Right now this firm receives a score of 4.8 over 5 and this rating has been calculated on 190 reviews.

This Museum belongs to the category of History museum.
Wonderful tour with plenty of detail and and knowledgeable docents. The scent of “hand made soap” smells more like linseed oil and pretty strong but still enjoyed our time there very much.
The house blew me away but what made it special was the tour guide! Is the Grandaughter of one of the past owners and she had so many personal stories that made the tour that much better!! I'm only here for the summer and this tour has definitely been my favorite!
First time their loved loved loved the place can't wait to go back and explore more
Nice aftrrnoon not to pricey
Wonderful tour, very thorough and informative! Will repeat, so much to see!
Visited with my fiancee, amazing tour of this beautiful house
Beautiful, very interesting and great tour
We had a great tour of the house. Our tour guide was a great. So many family stories since she her relatives lived in the house. A must see if you are in the area!
Lots of room to see and knowledgeable tour guide...
Beautiful mansion
Barb took us through the historic "Louisville Palace". She is one of the Caldwell descendants, and added such a personal touch to the guided tour. My boyfriend and I enjoyed it immensely. Definitely a Louisville must see.
Very beautiful historic home. Woodworking is superb.
This is a beautiful house historical Louisville. If you like architecture don't pass this one up. It took several hours for stew or this house and it's an amazing one.
Awesome tour
Absolutely gorgeous place! It was nice learning about the families that lived there and the history about place.
Excellent house an tour guide just happens to be a relative to Mr.Caldwell
As beautiful as it is historical
The BEST History Tour EVER. It was so wonderful to have Barb, great granddaughter of Caldwell, be our tour guide. Barb shares her personal memories that her father shared with her of the Caldwell family. We could have listened for hours. A Must Stop in Old Louisville.
Friendly and informed Event planning staff
History at its finest! You should visit!
Great historic house, brought even more alive by being guided by one of grandchildren of the original family.
You need more than 75 minutes to see it all
A little long but alot of Louisville history
So interesting that the family runs the tours of this home. So much information & family stories. Wish I'd had unlimited time to spend in the home listening.
Beth is an outstanding tour guide!
We were lucky to have one of the Caldwell family members as our guide.
My tour was exceptional. I visited Oct 5, 2018 and was very impressed to have met 4 Caldwell family descendants as Docents. How exciting to hear their memories and stories. How blessed Old Louisville is to have the Conrad - Caldwell House Museum and their history preserved.
Great informative tour; they even let you take pictures. Most tours like this don't.
Really amazing piece of architecture, particularly the interior woodwork. Docent was very knowledgeable on the history of the home and families that built and lived there. Great way to spend a couple hours. The St James Court neighborhood in which this house is located is full of unique homes.
Really beautiful home, neat option to tour. Definitely worth a visit if you're into old homes.
Awesome historic home to tour. Will definitely visit again in the future!
Lovely home and the tour was very interesting, ours was given by the great, great granddaughter.
This museum was amazing. Besides the beauty of the house itself, our tour guide was a descendent of the Caldwell family and gave one of the most in-depth tours I’ve been on in any museum.
Amazing place, a must see historic place in Louisville
Come late and couldn't join the tour, please pay attention with the tour time else they will not open the door and let you stranded outside.
Attended a wedding here, where I was helping with putting up the decorations and the general on-day activities. Many things were great about the location, but the venue failed to tell the bride and groom that they needed an additional permit to be able to hold the wedding in the part of the location that had been agreed, and the ceremony location therefore had to be changed on the day itself. Lots of good things to say about the place, but unfortunately this particular issue really put a spanner in the works, and was incredibly stressful for the bride and groom.
Definitely worth the tour. Rich with Louisville history. Our guide Barb was absolutely amazing with family ties to the history of this home.
Really cool house/museum. Went to a wedding here and got the full tour. Really neat history.
These amazing Victorian homes are so rare anymore! This one in particular, is probably one of the most beautiful I've seen and way ahead of its time. Beth was our tour guide, she was the great, great grand daughter of the Caldwell's. She told great stories about the home and many of the artifacts she remembered seeing as a child. This made the tour very personal and helped us fall in love with home even more! She is like the Freddie Johnson of Buffalo Trace to this home...descendants off this historic places with a passion to keepibg these stories alive! The home was built on the site of the Southern Exposition, a 5 year series of World's fairs, where Thomas Edison showed off his incandescent light bulb invention! This house had this indoor lighting with gas as a backup, indoor bathrooms, wood laid floor throughout, to name a few treasures here. Please visit and support this gorgeous, historic home!
Excellent and informative tour! Went on a Thursday when great granddaughters are giving tour. They are a welth of information. Most items inside are original to when their great grandparents had home.
Wow! Our guide was a relative and she was kind and very knowledgeable. Must see!
Worth visiting. Beautifully restored home with many original furnishings and belongings from the original owners family.
Beautiful Vintage space! Basement Venue very spacous, with good lighting and a large kitchen.
My niece was married inside the Caldwell house back in April. It was a beautiful wedding and the house is wonderful.
Loved the tour. The craftsmanship was inspiring.
Wonderful informative tour from a family member of those who owned the house! Beautiful house and an amazing staple in Louisville's history.
Tour guide was well informed. Also, there are a lot of original articles from some of the first orwners of the house.
Very interesting enjoyed it
Awesome staff
If you are interested in historic architecture, this is a must see. It is one of the best examples of Victorian (Richardson Romanesque) in the region.
A definite don't miss when in Louisville. Tour guides are very interesting and informative. Lots of beautiful wood work thru out house.
Tour guide is a descendant of one of the owners and brought life to the story of this grand folly of a house.
Wonderful piece of history from the. Victorian era. Great tour.
Amazing late 19th c architecture. Old Louisville at its finest! And their website has a handy clock telling you when the next tour will be, very convenient!
Lovely place to visit. I took my mother on this tour and she loved every second. The house is over 9,000 sqft and every inch of it holds a peice of history. There is also an elevator despite the age of the house. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
The Conrad-Caldwell House Museum is one of the most important historic resources in the Old Louisville neighborhood in terms of heritage tourism and architectural significance. The Conrad-Caldwell House Museum is a must see for both Louisvillians and travelers alike!
Beautiful home. Not to be missed!
My friend, her mother and I toured the Conrad-Caldwell House during a short visit to Louisville. We were greatly impressed with the home and its interesting history. Chris our tour guide was outstanding! He answered our many questions and we spent well over 90 minutes enjoying the beauty of the home and the many stories associated with its history. I would highly recommend a visit while in Louisville. It’s a beautiful home with a wonderful story. Plus you just found out it's on the haunted walk at night and was featured on Ghost Hunters....
This is a beautiful house with a lot of historical significance to Louisville! The staff is engaging and friendly, and the tour guides even have a family connection to the house. It's a fantastic way to spend an hour and a half if you're ever in Louisville!
If I could give it 10 STARS, I would!! The MOST amazing historical place I have EVER seen. I highly recommend that EVERYONE visit this AWESOME place, to walk back into time, and revisit the PAST!! The tour guide is an actual LIVING relative with 1ST HAND knowledge & incredible stories!! This Castle/Mansion has even been featured on the show PARANORMAL ACTIVITY.... OUTSTANDING!! PLEASE do yourself a FAVOR, & take this FANTASTIC tour!!!
Love, Love, Loved this!!! We called to see about a tour and they said they weren't open. (the online search engine was WRONG!) I was so bummed, while we were in town, this was 1 of my must sees. Thankfully they had a tour coming in and were able to fit us in! So thankful! Delighted to see that the Conrad and Caldwell families are still taking care of the house! That made it that much more special!
If you like architecture tours this is one of the better ones that I have been on, the docent made it all happen. Lots of history and authentic pieces as well as great stories about the history of Louisville. The tour takes about an hour but it's really an hour back in time.
A must see!
Beautiful historic mansion!!
Very interesting place. Unique tour. The tour guide was explaining things very well. It was good to get a tour from her (she's a descendant of the owner) Nice to know the facts and stories about the house and people who lived there.
Beautiful. Keeping history alive
This place is awesome! Definitely recommend. Add the tour in if you can. That's the cherry on top!
中央公園南邊,正對着遊客中心,十九世紀末的豪宅。
Not for toddlers
Really enjoyed the tour and the children's program.
Great tour. Docent really knew her stuff!
Was worth taking the tour and learning about the past of louisville. Tour is conduxted by relatives and alot of fun. Must see
Very interesting house and story behind it.
Cool, creepy place. The kind of place that'll make you tell yourself that you don't believe in ghosts even though there is one gnawing on your foot.
It is such a gorgeous area
Our tour guide, Linda, was very warm, friendly and knowledgeable. She gave great insight into the lives of the families who lived in the home during the Victorian era and what was happening around them during their lives. She was very informative. I really enjoyed my trip back in time with Ms. Linda.
Great tour! Keith was an excellent docent and guide. Learned a lot about the house and enjoyed it very much.
Didn't get a chance to look at it , was on the trolley bus tour
This is the coolest museum!! You're emersed in history and get to learn all about the beautiful neighborhood
This old house has a long and complicated history. The interior is well kept and has beautiful furnishings. This is my recommended tour.
Fun self guided tours through beautiful homes
Great history...and they have air conditioning now
Worth every minute. Incredible woodwork. Beth was a fantastic guide.
Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Staff is outstanding.
Beautifully decorated
Beautiful house. Would of loved to have our wedding here but the price was out of our budget
Linda was terrific tour guide. The house is amazing...so beautiful and we would recommend the visit to all.
Very knowledgeable staff, amazing historc home.
Beautiful and educational
Beautiful home. I would definitely recommend the tour. Two of the Conrad's Great grandaughters were there giving historical information about the home and family.
Well informed.
Beautiful house, super interesting tour!
We took the tour with Beth as our guide. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the house. The house is beautifully kept and full of vintage pieces of furniture and even some pieces from the families that lived there. If you're in Old Louisville, be sure to stop by and take the tour. (They were also featured on the SyFy show Ghost Hunters. Season 10 episode 11.). Oh yes, they have their share of ghosts.
This old Victorian house is exquisite. The guides are extremely knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to have a member of the Caldwell family giving our tour which added a wonderful level of authenticity to the tour. I highly recommend visiting.
Located at the old entrance to the Southern Exposition world fairs of 1883 to 1887, the Conrad-Caldwell house is a lovely piece of architecture, and a place that captures the interior design of the era. The Romanesque architecture of the exterior is worth spending a little bit of time with, since much of the decoration is unique from one example to the next, rather than having the same repeated across the house. The tour of the interior is interesting for the fact that one of the great-grandchildren is the docent, and peppers the tour with anecdotes from her memories of the house and her relatives. The tour goes through most of the rooms which are populated with furniture from the era and some from the house itself where it is available. The decorative items are almost all from the original house as well. The house is at its fanciest in the entrance level, with each level becoming less so, and, not surprisingly, the servants quarters are even more utilitarian. The top level is in need of maintenance, and if you are lucky you also get to see some of the storage spaces. The house has three levels that are part of the tour, all accessed by stairs. There is an elevator in the house, but I do not know if that is available for people with disabilities or not. The tour takes about an hour. Just down the street there is a fountain from the Southern Exposition worth taking a look at, and across the street is Central Park, which survives from the Exposition, though reconfigured. Street parking is easily had around the neighborhood, but be aware that you are right across the street from a police station so illegal parking is not advised.
Well preserved with a family-related docent.
Great place to learn a piece of Louisville history. Our guide was very informative!
Given the cost ($10) of this tour and the amazing amount of history in this house it is well worth every penny. The tour itself took a solid 90 minutes so be sure to budget your time accordingly. Also note, I normally don't enjoy these kinds of tours and this was an exception for me. A few highlights: -The tour guides are family members of the second owners of the house which dates all the way back to the 1880s/1890s. The guide we had is a volunteer that provides the tours just because she likes to do it. -The guide will flavor in a bunch of stories handed down over generations which is cool because most of these types of tours are very dry. -The house has a ton of items that have been around since the original build. Most of the woodwork in the house is still the original woodwork. -The house was the height of opulence at the time, they have photos that show it looking like a castle compared to other houses in the neighborhood when it was built. -Everything in the house is beautifully arranged and it is obvious they spend a lot of time and money to maintain it and keep it looking so stellar for the tours. Highly recommend!
Wonderful home and tour was thorough. Guide was great granddaughter who did an excellent job.
Beautiful and great tour host
Very interesting tour. Great history, knowledgeable guides.
Great tour. Interesting history
Great place to take a tour. Very interesting historic site.
Incredible opportunity to tour &learn.
Loved the tour by the great grandaughter. She had so much to share!
A beautiful home with an incredibly helpful staff.
If you're visiting Louisville, this old Louisville house is worth it. I recommend to take the tour, which beautifully explains the architecture and the owners of the house, as well as a little about the southern exposition. The gift shop has really cute things to buy from as well. The tickets are 10$for adult and 6$ for students which is extremely reasonable. All in all a site and neighborhood worth visiting.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit at the Conrad/Caldwell Museum. The house is beautiful as well as the surrounding houses. Our docent was a descendant of the Caldwell family which made the tour that much more special. She spent a lot of time with us answering all our questions. She allowed us to see the attic which housed many other interesting pieces of history belonging to the family. I highly recommend making this a stop on your Old Louisville vacation.
Beautiful architecture, the wonderful woodwork, with features unique to the era. Worth an hour of your time.
Awesome visit!!
Beautiful locale, gorgeous music!
Wish we had a formal tour but it was beautiful all decked out for Christmas holidays
After living in Louisville over 43 years I finally went through the Conrad-Caldwell House on St. JAMES COURT. We had a guided tour and she was very knowledgeable. I learned new things about old Louisville and found it worth the trip
Was very cool seeing this old house. Loved the wood work. Gotta see at least once, its worth it.
I have lived in Louisville over forty-five years and enjoyed all the festivities of St. James Court. So, I have visited this area on many occasions. That said I had never toured the Conrad-Caldwell House until today. This historic home is well worth the time spent there. This is a hidden jewel in this beautiful area.
One of the best tours ever. The fact that the guide was a relative of the owners was incredible as she could share personal information. Fun. A definite must if you are in Louisville.
