Could have had more to it. I had seen the home on the History Channel previously. It wasn't quite like I had imagined. The attendant was friendly, and the admittance fee was fair. It would have been a short adventure had the Patee museum not been so close. It doesnt take long at all to view the four room James House.

Small but very cool. Watch your time sign says closes at 4pm on Sunday we were asked to leave at 4:45 so he could lock the gates by 5.

Jesse James Museum his home did he was killed in seem to be missing a lot of the original artifacts As Told by the curator. He said between people stealing stuff in the past and items just not original but that they were doing the best they could with what they had. I would have felt better if you hadn't told me that I would have preferred that they were all original but it was a nice visit and I enjoyed the story that they told me during my visit they were very knowledgeable on that time. Probably isn't the best place to bring children cuz it is a very small home. I like to thank the staff for making it a great visit

Friendly greeting. A small house packed with family possessions. If you are a history buff and want to see the actual site where a historical event happened then this is the place for you. Admission is nominal.

Jesse James Home Museum is loaded with Jesse James Memorabilia. Basically every space of the small home is dedicated to the Famous Jesse James & his immediate family. The Displayed are well organized & of much interest. Great place for those you are interested in any Jesse James, lots of articles and photos.

I came to the Jesse James Home Museum when I was a boy and again as an adult. I am a passive fan of Jesse James and have been to many James related places. I found the Jesse James Home Museum to be both enchanting and provocative. The staff member was very talkative and knowledgeable and told some great stories. The skull fragment and trajectory illustration was a surprise and although "over the top" was tastefully done. I came away with a solemn perspective that in the end Jesse James, a legend, hero, thief, and killer was human after all. I recommend stopping here.

Nice little museums next to each other. especially the jesse james house since j.j. actually lived and was killed there. i forget the admission fee but not bad. Worth a stop if your in the area. Takes an hour or two to go through them both.
