Very interesting,g and well done.

Riggs Group Ltd.

The drive around tour of the 10 different stops is awesome history for this early battle. The museum is clean and informative with a short film. Plenty of detail of battle formations and movements in there. The gift shop has some good books for more in-depth study. The golden gem is the 1/2 mile trail that starts at Stop 3 where you can see the real aspects of the battle and how the rebels approached the union line. It is largely undisturbed. Tour Stop 5 Timmy's Branch is not really open like the sign says it is because it is grown over. They need to keep a cut path down to the original road. Stop 7 has a really good short trail that takes you back into the Confederate fort/camp fortifications area.

Learn our history, lest we forget.

Worth the visit to remember those that gave their life so we could still be fighting the battle.

Often overlooked. The museum was well organized and included actual artifacts recovered from the battlefield. Highly recommended.

Jeff Frampton

Time well spent. Civil War battle I was not aware of. The interpreter was very well informed and related the story of the battle to the visitors in an interesting way. If I were in the area again I would visit the site.

Brad Davis

It's got lots of history about the war between the States

Paul Mattaliano

Enjoyable tour of a lesser known battlefield. The battlefield itself had been preserved as much as is possible given the amount of public and private land which has taken most of the area. It's not Gettysburg or Antietam but certainly worth the trip if your near by or want to take a nice drive through the Kentucky countryside.

Very interesting history and historic pieces. Don't plan a day around it though, only takes abou an hour and a half to go through the museum.

Short on details and documentation. Pretty good collection. Never seen it crowded. Important early battle that is often overlooked. Well worth the stop.

MILITARY DEAD BEING IGNORED IN KENTUCKY!!!! I am feeling very upset right now, because of something I saw today. We visited the Zollicoffer Condederate Cemetery today, the day before Memorial day, and there was not a flag on any grave, nor was there a large flag in the cemetery. These men, American soldiers, gave their lives, fighting for what they thought was right. And they are being ignored. The picture I posted, are the actual stones in the cemetery, although this is not their actual graves. A little bit of history here--- there were approximately 100 confederates killed on Jan. 19, 1862, in the Battle of Mill Springs near Nancy, KY. The Union buried them all together in a mass grave. It was only years later, through studying regimental rosters and battlefield notes, that a lot of the dead were identified. A short ways up the road is the Mill Springs National Cemetery and where the Union soldiers were buried. We were going to stop there, until I noticed that every grave I could see from the road, HAD A FLAG!!!!. What the heck is going on, one group is honored and the other ignored. If we have Memorial Day to honor those who died for this country, let's include them all. PLEASE SHARE SO THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN, Thank you.

It wasn't bad, but the staff did not bother to tell us that there was a charge until after we walked through the displays. It would have been nice to know that before hand.

We stopped by here on our way to Lake Cumberland. I am a big history person so I was excited. However, I was let down by how little it was. But after you learn that everything they have was either found on the battlefield or was donated by people in the community you are surprised by how much they do have. The women who was working that day was not very nice. Anytime someone in the group asked or said something she looked at them like they were stupid or left an awkward silence. However, I just can't get over how small it was. It is by far the smallest museum I've ever been to and the smallest Civil War Museum I will probably ever see.
