you step inside the restaurant.

Jake Howard

I came to Louisville to do some research on the craft cocktail scene, Proof on Main was the best bar experience I had while here. The staff is very friendly the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable, highly recommended!

Ramone Kenney

Some of the best food I've ever had and the museum is thought provoking and edgy.

Josh Moon

Bartenders worked to make a custom experience with amazing options

We visited Proof on Easter Sunday 2018. It was a prix fixe menu which we knew going in...first course was a carrot bread/cake item that was a bit dry even with the Chantilly cream although the orange sauce had a nice flavor. For the second course I chose shrimp and grits and conversely it was a bit "wet" for me and my shrimp we're a bit "bouncy" which is my expression for overcooked and the egg undercooked (meaning my white was runny but I am going to blame myself for that as I should have been very clear that I wanted a hard white). The desserts were a sample of three, the bourbon chocolate ganache was delicious, the pecan pie was extraordinarily dry and the "pate de fruit" had a nice flavor but was texturally off. My husband had the "proof benedict" (to be clear my husband has eggs benedict nearly everywhere

Stephanie Henderson

We were looking for a place to eat on Mother’s Day. I called Proof and I was told we could sit at a table in the bar. I made sure it was ok for my daughter, who is 11 to sit in the bar and was assure that she could sit with us. I was excited because I had heard really good things about Proof. We were seated right away. The decorations in the bar area weren’t really appropriate for children. The rest of the restaurant’s decorations were appropriate but we couldn’t sit elsewhere because we didn’t have a reservation. We ordered drinks and the wait staff and bartender were amazing! I ordered eggs Benedict and I was so excited about having it. It’s one of my favorites. When it arrived I took one bite and it was terrible! Apparently the hollandaise sauce is made with coffee. It was very strong and I couldn’t eat it. They politely offered to get me something else. I didn’t realize “red eye” meant coffee. I should have asked. I ordered shrimp and grits. I checked the ingredients and it didn’t have anything I was unfamiliar with. When it arrived the waitress said the plate was very hot. I took a bite of the shrimp and it was cold. The grits were also cold. The poached egg was very undercooked. I sent that back as well. I didn’t want to eat cold undercooked food. The only saving grace was that the staff were very kind. They took my meal off the bill. Unfortunately we had to find somewhere else to eat for Mother’s Day.

Randy Rozayy

Great food and customer service. Friendly staff. I got the proof Benedict.

Joe Platz

Great drinks and appetizers

Phillip Martin

Unique food presentations and great surroundings. Touring the art gallery post dinner was very different but great option

Kayla Sterner

Love this spot. Such a great mix of food and art.

Libby Ballengee

What a cool bar! So unique and a definite must stop if you’re checking out downtown Louisville. A “don’t miss” for anyone who loves art, especially. Very tasty cocktails too! Yum yum. We enjoyed the bourbon flight there. Friendly bartenders too! A pleasant surprise in a place that could easily be pretentious.

Terry Dangler

Excellent service and food

Ellen Warner

Perfect lunch experience! The welcome when we arrived, the beautiful dining room, the excellent food, and the friendly and engaging staff - we loved it all. We shared a salad and an entree, because we weren’t looking for a heavy lunch, and they split everything without being asked to do so. The spicy fried chicken was so delicious! What a great place for friends, family, business dining, whatever!

Ben Beckham

Sat at the bar and they took great care of us. Tasty cocktails and attentive service.

Michelle Armour

Amazing! Definitely order off menu! The bartenders are great! I wanted a fruity bourbon drink and it was amazing!

SeFok Chan

Great bison berger. The roasted carrots served with the goat cheese and honey was a revelation. I could not believe carrots could taste that good. The best was the different flights of Kentucky bourbons and whiskeys. Highly recommend a visit.

Katie Mehin

I love Proof on Main, this was my second visit, as I'd been here about 7 years prior and it totally stood out as a place I needed to re-visit. I love that you can grab a drink and explore the art gallery. The bar area has a good amount of seating, so if you want to try a flight of Bourbon you probably won't have to wait long to find a spot to sit. There is a restaurant too, we didn't do a seated meal, but we did order appetizers at the bar which were outstanding. The drink menu is extensive, and the bartenders did a great job with recommendations.

Josh Stevens

Love. Love. Love. Amazing whiskey list. Best hot chicken. I dream of that hot chicken.

Gary Guthrie

Worth the price. Every penny. Next time you're going to a performance at the Kentucky Center, make reservations for 530 and indulge yourself.

Jennifer Ziegenfus

Quirky lounge/bar area connected to an art gallery!

Cody Epperson

Proof is so overrated , there are a lot of other better restaurants n Louisville. I didn’t have bad experience of anything. It is just not good food especially for the price. The only reason the place exist is cuz 21c. You can do better downtown.

Sandra Dodge

Always a great meal, great service, and great cocktails!!

Chance White

This is one of the most memorable dining experiences one can hope for. Located in a hybrid art museum/hotel, the ambiance is like nothing I’ve ever seen. The service staff does everything in their power to insure you have an unforgettable experience, they really seem to care. The food is delicious and also memorable and interesting. Each dish seems to have a unique twist. Can’t recommend this unique experience enough.

Justin Grant

Meet "Proof On Main", a hip restaurant crossed with an art hall featuring tasty dishes and a large bourbon selection - we expect nothing less out of Kentucky's best! I highly recommend trying the "Chicken Fried Pork Cheeks" or their "House Made Sausage". For a cocktail, I loved their "Double Sided Tape": michter’s us-1 bourbon, bigallet china-china great king street glasgow scotch, orange honey olio, molasses bitters. For bourbon, try their "Barrel Proof" flight: Maker's Mark - Cask Strength, Wild Turkey - Rare Breed, and Stagg Jr.

Dustin Pace

Wonderful cocktails with a huge selection. You won't be disappointed.

David Lynch

Best whiskey bar I've ever been to. Hundreds of bourbon to choose from and some of the best cocktails I've ever had.

Elizabeth Shafto

My favorite place to dine when I’m in town! The artsy atmosphere doesn’t disappoint and most of the dishes are excellent!! One of my favorite things to discover on a menu is a. bone marrow dish. So I was exceptionally pleased when I saw they offered it as an app. Unfortunately, this dish missed the mark. It didn’t have much flavor and was quite salty. However, I’m glad to see they are constantly putting unique dishes on their menu. I love trying new things. I wish I could give Proof on Main 4.5 stars. Definitely will and have gone back again. ....Also, love the Proof traveling penguin!

Cyndy Eng-Dinsel

I sat at the bar and and a fantastic time. Juan, my bartender was very nice and super knowledgeable. 5 stars for service and cocktails. The food gets a 4, and google reviews won’t let me give a 4.5 star. I got the steak medium rare. It was a hair overcooked more medium than medium rare. The flavors were fantastiv. The real travesty was the undercooked turnips. They weren’t raw, but they were still crunchy and hard to cut through.

Tanya Lawrence

Excellent service, cocktails, and food.

Wes Foreman

The restaurant is saturated with art, most of it too avant garde for my taste, but the food was excellent. I recommend the roasted cauliflower. Your check comes with a plate of cotton candy. The bathrooms were.. uncomfortable.

Shanequa Renee Singletary

Amazing brunch in a beautifully decorated building!

Alex Oliver

Visited last night for an impromptu visit for a date with my wife. We have 5 kids so getting out is rare for us. Man, I just wish I could say it was outstanding, but it just wasn't. Food and service were just ok. If I'm gonna drop that kind of coin for a dining experience, I do expect to be well taken care of and leave feeling more than satisfied. And we just didn't come away with such an experience, unfortunately.

Hannah Milano

Love this place. The atmosphere is very different, thr decorations and art theme are unique and quirky. The drinks are really good. This place is artsy and it connects to the hotel and has an art exhibit inside as well. Definitely cool and worth the extra cash.

Erika Oliver

I was pleasantly surprised by everything we had at Proof! 1.) Charred Octopus: very flavorful and fresh. It is served in a small cast iron skillet with lime and fresh bread. The octopus itself had been thinly sliced into bite size pieces. It had a great texture and the perfect amount of char. It was still sizzling when the dish arrived to our table. 2.) Braised Lamb Cannelloni: this was amazing. I'm already craving it again. The braised lamb was tender and paired wonderfully with the whipped ricotta inside the cannelloni. There was just the right ratio of gravy/sauce to meat and cannelloni. Great dish! 3.) My husband had the tilefish with cauliflower. He raved about the sauces and how the complimented the white fish. 4.) Chocolate Cake: delicious, moist, rich, and perfect for sharing. The cream was nice and light and the cherry added a great tart accent. Would highly recommend all of these dishes! If that doesn't satisfy you, they bring you a dish of pink cotton candy in addition to your bill! A charming and unique accent to this upscale restaurant.

Steve Frable

Good brunch in downtown Louisville. Attentive staff.

nope nope

Limited menu but what is on it is very very good

Sunny Dronawat

Best bar in Louisville. Great service. Tea and cheese plare is perfect for a mid afternoon snack

Mary Falter

Last evening I visited Proof for a very special evening with my husband, childhood best friend and her date. I had hoped to have a bottle of wine setting on the table when my friends arrived. That hope was quickly ruined when I asked the server for a suggestion and he laughed at me staying, "it depends what you like!" At that moment, he lost that upcharge. Our food took forever to arrive and when we asked for a second serving of bread, the same server leaned over and said, "you do have a big thing of corn bread coming." We felt like we were at a slap stick dining experience rather than a fine dining experience. We will not be back.

Nick Walker

Great breakfast cool atmosphere. Pricing is medium to high.

Todd Wilson

Overpriced. I got a burger, two beers, and a shot of bourbon for $50. Definitely not worth it.

P. Karen Brierley

Fantastic decor, Great menu, Excellent Waitress. The only thing I would say negatively was my Charred Octopus came a little overcooked.

Vess Bakalov

Killer breakfast. Really enjoyed the Proof Benedict as well as the egg sandwich.

Allie Welsh

I go to Kentucky a few times a month. Two people recommended Proof On Main to me and I decided to duck in last time I was there. Since I was there before the main dining room opened, I sat at the bar and ordered a bunch of food. Everything was delightful. The food was great, the drink I ordered was rad and the bar itself is gorgeous.

Dave Carr

Absolutely love this place!! The food is entertaining. The staff is entertaining. The atmosphere is entertaining. Everything about this restaurant is entertaining. Now for the serious review. It is one of the better restaurants in Louisville that I've eaten in in years. The food is a bit eclectic and not everybody is going to like it. However, it fits the bill for what I want to eat. While prices are a little high, the quality of food was excellent and I would recommend this place to my friends.

Samuel Salgado

I visited this place with friends on August 19th 2017- 2 years ago. I remember me and the friends passed on visiting this place back when we did the bourbon trail in 2014 so we were looking forward to visiting this establishment. The cocktails were very good so in that aspect it did not disappoint but the kicker is this. Our bill was $38 dollars and my friend left a $7 tip for the 3 cocktails. When my friend looked at his bank charge a month later he was charged $108 instead of $45. The waiter added a zero to the $7 tip. This is a dishonest establishment and I will never visit again. I’ll also make sure to alert any of my friends visiting Louisville to avoid this place at all costs. Save yourself the trouble and go to another bar on Main St in Louisville- there are plenty. Or go to the Silver Dollar which is by far the best bar for cocktails in town. Such a disgrace.

Gayle Arnum

Delicious food and craft cocktails plus an extensive bourbon menu

Benjamin Judah

Nice ambiance. Good menu of food, most of it locally sourced. The menu is a tad pricey but worth it for the fine quality. I had the bison burger and it was really good. If you are staying at 21c or near Main Street, I would recommend this restaurant. Also they have a good drink menu.

Marsha Bays

Food was delicious. Waiter very knowledgeable of the menu preparations. Artsy atmosphere

James Muse

Service was outstanding (wbaumler) very attentive. Food was great!!

Matthew Purzycki

One of the best experiences ever. The wait staff are very engaging and knowledgeable of what they offer and how it is made. Louie and Elizabeth are amazing.

Greg Martinez

Really good food and service, with a very cool vibe!

Ronnen Horovitz

The staff was helpful and accommodating with both drink and food recommendations. I had the pork chop which was tasty and cooked nicely. This restaurant is also connected to an art gallery which is fun to walk through before or after eating.

Kara Heck

Atmosphere, service and food all excellent!

Natalie Zalinski

Great food, atmosphere was cool too.
