REVIEWS OF Museum of Illusions IN Kansas

Kelly Brandt

My boys and I had a great time. The price was reasonable and the staff was wonderful. They were all very helpful and friendly. They took pictures for us and thoroughly explained the exhibits if we needed help. Highly recommend.

Andrew Syfert

Way over priced... half the stuff you could view online such as wall art. (Way over priced) !! Oh yes... and way over priced.

Elizabeth Holste

We enjoyed this little gem of a museum located inside Union station. Great for older kids and up. Great photo ops!

Chris Williams

Neat illusions, but expensive for what is there.

you gotta walk through slowly and give your eyes a break every once in a while! the exhibit itself was truly something special, but the length of the tour didn't justify the price.

Loved it

Fun, but small . Takes only about 15 mins to go through

Lindy Jensen

While it was certainly cool, admission is slightly overpriced. Seemed to be about 10-15 interactive experiences and 20 pictures/illusions. Family of 4 was $43. Probably more of a $33 experience, but a good time. Spent just over an hour there.

Danny C.

Not very big but the illusions are interesting and the kids will enjoy it. About 30 to 45 minutes to see and interact with everything.

Courtney Brown

It a different kind of experience. I just wish it longer

Jenny Billot

I have visited this place twice as they've opened. It's a great place to take the kids they all loved it!

Beth Mullikin

Awesomeness. I a blast bringing my family out there and seeing their faces light up. It even got my brother-in-law confused but I loved every single minute of it.

I won' post any pictures because that will take away from the experience. The wait time was ridiculous, and unorganized. There needs to be a separate entrance for those who bought tickets online. There is no reason that there is ONE person taking/selling tickets, AND giving 5 minute instructions per person. There should be one person selling the tickets, and another person giving the instructions to make things more efficient. There should also be another entrance for those who bought tickets online. It's a little concerning that there is no benefit of ordering online, and I will keep a close eye on my credit card statement now. Not sure I trust that, respectfully. I would suggest using the person who is selling product, and just escort people down that little hallway to the left behind the register. It's worth a try at least. While I understand the other reviews that these are all old concepts of illusion that have been seen before, that wasn't really the point for me. It's something to do to get out and be active and engaging with others. We complain that KC needs more, then complain once someone tries to bring that. I would still suggest fixing that front entrance, and adding more employees or volunteers. Overall, our visit was about 45 minutes, and another 30 minutes of waiting in line. It could be longer if you read every info panel, so take your monies worth.

We had a blast here. After seeing mixed reviews I didn't know what to expect but I had a blast. I will definitely be taking my nieces and nephews.

Marija Barusić

amazing place, kind staff and great brain puzzles

Ward McClemens

Fun place.

Kimberly Belle

Very small for the price. We spent maybe 20mins in there. It was really neat but not worth it.

Lindsay Kovar

This was tons of fun. Our 10 year old boys really enjoyed the illusions. They had a magician there on a Sunday which was a nice touch. It was a little hard to find, you have to go to the lower level in Union Station. I’m docking it a star cause we thought it was a little pricey for the length of time you could spend in the museum.

Selena Brazzle

Ken L Levine

Madison Brockman

Smaller than I anticipated but the staff were super knowledgeable about the installations and the installations themselves were really interesting and fun.

Deana Mock

Difficult to find in Union Station, hidden downstairs with no signs pointing the way. Very expensive for the experience. Most displays have been seen all over online. Not worth the money.

Not completely wheelchair accessible

My 4 year and and I had a great time! The staff was very friendly, showing us how to see the illusions the best way. They did a great job engaging me kiddo and even took pictures for us. Kids under 6 are free, adults are $15. The museum is small, but it was still fun. Thanks for a great time, guys!

Angela Sas

Super cool experience but it was pretty quick to get through. Only took about an hour

Paul Brown

It's pretty short for $15 less than an hour is needed to see it all

Martin James

Quick but fun for kids

Fascinating

DeMorris Glasper

Had a fun afternoon at the museum! Excellent spot bring the kids to interact at this museum. Just wish it was bigger.

Brian Bugbee

It was fun. The guy that helped us with the taking pictures was awesome.

Mandi Oberle

I can't believe they charge that amount of money for that.

Ben S

Small and underwhelming. The museum space is very small and contains very few illusions that a regular person hasn’t seen or heard of before. There are a few nice photo opportunities if that’s what you come for but for the most part the space is small, the illusions are common, and it’s a very expensive experience. I felt like we spent most of our time trying to see how long we could entertain ourselves as to not be disappointed at the entry cost.

Bryce Young

Small exhibit, not worth $15 or the 15 minutes it takes to walk through the tiny room it’s located in. Thumbs down and would not recommend

Christopher Delance

This was a fun date idea. The only improvement I could think of is I wish there were more. There are some trippy illusions inside. There are some fun ones to do as a couple for sure. There was no line or wait, so we got in right away. Adult tickets, are $15.00 so I think it's just a tad expensive for what's available.

Darklordofcats de Vore

We bought tickets online to save time. When we arrived, the ticket line was enormous without a separate line for those who had already purchased. We asked the man at the counter if we needed to wait in line if we already purchased tickets, and he responded, "I don't know. I guess so." We went to the website to see if we could call for information, but there wasn't any number listed! Thirty minutes later we made it back to the ticket counter. We'll keep you updated after our experience....

shawn zeller

Well worth 15 bucks as it provided a little over an hour of entertainment. Very fascinating and excellent for unique photo opportunity. It is located at the union station where you can visit other attractions like science city and an excellent restaurant.

For our family of 6 the cost was $93.16 with tax. Our 3 students had to pay adult entry fee since they did not have their student id with them. When our kids are out with us parents they don't bring their student id's. In fact, not sure if they ever carry those. I think it's a silly rule. Looking at them it's obvious they are not adults so to charge them that way was frustrating. Regardless there was a couple fun things in the museum but most of it was not. Definitely not worth the money. For a hundred dollars we could of went elsewhere and got more for our money.

my family & I saw this on a Facebook ad and thought it was cool, so we checked it out, and after going through it, I was dissapointed. Some of the things they had were cool and interesting and fun, but the line to get into the place took longer than actually going in and looking around. It’s tinier than what I imagined it would be- and definitely not worth the $15 ticket price (it should be more like $10 or even a little lower than that) Plus, (and this might not be their fault), the place was extremely packed and it was so small, it was hard to view some of the stuff. At the end of the day, this is what i’m going to say: If you have the money to spend, go for it. It’s a pretty cool place, and if you like posting on social media, it’s pretty instagrammable, but if you’re tight on cash and like “should we do this or science city or an escape room?”, choose science city. You’ll get more for your buck there.

Esmeralda Gurrola

(Translated by Google) There is a very nice guide, he showed us the whole place and it was a lot of fun (Original) Hay un guía muy simpático, nos enseñó todo el lugar y estuvo muy divertido

Candice Harmon

Fun Sunday activity with our kids and their friends. It says good for kids but I would say 10 and up. Mine range from 11-13. They had a lot of fun. We got there right when they opened and it wasn’t crowded at all. Nice add to union station!

Carl E Charbonneau

It was very amazing and fascinating visit. My wife and i really enjoyed the illusionist art here. Just mind blowing art it was. Puzzle and other games were really amusing !! Recommended to everyone

Danell Watson

Fun times with the entire family. Kept the little ones busy and was educational. A breath of fresh air and a break from electronics. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Cool place but a little expensive for such a short exhibit. Good place though to take some interesting pictures.

-1 star because I got a headache, but that is to be expected.

Had a great time with my family here. Learned alot and the illusions we're varied enough to entertain children and adults alike. The star of the show for me was definitely the room that changes how big you and a friend look. I forget the name but luckily I still have a pic. The only drawback I can think of for this place is it's smaller than I expected but all in all I had a great time.

Levi Malan

Nick McKinney

Definitely not worth 15 dollars a person. Maybe a “suggested donation” of $5. About 90% can be found online. What can’t be found online is extremely dumb.

Douglas Warner

Its fun

Lisa Tracy

This is not worth the money to come to this exhibit. I was told to plan on spending an hour to an hour and a half here. My kids were done in 30 min and ready to go. We went as part of a group and we were not a large group, but it was so crowded. It's a neat concept, but for the price point I would have rather gone somewhere else where we could have spent several hours. In addition, I was charged $10 to park for the 45 min we spent in Union Station.

Wayne Harder

We came here unsure of what to expect and staggered away with a great experience! If you like stuff that fools your mind and eyes you’ll have fun here. My granddaughter had a good time and that was the important part.

Nikki Worrell

This museum isn't very impressive. It's quite short and most of the exhibits you can find on the internet. The holograms were pretty cool though. There are a few exhibits you can interact with and some cute photo opportunities, if you're so inclined. With the exception of one lady, most of staff seemed quite disengaged. We were told a staff member would be in the gallery to photograph us both if we wanted, we didn't see anyone though. My boyfriend and I went. We had an okay time, spent about an hour. Probably won't revisit. $15 per adult.

Igor Tereshchenko

It is not worth $15. Staff is funny and helpful.

Trisha Dewet

Seemed over priced... Thought it would be longer, we could make it through in about 30 minutes. We luckily went when we were the only people there so kids could run all over. One staff member was excellent and very engaged, she was great!

Daniel McIntosh

Nate Scarritt

Great time for those familiar with optical illusions or new to them!

Danielle Kirkpatrick

Everyone that works there is fantastic! They interacted with our little group and kept us informed on everything that was going on. Amazing experience.

Jennifer Lewis

Fun place, very tiny spaces and easily crowded.

Yuyu ZENG

David Barton

Small, could do with lots more things.
