The Lilly House is beautiful, and if some new cabinets are installed I may move in. My budget is $150,000. Re-max, are you listening? It was a beautiful day to walk around the gardens. I feel like I only experienced a small fraction of the gardens so I'll go again another day!
Went to Winter Lights and it was nice. And just a tip for all you kids out there who want to partake in the spiked hot cocoa or cider, make sure you visit the tent near Lily House. If you are the right color you won't get carded! Enjoy
Absolutely stunning winter light display comprised of over 1.5 million bulbs and synchronized light display set to classic Christmas orchestral music on the front lawn on the Lily estate. Warm drinks such as cider and hot cocoa, s'mores, and souvenirs are also available for purchase.
The grounds are beautiful
Happy place
Loved Winterlights
Love this place but hate that it is now walled off from the public. Glad I got to visit it hundreds of times in my youth.
Beautiful and historic building. Visited when it was decorated for Christmas and loved it!
It was a very neat place. Enjoyed very much.
This wasn't as exciting for me as Newfields, but art so I can't complain. There are several rooms with photographs of the Newfields grounds. There are several photographs by the same photographers. There are drawings by different age groups. And there are always people watching you on staff. My son was using his camera outside and it used an automatic setting when we came inside, so it used its flash. Someone came rushing over to let everyone know he can't do that. Absolutely accidental, but we had him put it away for the remainder of our time in the house. You'll need to walk up and down stairs. There is elevator access. If your children are the type to walk through the museum without knocking into things and the type to appreciate walking and looking at art, this might work out for them. My kids are 9 and 10 and they did OK, but my 9 year old didn't last long and was happy to escape to the outdoors upon exiting. She does much better in the main building where there is more room and places for children where they are allowed to be children.
Beautiful light display
This place sort of seemed like a waste of time. It was beautiful outside, but there was no reason to go inside. They just played a movie inside about the history of the place. If you're into that, you might like it.
Wonderful for a very enjoyable afternoon.
Unforgettable, relaxing, an escape from the hustle!
Absolutely gorgeous in the spring.
Gorgeous, a must-see in Indy. Very beautiful gardens.
We visited for the Christmas lights and it was beautiful! It's a bit pricey but well worth it. There is a paved path you walk or a wheelchair etc. could be used.
This was fun. It's hard to believe people used to live like this. Really highlights modern and historical social and racial inequality.
Our family loves going to to Newfields/IMA. One of the centerpieces of the gardens is The Lilly House. Often you can tour around the house and take in the history. On occasions such as the Winter Lights the Lilly House was decorated for Christmas which was lovely to see. Usually you can go up to the upper floors where there have been rotating exhibits including photos around the grounds by IMA staff. I enjoy talking pictures myself and have captured many nice shots from the years we have lived around here and had a membership.
Beautiful grounds and architecture!
(Translated by Google) A very nice place to walk and ride a bike ..with the children
Always something blooming. Beautiful
Highly recommended going around Christmas
A beautiful mansion.
Beautiful!
Amazing look at a beautiful old house. Complete with historically accurate decor and items throughout.
The grounds are beautiful and well kept. They also do a great job at keeping up with the mansion. It is cool to experience the history of the building and the Lilly family. However on the tour they didn't let us see any of the upstairs which I didn't like. You want to see at least majority of the house, not just half of it
Great lights display. :)
Beautiful and Educational..
Beautiful... I love that there are umbrellas available!
A very beautiful place with a lot history
Beautiful
Highly enjoyable and definitely worthwhile. Staff are very knowledgeable and the rooms are a neat glimpse into what families that lived here look like. Go if you get the chance!
Nicely done
Very neat!
Nice gardens. The house is interesting to tour, but the second floor is barren.
Winterlights is amazing!
What a beautiful house, a window to the past! Very well taken care!!!
Great tour by knowledgeable staff
Beautiful
This place is awesome! There are so many things exhibited in the house. It's beautiful and ancient. I love this place ❤
This house was beautiful and they kept it in great condition
Cool old house.
Our daughter had her wedding pictures taken at Newfields at the end of July. The cost is $50 for the group if they aren't members. The grounds are lush and green. The paths and walls and rocks, along with the green house provide assorted backdrops the photographer took advantage of for pictures. He chose the Lilly House for the backdrop of the wedding party, which turn out beautiful. Having the downstairs restrooms available there was a plus. And, there was a wedding set up for that day and another bridal party getting pictures taken, which was also fun to be a part of.
Love
Loved it, like walking back in time.
(Translated by Google) Unique in its kind, is worth a visit quietly (Original) Unica nel suo genere, merita una visita con calma
Loved every detail. You have to see it!
Very beautiful
Wonderful building so beautiful...
Visited to see the Christmas lights. Outside garden display was awesome with the lights blinking to the music of the Nutcracker.
It is one of my family's favorite places to visit. The landscape is amazing and the grounds are clean and it feels as it it was created by nature and not made made. There are some Victorian accents scattered throughout the grounds.
Nice place to walk around and see some history. It was an interesting place to go on a date as it provided some things to look at and discuss as well as plenty of quiet to walk around and have our own private conversations.
Pretty place to visit. Love the greenhouses.
I will never set food on these grounds again
Very interesting. I will return when I can spend more time to take it in.
Impressive "Winter Lights at Newfields " display on.grounds of Indianapolis Museum of Art.
JUST BEAUTIFUL
Everywhere you look there is something wonderful to see
This is a solid example of 19th century country estate. We found the historical film clip, off the lobby, to be entertaining and educational. I think, at one time, the home had more furniture, though the wall exhibits are interesting. The gardens are well kept and the temporary recycled plastic animals are a fun-for-the-kids novelty. The gardens are well kept and then you have the park just across the river for those who like a good hike in the city..but that's for another review. The four stars is because you can no longer access the gardens without going through the freshly renamed Newfields Art Museum.
I usually dont like going on historical tours of any sort, but tour this home was interesting. It's a wonderful photo opportunity.
Very cool the the house was preserved historically
You'll need a camera to visit and take it all in, fancy pants
Winterlight displays are awesome. The Lilly house is always beautiful, but even more so decorated for the holidays.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great place to visit if you love history art, flowers and gardens. Spent five hours here could have spent more but it was closing time.
The gardens can be an excellent place to get away from the city. I love how you can feel secluded in the middle of the city.
What a beautifully kept house. Loved the self tour.
Great place no matter the season!!!! I will be back!!
Beautiful location for Penrod Art Fair!
Unique holiday treat! Highly recommend!
Beautiful place. Decorated so beautifully for Christmas. I can't wait to go back in the Spring.
Decorations made with papaya were fabulous and should be seen by all!
Love it
Beautiful everytime I go
Visited for Winterlights! The gardens and Lilly House are always beautiful!
Went for winterlights and the decorations were insane. So many paper chains everywhere.
Very beautiful gardens and grounds...wish we had seen the inside of the house. That will wait until we visit again. The brightly colored plastic Cracking Art was interesting...nice for a change but I wouldn't want it there all the time.
The gardens are amazing. You can walk for hours & hours. There are so many twists & turns that keep going. It's a great place.
Gorgeous grounds. I meandered around the gardens. Walked into the house and did a self guided tour. Everything was so pretty. Did not visit the museum of art.
The Lily House put The Garden in Beer Garden. What an awesome time. Decent beer selection and fantastic floral, plant, succulent etc
25+ years of memories made here. Beautiful
Beautiful gardens and gorgeous house. The house from the inside is a museum with not very interesting stuff for a millennial, maybe for older generations.
The history is there
Amazing place
Winter Lights was amazing! Great for families!
Super cool house.
Beautiful! Such an amazing piece of history. The grounds are immaculate.
Hermoso lugar para caminar y disfutar de la naturaleza en un día agradable. El costo incluye el IMA. tiene estacionamiento y mucho sendero para pasear
We paid $ 18 to visit this place. It is a nice place beautifully decorated and maintained. Upper floors aren't open for public. Good for 1 time visit.
Love this place.
Gorgeous house. Great place to visit.
Beautiful grounds! Oldfields is now Newfields!
Beautiful grounds. The Lilly House is a must see with new displays on the second floor.
Gorgeous restored summer home from 1912 with a gallery on the upper floor. The lower floors are decorated with period furniture and artifacts. The library is magnificent.
Its beautiful but when i go through history i would like something more legit. To see how things really were back then.
Great place to at Christmas time to see the lights and museum
Amazing experience! Absolutely stunning though not much had bloomed yet! I can't wait to return
The lady sitting as you walk in the door was so helpful. She knew a lot of history about the house.
Beautiful place to bring the family
Way more beautiful and free then expected
Gorgeous
Wonderful orchid conservatory
Beautiful old fashioned home! Very big & spacious
The gardens are my favorite part of the IMA
Very beautiful home with it's original charm and gorgeous landscapes!
The walk around was amazing! Just being able to roam about the yard and around the fountain was fun for me. This is a great place to go to if you’re looking for a pleasant walk through a garden and by the fountain. The greenhouse was pretty cool. I didn’t think it was extraordinary but still fun!
So peaceful. A great place to visit where two days are never the same.
The Lilly house was gorgeous and winter lights setup was pretty.
One of the most beautiful place to be n the afternoon. Enjoying Nature and History
So so so great!! Very friendly and well educated staff. They constantly put work into the grounds. The greenhouse was my absolute favorite. It was extremely pleasant and a happy place to be in general. Guys!! Bring your lady here!! They will LOVE it. And you might too. There's a great big lake to walk around and site see. Perfect for when the weather is right. Absolutely recommend!
Did the Christmas lights walk and toured the Lilly house as part of that. Whole experience was more fun than I expected. Really well done. Appreciated the hand warming stations and the hot chocolate. Wine and whiskey seemed over the top.
The best part of this museum is the house.
Loved it
Beautiful home with informed staff. The tours are self guided with info on stanchions but the guards are more than happy to answer any questions.
Part of the Winter Lights at Newfields, former Indianapolis Museum of Art. Simply beautiful!!!
My favorite place to browse and buy new house plants. I also love to enjoy their collection of orchids and succulents. Many things you won't find elsewhere, and some unexpected gift options too!
What a beautiful place to visit! We really enjoyed this. How wonderful it must have been to live in such a beautiful home.
Spectacular Christmas light display
They have a great display of trees designed to match the rooms decorated throughout the home for holidays. I love hanging out on the veranda on the back of the home for overlooking ravine garden views. They have a huge dahlia garden with flower blooms as big as your face (dinnerplate dahlias and smaller).
What a surprise was not expecting the land and house to be so beautiful
Beautiful gardens, very peaceful and quiet.
Included in the price of admission at Newfields (the new brand of the IMA) the Lilly house and gardens are a historical and botanical landmark. Tour the Lilly house ground floor full of amazing antique and collectable furnishings or stop by the historic green house to view well kept plants and flowers of all kinds. Don't forget the summer beer garden out front of the green house!
This light show was very beautiful. The music elegant and tasteful. I would have loved a view from the 2nd floor. Marshmallows smores, and spiced cider on point
Attended early afternoon. Traffic was light and parking was easy. Nice clean facility with a decent cafeteria and various flower gardens to stroll on the grounds. Eli Lilly house located there and open for viewing. Nice collection of art on 3 levels. Apparently one of the best in US for "pointalism". Enjoyed a nice 1 hour tour by a local artist. Lovely afternoon.
lights were great i like how they had little hot cocoa stands every now and then but they were kinda expensive.
Supposedly haunted, the Lilly house is a gorgeous mansion with a lot of interesting history.
Newfields light display was magical!
Must visit!
This is the second year we have gone. More lights! It is beautiful. Love the ones synchronised to music.
Gardeners and art lovers paradise.
One of the unexpected high points to our visit! Great grounds and facilities! This is/was a personal green house, so it is not very big. Beautiful plants.
So beautiful! Our son loved the old car!
Awesome ! Loved the gardens. And happy to see that it is taken such good care by them.
Excellent Christmas Lights
Such a beautiful house and tours are free!
Outstanding
