You will see all the opinions of real people like you who are consuming the services of Exploration Place (Museum) in Kansas.
Currently the business gets a rating of 4.6 out of 5 and the score was based on 2103 reviews.
As you can read, the average of ratings that it reaches is nearly the highest, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may say that the rating is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well with the business, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put scores when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum belongs to the category of Science museum.
This actually nice place to take your kids there. Because there are so many things that kids can do. And also this place surrounded by nice natural environment. That environment make you relax down.
No, really. It's cool...nice cold air-conditioning, so it makes a great activity for those scorching triple digit days. There is a big hall with exhibits that rotate out every 6 months or so; there is a superhero exhibit until January 2018. Then it will be replaced by a Rescue exhibit. After that I believe it will be sharks. There's a special area for kiddos 5 and under, which is nice. There's also a dome theater where you can see films about nature, etc. Some of the films cost extra, but they DO have some that are free to view at times, so be sure to ask at the admission desk! A lot of hands-on activities here, which helps keeps the kiddos occupied. There is a snack bar with stuff like hot dogs, popcorn, bottled water, candy. The gift shop carries some neat science/history themed items, among other things. It's usually worth a look! At the far end of the Exploration Place parking lot, there's a walkway to a big bridge. If you venture over the bridge, you can visit the Keeper of the Plains statue.
Hours of fun for the kids and the parents also had ablast. So worth it!
Its always the same stuff. Kids had fun but there are a lot of kids screaming and running around the play place part.Bring earplugs.
This place is really fun for all ages of 3 and up in my opinion. The traveling exhibit was closed when we went there but we still had tons of fun. My kids (5 and 6) liked the king queen and knight area the best. They have a nice little snack bar there as well.
The dome theater was amazing but freezing. There were so many activities and exibits I'm not even sure we saw them all in the 3 hours we were there. It was fun for all ages! If we lived in the area, we would buy a membership!
The museum is housed in a unique building right on the river. We only explored the museum and didn’t catch a show. It’s a large hands on museum with plenty of educational opportunities for little ones. The staff was friendly enough, but done didn’t seem like they cared and were just going through the motions of a job. The castle areas items were scattered everywhere. The Ripley’s Believe It or Not section was super interesting and everyone was impressed with the robotic tallest man! Their flight area was informative and had lots of hands on activities with computerized education displays. Plus they had a remote control forklift that the kids could take turns driving. We spent an entire day here and had a blast!
It was super fun. Very family oriented.
Fairly decent. Loved the flight area. Some fun mind puzzles. A few things didn't work.
Nice employees and great for kids, lots of knowlege and education
Lots of fun exhibits for little kids to play at, and reasonable food prices.
Great place for learning and discovering Science with your kids/Family
Great place to go with the kids! Amazing dome and a very entertaining and educational experience for children and adults
The grands enjoyed the freedom to move around and touch everything. They played hard and even learned some new things!
If it isnt flooded. This is a great place to walk. My girlfriend and I do this if we skip gym day
I have a 2.5yo, and we love going to Exploration Place! The enclosed play area for littles is a godsend on hot/cold/rainy days. The exhibits are interesting enough for him now, and he will certainly get a lot more from them as he gets older.
Best place to take your kids in Wichita. They always have something special going on and the science, even though aimed at children, is fascinating for adults alike. Plus there's a beautiful scene of the river, mini golf outside, and it's right across the Keeper of the Plains. I love the Exploration Place
Spent around 2 hours there. Plenty of stuff for the kid to see and learn about. Live science show was nice. Good amount of broken exhibits and some areas were pretty dirty. Regardless, a nice place to spend some time with the young ones.
My kids loved it! Lots to do for all ages.
Super Neat! Wish some of the equipment was down.. Like the flight simulation!
Bring comfortable walking shoes, especially to keep up with the children. Lots to see, and worth while for all ages. We were aged three to 83, we were all entertained, and we took naps afterwards to recover. There is a dedicated food area, and the bathrooms are in the middle of the building so easy to get to from just about every exhibit.
I had a really good time, and I was never bored.
Great place for little ones to explore! We visit regularly. Getting a membership is a must! It's indoor fun and we can visit year-round, no matter the weather!!
The only interesting place was the aero exhibit. Otherwise a germy, kid infested "museum". Very overrated
We had a great time there. Lots to do especially for kids.
We always have a great time when we come here! Such a great place for families.
Love this place, always a great time for the family. Ste staff is always friendly, knowledgable and professional.
Always have fun and new thing to do and see
This place does NOT disappoint!! REALLY enjoyed the da Vinci exhibit!!!
Fun! Great experience and incredible place to learn new things!
The exploration place was amazing me and my son had a great time there today
Was visiting Wichita, would recommend everyone go to this site. Very interesting.
Very nice museum! What's more is they take part in what they call the Blue star program in which military enter free. So we had a wonderful time and it didn't cost me a thing!
This is a great place to take the family. It has various events and displays throughout the year. you can pay as you go, or buy a memebership. I have enjoyed everytime I have gone. Some of the events they bring in are exciting. The science fair type feel with a touch of planetary and advanced library feel. The kids really enjoy it too. It is educational as well as fun!
Had allot to see and do very interesting.
Love taking the kids here. We all love it.
Was a super great time for each of my three kids, aged 2, 7 and 9. Loved the Ripley's exhibit! But to be totally honest, I loved everything-really. It was a great 3 hours spent with the kids cool during the summer heat and occupied-not stuck on electronics and learning-incredibly interactive. It's getting to be towards the end of the summer for this Mom and it's places like this that really save us parents from loosing our minds at times. Nice little cafe and eating area in the middle of the museum, but I saw many patrons that brought their lunch or outside food. The place was clean and the staff were super nice. Definitely a regular for us!!
Great science place! Lots of different areas to explore and very interactive. There's a closed in space for toddlers, a castle to explore medieval times, water experiments, aviation section, and the traveling exhibits are always interesting. The live science shows have a little bit for everyone. Entertaining, educational, and funny! Highly recommended and very family-friendly.
Soooooo much fun!! Even for adults!
Loved the new Ripley's Believe it or Not exhibit! Also, the puzzles kept the boys entertained for a solid hour.
I always enjoy taking my grandkids here. My only complaint is that for as high as the admission price is I expect all the exhibits to work properly. On my last two visits too many of them were out of order.
Awesome place!! The kids loved it. Something for all ages.. We learned so much.. I would recommend it ro anyone. Home school or school trips of any kind..
Lots of things to see and touch. My grandson had a tractor load of fun.
We went today on the 6th for my granddaughter's birthday , three adults and two children. we went particularly for the weather event . the main weather storm room was not working . it's so sad that we could not have seen this on the website before we went. we would have waited till it was up and running again. we wasted quite a bit of money for not getting a full experience of the new exhibit.
It's always a great place to take the kids. They change exhibits often enough to wear a membership wouldn't necessarily be a waste of money but you have to make sure you keep track of when the events occur so you don't miss out
First time there, went with 2 kids (2,4) spent there probably 3 hours easy, and could stay longer. We just did the exhibits, and it was more good enough for the first time, we are definitely going to come back again
The roving exhibits are always fun and educational. As members, we come once a week just for the castle when it's too hot for outdoor play. We love it!
Wonderful and amazing. I hope to go soon. Alot of people though.
My kids will happily play and explore here for hours! They are learning almost without realizing it! Not only are the permanent exhibits awesome, but the traveling exhibits and special events are fantastic! We love it so much we became members! Totally worth the money!!
I love Exploration Place! They always have new exhibits and are currently upgrading their kid zone which has a medieval castle for the kids to play in. My kids want to go all the time just to play in the castle, awesome place especially when it's too hot for the park
Went for a field trip, boys had fun, gift shop was good and the Nan was nice, there was one women that worked in front that was nice behind the desk but when it came time to eat she wiped down only a 3rd of the tables and I asked her to clean the table we where at she agreed but started to walk off so I fallowed her to ask her again she said she could not find me but I seen her the whole time when she got to the table she did not spray just wiped a corner part and walked off I ended up cleaning it myself. But my boys had fun, and that is what I enjoyed. They loved the plans and tornado.
I went with my kids and my service dog. Upon entering, a female employee began harassing me about the dog, asking inappropriate questions and dictating how I had to treat my dog and avoid other guests. I was just trying to spend a nice day out with my family, not get harassed for my disability.
This place is very easy to get. I like how its handicapped acessible which also means it's stroller friendly. The place is not very big but it's more than enough for my toddlers to explore. Conveniently there was a kids corner suites just for them! They had a blast playing with the pretend kitchen, tractor and planting carrots and cucumbers. Would reccomend if you have a couple hours to spare.
My toddler had the best time here with us. There is so much to do here plan to spend 3-5 hours.
Very cool and interesting place! I haven't been in a few years but in the past they always had something new every time I came! I feel like I always take away something different from this place. It's fun for all ages. Would definitely recommend and will be going back! Such a great and pretty location, too.
Enjoyed the aviation exhibit; a nice "hands-on" experience. Thank you
Great interactive center that is entertaining for all ages.
When I was a kid I went to The Harmon Science Center (rest in peace) and Exploration Place is similar. Interesting and educational, and I love the design of the building.
Excellent Musuem for all kids from toddler to teens. All the exhibits are well thought out and engaging. Our 2 and 5 year old spent 5 hours here and still did not want to go. A lot of it was over their heads but there was still plenty just for them
Pretty nice museum. Gift shop process are a bit high. Staff is nice.
Neat looking building with even more interesting things inside.
Great place to take kids. Love this place so much to do!
We have a membership here and it’s well worth the money! Endless hours of entertainment for my two year old and his father and I always have a great time too! Friendly staff, awesome exhibits!
Our family just moved to Wichita. We really enjoy getting out to see the city. The kids had a blast in the different rooms! They didn’t want to leave the aircraft room.
Exhibits were nice. The Ripley's exhibit was ok... I preferred the permanent exhibits which are great as they normally are.
This was such a fun place. Our kids (ages 5, 4, and 2) loved it. We spent a couple of hours there and only did a few exhibits. We are glad we bought the membership so we can go back and do more things. There so many things for them to learn and explore.
Fascinating and includes Ripley exhibits.
Always a fun place to take your kids to. My kids and I greatly appreciate how they bring in different exhibits to experience and learn about.
Lots of fun! The kid areas are great!
This is a great place for kids of all ages!! (Including kids 20+). Was so fun and has a ton to see and do. Expect to spend at least 3 hours to see everything! Pricing is very realistic and they honor other science museum memberships! You have to go in the tornado simulator. I mean it is Kansas! Loved it!
Expo Place is always a favorite with the little kids. Safe place to run (walk) and explore. Lots of imagination and engagement. Plus I got a front row parking spot
This was our second visit. Our group has kids ranging from age 1 to 15 and several adults and everyone enjoys our time there. Our only regreat is that we didn't arrive earlier in the day as we could have spent more time enjoying the exhibits, building towers and playing in the play zone. We all enjoy the mind benders as well. HIGHLY recommend.
always love this place. Love the different exibitions they have. And a very fun place for the family. Lots for kiddos to do
Great place for the family to come learn and have fun. Check out the live science shows, they are free with admission. Their dome shows are the cheapest anywhere around and you get a superior product.
Very cool museum for kids, has a planetarium and an IMAX theatre. It also hosts traveling exhibits from time to time.
Great place for kids of all ages, Ripley's believe it or not exhibit
Take all of the kids, pack them in the car, and go here as soon as you can. It's a great education center with plenty for kids and adults to do. I will say that the snack bar is a bit expensive, so maybe eat before you get there or plan to go out to eat somewhere in the area afterward. But by all means, make sure you make it to the Exploration Place.
Enjoyed the Ripley's Believe It or Not exhibits. Always enjoy shows in the dome. Great place to go for the family.
We absolutely loved it. It’s a great place for children of all ages.
A family friendly place for all ages.
Absolutely love coming here with my child. Always have great hand on experiences & great 45 minute movies in the dome. Worth the trip and price of admission.
On a family weekend away. Ran out of time for the Zoo soy son suggest seeing a show at the Dome and visiting Exploration Place. Their theme right now is Ripleys Believe It or Not which the exhibit is fully set up to spend time in and walk through. This place is an amazing Science and very affordable. Also a machine you go in to feel what a tornado is like. Another using fog to show how the wind comes together, creating a tornado. A dig center about dinosaurs and fossils, an exibit to show how ks used to be an ocean floor, building block center, exhibit of miniature KS. Aviation center. There's also a snack area to sit down and eat. Has concessions type food and drinks. Very hand on. My daughter is 16 and loved it as much as my 12 yr old son. Also toddler friendly. Something for everyone. The Dome is spectacular. No words or pictures do it justice. Very very affordable. It was the best part. Shows are 1 hr long National Geographic presentation and shows are run hourly. Its very beautiful. Audio is done by very small holes in dome that project sound through the screen for a compete 360°surround experience.
Dont bring a teen- 13+ here. But cool place.
Great educational science and exploration museum. Geared toward kids, however, something for everyone and I learn as much as the children. Always clean and cute gift shop.
Fun for the whole family. Great exhibits and a place for the kids to run crazy!
Lots for kids to do, had a nice flow. Reciprocity membership with other museums.
Must be under new management the place is absolutely filthy. I was embarrassed I took some friends from out of town to see it.
My son has attended many camps here and even had a birthday party here. Love this place
Fun, hands-on museum especially good for preschool and early elementary kids.
A great time for children and fun for adults!
Great for the young and old alike. Takes 3 or 4 hours to see and do everything.
Kids always have fun. Never disappoints
My 3 year old daughter really enjoys this place. Her favorite locations are the Medieval play castle and the young explorers room. The explorers room is great if you have very young children because it's and enclosed space that is safe and you don't need to worry as much about your child getting away. The castle is great but does require a little more supervision. It's clearly meant for older children. All in all a great time was had.
Amazing hands on exhibits with perfect blend of awe and education.
Been a member for several years the kids love it & it's something fun to do to get out on a hot day.
So much to do. Grandkids Love everything ❤️
They have a lot of fun interactive things to do. It's fun for adults and small kiddos.
Was Awesome time with the family. We had all age groups and there was something for everyone!
This is a wonderful children's museum! Great place to take the kids and family too. The exhibits are all hands-on and very high quality. Highly recommended, will come again….
Exploration Place is great place for kids. There are plenty of hands on activities for children. We enjoyed the Super hero exhibit. You can take pictures with Batman, Ironman, and the Hulk. The wind tunnel was fun.The Kansas exhibit was neat. I liked the buffalo display.Exploration Place is reasonably priced for families. Also, it is near the Keeper of the plains. I would recommend that you do both.
We have gotten to where we really love EP21 nights at Exploration Place. Its one Thursday a month that they stay open late just for adults. We can run around like kids but with alcohol and food trucks. Absolutely love the rotating exhibits. It really has been a great place for Wichita to have. Their Secret Spy exhibit is so much fun. We literally spent 2 hrs in the exhibit and had no idea-it was just that much fun!
Had a great time here. I really enjoyed screen in the dome theater. It was cool learning about the pandas. The staff was nice and friendly. Cool place to visit for all ages and cost efficient.
Great educational experience for children and adults alike. Worth the entry fee.
Such a wonderful low cost activity for a cold day. My cousin and I had a blast. We loved watching Great White Sharks on the dome screen! Mini Kansas was phenomenal. So many things to do and see! It made my visit to Wichita even more enjoyable than it already was.
Good place to even just walk around outside near the keeper. I am never harassed when on premise being respectful.
Always a fun experience!!! Exhibits change frequently enough to keep it a new experience each time, and favorites are kept as well. Friendly and helpful staff!
There are so many things to learn about and so many things to do and interact with.. my grandkids have an absolute blast here!
There's always so much to do. We've been several times and the kids always have a blast. The traveling exhibits are awesome but the plane area is always our favorite.
My kids had so much fun an so did i. They got to learn about different parts of history an it's a great family fun place.
Love this place. My kids love this place. They have a whole miniature city. Fresh.
Having kids is what makes the Exploration Place worth it. Occasionally they have more adult oriented displays come around, but more often they're kid friendly while being technical enough to account for the adults in attendance. If you have younger kids, they have some awesome play areas for kids of all ages. If you live close, a membership is definitely worth it.
It's good science center for kids 2 to 12ish. We have yet to ever do the planetarium or theatre cause we are too busy doing all the interactive exhibits. A great place to take the kids on rainy day.
Always have fun when I go, usually learn something new and enjoy learning it. Amazing place to go to with family and friends to have “family friendly” time. If you’ve been before there’s always something new you can do there with the rotating topics the Exploration Place hosts. I’ve enjoyed it since I was old enough to remember and still like going there.
Super fun place to play! They have so many hands on things for kids (and adults) to explore. The area for kids 5 years and younger is amazing.
Fun place for kids, love that they added an area just for the little ones with a door to help keep them in while their free to explore, a little pricey for a large family though
Great place for kids to learn and families to have a fun outing and they always change what's happening there so you always get to see new things.
Bit expensive, but some events are fun. Ripley's believe it or not was fun and interesting. If they do any Halloween event this year, I hope they REALLY improve on it. Seemed like what they made most important, was the alcohol areas. Not really anything had fright to it. In a space like that, a haunted house type area would be great. Thought that's what the castle would be, but no jump scares, or very scary displays.
My family has come here a couple times now and we enjoy spending the whole day here. The airplane exhibit is our favorite and really interactive and so much fun for kids and adults. At first I wasn’t sure if my toddler would be too small to enjoy the exhibits but she had an absolute blast and was able to fully participate in most of the exhibits. Exploration Place is so much fun!
Really enjoyed Members Only Night. Thank you for doing this. Great perks
Air conditioning in a hot day. And fun for the whole family.
Had never been before. Had a blast. Things for little ones all the way up to the adults.
Awesome fun for my family. Me and my kids had a blast
My kids really enjoy EP. This is the annual pass we get for Christmas...the weather is always nice inside. ;) The science shows are fun.
Large and a number of great exhibits all of which are engaging
Great place for kids and adults! Lots of neat, interactive exhibits. There’s even an adorable play area for specifically for kids under 5, with a further enclosed section for babies! The building itself is pretty cool, as it’s situated on the Arkansas River. My only suggestion for improvement is to expand the cafe. We would’ve loved to not have to interrupt our visit by leaving the museum for lunch!
Wonderful Science Education center for kids, big and small! Amazing gift shop! So much to see, and explore! A hands-on, and brains-on experience!
My daughter loves coming here. Has a lot of fun. They change things out occasionally so there are some new things to see.
BLUE STAR MUSEUM! This place was absolutely amazing! I have three children that range from 1 year to 7 years and everyone had a great time. Military gets free admission (up to 5 people per military ID)
Very good. End always they have interesting exhibitions.
We have a family membership which is comparably very inexpensive and at first I wasn't sure how much we would use it, I mean, how many times would the kids actually enjoy going when most of the exhibits are permanent. They love this place! Even the permanent exhibits don't seem to get old for them. My kids are currently 11, 8, & 5 and we have been going for at least 4 years now. We all enjoy the traveling exhibits and especially the mini makers fair every July but the kids also enjoy the permanent exhibits and all the creative play options and for us adults it's a great option on rainy days when the kids need to get some energy out. Sometimes we bring friends and I can sit with my friend and watch the kids have fun while we talk. We have also enjoyed using the reciprocal membership in places like OK City, KC, Denver, and Indianapolis. Many of those museums have higher entrance fees than exploration place does but because we already had a membership here we got in free there and it made our vacation a little bit less expensive while giving us all great new experiences.
A little pricey, good place to go now & then with the kids. The shows in their theater are always good that we've seen.
The Exploration Place is always a blast for my kids. If you don't go when it's busy, it will be a blast for you, too. Plenty to learn and do. Our favorite is the trains and the castle.
This place was easy to get to and GREAT to be partaking of their displays. We took Cameron and Caty and they loved it they worked puzzles, did experiments, flew flight simulators experienced many things not available elsewhere. Plan your day around it it's big. Staff was wonderful and the prices totally reasonable. The 6 & 7 year olds and the 70 year's old all loved it.
Update~ Still live this place! I live taking the kids and learning things with them or going on missions and such. They love it also and it is quality family time!
So much fun and the traveling events always make it awesome.
The place is falling apart, the wonder it had 5 years ago is gone, it’s basically a low budget children’s museum that charges twice as much.
They have a lot of fun.
I have lived in Kansas well over 30 years have been by here but never came here I will have to come back again with my 11 year old
Great place to visit and learn. Nice for grandchildren and grandparents alike. Always have new displays, on hand learning. Also a 360 degree movie screen for informational purposes. Very clean, wheelchair ♿ and handicap parking. Staff very nice and well informed.
My daughter and i saw story of pandas by National Geographic but on imax screen so super cool. We want to see the Apollo story next time, and, its only $5 so cheap date right?! Very cool. Joey g.
Cool idea, wish there was re-entry for after naps. Pretty chaotic when we went, I like that it meshed museum with play, but for my age of kids (3 and 2) a lot of it was boring.
A very good place to spend the day with your family. Many interactive displays for everyone to use. They also have a display that changes every so often and provides some new things for the kids and family to learn about. The IMAX theater is amazing and make you feel like your in the movie.
Great place to take the family for a day of fun
So much fun! Educational, exciting, and everything a children’s museum should be. Will most likely get a membership so we can come all the time!
We visited with our two children and our nephew (ages 1, 2, and 8). They had ample areas for the toddlers to run and play. They had displays for Ripley's Believe it or Not that were awesome. The volunteers and staff were also really nice. They have a military and police officer discount too.
The traveling exhibits are always fantastic! The done theatre is fun, but freezing. Bring a jacket if you plan on seeing a show.
Love Exploration Place! We have the family pass. Great for too cold, too hot or rainy days...or when you have an hour or two between things and just don't want to go home to messy the house or spend money
Went for a wedding and it was a pretty good set up. The wedding was beautiful.
My homeschooled kids love the play area and mom loves the educational trip out of the house!
The Ripley's or not exhibit was good, but there have been better ones that I've enjoyed morr.
A great place to take your kid is in the KSN studio!
Great for big and small kids. Fun for adults too. Lots of interesting and hands on stuff. Free parking, easy to find. Close to down town and the water walk. It's in the same parking lot as the "keeper of the plains" a 400 plus foot metal statue at the fork of the river. Also worth looking at and is free too. Excellent place to spend a day at.
Took 3 grandkids and they had a blast for 3 hours. They really liked the Dome theatre. Thanks for a good time on a rainy day.
Great place to take the kids for an outing.
Wonderful! My 1 year old had a blast in the section specially made for him I will return!
The kiddos had a great time at the summer camps offered at Exploration Place.
I enjoy the Hands-On experience
Love going here with my family! Always a lot to learn, and the rotating exhibit makes it even better for going back time after time!
