You will be able to see all the feddbacks of real people who are consuming the services of Combat Air Museum (Museum) in the area close to Kansas.
Currently this firm gets a score of 4.7 stars over 5 and the score was based on 221 reviews.
As you can see its rating is virtually the highest, and it's based on a very large number of opinions, so we may think that the rating is quite credible. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Museum belongs to the category of History museum.
lots of good still intact airplanes to see. prices are more than fair. the art gallery is very nice and in good shape. there are two air hangers and one of them could be cleaned up (see pictures). overall it is a good place to visit for an hour or so, just be prepared for the heat.
A good place to see a variety of planes and there history.
Pretty cool place.
I would recommend going. My husband and I took a 4 yr old and 12 yr old both really enjoyed it.
Wow! We took our three year old crazy-for-airplanes grandson to the Combat Air Museum in Topeka, KS. It was worth it! Not only did he get up-close to all of the planes and helicopters, but he also got to sit on his mom's lap and engage in the flight simulator with a real retired pilot! A great place for anyone who loves all things flight! (We also picked up a cute little airplane for him in the gift shop!)
If you even slightly like aeroplanes this is a must see.
Really cool place with lots of historic planes from all era's of flight, my kids got to try the flight simulator and loved it
We'll put together, GREAT gentlemen working there. Enjoyed every minute there
Love the exotic planes.
Me my and my two sons and grandson drove 4 hours to see a race that got rained out so we needed something to do. Saw that the air combat museum was a couple blocks away. Glad we went. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Most of the aircraft are in original condition and you can tell that they were used well. Restored is ok but I like a machine that shows it's character and has personality . I think we'll make it part of our annual trip to the races.
Excellent displays and aircraft. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, would highly recommend!
Informal atmosphere. You get close enough to the planes that you can touch them. I highly recommend COMBAT AIR MUSEUM.
Just like a 20 kiloton bomb, I had a blast!
Loved it. Great aircraft on display. Very nice people.
Aircraft were largely unpainted and not maintained. Not very many to look at. There were a few cool ones
Great place for aviation history......
Very cool Museum... Here for a Lions Club run for sight.
I built the whole thing! Once I got done it was awesome because they put in all airplanes of all kinds. The floors looked dirty but they were not. The floors looked as if it was dog poo but it was not. 3 stars due to the floor design but everything else was great!
Amazing collection of aircraft.
Nice museum, lots of historic planes.
Flight simulator and combat aircraft but light on WW2 warbirds
Session real planes be cool must visit
Great place! Nice collection of aircraft.
Wow! What a hidden gem in Kansas. The volunteers are great at showing you around and explaining a lot of the stories associated with different pieces of aircraft. There is so much history in this museum! They also have a really neat flight simulator. The assortment of vintage combat aircraft is also amazing! Gift shop is really cool as well. I highly recommend!!!!
Cool place
Our Boy Scout troop had a great time and learned so much.
Awesome people great museum
Awesome museum! TONS OF airplanes! I wish we lived closer.. I would live there, volunteer to help restore with my bachelor's of aeronautical science education from ksu Salina, and learn more about our history....... I was driving near and made a point to stop in to show my son a peak of the place. The staff are wonderful people, they are a pleasure to speak with and listen to their knowledge/experience. Volunteer run and operated as a non profit. They have a very nice giftshop with all kids of toys, trinkets, memorabilia. Profits from the giftshop go to help reach the overhead and upkeep of the aircraft. I wish the history didn't involve the death of so many people. Good, bad, innocent lives lost to defeat enemies of goodness, love, equality.. The only downside is thinking about the lives lost to defeat and who were defeated fighting for evil.
I'm an aviation nut.
Able to get up and close to airplanes. Get to sit in a cockpit. Able to get in the back of a helicopter. See some rate planes.
show history of different types of aircrafts and the history has a flight simulator and a small gift shop. Is 2 hangers of aircrafts and a spy plane out side . if it is a cold day dress warm it can be quiet chilli.
Great place.....good for vacation
Lots of awesome displays and friendly staff . Price was very reasonable.
great place to visit, plan on spending some time, longer you stay more you will learn. the guided tours are well worth it. the veterans have a lot to share. spend some time, listen, learn.
Friendly staff and awesome museum pieces!
An amazing museum. Everyone is helpful and lots of stuff to see.
This place was full of great planes! They even had a Tomcat!
Absolutely loved the visit and seeing all the war birds,, looking at all the old radials on engine stands, especially the "wasp",, the only better would have been to listen to one start up, has to be one of the best sounds left in the world. Every volunteer we met was dedicated and helpful,, maybe ya'll can come up with a corsair one day also.
Very interesting. If you like aircraft and history it's worth a visit. Lots of walking around involved.

Good lots of older planes some of them needs lots donations to help preserve and protect!
Really interesting place, $6 entrance, worth it. You get to climb into some planes and see engines. I liked it.
Very informational and fascinating. Perfect for parents with boys who love airplanes.
Incredible collection. So much to see and well maintained. Love this place since i was a kid
This is a must see if you are in the Topeka, KS area. Plan on a minimum of two hours to see everything.
They have a tomcat! Worth it just to see that!
Lots of historic aircraft.
Nice museum. Staff was very friendly. They have a lot of planes for their available space. I appreciated their story boards that not only told the story of the aircraft type, but also told the history of the individual aircraft when known. Lots of other interesting items, too. I was particularly impressed with their Midway diorama and their art gallery. It is so important that we remember these machines and honor the men who flew them.
Every time I go into one of these museums I feel like a ten-year-old boy again I am in awe!
Great diversity in the eras of the planes. I would recommend to anyone that they get the tour.
The museum had a lot of exhibits that help tell the history of the evolution of the fighter pilot!
Great place
Great museum, friendly staff, able to get up close to aircraft and see them!
Absolutely wonderful. Such a great display for the money spent. Very cool. Go see it
My wife and I went to this museum a couple days ago and we both loved it! They have dozens of aircraft on display, many of which you can actually walk into and look around. One of which is on display on the tarmac just outside, an old radar-outfitted Lockheed Constellation which was one of my favorite things about the museum. One thing I would recommend, try and go during temperate time as the hangers that the aircraft are on display in are not heated. However, this definitely didn't keep me from enjoying the museum. One of the greatest things about it was a flight simulator they have that you can use. With multiple screens, a full yoke, throttle quadrant, and rudder pedals, you can teach yourself how to take-off, fly, and land many of the different aircraft they have with the simulator. Using the Microsoft Flight Simulator X software in the simulator, I had a lot of fun and brought back a lot of memories of when I took pilot lessons a few years ago. This is definitely a family-friendly museum, especially for those interested in aviation like I am. After touring the museum, complete with two fully-stocked hangers of aircraft, not to mention the Conny outside, you can visit the gift shop before leaving. I honestly have no complaints from this museum. Friendly staff, a wide variety of aircraft to see all dating way back to the World War I to present day, and the excellent flight simulator system, this is a hidden treasure in the capital of Kansas and a must-see for anyone interested in aviation.
Aircraft crowded together. Many aircraft in poor condition. Dusty and dirty. The art gallery was excellent but located out of the way.
My favorite part of this museum is the second hangar, it's much more basic than the first, almost like walking into a storage/restoration shop. The kind of space that lets the airplanes speak for themselves. Having a building like this open to the public tells me that preserving these old airplanes is this museum's top priority.
Topeka Pilots meet and greet 2019
Great little muesem. Always a treat come see. The volunteers are great. Very warm and friendly place.
Very friendly Hometown feel. They have a great collection. Like most people, I've driven by here many times without stopping. Take a break and check this Museum out.
It's simple and admittedly rustic but it's good. There's not much aviation history but the collection, especially American aircraft from the Cold War, is impressive.
Super neat place, with lots of old planes to wander around and look at. :)
Enjoyed it very much. A lot of history to see.
We were visiting friends who had recently moved to Topeka. We wanted see the local attractions, and I saw listed in the Topeka Travel Guide the Combat Air Museum. I am an airplane enthusiast having visited a number of other air museums and decided to check it out. The Combat Air Museum is an excellent museum. Hangar 602 displayed most of their best aircraft exhibits. Each plane had been lovingly preserved with many having stairs to the cockpit for viewing. Visitors can room around at their own place and read the descriptions for each exhibit. Tours are available. My favorite plane was the F11F-1 Tiger in the colors of a Blue Angle. What a Beautiful Airplane! Hangar 604 included fully restored aircraft and many other being restored. This hangar had the feel of a crowded garage. I loved it. Finally after viewing the airplane exhibits, I earned my wings on a flight simulator. A veteran pilot guided me through takeoff, level flight and return to Forbes Field for a successful landing. What Fun!
We sooo enjoyed seeing and being able to tour the old airplanes this past weekend!! They are truly amazing. The tour guides were very informative as well! One thing that might have made it a bit more enjoyable would have been some port-a-potties and perhaps a place to buy some cold bottled water at least. But I do realize that money could be a concern. And I look forward to returning when they come back!!
I am retired Air Traffic Controller and served as an Air Intercept controller in the Navy. This museum is a hidden gem. Very nice collection of aircraft, memorabilia and aviation art in the upper level. Some of the airplanes were more restored than others but even the most incomplete displays were awesome. The main hanger has mostly restored aircraft and a second hanger has works in progress. The Lockheed Constellation Warning Star out back is also a must see. You can also tour the inside of this aircraft. There is also a flight simulator if you are so inclined. The gift store has a nice collection of military aviation patches, hat pins, books and scale aircraft. There are guides to help or feel free to tour on your own. Joe, who was a Korean War Veteran showed me around and was a joy to visit with. Overall glad I stopped in.
The Combat Air museum in Topeka Kansas it is a great way to spend an hour checking out the history of flight and the armed forces of multiple nations, going all the way back to world war one. It’s a very cheap day out and tickets cost only six dollars per person over 18, which is very reasonable for a museum these days. There are around 40 different planes and helicopters to see and you’re allowed to walk inside a couple of them to check them out. Set inside two aircraft hangers, if you’re a fan of aviation at all I highly recommend you visit this museum. As a note, but come at a museum is also near the Kansas national guard museum which has an open a display with a whole bunch of helicopters and ground support vehicles. Make sure you take the time to check those out too.
Vast collection of combat aircraft in great shape, and you can get up close / inside some. It's clear the staff and volunteers work hard restoring and caring for the collection. There is plenty to learn or just wonder through. A couple areas do not have AC/Heat, but some areas do.
A great little museum. The items that they have on display are great.

Nice place to view aircraft nice people that loved to share their knowledge
Great place to visit.
Beyond blown away on how awesome this place is. Only regret I have is that I didn't come sooner. They have a rich history or combat aviation history with over twenty aircraft ranging from a Navy Blue Angel Fighter jet, F14 tomcat, huey helicopter, and so on. I learned alot today and my four year old son absolutely loved it. They also have a gift shop that is reasonably priced. One of the gentleman that started this was there and you can feel his compassion and love for this place he has built in the last forty plus years. I highly encourage everyone to check this place out. It is only six dollars for adults and you won't be disappointed. They also have an aircraft simulator where you can fly over thirty different aircraft.
Perfect historical aircrafts
Not real happy about having to pay full price simply because I'm retired military not active. Left me feeling a little bit rejected and despondent about my service. Lots of military items that I have personally had experience with and could have provided a wealth of information. Honor???? It feels more like you respect me as much as someone who has never served a day. But I guess you get so many retired military that you want that 2$. Its a small amount, its more about how dissrepected and dismissed I was treated.
One of the reasons I wisited Kansas city
Many aircraft with extensive information and hands on exhibits as well as models and diagrams. Real museum quality with real aircraft for a low cost. Don't miss the second hangar.
Great museum with lots of aircraft on display. The admission price is very reasonable.
Unlike the other reviews I found this museum to be friendly, informative and well filled. Worth much more than the admission price. I visit a lot of air museums throughout the country and nowhere else will you find a museum allowing close up views of so many historic r military aircraft as this location. If they were located in a major city, they could easily double the admission Also, I never seen any signs of problems on the floor of the museum. Great place to visit.
One of the best air museums out there you can smell the grease and touch the planes
Could've spent all day here! Amazing collection of planes, flight simulator and knowledgeable staff.
Fun and interesting little museum. If you like "warbirds", this is a cool place with some knowledgeable volunteers who share some interesting stories.
The Constellation was cool and the rebuild area was excellent! Will return again because of these two things alone.
Great place
super cool find. tons of planes that you can get up close to snd check out.
Been visiting the musuam since I was young. It's always fun to go and see what has been added since the last time. They have quite the collection of personal items from soldiers of different eras and of course the hangars (yes, multiple!) of planes, both restored and unrestored.
This museum is a little bit run down and dust covered, but if you are a history buff or aviation enthusiast (I wouldn't consider myself either, honestly), you'll be in heaven. Friendly volunteers staff the place and are more than happy to show you around! Do not miss if you are in the area and have a few hours to spare!
AWESOME place to go look around. Bring the whole family. Lots of cool history to be seen!
Good sample of aircraft, with expert tour guides. If your in the area it is worth a stop
Very fun, nice for the whole family
Lots of planes to look at. A lot of them are still in process of being restored so it can be a bit messy. I gave it 4 stars because I honestly thought i was going to be miserable going. But ended up enjoying the staff and displays.
The museum has a couple buildings and a wide variety of combat aircraft. You can even go inside the EC-121. If you like airplanes, this is a must.
Very, very hot. Otherwise it is a well-curated war aircraft museum.
One of the best aircraft and military museums in the midwest. This museums boasts many aircraft from every era and does a wonderful job displaying exhibits, memorabilia and aircraft. The number of aircraft at the Combat Air Museum in very impressive considering the location and is on par with many of the museums I've visited on the west coast. I have visited this museum many times and will continue to do so as there are often new things added and new aspects to discover. Take note that this museum is located near an active airport and is inside WW2 style aircraft hangars which hearken back to the days of golden aviation and gives you the feel of what it was like back then. Great place to visit!
I visited in the winter. Glad I brought a coat because it was freezing. So many planes to see, it’s amazing they got them all in the hangers.
Wonderful exhibits of military planes that you can walk right up and touch. There are many pieces of donated memorabilia that makes this place special. They also have a flight simulator. Family friendly and wheelchair accessibility.
Took a chance.. WOW.. a great place to see aviation history. The museum is packed full of all sorts of awesome history. Even some Russian Fighters! Way cool. The H53 Helicopter was like the one my Father flew in.. admission was very reasonable and the staff was great! Oh don't miss the gift shop..
Great Staff informative displays. Well worth the visit.
Great collection of old planes. Knowledgeable staff that are very friendly
I finally made the trip to visit this museum. I have been driving past the signs for a couple of years now, and it was def worth the visit. The staff greeted me at the door, and offered me a cup of coffee, and suggestions on how to walk through the hanger. The museum offers a wide range of different planes to see, and there is some reading involved. You really have to appreciate how much time and energy goes into the restoration projects. The admission was cheap, and will def be a 2nd trip planned before I leave Kansas. Keep up the great work there!!
Great museum with very knowledgeable staff.
Worth the trip
Really Cool place
Great meseum! Please donate when you visit.
Great people awesome history
my experience was amazing thanks to my guide
Very interesting with quite a few aircraft
Great collection and fantastic staff
My only visit here was several years ago, when my parents dragged me here against my will on a cold, windy day and I didn't have a hat or gloves. I'm simply not interested in aviation history (especially when I'm freezing). If you're really into planes and all that, this place is probably worth four or five stars.
Great display of historical aircraft!
Amazing
다양한 각종 전투기를 볼 수 있고, 퇴역 군인 할아버지들의 친절한 해설이 좋음
loved it
One of the better and more comprehensive museums I've attended
Great time and loved seeing and learning ..must see if your available to
The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Restored some of the planes themselves.
Great variety of aircraft, engines, and knowledgeable staff.
Great place! Very informative! Employees were very pleasant! Inexpensive!
They had a lot of great planes, but the facility is a warehouse with no insulation. A little cold when we went, probably really hot in summer.
Great aviation museum! Definitely worth a visit.
Great place.
Very cold but the tour was very nice and learned lots
Wonderful museum with an extensive & interesting collection.
So many aircraft to see inside the hangers. It definitely surprised me (in a good way).
Excellent museum to enjoy and bring your kids out for a few hours. I'm an Air force brat. My boys and I loved every min, it.
Great price and a lot of interesting planes and other things to see.
What great collection of military aircraft of all types and multiple eras.
The history in that museum , awesome experience checking out the vintage aircrafts. A must see !!
Very cool spot. The flight simulator is a blast.
This museum is not like one you have experienced before. This museum allows you to get right up to the actual aircraft and into some of them. If you are a fan of aircraft, this museum is a must. There is no AC however, so a summer tour might be a bit uncomfortable. The staff was more than helpful and kind. I would highly, highly recommend making a trip up to Topeka to take a look at this museum. It's really impressive what they have accomplished with a staff of volunteers.
Wonderful hands on experience for the kids
Lot of real history both old and new it's just wonderful
Great place lots of unique airplanes
Really cool museum, fascinating aircraft and other military artifacts. Low price but is definitely worth it.
WOW!
Educational place.
They were having a special day so there were many special activities aimed at kids! It was a 5-star day- but without those activities, I would call it 4-stars for kids.
Good displays of all kinds of aircraft.
It was very interesting!!!
Pice of history!
Two hangars of airplanes! Lots of history! Friendly people to guide you through and answer questions! A must see for airplane enthusiasts traveling through Topeka Kansas.
Good place to educate children
Great museum to spend a few hours. The aircraft alone are amazing to see, but the artwork and many displays make the experience well worth the visit. The examples of flight suits are impressive, as are the cold war displays, and personal displays of pilots, and many other great displays. As a builder of plastic aircraft models I was also very interested in the countless examples of aircraft models. Each model could easily win the top prize at any IPMS events I have attended. I do wish there was more space available as it is a bit difficult to photograph in the tight spaces, but it is understandable. Having read the other reviews here, I see nothing at all wrong with the flooring, after all these are aircraft hangars, not penthouse apartments! Take the time to visit this museum! Is there a timeframe on when the F-86 restoration will be completed?
