66 Lincoln Square, Hodgenville, KY 42748, United States

Average Rating:

DESCRIPTION

Here you have all the feddbacks of people who are buying the services and products of Lincoln Museum (Museum) in the state of Kentucky.

Right now the business gets a score of 4.6 stars out of 5 and that rating was based on 161 reviews.

You must have seen that the average score it has is basically the best, and it's based on a large number of reviews, so we may think that the score is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they are happy with the business, it works.

As you know, we don't usually stop to place scores when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

This Museum corresponds to the category of Museum.

REVIEWS OF Lincoln Museum IN Kentucky

There are two parts to this place. The first is the large gift shop and then the museum itself. A lot of the prices are reasonable and the fee for the museum isn't bad. I don't recall seeing anything I could say was an artifact, more dioramas and props. One nifty thing was the display of local "artists" and their projects for a contest on what statues there would be in the square across the street.

Joel Hernandez

A must for any history buff. Small yet informative

This is a two story building with a lot of Lincoln history. I brought my 10 yr old grand daughter there and she liked it. We went on a Saturday morning and there were no other people there so it was quiet.

Kurt Rose

Very well done! The scenes depicting Lincoln's life do a good job of organizing the artifacts and walking through his story. They make you feel more a part of this history than just a museum visitor. The strip center storefront makes you wonder if you are in the right place. But the inside doesn't disappoint. The low admission cost makes it even more worthwhile.

I was skeptical of this museum at first, just based on their curbside appearance. Turned out to be an excellent experience for my wife and I, as well as our kids. I would definitely return again.

Super surprising small museum. Teenagers even liked it!

Great stop. Nice information about the bridge and area geography. Clean restrooms, well done and attractive. Short walk (200 - 300 yards) to an overlook where you can see the bridge. Plenty of parking (compare to Mammoth Cave, another great stop, needs more despite have Walmart worth spaces). Since this isn't a long stop, you want easy parking, and this has it. I also stopped at the Sandstone center, less than an hour apart and also about the New River, it is far more focused on the Earth Science part if you have Middle School or High School kids. This is about the bridge. Both are important to the area and I'd say your should try to do both.

This is a great museum. It is bigger inside than it looks. There are wax figure exhibits with a tour through Lincoln's life and many amazing artifacts. It's very affordable as well.

Sophie V

I learned a lot while at this museum. It wasn't busy and we only spent about 40 minutes here. They had some great exhibits that were easy to understand! The staff was able to answer our questions and was very friendly. This would be a great museum for families with older children or school field trips. The adult admission is only $5.

Despite Mr. Denner's review, I definitely recommend visiting this NON-PROFIT museum that is funded solely by donations. You can definitely learn a lot of interesting facts covering Lincoln's life. The museum is small, with some parts of the building in need of minor repair. It's not overly noticeable, though. Well worth $3 for adults and $1.50 for children under 12.

The Lincoln Museum is Great! We loved it. If you haven't been to see this one, you just have to go. While you are there go have your picture made infront of the Lincoln Statue, it is Beautiful.

Cool place with lots of history and knowledge. None of it was interactive. Not a place kids would really enjoy. Just a building full of information.

Great place to check out if you are going to Lincolns birthplace, the guy there was friendly and knowledgeable, he even stayed open a little late so we could see the museum. The museum has a somewhat large collection of artifacts from Lincoln's time and also had several scale models of scenes from his life. The gift shop had a nice selection of Lincoln related trinkets and had fair prices.

Mark Denner

Like a bad parody of a museum. The low point is the wall covered by, I kid you not, framed copies of free national and state park handouts. The high point definitely the terrible wax figure dioramas which are at least fun to mock.

To be honest we were a bit unsure when we entered if this would be worth it; but as it was mostly for our 10 year old son and the admission was very low we went for it. So glad we did. Our son just finished a lesson on the Civil War and this museum had him so excited. He loved it! There were some great exhibits and the whole museum told the story of Lincoln's life in a fantastic way. A must see for history buffs.

Daniel Durham

It may look small from the outside but don't let that fool ya, for only 3 bucks you get a very nice museum. Absolutely worth your time.

Jim Brand

We visited from out of town. This is an awesome little gem of a museum. Much larger than I expected. Many historical artifacts. Wax figures depicting historical moments. A great little gift shop. When we were there (I do not know that this is typical) there was a Lincoln re-enactor engaging with patrons and brining the story to life. Really added to the experience. If you have wheels (one of our group did) there are ramps where needed and you should be fine. This one is worth going well out of your way for. Reccommended.
