It was interesting. Your tour guide was lights and sounds and it kept my little one interested. My favorite was the animated Mary Miller.

Great little museum. Portland is rich in history and was the largest city until the canal was built around the Falls of the Ohio. Portland is full of pride and has great potential to be a booming neighborhood. It is the largest neighborhood in Louisville.

Great institution serving its neighborhood, the city and river buffs everywhere. It’s current hosting of Wes Modes’ the Servret History Of American River People is another great example of their creative, progressive programming. Go Portland Museum!

It's simply wonderful! Everyone in Louisville should visit and learn the REAL history of our city. Excellent displays and write-ups. VERY nice, knowledgeable and helpful people. This place is a hidden jewel. Go on a week-day and have lunch at The Table just down the street. (Restaurant open Mon.-Fri., 11am-3:00. Food is great. A "pay as you go" effort that has been a resounding success!) pw

Enjoyed our visit to the Portland Museum on the Louisville Cultural Pass. Very in-depth history of Portland and how it related to the Ohio River and Louisville. There are many fascinating stories to be heard here. The old house which is part of the museum is also rich with history. Well worth spending a couple of hours or more here. Don't miss the newsreels of the 1936 flood, either!
