You will be able to see all the reviews of real people like you who are using the products and services of Cosmosphere (Museum) in the state of Kansas.
At present this firm has a score of 4.8 stars over 5 and that rating was based on 1277 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is basically the highest, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the evaluation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to write tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum is classified in the category of Science museum.
I LOVE this place!! Filled with incredible history from the inception of the rocket in WWII to what space exploration is now. Amazing displays, actual artifacts and great readings to go along with it all. I highly recommend giving yourself 3 hours minimum to go thru just the museum alone. That doesn't include the movies and simulator. I'm in awe this place even has the last 2 panels of wall taken down between East and West Germany. This is a gem for Hutchinson and Kansas overall.
Self-guided tour is reasonably priced and takes a little more than an hour. There are artifacts and history pieces in every nook and cranny - in fact as this was not my first visit, I commented about what I thought were new pieces and my daughter was quick to point out they had been there years ago, I'd just missed them. That being said, it is easy to overlook corners because the amount of items in the collection are overwhelming. I do wish there was more interactive pieces and less videos, but that's just the kid in me.
Amazing displays and fun to visit. Wish we had had more time to spend there.
Lots of authentic artifacts of space flight from both the US and Russia. The museum begins at the dawn of rocket flight after world war 1, all the way up to modern day space endeavors. The museum has elevators and is wheelchair and stroller friendly.
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE ! Love the film on Cuba !The exhibits were fantastic !!
Great experience! Make sure you come with lots of time to read all the info. Would not recommend for small kids.
My son really enjoyed it the only down side is that a couple of things were closed off or not working. But still was worth it.
Was able to see pur Granddaughter graduate Space Camp 201.
It's awesome! Educational! Fun! The staff is very friendly & great w kids! We celebrated my son's 7th & this yr, his 9th bday here! We had a blast!
Even better than I remember! I grew up in Hutchinson and went to the Cosmosphere all of the time. Taking my kids to experience all that they have to offer was a blast, and they learned a lot. It's a great place to enthuse young scientists about space and engineering. Definitely worth your time! We caught them on a slow day, so the staff was relaxed and spent extra time explaining everything and spoke very encouragingly to my two kids. I couldn't recommend it more!
Loved it and just so much great info.
I went here for a Girl Scout overnight badge activity, and we all loved it. There were so many wonderful and exciting things to look at. The staff were wonderful with the girls and kept them engaged the whole time, which is hard to do with 2nd graders. My only complaint is that it is so far from where we live. I would definitely come here again.
It's a wonderful place a definite must see..
Love that Kansas has this incredible, interactive space history museum! It gets better every time my family goes!!
This place has tons of information and interesting space related items. I was super happy to find the Apollo 13 capsule and an SR-71 Blackbird here. They also have an extremely rare (1 of only 5 left on Earth) metal sphere that the Russians left on the moon when they first hit it. There was rare letters and post cards and a large hunk of moon rock. The reason the museum doesn’t get a five star rating is the lack of hands on activities for younger kids and no educational staff on hand. If you visit Huntsvilles Rocket Center, they have retired scientists from NASA on hand to explain things. The front desk staff was nice, but there wasn’t a staff member anywhere in the place to answer questions. This place is still amazing and you should plan on spending 3-4 hours exploring it. If you have little kids that can’t read museum displays well, then they will be bored.
Great museum, store, café, concession stand, theaters, and lots of stuff for the families to do. It's also a Smithsonian Museums Affiliated
Came up for my son's school field trip! My how things have changed here I think the last time I was here was when I was in Boy scouts in the early 1990's! Still a great place to learn at.
Awesome place to make kids learn about space crafts and much more. The shows are must watch. I loved this place
this is a tremendous museum and is world class
What a great place to visit! My kid learned a lot about space and it very hands on! Lots of incentives to follow the dream to be in space. She's told everyone about it! Worth the drive!
I really enjoyed my experience at the cosmosphere. The people running the exhibits were all awesome to talk to.
Great place to visit. You learn and see a lot about space, flight and the history of it. They have great displays.
Our sons find it amazing even at 18 and 22 yrs old. We stop by every yr at fair time. Really enjoy the artifacts and the shows available.
I love the Cosmosphere because it's a really fun educational place. The camps there are also really cool.
I had a good time. It's worth the trip.
Best collection of Soviet and American space artifacts anywhere.
World class museum locally, what more could you ask for??? Love this place!
A great museum of the early decades of the space program. Many original artifacts including Apollo 13 Command Module and a moon rock.
Amazing artifacts from the early days of rockets through early space flight. Learn the basic concept of how rockets work & the dangers of them. It is a must see.
There are many historically and technically significant objects in display. There are also excellent mockups and displays explaining technical and historical details. My only complaint is that lighting was often insufficient to see the exhibits fully. I would certainly return to see the SR-71, Apollo 13 command module and V2.
Outstanding ... much better than we anticipated!! The collection of U.S. space artifacts tells the story of the space race with incredible clarity! A must see if you're near Hutchinson, Kansas!
Good for decent family children outing..
Kids really liked it. Bunch of fun stuff. You'll need to make an entire day out of it.
An awesome Space exhibit! Best place in the Midwest for Space!
Great history. They are going to do renovations so would check before going
Great movie of Apollo 11. But hurry ending soon. Great space museum and cold war.
Fantastic display of the history regarding rockets for wartime use & space exploration. Intriguing artifacts educationaly displayed.
Wow. The first time I went here I was just in shock with how cool it was! I spent hours looking at the artifacts and reading all the interesting signs. I even left with some freeze dried ice cream!! Great place to bring any family or friends you have visiting the town.
Old, outdated, overpriced, good cheese sticks
Great museum, a lot of great exhibits, information. Fun educational experience.
Had a great day here
This was an amazing experience! When we first walked in there was a man who was incredibly enthusiastic and knowledgeable, told us what the museum offered and where everything was. We got the all day pass, wish we had gone a few hours sooner, we were there for 6 hours and it still wasn’t enough to see everything! They have so many incredible artifacts, and original authentic memorabilia, both American and Russian, lots of information explaining every part of space exploration and every artifact. I can not recommend this place enough, this should be as high on your bucket list as Mt. Rushmore or the Smithsonian!! This place is a MUST SEE
Interesting place if like to learn about stars and constellations.
This place is awesome. You could get lost here!!
Amazing collection of aerospace models and original space flown artifacts
The museum was in the basement of the building and it felt a little too packed. There was good information but nothing I haven’t heard or seen. I went with three children and their favorite parts were some of the hands on things. Not many but the ones that were there were ok. Also no restroom in the basement. Had to ride up the elevator a few times to get to it. Overall, it’s fine for adults who are really interested in some spacecraft information. The blue angel simulator at the exit was the most fun. $5 to ride per person. The gift shop was fun too!
This museum is mind-boggling. It surpasses anything we've seen at Cape Canaveral or the Smithsonian in Washington DC. The museum includes many space artifacts (a real Blackbird spy plane, German V2 rocket, Mercury, Apollo, and Gemini capsules, Soviet manned space capsules,...). This museum is a must-see for anyone interested in WWII, the space race, and today's space exploration.
Visit this amazing space museum if you are in town!!!
We love this place! It was our first time to visit and we loved all the facts, the exhibits, the history and the wonderful shows. The museum has a lot of great things to see, spaceships, models and videos. The presenter in Dr. Goddard's Lab was entertaining and educational. And the two theater's were both amazing, we saw Space Next and Black Holes.. the dome shape of the theaters made the movies so realistic and the sound was great too.
Fantastic air and space museum. From SR71 to Apollo 13 module. Great.
Best experience ever, got to do a lot of fun things! Like watch a movie on Apollo 11 and a funny show, plus a documentary on black holes! So fun!
The Cosmosphere will always hold a special place in my heart. They have such a great collection of space history items. Liberty Bell 7, Apollo 13 capsule, backup sputnik. If you have little space nerds, they have a wonderful summer camp program for kids, a special one for Boy Scouts, personally I have been seven summers. They have a great gift shop. They have some fun simulator type things that you may get to try. It’s the greatest space museum not in Washington D.C.
Really nice place for the family or for yourself, plus great staff and building.
Very good day. Very informative and my 10 year old son loved it. If you are into space exploration and interested in the past please make it a day here. You won’t be disappointed. Reasonable prices and friendly staff.
I have loved this place since I was a child as does my significant other! Now we love bringing our children to the cosmosphere! Thanks for having a little area for the little ones as well!
This is a fascinating museum, tucked into the middle of Kansas. The equipment they have on display is incredible, the exhibits are well designed, and the entire experience was very educational. Well worth the time to swing through Hutchinson just for this place.
I've been to many air and space museums across the country. This one is really incredible! The neat thing about this place is that you get to learn about the whole history of rocketry, from missiles to our moon landing to our exploration of Mars. It's a very educational place with lots of things to see. Good for all ages!
This is a nice place to visit. Historic second war memories are attractive. History of the landing on the moon is awesome with many pictures and models.
Exceeded expectations. Lots of unique items. Very interesting
Excellent museum. I really appreciate the historical tie in to the space program. It puts the Russian race for dominance in perspective.
You want to know the history of the space programs, starting all the easy back to how rockets were developed? This is the place! Allow yourself a full day to take it all in.
Went during the week. It was quiet and I could take my time. So many neat artifacts. It felt like it went on forever. Great way to spend a few hours.
There are things here for the little ones, however you will want to come back and experience all of the history behind these rockets. The shows are great. The planetarium is definitely worth it along with the lab show which the kids young and old will get a kick out of. There's a little snack shop that's decent and not too terribly expensive. Expect to spend a few hours here but it's well worth it.
If you like history of space exploration then you'll love this place. I personally loved the SR 71 blackbird in their lobby. Amazing piece of history.
Seriously? A review of the Cosmosphere??? Ok, let's give it a shot. AMAZING!! They have an SR71 Blackbird hanging in the front of the building, part of a space shuttle in the wall, anything and everything you could imagine is in there. They have the backup Sputnik! (You will not believe the size of it, seriously that was shocking). This place is epic! And they have movie viewings on the weekend in the planetarium, live science shows, and it's just a great way to spend a day.
What a fun place to be. There was so much to see and do. I think that I enjoyed the move most of all.
This place is more interesting the Kennedy Space Center! I was VERY impressed!
Always love coming here, always learn something new. Loved the simulator. Really enjoyed the museum, and we took the time to do a couple of Imax shows. Also for the first time ate in the restaurant. The food was hot and super tasty, very surprised by the high quality of it. Friendly staff.
What a gem in the middle of Kansas! We've been here twice and the the kids and parents loved it. There is so much space history here. We loved being able to touch a SR71, see the Apollo 13 Command Module, and so much other stuff too. They have a moon rock! This place is so cool, I highly recommend going out of your way to go here. Lot's of Russian stuff too.
Neat place to see. If you're in the area you should go
Any lover of space will love this museum. There's plenty of interesting things to see and you'll be glad you took the time to watch the movie. Highly recommend.
It was so worth what a collection so cool i dont even like this kinda stuff bit so cool
Lots of great things to do and see
***if you have Exploration Place membership, you can go here free*** It has a significant collection of pieces. You can stand underneath an actual rocket ship and look up into the engine cones. I really found the Sputnik artifact amazing. They obtained it from the Russian manufacturer of the original Sputnik. It was the back up satellite! And we got to see how small and delicate it was. There is not a kid-centered area for my toddlers to play which is why I can't give it 5 stars. Most museums have a kids exploration room now.
This is an incredible place with a ton of historical artifacts on display. The staff is professional and over the top friendly. I cannot wait to go back someday!
Great! Fun and interesting place. Lots to look at. My 9yr old enjoyed it very much.
Had a great time learning about space travel, rockets and even the Cold War. Dr. Goddard's lab was easily a favorite. It's the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Highly recommended if you've never been!
Outstanding fun and educational destination. The exotic dancers are second to none... Kidding... But the exhibits are hard to beat.
Must visit in Kansas. I find it better than the nasa in Houston. So much info and the documentaries are very good and informative.
Great place to visit while in Kansas. The SR71 on display was 100% worth the trip.
What an amazing space museum! One of a kind artifacts from WWII through the Space Shuttle. Also the most unique static display of an SR-71 that I've ever seen. Well worth the effort to get to, and not to be missed.
Lots to learn, with a lot of new information top use for exhibits now. Several of the interactive exhibits were offline when we went, but that's not surprising this time of year.
Excellent place for the family! Had a great time with my son's 5th grade class. The dome with stars is amazing!!
An amazing place to visit for any fan of U.S. and Soviet space history! Loved it.
Could not wait to be here. The 4th time and still love it.
The Kansas Cosmosphere is a fun and interesting place! My wife and I spent the better part of a day there. We would go back.
Excellent place to know in detail the history of the man journeys in space, very interesting and educational!
The Cosmosphere is awesome! We went to see a movie, a decommissioned SR-71 Blackbird, a Mercury Capsule, an Apollo 13 Capsule, and the backup for the Sputnik satellite. We visited the planetarium, the laboratory, and the museum (very neat to see the evolution of the German, US, and Russian space programs). They have a very nice gift shop and café. We enjoyed eating the space ice cream and had a great time at the Cosmosphere!
The Cosmosphere is in my opinion the best museum in Hutchinson hands down(maybe in all of Kansas). It's a must see attraction if you're in town. Where do I start?? For me, I love, love, love the SR-71 hanging from the ceiling! Can you imagine a real, actual decommissioned spy plane suspended from the rafters. It's nose tilted to the ground so that you can see the detail and actually touch it. That's the start of the journey. The museum downstairs is amazing! It houses a lunar landing module, V2 rockets, and so much more! The planetarium is always fun. Doctor Goddard's Lab is highly recommended for kids of all ages. If you come to visit, plan on spending the day at the Cosmosphere. Get the all access pass. You won't be disappointed!
Hadn't been in several years, being back brought up many fond memories from my teenage years. I brought two small children with me on this visit. While some things didn't interest them all that much, they had an absolute blast. They really enjoyed the museum and how close you are able to get to real rockets. Both were sound asleep within 10 minutes of leaving. We ate lunch on-site. They offer several different options and they are all reasonably priced. The three of us ate lunch for about $18. If you're looking for a souvenir, the gift shop has a decent mix if items. I was able to buy a shot glass, one kiddo got a stuffed space shuttle and the other got a telescope. The store also carries toys, books, apparel, meteorite pieces, writing utensils and many other space and Cosmophere related items. If I remember correctly there are only 7 items in the entire museum that are "fake"...can you spot them?
Love that a hidden gem like this exists in Kansas. If you geek out on all things cosmos, you’ll walk around like
Fun place to spend a day learning about the history of space exploration.
Wonderful experience for all ages. Very accessible facility. Fun and Educational!
I love this place it was fun
Really fun educational experience. Was expecting a childish exhibits but very interesting mix of real older space technology. Would visit again when I have more time.
Great! Very family friendly and tons to look at and do. The gift shop is adorable. Highly recommend. You can spend an hour there or an entire day.
Great Learning space program
Wonderful exhibits and impressive collection of rockets and space "stuff".
This place is good to visit if you have the time to read all the information provided throughout. It’s certainly not a cheap outing but is worth it if you have the time. I think the coolest thing is the Blackhawk in the main lobby.
Awesome place. From the V1 to the moon.
Took 3 16 year olds and 2 13 year olds. Them and the adults all had a blast. I had not been since the late 80s and they have added a ton of stuff. We purchased the full tickets and did everything. We were there about 6.5 hours.
I haven't been here since I was 10. It is awesome!!!!! I can't believe I waited till I was 53 to return. Apollo 13 capsule was the best! Err
Excellent! Loads of history, great exhibits and activities for the family.
Me and grandson had good time
Wow what a great experience. I am in Hutchinson Kansas on a consulting engagement and never expected to find this gem. If you are anywhere near Wichita/Hutchinson you have to make the time to go to the Cosmosphere.
Great museum. Plan on spending a couple hours there.
Interesting. Great exhibits. The tour moved quickly. If you're a reader, you'll need more time. See it on your own. The guides take you through places you might not know to go.
We always love going to the Cosmosphere, the exhibits are amazingly detailed and we learn something new every timed
This place is absolutely amazing. Can't believe it's tucked away in the tiny (but very cool) town of Hutchinson KS. If you are the slightest bit interested in air and space, this is a must see.
Great museum for adults, but definitely not very kid-friendly
This place is awesome. It is a fantastic place to discover. This is a wonderful place for young and old. Many historic things are featured here. A great place to take your kids there…..
Well worth the money must see
Oh my gosh this place is huge! And it has some amazing exhibits that are found only a handful of other places in the world! It might feel a little pricey at first, but it is well worth it!
It was a great experience and everybody should visit more then once
Fantastic. Very good, but lots tours caused us not to see Apollo movie.
Self guided tour, very interesting.
Very educational. Was surprised the gift shop was reasonably priced.
GREAT way to learn about the history of space exploration!!! Allow at least 2 hours for the museum. Additional time for movies and Dr. Goddard's lab. This lab was a fun way to learn about his life and his desire to go to the moon. Would highly recommend this place for adults and kids age 8 and up.
Something different and the first place I been .
This is truly one of my favorite places in Kansas. I can spend days in the museum reading and learning about our space race history. This last trip I was reading about the peice of Berlin wall that is there. I learned that it is the last peice of the wall that was removed. Definatly worth the stop and time.
Not a great place for younger children. Kind of pricey. Museum was nice, but a little overwhelming and cramped. Not many interactive exhibits. When multiple people are in the museum it seems very cramped and uncomfortable.
This place is fantastic. It has so much to see and learn. I'm sure coming here will inspire a young person to pursue their dream of reaching the stars. We need dreamers who work hard to reach their goals.
Excellent museum highlighting flight and space artifacts from all over the world. They offer 3 different theatres including a rocketry lab, a planetarium, and a large dome theater to supplement the experience of the artifacts. It is a must see museum!!
Fascinating! My son says it was the best part of his summer.
Interesting facts and history. Well worth the visit .
Really interesting if you like NASA and space its a great place to go
What great display, well thought out and detailed. Kansas gem!
Great place but not a great value. Taking little ones creates difficulty as the majority of information must be read. Contains a great deal of display pieces however.
The museum is interesting to old guys. Don't order a Christmas gift from them. They have no discretion. Called my cell, asked me for my husband and then told him they had the wrong address for his gift. Not even an apology. Just, It's not our fault, his name was on his gift, blah blah.
It is an amazing educational experience with some fun thrown in through Dr. Goddard's Lab. The space museum has great information along with their artifacts and displays.
Very interesting depiction of the space race.
Visited from Pueblo Colorado and had an amazing time. It was definitely worth stopping in to see! 10/10 would recommend!
The Cosmosphere is an amazing place. More artifacts than a person would think would be in a small town. There are other things to do other than the museum.
So much more than I expected! We were there from open to close and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Adults & teens were all captivated by the incredible variety of artifacts and displays.
If this place doesn't make you shed a tear for human progress, both Russian and American, you aren't reading enough.
Great field trip for kids
Havent been in years was an awsome expierence to return with so many new things to see and do.
Very informative and interesting. The best parts by far were the shows. Make sure you pay for the planetarium shows when you get there because the museum part alone would probably not be worth it. Otherwise it was great!
The visit was well worth the trip. The staff are helpful and friendly. Exhibits are better than some at the National Air and Space Museum. The spacecraft are very approachable to give a sense of internal dimensions. The restoration and preservation are the near I've seen. Highly recommended for all space enthusiasts and any up and coming engineer. You will leave inspired.
Loved how we were able to so many fun things there
I wasn't sure what to expect from a space museum in Southern Kansas, but I was impressed. It has a great collection (SR-71, original Apollo 13 capsule, etc.) and conveys an amazing story of the evolution of rockets toward spaceflight. If you're interested in space history, this is a must see.
Dr Goddard show was incredible. I really liked the educational aspects and liveliness of the demonstrator.
Learned a lot, and was really in-depth. Guided tour (free) was well worth it. Apollo 13!!
Absolutely awesome!!! So much detailed history, amazing, amazing stuff. The SR-71 in the lobby was icing on the cake.
We try and visit every few years and learn something new every time. Perfect place for family fun.
A lot of history fun to go see
We could have spent all day here. We spent about 4-5 hours and barely saw everything. It was the 50th Apollo anniversary and lots of great thing to see. Loved it.
This place is so awesome! It's free to people who live in Reno County so bring your ID. Dr. Goddard lab is amazing, really awesome experience for the children. They have an IMAX theater that plays both movies and documentaries. So much information in the museum downstairs, they have an actual piece of the Berlin Wall. This is absolutely a must-see for anybody who is visiting Hutchinson.
I have visited twice in the last six months and still haven't had time to read about everything the museum offers. The museum begins with the German rocket program in world war 2 and progresses through to modern times. An absolute treasure trove of information and artifacts of the space program. Hopefully I'll be able to finish the rest on my third visit. Highly recommended!
Great space museum with a lot of real artifacts from NASA and other international space agencies. Exhibits are well done. My 7 and 10 years old kids were very interested. We were there for a scout trip, and the educational program prepared for them was amazing. It is a very nice museum not only by Kansas standards but also at the national level. There is a lot to see and do there.
Very good exhibition. However the museum is a bit of a rabbit warren with items all over. We had to double back several times to get out. Quite a few exhibits were out of order or just not there. Don't let this review turn you off visiting though. Still worthwhile.
Very cool the first time you go but sad to say that once you've been... you have pretty much seen it all!! I don't feel like they change it up very often and can be a bit on the pricey side. I'd you have never visit it's a must see... once!!
Wonderful displays and real space crafts
A couple of the exhibits were closed for renovations, that's okay, but there should have been an appropriate discount for that.
It is amazing how many artifacts are on display here; from inside and outside the United States. Spend some time to take in the complete stories of mankind's journey into space.
Very nice museum. Nice show of the history of aviation from the v-1 ww2 era to the sr-71 cold war era.
Absolutely amazing, seeing the Apollo 13 capsule and the SR-71 was fantastic
A great place to go! It was my first time there... I will definitely go again. I would recommend Dr. Goddards Lab to anyone. Also I really liked the museum, though of course to really absorb everything, you would probably have to spend the whole day there
