We've got all the information of real people like you who consume the services and products of Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum (Museum) in Indiana.
Right now the firm has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 and that score has been calculated on 1266 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings that it reaches is basically the best one, and it is founded on a very high number of opinions, so we can conclude that the score is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum is included in the category of Museum.
My husband and I loved seeing the speedway and the museum. He's a huge racing fan and even though I don't normally watch it, I greatly enjoyed the museum and I learned a lot. There's something there for everyone to enjoy. We'd love to visit again and do the tram tour of the track!
The museum artfully takes you through over 100 years of racing history using the racing cars themselves. It's a great place for a photo, and you can enter the inner track area without paying if you just want a quick pic
So much history here. Great to see the evolution of the Indianapolis 500.
Great displays and we got to see some vintage cars racing!!
Lots of great pictures were taken here. It was great fun for everybody
The museum is bright, roomy and affordable. All our racing heroes are featured on the wall of victory. All aspects of the speedway history are displayed. On certain days you can tour the entire track in a van. The gift shop is pricey but fully stocked with many unique items. Fun for all. Don't miss it.
Great time, two laps around the track, best weekend ever.
Was an excellent way to kill some time and stretch our legs on a long trip. Some nifty exhibits to be seen.
Well worth a visit. They have an incredible collection of winning cars. Take the Kiss the Bricks tour.
Loved the speedway! It was my first Indy 500 and it was amazing! The staff were really kind overall. But parking sucks
Fantastic time. Humongous great seeing the bleachers, track, over 400000 seatings. So glad we came.
Went today for the Ferrari challenge, tons of great-looking and great-sounding machines! And all for free. Really cool parade of Ferraris, including some retro ones. If I could attach all my pictures I would.
They have cool old race cars outside the museum. Inside there are a couple of merchandise stores but we didn't enter as entrance fee is $10 per person which is kinda expensive. Anyway there is a Titus cafe outside (still in the building) where you can get coffee and another merchandise/souvenir store where you can buy shirts and caps at less expensive price. We got a shirt for our nephew for only $8 and a cap for $18.
Interesting, not that large, just a display of cars and not a lot of other history. Looking forward to lap around the track and that was not offered on this day. Indy memorabilia is WAY overpriced.
If you love the Indy race, this is your place. Great antique cars and friendly staff.
Great museum, rode around track on bus tour too.
It was cool seeing the different cars throughout the years. The kids got bored quickly because it's a bunch of reading and moving to the next car.
It was cool riding around the track!
Prices can be aweful for food, yet you can bring your own. Bathrooms- as you would expect, disorganized staff and method of operations at times. However there is plenty of good times to be had here. And it only gets messy after an event of course, it's well maintained otherwise. Expect rowdiness to stay outside the grandstands, security is visible and perhaps not always actively paying attention, easy to get their help when need be.
This year's 50th Anniversary Celebration of Mario`s Indy 500 triumph was incredible! It covered so many aspects of his career, from sprinters to F1 and Can-Am, plus the winning Hawk chassis.next to the Lotus 64 that was withdrawn after he crashed three days.before qualifying. I had forgotten that his first ride in F1 was for Parnelli...the Viceroy Super Team cars were a nice addition, too. PLEASE publicize the next time you exhibit the many turbine engine cars that you displayed a few years back! That was.one of my favorite special exhibits and I'd love to see it again. As always, the collection is amazing and the staff is both helpful and courteous! Thank you for a great visit.
Always a pleasure to visit. Great Mario Andretti display
Great place to visit, got to see the cars that won the 500 but I only hear about them
Great day trip, bigger then expected. Clean. Affordable
The history in the museum is a must see for any racing enthusiastic, Or automotive historian..
Great experience. Well worth the time and money. Make a point to see if in Indy!
Great place to see some of greatest racecars of all time !!!!!
One could easily spend a day at this place, I was there for over 4 hours and if I hand not had other plans latter in the day I would have stayed longer
Great tour! Wonderful, passionate people working there.
Great museum with lots of history and plenty of cars. Staff is very hospitable.
Really nice, good for a rainy day thing to go do.
Wow! Best racing museum I have ever visited. Awesome collection of historic Indy cars and memorabilia. Their sprint car display is awesome as well. If you are a racing fan, you owe it to yourself to visit! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The entry fee was well worth the price.
Once in a lifetime experience, got to go on the track, did a (slow) lap and kissed the bricks!
Had a great time on the speedway tour. The museum was wonderful.
Well maintained. A good museum of vintage race cars, etc in a beautiful manner.
We got the "Kiss the Bricks" tour with museum access and it was totally worth it. The museum itself is a historical panorama of race cars, drivers, and background about the the speedway. They also have a rotating display that included sprint cars when we were there. As cool as the museum was, riding around the 2.5 mile track (even at 30 MPH) was tremendous. Stopping at the start/finish line to stand on or even to kiss the Bricks was awesome. If you are in Indianapolis, this is a must-see attraction.
We got to do two laps. The Corvettes had fun.
Great to see 100 years of racing history!
What an incredible place to visit and see the automotive history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for just $10! See the race cars that have made fans cheers for the last century! Marvel at the men and women who made history on the track. I enjoyed the film on the history of this place in the small auditorium. Very well made mini-documentary. Walking around through the various exhibits was amazing: admiring the cars, trophies, photos, posters, and car parts was memorable. I also got to see race cars practicing outside for a weekend race. The gift shops are pretty neat too. Definitely stop for a souvenir. Nice to see lots of families present enjoying the experience together.
What a thrill and fun place to see and shop. New key chain with compliments from the track. At just a few dollars they told me about a November Sale.
This was a really fun so on a long road trip. Dozens and dozens of fabulous historical race cars. All cars on display are Indy 500 winners, as well as other significant race winning cars. Deeper into the displays the are race engines on display. If you get a chance, try the Indy 500 simulator.... wow, that wad fun!
I recommend anyone and everyone to visit and check out the museum.. The museum is not only very informative but also very clean and organized. Literally, from the gift shop to the racing cars and on to the timelines of various important individuals, I thoroughly enjoyed myself as I became enlightened on who made the Indianapolis Motor Speedway what it is today.. Excellent customer service. 10/10.
My 6yr old twins enjoyed it although there wasn't much for them to do other than view the cars. This is a great museum if you're a fan of the 500 race. There's a good variety of cars to view.
this is racing capital of the world. F1 racing started from here. visited the museum and the racing track in 2015 along with my family. very enjoyable tour with lot of informative conducted tour of the entire race course.Indianapolis city is nothing without this racing track.good little town between st louis and columbus.
Must see if you are in indy.. neat place with lots of history..
No Tours Today because of a local Marathon Run. Come on! This is a car race track. And: Why no information on the Webpage about this? Displays in the museum are very good.
If you are a gear head or just like auto racing, this is a must to see. Many winning cars in the museum and you can take a bus ride around the track. You get to stop and kiss the bricks! I was here like 10 years ago and they have expanded the museum since then, so new stuff to see! Nice gift shop as well.
It was great, they had many cars from different times
It's a must visit place for petrol heads and those who love the Indy 500 races, and to get a feel of the legendary race track. The museum was good too with the vintage and current race cars. Would recommend visit as it is one of the top 3 race tracks in the world.
Was a great place for entertaining friends and family from out of town
My 4 year old loved seeing all the different race cars and the admission price isn't too high.
The museum is very rich in history of racing and has lots and lots of cars to see from all generations. Plan at least two hours or so. The museum is good for all ages and offers some souvenirs as well.
Fantastic Museum at the Indy 500 track. I loves the Andretti theme this year.
Awesome some place! Tour was great & tour guide gave us an inside look at speedway & it's history. Museum was really cool. I will return again in the future.
We're great full to have this museum
QdAn amazing experience... the museum is chock full of interesting items, memorabilia, and facts. Totally worth the ticket just to experience this museum! The race must be a sight as well. Only saw the qualifying on Sunday but was fun as well, 230+ mph...that's fast! To think the first winner avg speed was 74mph. We have come a long way baby!
The best place to watch Indy Cars Love this place Movie Stars like Paul Newman,James Gardner....Vice President of the U.S.A. Mike Pence, General Chuck Yeager, just to mention a few...
Great place to visit. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Take the golf cart tour!
Lots of fun with the grandsons, great place to visit. lots of old race cars
I love this place. Cool old cars, a decent gift shop, free to military and IndyCar drivers are known to stop in fairly regularly. Tours of the track are available here also, and I recommend the more expensive tour as you get to go behind the scenes and see stuff normally resereved for teams and IMS workers only. Well worth your time and money.....GO!!!
If interested in car racing, it's worth coming here and look at how cars have evolved in almost 100 years
If you are a race fan this is a great place to go & be sure to take the tour of the track so you can kiss the bricks. It cost $20.00 a person to go around it but it is well worth it.
Awesome and learned some new facts for my Indy Trivia knowledge. Staff was super helpful and friendly, especially with the kids.
Day trip to The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Museum. If you like racing and racing history, take a trip here. Amazing! From 1911 to present, and all in between, the history of the famous track and people timelines through this wonderful exhibit. The staff are very knowledgeable and genually excited to share their knowledge with you. Take the tram out on the track for a real close view of the track. Kiss the Bricks at the start finish line. Stand in the "Canyon" and imagine the thrill. Awesome! Won't cost much. I believe it's like $10 a person for the Museum, then the tram fare is discounted with Museum. Good time if you like racing and racing history.
If you love Indy car, this is a must. Amazing display of cars that won the Indy 500. Great historical timeline of IMS track history. They was an Indy car in the North Hall that had the body cut away down the midline so you could see everything, engine, electronics, suspension, etc. Another engine was on a nearby table in parts with directions to 'please touch'. Great museum. I suggest 3 -4 hours.
Came here while at National FFA Convention and I'll never forget this expirence. Even if you're not the biggest fan of cars or racing you'll still have fun.
Excellent, if dated, museum of the Brickyard and it's storied history. Wonderful little scavenger hunt quiz that kids can take to learn about the speedway.
Good bus tour of the track. Good museum. Gift shop a little pricey.
Fun place to see if you've never been here. My first time and we went on the track and saw the yard of bricks. There is a lot of history here. There was about 300 elementary school kids that showed up on buses so it was a little crowded and hectic but the museum is well laid out. I'd like to come back and see a race here one day.
A great place to see the history of the cars that raced at this track.
15$ are to much. The museum is boring. You can only see cars without a description. And the audio tour you listen to is to quiet. The reason why I give at least one point is that you can kiss the asphalt during the tour. :(
It was well worth the visit! If you love cars and history, you'll love the museum!
First time there very friendly people, grandson loved it.
I loved the museum and the tour don't miss the opportunity to drive around the track and kiss the bricks at the finish line.
Absolutely an amazing museum that shows all the contributions that car builders and drivers have made to this awesome speedway over the last century plus. A must stop for anyone that enjoys international motorsports and is interesting in learning more history about this wonderful place. Highly recommended to anyone passing through.
If you're a fan of open wheel racing, this is a must see. Went during the Mario Andretti exhibit.
Very cool museum that was an fun for my father and I as it was for my 3 year old son. We had a great time visiting on a whim and will definitely be returning.
This is a cool museum for racing enthusiasts. There is a lot of history in those walls so allocate a fair amount of time to get to it all. Be sure to talk to the support staff at the museum. They are extremely knowledgeable about the history of IMS.
Wow! One of the top 10 on my bucket list. Don't miss out on this track. Be sure to visit the museum.
Nice place to see some cool cars on the race track!
Great history and tour through race track. Was sorry other tours weren't available. We would have GLADLY gone on some of them.
Awesome and mind blowing. Enjoyed seeing classic race cars as well as newer models. Wished we could have taken a ride on one. Tour is separate, but worthwhile. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable about what goes on behind the scenes.
Nice static display with added treat of circling the track with recorded sound track explaining history of the Speedway.
Neat place to visit. Lots of racing history
Surreal ! Would have been nicer if the café was open
If we were bigger Indy fans, I think we would have liked it more. Cool cars that you can get up and close up for pictures. Off season, it was a ghost town.
My dad and I were life long race fans. After he passed I knew I had to make the pilgrimage down to see the race. Unfortunately I didn't make it to the race since they were calling for rain but I made it down the following day. It was amazing. Loved it! So much to learn and see! Definitely worth the drive!
Great to see Mario Andretti cars up close. Well worth the trip!
Great place to see motor racing history in the US
Awesome experience and great venue including tours and interactive activities and photos
Nice museum where with get to see real race cars from the 1920's up to today.
First off, we are not race fans. We were killing time and thought we would stop in. This was really cool. Got to see old Indy cars all the way to the new ones. The i formation was fascinating and got to go down on the track as well as drive a simulator. It was a lot of fun and i can see how a race fan would be in love. The Mario Andretti exhibit was there...dude was good.
Loved it. Two thumbs up.buy you Indy 500 tickets now. Once of a lifetime experience.
GREATEST TOUR EVER THANK-YOU MIKE SMITH.
Great staff and amazing place of history and modern racing. Even if you're not a fan of the skirt, like myself, it's still a must see if greatness and history. Great gift shop too.
Really enjoyed the museum with my husband and 2 year old son. Great place for families!
Announcer says people supposed to be giving out autographs not One race or stop even try then on top of that you go to the shop in here so you're allowed to take your drink in there as long as a LIDS on my leg was securely tied on it and then another lady told me I couldn't have my drink there so then that was a waste of $5 for a bottle pop what a joke at this place would not come back here or waste my time again
Our first visit. What a great place and tour!! Tour guide Isaac is very knowledgeable about the Speedway.
Really awesome all around and great staff there. Going back someday.
IMS showcases the best of motorsports. They have preserved its rich history and merged it with the newest technology for an exciting ride! Check out the amazing museum!
Great museum even if you aren't into racing. It is a great tribute to the history of racing.
Stellar showcase of iconic racing history! Worth admission and continued support. Highly recommend
Fun place to visit, quite a few amazing cars that were winners of the Indianapolis 500, including the first to win in 1911.
$10 Sunday before raceway. Air conditioned. Lots of stuff for race fans. Everyone else, not so much.
What a great time! Was just passing through town and figured I would stop in and check it out. Very worth the ten dollars! However the "car" that you can sit in is just a TV prop and the racing simulator is forza. Still a wonderful spot to stop.
Very interesting place to see! They have a lot of historic and newer race cars to look through. The Kiss the Bricks tour is definitely worth the money! The staff are very knowledgable and some are even retired racers!
It is a small museum but it has a lot of nice cars and history of the motor speedway. I visited in February so it was not crowded and the people working there were nice.
Lots of amazing cars. It could use some more detailed informational placards for each car.
Love this place! My Great Grandfather Harry McQuinn is listed inside as a driver from 1934-1948. He then served as Chief Steward.
Once in a lifetime trip nice place even though I'm not a race fan
One of the finest museums anywhere. Much, much better than the Louvre or MOMA.
If youre into hardcore racing or love the Indy 500, then you'll enjoy it, but for the price it wasn't very big, and I didn't think worth it, there were fun things but had extra costs. Not our best stop, but auto racing isn't our jam either
Amazing is all I can say.
Awesome assortment of historic Indy cars Inexpensive and great gift shop
A must see if in the area. So much history is here. You will not be disappointed.
An interesting museum with very friendly staff
Great collection of race cars, nice and compact. Great road trip stop.
Great as always. Glad to have seen Mario's exhibit!
The home of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing! A bucket list place to visit and event to attend! It's the largest single day sporting event in the world! So much history and pageantry! I love it!
Donny's sister was here from South Carolina & others were working so he suggest we go to Indy to the Museum instead of just sitting around. We've never been to the Museum. I enjoyed it very much. Looking at the cars & there is a Pace Car Pool Table. Lots of memorabilia & things on display about the Drivers, Winners & their cars, race suits through the years. Also a view of the bleachers in the distance.. And Gift Shop. Photos are welcomed.
Really cool museum, amazing cars, with extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. You can really tell they live to talk about the stuff there. Definitely a must see if you get the chance. Great place for all ages.
Loved this place. The museum was interesting. If you're a race car buff, it would be fascinating. The guided tour of the grounds was excellent. There were cars on the track during our tour so we couldn't get on the track itself. But standing next to the track while they zoomed by was awesome.
Always a nice place to visit to see how much the cars have changed over the last hundred years.
Loved all the different eras of car models.
Loved it. Really enjoyed watching the cars on the track.
Best Indy museum I've ever seen. Could use a section to celebrate their motorcycle racing.
Got to check this place out if you love racing. So much history at this track.
Great museum. Awesome ppl working in there from the wonderful lady at the counter for the museum, she took our 1/12 yr old grandbaby behind the counter right off the bat. She let my grandbaby hand us our tickets. Big smiles from all of us right from the start. There were older gentlemen set up outside the different rooms and they were very knowledgeable and oh so friendly getting to know our little group and it was funny how he was trying to figure out the family relationship. They had a wide assortment of race cars on display you could really get up close to the cars to look at all their parts and pieces. Lots of cool racing history memorabilia and trophies that were give out in the past. They had a gift shop but everything was so expensive would have liked to have bought more than a couple of shot glasses souvenirs.
Super cool place! If you are in from out of town or even a local resident, this place is a must see. You never know what or who you will see here. Open year round. Good place to go outside of races
This is the museum at the speedway. It is small but reasonably priced and interesting. There's a car you can get in to take a picture and also a place where you can dress like a pit crew member and get your picture made. Luckily we heard they were able to do the track tour just before we left. We enjoyed the tour and the museum. Take it in if you're in the area.
It is absolutely amazing! Had s great time and got to kiss the bricks.
Awesome! Can't explain more. Will go back !
Amazing experience. I went on the kiss the bricks tour with my wife and two sons. We all LOVED it !!! Great displays of racing history.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the most historic motor racing venue in the world, the museum showcases this history with a huge display of race winning cars, trophies, photographs and memorabilia. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the gift shop has a great selection of souvenirs to remember your trip to the speedway. A must visit for any motor racing fan!
Went to get warm during practice and qualifying for the Grand Prix and thoroughly enjoyed the Mario Andretti exhibits. Well worth the $10 entry fee. Lots to see and read including a nicely done 8 minute movie covering the history of the speedway.
10 bucks for a small museum... however, if you love cars, racing, and history - put it on your list.
The museum was great, very clean, and everyone was friendly. But I think there could have been more child friendly activities or exhibits.
My father and I traveled to the raceway museum as one of our destinations on our annual motorcycle trip. The museum was very informative. The Brickyard Crossing Golf Course was a blast. As an added bonus there was a car show in the raceway parking lot.
Always a great time with different drivers featured each year. This year was Mario Andretti. Awesome cars and stories.
We love this place. Nice displays and you learn a lot about the history of the track
.Greatest spectacle in motor racing. Pretty much says it all
What a great museum!! If you are a Indy or F1 fan this is your place to be!
Was pretty cool to walk around the museum. It cost $10 for adults and my year old was free. Plenty of interesting facts.
U need to see this place at least once in your life, one of those bucket list places. Good to go during poll qualifying
We had a VIP tour schedule last month. Unfortunately it was during nothing but rain the entire weekend. Since the VIP tour uses golf carts, they had to adjust our tour a little. They also reduced our cost and lengthened our tour a little since we were in the last group. Our guide was not just a guide but a life long fan. We saw much of the sites that you only see from the out on TV. The infrastructure is phenomenal to understand when the world's following one race in many languages, countries and mediums. If you have the chance, go for it.
Loved the history. The automobiles and how over the years things changed. Great service.
Lots of History here a fun way to spend a couple hours
What a Beautiful experience learning of the history of the Indi 500 and see all the career of Mario Andretti and see in person all the cars he raced. Never in my live was thinking to coming here but thanks to my granddaughter that she was born here in Indiana 3 months ago we had this nice experience
What can you say, The Greatest Spectacle in Racing. The track is awesome. Safety is#1. Family friendly. Kids area. Foods and fun.
