This is one of Danville's most unique attractions! Lori has collected dollhouses and items from all across the country that she displays thoughtfully in this elaborate space. The Dollhouse Museum is a great escape for kids and adults alike. Don't miss it!

Shockingly I never thought this would be appealing to me as a man not interested in dolls, or dollhouses, or miniatures, and yet this was really really impressive. The detail of the work was unbelievable, and the museum had depictions of historical events. It was far from a "kids" museum. Therapists who use miniatures for expressive therapies will find the store an exceptional resource. I highly recommend visiting here if living in the area, driving thru or vacationing; if I had time if I was on my way to another region or something and this was along my drive, I would even recommend stopping for a couple hours and exploring the museum and shop.

We had a girl's day out at this dollhouse museum! The exhibits were well thought out. My favorites were the historical ones, so I'd love to see more of those. They had a very unique "Neighborhood" layout that was incredible! It took us about 2 hours to make our way all the way through the whole museum. The shop area had a huge selection, and my sister-in-law got a great deal on a dollhouse for my niece. I'd love to go back for an annual girl's day trip!

Shelly Thams

I brought my two boys (6 and 8) here over Spring Break to get them out of the house for a little. They loved it! The set up, with road signs and themes, was intriguing for them. What I thought would be about a half hour, turned into a two hour excursion. The owner was very friendly and informative. I will definitely be bringing our out of town guests here for a fun afternoon outing. I would suggest this museum for school aged children of any age/sex. We were inspired to start creating our own miniature at home, and we'll definitely be purchasing our miniature decor from their gift shop!

I love this museum! It is so much better than I had ever imagined. The historical value alone makes it a worthwhile trip.

A nice place to take the kids or just go by yourself. Take as long as you want to walk through and see everything. A lot of details and things to see. A little giftshop/store also to buy anything you might need for your own dollhouse build. They do provide a military discount which is much appreciated.

Astrid Wenke-Sebastian

Delightful! Charming! Intricate! Amazing! This museum is a gem! I was pleasantly surprised, had no idea this even existed in Danville. I can highly recommend it, and if you are interested in creating your own - they have thousands of miniatures to pick from at very reasonable prices, no kidding. It took the owners many years to just break even, they really just know have begun to actually make a bit of money from it. Great experience, bring your kids! Support your local businesses!

Sav Robinson

So enjoyed the doll house museum. I could go a hundred times and see something new each time. Lori was very pleasant and fun to talk with. Do investigative the shop. Lots of interesting and hard to find items. Very reasonably priced. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Great for young and old. Male and female.

John Wilson

A lot of reviewers are recommending this place for fans of miniatures, but I'd also recommend it (perhaps even more so) for people who don't know much about dollhouses. That was me before visiting, and I was astonished by the skill with which these houses (and all the props inside) are built and arranged! I had no idea how every mundane detail of a kitchen pantry, or weathered exterior, is perfectly replicated. And using dollhouses to tell hidden stories of American history is a clever framework for showing off the collection. All genders and ages can get something from this place, all you need is an appreciation for craftsmanship.

Heather Moreton

Charming and Delightfully Unexpected! I visited the Great American Dollhouse Museum today with my 11 year old son. We had the BEST time! He thought he was going to be bored but he ended up being delighted with all of the details in all of the exhibits as was I! There is a section on American History, a few towns put together with amazing Houses and even a section with Dragons, Trolls and Fairies! I even heard that they will have an 8ft Castle on Display! I can't wait to go back and see it all again so that I can find more details I may have missed the first time! One of the best aspects of the place is that there is a shop where one can buy anything doll house or miniatures related in person! That is so rare!! WORTH the Trip even if you have any kind of interest in hand made things, antiques or miniatures.

Emily Jackson

My husband and I went to the dollhouse museum because it seemed like a quirky, interesting thing to do(yes, my husband is a really good sport, but we do love opportunities to make fun of things). We ended up spending more than 2 hours scouring the exhibits, taking pictures, and talking about how amazing the dollhouses are. The detail is insane! You will not regret going. Older kids might like it, but it's really not a place for the little ones...they really won't be able to appreciate it, and the exhibits are set up higher than they will be able to see. Make sure to do the scavenger hunt...not easy, but fun. I definitely recommend!
