REVIEWS OF Kentucky Gateway Museum Center IN Kentucky

A

We loved this museum. The staff was wonderful. We were convinced to visit the miniatures by many people in town and eventually did. And we're glad we did. We also loved the historical section of the town in the old library and the halloween themed exhibit. They even allowed our 10 lb. chihuahua mix in the museum provided we were carrying him. Five stars!!!

This little museum packs a punch! My husband and I visited here with our children and loved it. The miniature museum was my goal to see, but the history of the building and "Billy" the ghost were my favorite!

This museum is a hidden American gem! We were told by staff that it is the third best collection of miniatures in the world, superseded by only London and Chicago. We loved looking at all the tiny furniture and other accoutrements that dress these rooms. The craftsmanship involved in making these things is almost unbelievable! What a great privilege it was to be able to visit this wonderful museum. The Kentucky history part of the museum was lovely too.

My husband and I stopped in to this museum on a whim while on a recent weekend trip. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was not disappointed. We loved the miniatures collection - it was amazing! The rooms about history were a little overwhelming - you could spend all day here if you're a history buff, but for me it was just overwhelming. We also enjoyed the Old Pogue experience. The only negative is that the price was a little misleading - it was $10 for the museum and $10 for the Old Pogue experience, then another $5 per tasting, so the whole day got a little pricier than I expected very quickly. The tastings should be included in the Old Pogue experience for the price.

What a fantastic museum! I stumbled upon this looking around the map, and figured why not. I purposely didn't research it just for the fun of going I'm not knowing what to expect, and wow! The miniatures right off the bat are fantastic. It was super surprising to find out that the designer had also done the miniature museum near where I live. It did not disappoint. On the other side, in the old library (so beautiful) the history of the town and surrounding areas is fantastic. I'll definitely be going back to spend more time here!

Having visited the miniature collection at the Kentucky Gateway Museum Center I am in awe of the work that has gone into each piece and each part of the collection. I have returned several times only to find something I missed the previous times. Being a admirer of all things miniature, I am simply fascinated by the collection and the work that has gone into them. The builders of the Cox Building and Russell Theater miniatures were very friendly and very happy to answer any question I had concerning their work. It is a must see for anyone who enjoys mixing reality with an escape from reality and enjoys the world in miniature. A more beautiful collection of miniatures you will not find anywhere.

This museum was great! My children thoroughly enjoyed it. There are some beautiful detailed items there. They also had a really neat air and space exhibit that my kids loved. They got to make paper airplanes and rocket ships. It was well worth the visit. We also did the Pogue Experience which was interesting to learn about the Kentucky bourbon history. Overall great place.

The Wedding Dress Exhibit was incredible. The dresses told a wonderful story. I was lucky enough to have my own personal tour guide who knows so much history about the dresses, the women that wore them and the whole town of Maysville. Thank you Marla Toncray!
