Was with my sister and nephew we had a blast☺

Benita L

Took my daughter and her friend here. It is very informative and hands on. The Rosa Parks simulation experience felt real. It really felt as if the bus driver was grabbing me. Stepping inside the slave house and picking up the chains gives you chills just imaging what it was like. It it a must see - many displays and facts.

Cheryl Buchanan

Always something new to see. Also a great venue for weddings or meeting.

Sonia Smith

A great place for education of the reality of slavery in all forms! Moved me deeply and brought tears reading about the challenges that were presented. A must see!

Farheen Asif

There's something to learn and reflect on every time I come here. I highly encourage everyone to visit. Give yourself time to explore the exhibits or opt for a guided tour with a tour guide (great for a first timer to the center) or with audio tour (the front desk gives you small headset and there are numbers at each exhibit for you to follow along at your own pace). Definitely check the modern slavery exhibit on the third floor before you go!

Selina Krinock

Very informative and well designed displays. Not a lot of interactive stuff though, so not suitable for younger kids.

Bill Hickok

very powerful place. Lots of very interesting and. Ot often talked about facets of pre civil war American history.

Laura Spiller

This place is worth the trip. Better than other museums in the area. If you can fit it into trip, do so. Amazing!!

Vaughn Durgin

Interesting and our Volunteer tour guide was superb.

Nathan Gaddis

Powerful and informative look into one of the darker parts of American history. A priceless collection of experiences and artifacts vital to understanding this nation even today.

Chris Shurelds

Great place to visit to learn about African American history.

Martika Gartman

We enjoyed learning more about the important role the underground railroad played in our nation's history and the story of American Civil rights. As a black woman of mixed heritage it was very interesting. My husband who is whiiye enjoed it too. We did not buy the extras just the basic ticket so we did not do the Rosa Parks Experince or art gallery etc. We were there about 2.5 hours. We did notice that some stories were repeated multiple times. It was easy to self direct your tour. We reccomended this museum. We we're glad they didn't get thier message coopted by the gay movement like other civil rights museums. In my opinion it detracts from the ma,y miseries that African Americans suffered due to slavery and Jim Crowe.

My tour bus stopped here on May 23, 2019. It was my 1st visit and I did enjoy it. There was so much to see. My experience could have been even better if staff was available to guide and assist me. There was one young man on one of the floors that suggested we start at one point when we asked, so we took his advice. One of my favorite areas contained the quilts.

Yvette Green

A must see! There was much history that I didn't know about or even heard or read! Young people really need to understand and think about this history, the impact, and the continuing journey...many parts I was so overwhelmed and wanting to cry. I felt this was an awakening moment.

Britney Kendrick

Breathtaking place to be! Great view point for taking pics and enjoy the scenery on top of the fabulous history housed here.

Suprina Craig

Nice experience, they have a special Exhibit of Nelson Mandela going on. The museum was very educational.

Destined2Be Great

Amazing great staff! And very enlightening...

Lois Laboyd

Really enjoyed learning history, it was really sad to think a human being was treated that way!

Ricardo Fisher

Excellent experience to visit the Cincinnati Freedom Center. The history of Slavery past and present are displayed here. The Underground Railroad was a real sad part of history. Must see and learn about the slave trade that affected our country. The historical evidence helps us to learn about the path that led us to today. The African Americans who have overcome this long history of slavery are true survivors. It is inspirational. The present day stories are shockingly common. Interesting Rosa Parks exhibit. Wonderful theater has a short documentary. Wonderful paintings are displayed.

V.C. Davis

Very Educational! Rich in history!

Jeanie Lemon

My friend and I spent a few hours emerged in the history. It was such a heartfelt experience. We really enjoyed the personal stories. It gave slavery so many faces. We also appreciated the section one modern slave trade (human trafficking). Slavery is very much still a real issue.

Amanda Miller

Poignant piace to learn the horrors of slavery and human injustice..

Sharlee Adams

What a beautiful experience for my children and I. The past of our ancestors was not pretty, nevertheless we have risen. To see the dialogue so beautifully displayed is an honor to witness. Not to mention the wonderful view of the Banks. Very well done.

James Foster

A memorable walk back to a time most have forgotten. Would recommend for millennials and younger to experience the past, appreciate the present and look forward to the future!

Jennifer Lacy

Absolutely beautiful! I attended a presentation on human trafficking that was being held at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and I was amazed at the space - Both in terms of the hall and the exhibits that I passed. I will definitely be back to explore the rest of the museum and would highly recommend a visit for yourself.

Michael Huster

Sad and powerful museum at the same time. Hard to imagine what some blacks went through and powerful in the fact that many gains have been made.

James

Great museum with so many exhibits.

Steve Heglin

Incredible museum that should not be missed. The exhibits are thoughtful, detailed, and honest. As an adult, I honestly felt like I learned more about the struggle of black folk from this museum than I did in school, simply because so much of the content is either hands-on, or real artifacts. That said, the exhibits are appropriate for children and would be a great learning experience, especially with an adult there to provide context. I was amazed at the physical objects they had in their collection (shackles, printing presses, civil war paraphernalia), and it really made the institutions of slavery, abolition, and the civil war seem more real and visceral. They also have a nice exhibit on slavery in the modern world, with a lot of helpful resources for people wanting to help. I'll definitely be making a return trip to check out their genealogy department and the second floor. I highly recommend going on a day when there's a live performance scheduled. I had the opportunity to see a chorus of young black students perform classical music written by modern black composers.

Vickie Zamora

Staff was clueless. Paid the extra for the Rosa Parks experience which we never got to do because it closed down. The staff left before the museum was even closed. Not worth the money. So sad because it is such an important park of our history.

M J

Lovely experience. Visited for MLK day brunch and program. Well organized and a great look at history and current black leaders and youth in our community

Candace Eason

Touching experience.... Must see

Janea M

We took a 2nd grade field trip here from Dayton and I was SO impressed at how they change the tours to meet the students' maturity level. I will be going back ON MY OWN to see and enjoy the full tour!

Samantha Paige

A truly memorable experience. Heartbreaking in many respects, but the displays are so expertly presented you are simply captivated. We started on the third floor and worked our way to the second floor, which I would recommend. This museum exceeded my expectations.

Pradeep Kumar

Museum about slavery and freedom...good educative one

Lauren Sullivan

We got there an hour and a half before close, made it through the first floor in an hour so we'll have to go back for the second level. I liked that it was free this month, but you had pay options that looked really cool. There is so much history here. So much to learn so much to see and read. The layout is great, it starts the way a slave saw it begin. You saw the crates with writing and the reasons and how as to how slavery begins modern and historically. I thought the modern twist was a good addition to show people it's still happening. I really enjoyed my time here.

bill morris

So.much history. Freedom is vital for all humans no matter your skin color! One human race

Guy Acker

One of the most inspirational places I've ever been in

Miles Bowden

Cleve Cornelius

Overall negative messages. Went twice to give it a chance but both times the exhibits are always stuck in the past. Sad really. It could be a real uniter but it's a divider stoking anger one way and shame another. When built it was l thing $80 million and was supposed to support itself it has not been able to. They have tried different leadership boards. They merged it, in some way, with our natural history museum but it is "supposed" to still fund itself. I believe any group who focuses on anger and shame is not really welcome by most folks in all categories. They could have done so much more for the community with the original $80 mill and all that has been spent since.

Michael Dockry

This is a beautiful museum and should be on everyone's list to visit.

Anthony Crincoli

Engaging exhibits with an enormous amount of fascinating information. Easily the most impressive museum I visited while in Cincinnati. Expect to spend several hours here or make a return visit to see it all. Highly recommend the extra ticket for the Rosa Parks VR experience.

Darin Ladd

Great museum, historically-located on the NORTH bank of the Ohio river. Two exhibits of mention: 1) the actual slave cabin transplanted to the site with a set of leg irons on the floor. 2) the video/immersive experience. It is museums like this, with a social conscience, that makes this country great!

Rodney Hicks

Wonderful time reading about the past of where we came from. A real eye opener. Some items displayed were hard to see/read. A typed disruption of those items would be nice. Disappointed that some of the exhibits were either not working or they were broken. This is not to discourage anyone from going. I highly recommend everyone to go. These minor items can easily be fixed. Go and enjoy.

Clint Davis

Incredible place that we are so lucky to have in Cincinnati. This museum is world-class and is right up there with the best of them in Washington, in terms of its curation and exhibits. It covers everything from early slavery to modern slavery, including human trafficking that still happens today. You can't walk away from this place not feeling something strong. Just make sure not to rush and to spare a few hours for your visit because there's a lot to see.

Christine Browning

So full of history. Plan on spending a fair amount of time!!!

N Kelley Barrows-jipson

Very roomy, crowds did not bunch up.

Jennifer goosman

Very poignant and sobering history of slavery. The history of enslaved people must be talked about and recounted in an educational platform to help society understand the horror and tragedy of such atrocities. The freedom center does just that.

Micki

What a great and important museum! Situated on the bank of the Ohio River in Cincinnati. The museum tells the story of slavery, the journey to freedom, all the way to modern day slavery. Highly recommend a visit.

CURLYTOP

Such a unique experience! Especially the Rosa Park exhibit!

Jayla Lewis

This is a place to definitely educate yourself and educate your children a Texas girl who plans to come back and visit soon

Bernie Hyde Jr

Spectacular, constantly changing, thought provoking, and very moving...We have now been to this museum 5 full days over the last 6 years. It is one of our favorite locations when we visit the area. The museum's location on the banks of the Ohio River in Cincinnati is a stark reminder of slave state/free state divide the museum commenorates. Before manumission, thousands of people died escaping slavery in the southern US, to cross the Ohio where they would be free. One of the exhibits is a "slave pen", this 2 story building designed to hold slaves in transit or on labor detail was painstakingly disassembled on a farm in KY and reassembled in the museum by eminent historians. It has barred windows and chain centers built in. It represents thousands of such buildings that existed historically throughout the southern US in our shameful 400 year experiment with slavery. The museum also highlights the scourge of modern slavery (especially of women and children) throughout the world and the efforts underway to stop it. Exhibits also celebrate some of America's victories over slavery in the last 2 centuries. Sadly others documents the modern, shameful attempts to recreate slavery, as an "Jim Crow" economy, or more recently, the US "Prison System", that we are still fighting in America. This museum displays in historical examples and in art the pain and the progress of the fight for freedom in America.

Desmond Suarez II

We took a group of almost 40 high school students. The staff were very welcoming and easy to work with. The museum experience was incredible. They tell the painful stories of slavery in powerful ways. These stories must be told so we can honor those who suffered and those who risked their lives to end slavery. Also, they tell the stories of the over 12 million current slaves. That is still happening and we must work together to end it completely.

Andrea Thompson

Absolutely amazing exhibit. I shall return.

Vincent Coleman

Dr. Westmoreland is the best.

Mac Hickman

Great historical perspectives that tells a story everyone should hear, including modern day issues that need to be fixed. Had to pull my12yo out after three hours. He was reading every word. We'll have a follow up visit. We had a great discussion afterwards but just ran out of time.

Darin Ladd

Mary Campbell

Really enjoyed the experience, but needed more time without the grandkids to be able to read the exhibit informstion. Many of the recorded features were not working, so long reading at each stop made it tough on the kids (11, 9 and 5) and the adults too. The Rosa Parks VR experience was a great addition to the visit.

Susan Cohen

Great museum - with lots of reading material in the exhibits. There is some repetition but very informative on slavery, the economy of the slave trade and the Underground Railroad. On the 4th floor there are people who will help you find your ancestors if they were in the US (I am Canadian so did not check out this service.) In early slave years the slaves were identified only by numbers and not names and families were often split up. Runaway slaves often changed their names (understandably) so ancestry is hard to track.

sivon williams

Engaging/ lots of bang for your buck. We spent hours there learning.

Judy HINES-BAILEY

A great place to learn history. You can also search your history by utilizing the genaology center and begin filling in the missing "puzzle pieces" of your family tree!

Samantha Manuszak

I went here with my choir and it was amazing. We learned so much and had a great time. There was information there I doubt you would learn in school. It would probably be hard to find online too. It was an amazing experience and if you have the chance to go you really should.

Lisa Okpara

Bit run down but really informative, good for kids

Cynthia Boyd

Nice place to visit so much history. Would highly recommend! Thanks for the whole floor on modern day slavery. Knew it took place, but sometimes we can all turn a blind eye to it. Thanks for a great experience!

nadine peppers

They had a discussion about the civil Rights movement and it was great and very informative.

Joyce McKnight

Museum was amazing. Did not have enough time to see every level, but will definitely be going back to see the rest.

Cheriece Moore

Very good experience. Informational, tearful and humbling. The parking is utilized by a parking garage. There are also meters if you can find one. Parking garage is convenient to the museum and other attractions downtown.

Get IT J

The Center was very nice. I wish there was a mock underground railroad and house. A guided tour will be more beneficial. Also, would have loved the DNA ancestry but it only on certain days. Nicely done

Mrs.Gloria Dunbar

This place is fantastic, so much history. Some makes me sad but so true, you just have to digest it all. There are 2 floors, 3rd and 2nd. I stayed on 2nd for 2.5 hours. No time to get to 3rd before closing...started at 2:15pm. Will return and finish. Mandela video was good and the segment on running for freedom. So much to see...then step outside for all the restaurants you could want.

Dennis Phillips

Exhibits were well done, but the topic was distressing. The depravity of mankind is so extreme.

Brandon Williams

Very empowering museum to see if you happen to be in Cincinnati ! You will leave questioning a lot of the actions of the world ! So if you want a great museum to see check out this one

Rodney Hicks

B Fuller

Excellent experience. Very informative, self guided tour. Accurate and honest to history.

Trinity Campbell

Very historical, love learning or seeing different parts of the building

Tracy Stewart

Carol Griffith

There is an incredible wealth of knowledge in this place. I was glad I finally went.

Marina Higgins

I've been wanting to go for awhile now, but it was a bit of a let-down. I love history, but this place was like reading a history book. The artifacts were really neat, but I didn't like the way that it was set up. Basically 75% reading and 25% artifacts.

Letit Bemee

Everyone should go and learn history. Schools do not teach of this anymore.

Curcio Stapleton

This is a must see exhibit. It should be at the top of anyone's list of must see things to do in Cincinnati. The Freedom Center is situated appropriately near one of the most popular bridges. It was the bridges like this one that slaves used to cross the Ohio River to freedom. Their are many artifacts, films, and stories throughout the 3 levels. You start at the top level and work your way down. It was interesting to see how each state fit into all of this. I was particularly interested in Florida. I didn't realize that there was so much Civil War history in Cincinnati until walking through the exhibits. There's also an outdoor area on the top floor that has the freedom torch burning for eternity. There's a wonderful view of the Roebling Suspension Bridge, and the Ohio River.

Rebecca Guy

This place was worth every dollar. It was eye opening and thought provoking. The atmosphere was somber and respectful, the staff does a great job of maintaining the correct mood. Of the two exhibits I have been to, the one about modern day slavery hit me the most. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to learn more about slavery, or wants to learn how to end slavery now.

Lindsay Grimm

Amazing building in a neat, and growing area... There is a lot of information to digest here, but the best way I can describe it is someone's artistic brainstorming that has gone without organization. Pricing was reasonable for families. I thought that there would be a more apparent tie to the city, in general, when it came to the Underground Railroad. Although I could make deductions, I really wished to know more. I liked the modern day spin on slavery at the end. I think it is important information for people to understand, but it too was general, and thrown together. Most artifacts throughout the museum were reproductions.

Rachel Bohannon

Amazing experience! So much detail, and information about our history that I was unaware of.

Dino Richardson

It was an enlightening and emotional experience! The human trafficking section was a good exhibit to bring slavery current.

Clint Davis

I learned a lot and they were very nice

WiseManWhite

A great place to learn about the history of this country and how it began. It is painful to think about, but knowing the truth about what really happened isn't easy. I recommend this to anyone who is in Cincinnati. The price is just right and the extra exhibits are neat. There is a plethora of information. One could easily spend three hours here.

DRGH DRGH

What a wonderful museum! So much information to read. I wish spent more time. Give yourself 2 to 4 hours to walk around to appreciate the reading and short films. Some things were not working/broken but I guess that happens. I love the interactive exhibits.

Pat Marcus

Uniquely designed for adventure and education. Visit the "Implicit Bias" center and talk to the creator Ryan! You won't be sorry, he'll blow your mind!

J Roy

Unique experience and very valuable perspective. Take the time to do it right.

Mamma Jamma

This establisment is outstanding and the first of its kind in this country! I highly recommend visiting here!!

TDouble492

Tour guides are very informative. You get much more information than what is displayed. Need more than one day to see it all.

Paula Flynn

Gabe Garcia

Visiting the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center was a somber but important reminder of the legacy of slavery and the ongoing fight for freedom and equality in this country. Everyone should be forced to learn these lessons to help inform them of these facts.

William Reed

Excellent museum historical and visionary perspective. Great artifacts well put together stories...great use of the various mediums to convey the historical information. Well done. Previous reviews are acurate and helpful. Made a donation to help keep it running and to fix some of the displays.

Suzy Fellabaum

I wish I could give this a better review because I really loved the content of the museum and what it repesents however every docent speaking area seemed to be set up in a space that was either a foyer, close to a wide entry or just in the atrium itself. I found it very difficult to hear what was being said. I really enjoyed learning about John Parker and the significance of the Ohio River in the underground railroad. The museum is beautiful and well done. I also felt like the modern day slavery exhibit and gift store missed the mark but overall it is still worth a visit and I would go again.

Mr. Tim Mathew

Great tour guide and look at slavery that goes beyond standard school teaching.

Spencer West

Great visit museum is a beautifully designed and informative tribute honoring those who were brave enough to have traveled on the Underground Railroad. A somber experience but wonderfully presented.

Philip Taylor

Great exhibits!!! Very well kept, interactive, and visitor friendly!!

Alex Robbins III

Why is it in order to visit National Underground Railroad Freedom Center you must pay $15 per person when an individual can visit the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC free of cost is it because it's a black Museum a museum dedicated to the freeing of slaves??? For African Americans This Museum represents African American Holocaust so why must we be forced into pay $15 to view our history and America's dark history of slavery and the escape and fight to be free man and women in America

Kyffin Bland

Wow! Must see attraction. Great for field trips or on your own.

Jonathan McKinney

An awesomely historic facility. The staff is professional and friendly. The building is modern and well curated.

Joshua Campbell

So sad to see the depths of human depravity... it was very good for my family to experience this museum. I highly recommend it.

Amanda Powers

Somber and moving, with well thought out exhibits. Gorgeous pace, through and through. I didn't read half of the information and we still were there for a couple of hours. I don't recommend taking young children here, but older children will get a sense of the truth of the situation in the past. I highly recommend as a great way to spend an afternoon.

alonzo moulton

It was a very enlightening well informed experience. I will definitely recommend it to my family and friends. And anyone else.

Briona Ellington

Great experience. It is a must see.

Clinton Hagens

It's full of history all people should know

Paul Berg

Excellent place where much knowledge can be had

Paul Huguenin

This is a place every person who visits Cincinnati should go visit. I was in the city for a wedding, and unfortunately only had a couple of hours to explore. There is so much histroy for one to learn. An actual slave hut that has been reconstructed. More acccounts of individuals and their stories than I had time to fully enjoy. Artwork. Examples of how they would hide in homes, and so much more. There were tours, and I believe even a theater, but my available time was painfully short. Go. You will learn ssomething

Todd Webb

Very intriguing and informative. History! This museum is dedicated to educating the people on how The United States of America gained global wealth and dominance. To this day, America still benefits from Chattel Slavery and the denial and suppression of human rights. Beautiful facility.

Marcus Jones

The knowledge you gain from the museum.

Gregg Walker

Great place to learn about history.

Dawn Real

Really informative and keeps your interest.

ADP

Beautiful exhibits. Fairly balanced reporting. Interesting stories and exhibits. Incredible building. A must see!

Dembra Gaines

The experience was very informative, however I expected more information and history about Harriet Tubman.

Heidi Peyser

What they do is so important AND the top floor exhibits are sooooo disjointed.

Liz Narcisse-GREEN

Very informative. Needs a gift shop.

Ron Baldonado

So much to see and do in there. So much history to soak in. Definitely a good 3or 4 hours to walk through everything and read up on the history. The Rosa parks experience was pretty neat, kinda wished it was a bit longer but regardless it was a neat thing to Experience. At the top floor you were able to use their services and try and research your family tree. I was unsuccessful, but one of my friends found his going back to 315. That was pretty amazing

Shaquanna Young

Every powerful and informative. Definately a place to visit

Avery Rose

The National Underground Railroad Museum is a wonderful place to go if you want to learn more about the times years ago. I want there with a few of friends and family, and we all learned a lot and it was a great pleasure being there.

Amazing experience! Highly recommend to all visiting cinci!

patricia rance

The attention to detail is beautiful snd staff is knowledgeable.

Jamie Meece

Wasn't the experience I was expecting after Reading all the reviews and website I enjoyed the experience and it provoked thought and discussion from the group I was with. The children with us didn't enjoy all of the reading but advised that he "enjoy the artifacts." Glad to look into the life of others and seeing how blessed some of us are.

Jillian Owens

As far as museums go, this would have been better as a book considering the museum was mostly text and often 12pt font. The best part was the "invisible slavery" exhibit. Much more interactive and interesting.

Kirstan Beatty

It was powerful and well laid out. I was definately impacted, especially be the slave house. Could have more personal stories from runaway slaves, a little "reading heavy" with lots of facts.

Samantha Spencer

This was such a great experience. I took my 4 and 3 year old. I was worried they would be so bored! But there were a lot of interactive things for them to do! I definitely want to go again when they're older.

Sarita Sashington

Deep sooo deep!! Excellently put together. Definitely a must see! Visit the 4th floor and have your ancestry researched

Amy L

Definitely worth it! I was moved to tears, educated and inspired. A nice mix of art and history with exhibits spaced.enough that the visitors aren't on top of each other. There are interactive displays and short movie clips. The staff there is very helpful.

Stephona Hubbard

Truly loved the "Men of Change" exhibit! I felt lost initially, though, as first I was taken to the wrong floor and, second, when I did get there no one gave any direction as to entering the particular space or the media day activities. For a long time my grandson and I just stood or wandered around on the concourse not really sure what to do. We had a great time once we entered, though. He actually enjoyed it and learned a lot!

We are huge history lovers. If you are the least bit interested in the Underground Railroad, this museum is a MUST SEE. I would even recommend planning a visit to the city to see it. And, I would also send you to the nearby aquarium! We were blown away by the beautiful statues and replicas. The whole place is so well done! We spent the whole day and ran out of time, but you could see quite a bit if you only have a few hours. If you are short on time, I would head to the Brothers of the Borderland movie first. And then the From Slavery to Freedom exhibit. I love a museum like this that has information that is easy to read and not too much of it. You leave with a feeling of understanding that could never be gained from just reading about it. I love this place so much!

Hope Henchey

Wow, such a great place. Wonderful exhibits. I wish I could’ve spent more time. I learned so much and really felt challenged.

Amy L

Definitely worth it! I was moved to tears, educated and inspired. A nice mix of art and history with exhibits spaced.enough that the visitors aren't on top of each other. There are interactive displays and short movie clips. The staff there is very helpful.

LA Carter

It's hard to believe that we didn't know anything about this place until now! The history in this museum is incredible. The kids even loved it here.

Robyn Cooper

Was disappointed that ther gift shop was closed . The visual presentation was not working correctly. The first part worked but the second part was inoperative. We were very disappointed. Some of the other exhibits were not working. It is a beautiful building. I hope that they get it together.

Lisa Crandall

Incredibly moving experience. The exhibits were well done, I'd give 5 stars but a lot of the screens and interactive activities were broken or missing altogether.

Judy Dawson

This is an exceptional museum that not only teaches about the history of slavery, but shows how it is still happening today and what you as an individual can do to help stop it. Of course my granddaughters learn about slavery in America in school, but this really showed them more of the reality of what was done and is still being done to vulnerable people. I highly recommend this museum of you are in Cincinnati.

Kourtney Nunnery

Amazing views from atop this museum. The exhibits are amazing and I love the way this museum was laid out. But my favorite part was the large cabin inside, this was very well kept and amazing thing to preserve!

Kimberlyn Enloe

What a wonderful day we had. The kids loved it so much. They were so eager to learn and had great questions.

Arthur Grant

Gives an impression of a poor representation of Black History. Lacked reality. The rundown display in Baltimore's National Great Blacks In Wax Museum was more realistic and gave a far better representation of what Blacks went through in our fight for freedom.

David Short

A lot of reading and some exhibits. No concessions inside. Was able to go through museum in about one hour. Think the $15 dollar entrance fee was slightly higher than expected. Would not recommend for small children.

Devra Rochelle

There's so much - didn't get to see even 1/4 of it! Such hard stuff to see and read. What a dark time for people all over the world. Very will done; well definitely go back.

Amae87

Very good. Informative and inclusive.

Kristy

I was excited to go here and see some artifacts and stories from the underground railroad. What I didn't expect was modern day slavery, which wasn't bad, but that's where I happened to start, but it turned out to be the best part of it. Unfortunately many of the interactive parts were broken. There was also a lot to read, even for someone that likes museums and reading. They also recommend that you start on the 3rd floor and work your way down, but I didn't realize that most of the stuff is on the third floor and there is nothing on the first. Spend most of your time at the top and don't worry about splitting it between the floors evenly.

Thomas Clark

Good place too learn some things

S.R. Price

Great gospel concert with Dr. Bobby Jones

Monique Ware

This was amazing!! I so enjoyed this. The best I have been too! Worth the experience!

Second time here. First time was about 8 years ago. Powerful. Do pay the extra $5 for the Rosa Parks Experience.

Mary D'Souza

Too important to forget!!! All should come here!

Thomas Russell

Great (and sad) part of America history. Worth the visit.

Joshua

Great educational museum took me about 2 hours to check it out. If you are in the area for a game make time to see this before.

Deetra Meyer

Many updates going on. Love all the improvements.

Heather Mills

Rosa Parks experience is worth the little extra money.

Elizabeth Henderson

Bobby Jones gospel concert. Classy.

Brice M

Amazing structure full of a powerful history we cannot forget. Friendly staff, exquisite event spaces, community oriented, and in it for the right cause.

Tom Greb

Too much to take on if you only have a couple of hours

Viraj Kulkarni

Amazing place to learn history and how slavery worked in the part amongst many other things. Photo friendly museum.

Rapha

Very impressed with this museum! It was well worth the price and I wish we had more time to explore even more. The facility is clean and in a safe location, the exhibits are educational and of cultural significance, and the spectrum of interactive displays are entertaining for both children and adults! Make sure to get there early enough to "discover your family roots" at the Family Search Center in the John Parker Library! I can't say enough good things, just plan your visit asap... and see for yourself!

Shawna Vilim

The guided tour is the best. Lots of nearby parking.

Judy Bertsch

Worthwhile to see but not a place would go to more than once a year.

Jonas Ladekjaer

Didn’t know exactly what we were walking into here, but wow! Very cool with a lot of in depth information. A peek into the darkness of humanity. Very well attended on MLK day - free admission!

Raynebeau Noir

I feel that it offers a lot for those who are learning about African American history, especially concerning the Underground Railroad and modern day slavery for the first time. However , it's a tad disappointing for a person that knows "the basics", if you will. I felt moved as always when revisiting the topics discussed, but it was pretty generic. The Rosa Parks VR experience was well done, however not at all worth $15 in my opinion. People are able to get so much more for that money for free or lower cost. It felt like it ended faster than it took for us to get set up with goggles, spiel, etc.

Heather Von Allmen

Really enjoyed our visit to this museum. The exhibits we're very informative and kept us engaged. My only complaint was that many of the video monitors didn't seem to be working. So, if you visit, give them a little extra donation to help them keep up with maintenance of the exhibits.

Michal Yisrael

Praise YAH....I truly loved my experience

Liz Barre

Well done... Learned so much... Must see

A place where everyone can be educated.

DEBORAH MOMY

Very interesting & cultural sensitive fact finding that can be appreciated at a relaxing pace. History in live & living color. At point of my visit the gift shop was not opened yet.

Bruce Jordan

A wonderful place to bring the family to learn of the past and know enough to better the future

Kevin Witherspoon

Great museum. Very informative and visually stimulating. Well organized. Wish the gift shop was up and running!

Valerie Barber

There is so much to see and learn.

micka Crenshaw

I liked to see what had changed our history for the better

Cheryl Purdy

Informative without being preachy. Recommend it for anyone coming to Cincinnati.

Kurt Rosnell

Great museum that very well covers a necessary topic for for everyone to understand. One critique, some of the display placards were hard to read due to insufficient lighting. Mainly in the glass-enclosed cases.

Da 6 Chronicles

It shows you the history of slavery. Plus I think we caught a spirit on camera..
