REVIEWS OF RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum IN Indiana

Vickie Parent

If you are in the Elkhart, IN area & love to camp, check this place out. It has the history of the RV industry as well as very old campers. They have the Charles Lindbergh camper as well as the Mae West "party" car. We had a great time.

Mary Button

Great displays.

Christopher Litton

Awesome to see how this all began and how it continues. Friendly people there, too!

Jason Cr

Stopped on the way home. Ok for a one time visit.

Very interesting to see all the old motor homes.

David Elzbeck

Great for RV history buffs. Love this place.

Desiree Martin

Great people way cool history

Matthew Jerkovic

It reminded me of one of those places you have to stop if it was a National Lampoon movie LOL. The biggest ball of twine the house of mud and now the RV Hall of Fame LOL

Pete Christensen

Great RVs to see

Sandra Shrader

Many old rv's and a few new ones. Great gift shop and library.

Mark Wilson

My Dad, Lance Wilson was inducted into the Hall of Fame tonight. Great facility and great staff!

Carol Bundsgaard

Great look at the history of this industry and its evolution.

mary raynie

Enjoyed seeing vintage campers and how much RV'ing has changed, yet not changed.

Bernadette Denman

JOHN Wayne PATTERSON

It was magnificent. The people that works there have what it takes to keep it going for a long long time.

John Koppes

Very nice, lots of history to see!! Great library of travel magazines to look through... Very cool campers on display!!

Jared Bowen

#rainyday #learn Hidden gem in Indiana. I've not done much RVing, but the history and displays at this museum are well worth seeing. Even if you are not an RV fanatic. I highly recommend this museum.

Heather A

Wow, what an awesome place to visit. My husband and our family are the types that go to RV dealerships just to look at the new ones so this was a treat! We have been wanting to go here since we first heard about it. We were both surprised that you can go into some of the RV and campers. It was breathtaking to see the beauty of all the hard work that has gone into making RVs what they are nowadays.

Scott Nightengale

What a hoot. They have an amazing collection of RV's/campers, most of which you can walk through. The wife thought I was nuts wanting to see "old" campers but after two hours of wandering through, I had a hard time getting her out. If you are at all interested in the history of RV's, head on in.

jmigonis

I was here for an event and decided to take a walk through. If you are into RV history I'm sure it is something of interest and worth your time. I'm not really an RV buff, however, I found the RV units on display to be informative and overall enjoyed the exhibit.

Ken Wilson

Great history inside.

Adam Ninja

It was cool to see the different eras of RVs, but $12 per ticket is a bit overpriced. The entire museum takes about an hour. Unless you make use of the RV library or wall of Fame, where you basically see 50,000 portraits of exclusively white people being celebrated for who knows what.

Jason Winget

Much of the story stops in the early 2000's and nothing much added since. Pretty well done and worth the stop if you are an RVer. The MH stands for Manufactured Housing, not Motor Home. It takes about 90 minutes to go thru the self guided tour.

Luke Fountain

Went for a home show got a great price on some well needed windows and some good quotes for lawn services, solar and bathroom remodel.

Beth Keehan

Well worth the visit

Elaine Urbanczyk

Wonderful selection of travel trailer history

Biddle Susan

Always inspiration to see how far we've come, makes the journey forward doable actually enjoyable! Blessed to have had this experience and we thank #HZTI for the opportunity!

Chuq Jackels

This is a truly unique place. The various RVs throughout time are here and it is really cool to see how far this industry has grown!

Tomsr Smith

This was our first time here and it was terrific. Lots of great history behind the RV & Motorhome history timeline. Would encourage everyone to come and enjoy.

Dannie Huisenga

Great time looking at a snap shot of history. We'll organized walk with friendly hosts and reasonable price!

A guided tour as an option would be nice.

Larry Hall

Nancy McQuinn

Loved it! A definite "must see" for any RV buff!

Mike Norris

A great little museum in Elkhart priced decently and one that doesn't take all day to get through. ~1-2 hours. A lot of awesome blasts from the past.

Paul Brockman

Very interesting. Neat old trailers.

P Burns

It was interesting to see the different campers. I expected a larger display of them. The admission was twice what I would have expected ($12), but fun just the same.

Ross Anderson

This is THE place for RV dorks... like me. Captures the history very well for a segment of society that kinda takes itself for granted. The RV culture is huge, but not many want to call it theirs. Lots of firsts here. Enjoy!

Eileen Marini

Wonderful variety of RVs, library and store. Really enjoyed seeing very early models from 1930 and even the Eagle's RV.

Herbert Gingold

Amazing place wonderful history lesson!

Brenda McCulley

Kool place to see all the old campers

Daniel Lazenby

Great place to learn about the RV industry and the history of RVing. They have multiple examples of early class A's, trailers and car campers from 1910. Vintage camping gear, stoves, lanterns, cookware, and camp kitchen kits. A custom Pierce Arrow used by May West to travel to and from the movie shoots. A few home made/kit units. I'd go back again. If you are into research they have a very nice research library.

Joe Waltz

Great history in the RV industry!

Tami Harvey Eytchison

Loved it! It was awesome to know back so many years they had options for comfort.

Ginger Sayre

I always love going in and looking at all their merchandise and RV'S.... My better half has an RV guitar on exhibit with Airstream RV'S....If you haven't been there it's a beautiful place to go....We absolutely love the place.... If you get a chance you should truly go check it out you will be amazed...

Amy Moorman

Neat place to see. Liked the old R V

Mark Van Netten

Very enjoyable. Loved seeing the old campers.

stephen kimball

Seen 1 RV, you've seen them all. Wasn't impressed with the products being offered at the Elkhart RV show.

Debbie Pearson

Because I live in the RV Capital of the nation it was interesting to see where the RV industry started as to where it is now. Very informative

luann flood

Had a blast! Free overnight parking for RV/MH visitors. Well presented films and exhibits, retail section and huge collection of campers and rv's showing the history and evolution. Great way to spend a few hours.

Chris

We enjoyed our time at the RV Hall of Fame. We live in the Michiana area and have done so for the past few years, but up until now we haven’t made it to this place. They tell the RV story well, to include the journey that made this area the “RV capital.” I enjoyed stepping inside those old RVs as it reminded me of another (simpler) day and time. It’s a great place to go on a rainy day.

Harvey Blanchette

so Many old trailers. Enjoyed seeing what camper like 50 to 70 years ago

Dumpster Diver

Just a cool place, absolutely amazing. Staff was great. Lady on desk a gem

Paul bridges

This place is so cool. I've lived in Indiana my whole life and never knew about it. They have some awesome campers here.

R Cheverie

Interesting and well organized, pleasant staff and and opportunity to step back in time to see RVs from the very beginning. Well worth a visit.

J Nimtz

Excellent place with lotsa info!

Mike Mason

A great place to spend a few hours or days! Loads of large parking, easy to get to and a dizzying number of displays. Vintage RVs, new models, and a huge library of literature from the RV industry. Oh, and pet friendly!

Thomas Stanfill

I spent about an hour and a half to two hours here. It's a fantastic museum with many different RVs through the ages. There are RVs from the 1920's through today. It's a good way to see the evolution of the RV.

Ladeeblaze Travels

I did not get to go in this trip, but I was able to park for the night and felt very safe. Thank you to the staff!

Mike Dukehart, II

It might not look that impressive from the outside, but inside you will find the epic physical history of recreation vehicles. Not only can you look, some units you can actually get. It really is fun to walk through and see an industry mature into the RVs of today.

Susan Lundquist

Became a Life Member many years ago, just to help them retire the mortgage. Wanted it to always be there in case we could visit. Arrived the night before and enjoyed the Free RV parking area. Thought we would just be there a couple of hours, so sauntered in about 11:00. As Life Members we could have gotten in for free, but the senior and military discounts made it so reasonable, that we chose to pay before telling the lady that we were Life Members. Every business needs to pay bills. The museum was so much fun, that we spent hours inspecting rigs recalled from our childhood, ones we had owned before we met, the one I owned when we first married (and which he promptly turned into a storage unit), historic and ground breaking campers, and some futuristic one-offs that I recalled seeing in RV magazines over the years. Even ran into an old friend I worked with in CA over 20 years ago! We took a break to have lunch and walk the dogs, then went back and stayed until closing. Which led to us staying a second night in the RV parking area. I highly recommend this museum to anyone who even remotely enjoys camping, Motorhome living, or any form of RV life. There is so much to see and do in this area, that I would recommend staying several days, or even a week. The quilt garden trail, Amish farms, Brewing companies, river walk, bicycle trail, canoeing, wine tasting, etc etc etc

Scott Johnson

We had a great time!

Robin North

Fun to see so many older RVs and the vehicles that started it all. From tent trailers to the first motorhomes this is worth a stop if you are in the area.

michaelkim1981

Really cool museum that has a great collection of RVs. Coolest thing of all, they let you go inside a large number of them! It’s really neat to see how these vehicles evolved ever since the dawn of the motor vehicle. Definitely a worthwhile visit if you ever find yourself traveling I-80.

Randy Biles

Great place to see the history of Manufactured Housing & RV,s.

Peggie Lambard

Nice museum, lots of unique older RV's and camping travel trailers. Displayed nicely on a created road inside a huge building. I was disappointed to observe a few things: the DVD in the small hall after the first video, was stuck, and skipping. No one was around to notify the problem. The audio portion for the scaled down model showing the assembly line of creating a travel trailer was not working, again, no one around to notify. Some lamps inside roped off RV'S were not operational, so I used the flashlight on my phone to see inside. Its just the little things that perhaps someone could monitor that shows that it hasn't been neglected.

Ben Quiggle

Nice museum of the RV industry's history, plus great event facilities.

Drew Bierlein

Great stop. Last time I was here was probably 15 years ago and in a different location. They certainly have grown up! We got there an hour before closing this time and wish we'd had more time. They offered us entry the next day but we were already on our way. Definitely worth the visit.

Jeff Buel

It was okay. If you tour the facility, you can spend the night in your RV. No power or water, so make sure you have enough. Interesting place, but I thought there would be more.

Willann Thomas

We loved this museum as we own a vintage (1988) Airstream and travel with her extensively. Seeing and enjoying the vintage RVs in the museum was pure joy. And they offer free dry camping in their lot so we took advantage of that on this Labor Day Weekend. We were able to visit the surrounding Amish villages with ease.

Joyce Wilhelm

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this museum. Received the senior cost

HydesGoSeek _

This was a neat stop that the whole family enjoyed. We had fun checking out the old time RVs up close. It was a bit overpriced but there was a family rate that made it more affordable. There’s a free phone charge station in the lobby and an extensive library as well.

Elizabeth Guerrero

Interesting place if you want to know everything about RVs. I recomend it.

Joe Mastroianni

Awesome museum. I don't have one, but very cool seeing the evolution of campers and RV's.

Annette Haschke

Lots of very cool vintage campers and RV's! Definately worth stopping in for a visit!

Rutchell Talaroc

I love that place. We always have our company Christmas party held every year.

Richard Norris

Too expensive. $12 bucks. No wonder no one was there

Maryjane Westra

Loved it. Very interesting.

Eric Harrell

This was one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. Just walking thru the isles lined with firearms and accessories, knives, jewelry, ammunition, and anything any man could want. Just being surrounded by firearms and knowing that this was the safest place on the planet at the time. The food was not the greatest and could use improvement but i did not go there for the fine dinning. Never did get to see an RVs.

Vance Heffern

Very cool of you are onto RV's and campers

Robert Blouch

Well worth it.

Con Bac

Alicia B

Steve Brown

Very interesting - if you love RVing.

Karl Tork

Put it on your To do/Bucket list. Fun, educational, just a great place if you have ANY interest in R/V travel, or camping. If you watch any of the R/V shows on G.A.C. go there. The film's from "Flippin R/V's drove from Washington State to see it.

Edwin Wilson

This was a pleasant look at the past. Even though we’ve come a long way, some things are still somewhat the same. And you can dry camp right there.

Mike Cowan

Outstanding displays, great history lessons of this iconic industry. Great place for events.

Michael Castle

A must see destination. An outstanding forum for RVs from about 1914 to the present. Very cool!

Museum was neat to see with the old style of RV'S.

Kenneth Turner

Extremely informational and brought back fond memories of my youth. Well done. Thank you

Mark Lewis

The museum is top notch and it's a beautiful building!

mark dooley

Was amazing. Thought there would be more. Was excited to go but was disappointed in the resources and lack of knowledge of the staff. Spent two hours , $41.00, a small donation of $5 and a magnet.

Philip Wiltshire

Nicely laid out historic path of RV history through the vehicles.

David Mendoza

This place is awesome. They had really cool look in the past RV to look at. The greatest part is that you can go inside them and sit and really feel how the RV used to be back in the day. They have a ton of parking for trucks or even RVs. They do allow you to sleep there overnight if you need to. You just can't set up camp there. It's nice that it's right off the highway. Just a quick stop and go. Although it's better to take your time and look around at all the different displays they have. They do charge $10, but it's well worth the money for all that you get to see. Would be awesome to come with kids. They also have clean bathroom which is a plus for stopping when traveling. Overall the building is pretty clean. I would totally recommend stopping by and checking it out.

Gari Bontrager

Very nice and first class

Rob Schenck

Can't wait to go back. Whole family enjoyed it

Bob Hoagland

Tomas Cruz Jr

Very cool place to check out if you're in the area.

Richard

Good place to view the history of RVing

Shirly Weinstein

We enjoyed our visit to the museum! It was very interesting to see the evolution of the recreational vehicle industry and to be able to tour the inside of older and newer RV models. We were also appreciative of them letting us park our RV overnight in their museum parking lot. It was noisy from the road but had lights at night and we were the only ones there.

Stan Winiarski

Not worth the time to stop not a lot there and overpriced

Martin Taylor

Great Place To See.... It's Nice To Know How Things Started And Where We Are Today

Peter Keliher

Was fun...good to see place

Gary Hallberg

Fun place, large display of RV's through the years, goes farther back than I would have imagined, even a Mae West car camper. Small admission fee, worth every penny

Gary Boughton

Fantastic place to visit at least once in your lifetime.

Danielle Clatch

Great variety of RVs and travel trailers arranged chronologically. This museum deserves more guests. I don't think people know it's there. Great day trip. The gift shop area has lots of unique novelty items that campers will get a chuckle out of.

Lois Lundgren

We traveled west to tour the Thor company's construction building to see the production of our Palazzo motor home. The tour was enjoyable and fact filled. The RV/MH Hall of Fame and Museum was a wonderful ride into the past. So many vehicles for fun trips. What a great day.

EVA BIGELOW

It was nice to see! We plan on coming back again! Thanks

Jason Hill

So my wife and I visited this along with a number of other sites that day. We went in honestly not expecting much and were quite surprised by how interesting it was. It became the highlight of our day. If you're looking for something to do, this is worth checking out for sure!

Always clean need to have more gun shows awesome place

Maggie Dicksen

Most informative. Beautiful displays. Helpful and very pleasant staff. Clean restrooms. Every displayed MH had descriptions and detailed narratives. Highly recommend this for RV enthusiasts and wanna be's.

Helen Lascola

It is a physical history of rv-ing from waaaaay back to present (although many of the new campers are not on display, it does give you a history of many vehicles that were campers in their day.) Well worth the visit.

Lynn Chiles

As an RVer this was a must see. My husband and I loved it. Fun and informative.

Julie Schetley

Interesting place to visit. A lot of cool old RV's and motor homes.

Very well done. It is very interesting, especially if you are into the RV life. I think it would be interesting for those who aren’t as well! Family friendly as well. We took advantage of their overnight parking, and also brought our dogs in with us. Dogs are allowed inside if they are in a bag/carrier. Well worth the $12 a person!

Charles Mangold

If you are into campers or RV then you will love this place. Covers the oldest and rarest campers.

John Stephenson

Pretty cool place, well worth the trip. It has all kinds of RV's, some quite unique.

Karl Myers

Museum exhibits more interesting than I anticipated, well laid out path through history similar to Henry Ford Museum or the Kalamazoo Air Museum. The building and grounds are relatively new and very nice.

Steve Hunter

Great place for fleamarket. Made some money here at the Gunslingers Gun show.

David Crawford

Great place to learn the history of the ndustry.
