REVIEWS OF Cantigny Park IN Illinois

A beautiful park to visit with family. Kids loved it here. There is no admission fees , they charge $10 for car parking. The first division musuem is a must visit. They have tanks outside the museum and kids had a good time exploring the tanks. Volunteers working there are awesome!!

Sarah Wolfe

This place is really cool. From the beautifully kept grounds and gardens, to the unique playground, to the awesome tanks and amazing museum, I could spend all day there with my kids. I have 2 boys so they particularly didn't want to leave the tank area. But so much to see and a great place that educates and honors the 1st Division! For anyone who appreciates the American military, our veterans, history in general, and particularly anyone with kids, I highly recommend a visit here!

Adrianna Dania

I really enjoyed coming here. I took a walk around the area with my mom and it was great. Perfect to walk here during fall to see all the different colors. I will definitely come back here when there are events in the area.

Mercy Snow

Cantigny is the most wonderful place. It can be romantic in the gardens w just the two of you or a great place to bring the kids. The War Museum is intriguing and interesting, a learning experience in a peaceful setting . The gardens are quite large with beauty at every turn. Don't miss a tour of the McCormick Mansion. It's filled w the McCormick's things. Their imported Chinese wallpaper is still on the dining room walls; General McCormick's own books are still on his library shelves. The grounds include a gift shop, restaurant and small coffee shop. Just $5/car to get in.

Joliet Jake

Hadn't been here in over twenty years. What a beautiful place to walk around and learn something at the same time. The sand sculpture included sand imported from the beaches of Normandy. I was in awe standing before it.

Randy Evans

Great place to visit very educational staff friendly and helpful

Nathan Johnson

A really neat park and museum to visit. The gardens are great to walk through. You can stroll across the grounds. You are able to get up close to the tanks. The museum is great at showing the history of The Big Red 1. Staff is so helpful and friendly. Awesome little gift shop, snack shop, and restaurant on the park grounds as well. This a park that you can spend all day at.

Hatim Bookwala

Beautiful place for a picnic....make sure to visit the war museum.

Howard Hecox

Annual Lego exhibition is fantastic for kids of ALL ages. Plus the WWI museum is positively Smithsonian quality. Entrance is only $5 per car regardless of number of passengers. Plus the collection of tanks is great. Our family always invites friends to join us and everyone is impressed.

Misses Lovable

Very peaceful. Loved how you can do your own thing nobody bothers you

Tracy Hulett

We've been Cantigny members for years. My father was a WWII veteran and we began going because he really enjoyed the First Division Museum. We love the special events - art fair, vintage baseball, lectures, concerts - the beautiful Gardens and paths, and the events for families. The big play space is located in a shady spot near the picnic area. Perfect for a family picnic. One of my favorite memories is sitting under the trees watching baseball as the breeze carried the music from a nearby concert in the pavilion. Cantigny Park is a gem.

Gregory Smith

If you love history, then this is the place for you!

Katie Hansen

Great place for the family to be outside, climb on some real tanks & very low cost.

Matthew Jerkovic

It's an amazing place to go to learn about military history and take some really amazing pictures of some wildlife and family foot arrest of the different Parker's they have to offer

Dawn Rogers

It was our first time there today. It would be nice if that had signs directing you to different highlights....like museum, garden, playground, restrooms, tanks etc...

Suzi Davis

We went through the tank.park and military museum. The museum is VERY well put together and VERY interesting. The tanks are outside and you can climb on them. I also watched them play old time baseball which was a lot of fun. I wish I had had more time to see the rest of the park but next time I am in town I plan on visiting again to see the rest. Good job y'all. Suzi. (Dallas Texas)

Dan Skvie

Very nice park. Great for family. A lot of great activities for kids. A lot of good stuff for adults as well. Great museum.

Ian Ewing

Loved it! Wish it wasn't rainy when we visited. Very handicapped friendly.

Linda Wasik

Everything was so terrific!! The Museum was the best I've ever gone to on WW1 2 and the Vietnam wars. The Mansion was beautiful The grounds were also very beautiful. Don't miss it!!! The cost is only $10.00 for cars and that is it.

Harrison 386

This was an interesting and very beautiful park to visit

Steve Gieser

Kind of an odd place with tanks and flowers. A good place to visit if you’re interested in World War One history. Otherwise, skip this place and go instead to the Morton Arboretum for more beautiful gardens and open spaces.

Kristina Bates

Beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the lovely grounds.

David Davis

We love Cantigny. I love the changes that they are making with the grounds. The pergola by the pond was torn down but it was time for that structure to go. Not sure what is up with the orange and yellow French furniture. But it is interesting.

Dave B

Amazingly well manicured grounds. This place is fantastic at making history come alive for children because they appear completely okay with you climbing on tanks to take pictures. Actually being able to inspect these up close, or even dangle from a large barrel should bring awe to anyone, and makes for some unique photo opportunities. I just learned that they hold concerts here, so I will be sure not to wait another twenty years before my next visit.

Ryan Barba

You can climb on tanks, take a tour of the McCormick house, go through the museum, check out the gardens, and go to political events. I've been here for a wedding and they do a wonderful job. Great place to spend the day.

Tony Hawa

Awesome place u can spend the whole day there without getting bored, it's the right place if you have visitors coming from out of town

Sue Sadkowski

Wonderful place to visit and walk and explore. Highly recommend the tour of the house, very informative. Nice little gift shop.

Al Litwiller

All of the military displays were very professional and fascinating. The gardens were beautiful. I will be back soon with the grandkids.

vg sagar

Very nice and beautiful park, plus museum.

Stavros Rebbeck

The home is really lovely, and the gardens are quite extensive. They recently redesigned the gardens around the lagoon, and while I liked them better the way they were, they are still beautiful. The Idea Garden is always fun for kids. I'm not a fan of the Military Museum, which is near the mansion and Idea Garden, but kids love climbing all over the tanks they've got on display outdoors.

Laura Boehm

Love the military museum, ardens, concerts in the Summer. Always fun.

Warren Kundis

Has something for everyone; lush gardens, first division museum, and large stately home.

Mathew Craig

Great area to have kids run around and play. A lot of it is under construction right now so there is only one or two areas you can really go right now

Allison Reed

I have been there three times with different people and enjoyed it immensely. The mansion is a must see. Especially for those who like architecture. The guides give an excellent tour and really know their subject! The tanks are fun to climb around on for all ages of kids. And the gardens are nice to explore, they change something almost every time I have been there. Have a great visit!

Deborah Guerra

Fun place to let kids climb various military tanks. New playground equipment. Museum is 10 stars if I could rate it that high!

Scott Meyer

Wonderful place to visit Great War Museum beautiful grounds.

Sergiu Zabrian

You can spend a great day there getting to see old military equipment along with the old residency of Chicago tribune owner. We had a fun day!

Guillermo Perez

Amazing place with so much historical information. Tank, tanks and more tanks!

Alexander Khait

Very nice park in the western suburbs, has European park and forest preserve style areas, small museums, outdoor tank alley, and restaurant and ice cream/coffee place. They also host various events when it is warm outdoors. There is an entry fee.

marc kerman

Beautiful park. Went to a wedding in Rose Garden

Crystal Holliman

This place was very nice. We came as a parent student field trip. We learned a lot it was still very much cool outside so we were unable to enjoy the garden as they had not bloomed as well. We will be going back to see thongs that we missed.

Lucia Pard

Cantigny never disappoints. The grounds are gorgeous and the exhibits engaging. Did the tour of the mansion for the 1st time and really enjoyed it.

Michelle K

Great place to visit. Museum, activities and beautiful grounds.

Artika

A lot of information about just about everything on display. Very immersive with all of the sounds and displays and a lot of creative things to do with different wars and parts of them. Awesome experience really! Got to learn a lot about tanks also since you can climb all over them! Also very cheap to go because it's only $5 a car

TJ Struck

I always love coming here - have been since I was a kid. Love climbing on the tanks and going through the military musuem they have. I was pretty disappointed in them removing the drop ramp from the Higgins boat in place of a lame screen that rolls up in the D-DAY exhibit. It really added to the submersion. They changed some minor things in the Vietnam exhibit too. The combat radio is no longer there where you can listen to the radio during combat. The soldier hidden in the bushes is no longer there either. I do love the new modern exhibits across the room! The VR feature is pretty good too.

Amanda

Beautiful! And there is so much to do I can't even give a complete rating. I actually went to the Movie nights in the park they have on Fridays and it was so beautiful like these pics, and this wasn't even the garden or golf course!!

Michele Tomlin

Cantigny park was beautiful. Unfortunately there is still a lot of construction and blocked areas which made our walk a bit disjointed. However, the gardens and pond were accessable and breathtaking. The colors were so vibrant even though the day was cloudy with intermittent rain. The restaurant was open as was the main entrance. This is a wonderful place. I look forward to visiting again soon. The military museum was nice and the display of tanks is very interesting and well maintained.

Michael Greenwood

Great memorial day service. Museum is a visit every young person should take. Kids big and small live climbing on the tanks. The house tour is a must. I suggest the guided tour. The gardens and ground are beautiful.

Kevin Henderson

Very interesting. 1st Division museum was really nice and kids love climbing on the tanks.

Hector Castaneda

First time here. Beautiful park!

tom musto

Enjoyed the grounds and the 4's music great time.

Shirl Benda

Picnic or watch a concert under the shade of giant trees. Beautiful!

Kathleen McNulty

Beautiful park. Went for a historical reenactment (Revolutionary War). They treated us very well.

Micah Fowler

Beautiful! Words cannot express it's beauty.

Kimberlee Armbrust-Heuer

Iv always loved this place. But so much of it is still under construction. All you can see by the tanks area now is parking lot and construction. Very disappointed for paying $10 to get in.

Geoffrey Rose

500 acres of land with many hiking and walking trails. The war museum is a must see along with the old mansion. In summer you can enjoy the flowers. There's also a good food venue for when you get hungry. Admission is free but there is a parking fee of 10 dollars and no senior discount.

Christopher Manning

Outstanding 500 acre park. Wild turkeys in the parking lot and a great tank display on the grounds. The museum is a history of the 1st Division, US Army. Well done!

Michael J Hopkins

Visited today with my family. I haven’t been here since I was 11 on a field trip from school. We took the full tour of the house and First Division Museum, I even climbed on a few Tanks just as I did when I was a child but this time I shared the experience with my daughters. It was a Blast it brought back memories. I learned a lot more now than I did when I was 11. We will be returning in the fall to see the leaves change. Simply Beautiful.

Daniel Heckle

Beautiful, well organized, easily accessed, and amazing for all ages.

Laura Jerbi

Got to meet the new director of the museum and he is fantastic. Lots of plans to expand the us military history of the Big Red One.

hugo G

Love coming here and kids do to! Highly recommend if you're looking for an all day event for the family and working on a small budget!

Todd Marcheschi

Food truck festival review 2019 Let me be clear this is for the food truck fest. 2019 NOT for the park itself! The park is amazing, just not on a good truck day! Oh everyone beware get here early, it took 30 min to get into the parking then they shut it down. As I stand here 60 people deep to get a hamburger and my wife waited thirty minutes for a pizza to be told ok it will be another 30 min is fought. They have about 18 trucks one closed so disorganized. No garbage cans ok toilet facilities don’t bring a stroller and don’t bring hungry kids. I would say this is growing pains and boy is it painful.

Mosty Bar

What a beautiful place! I enjoyed the gardens! Took a lot of pics of the grounds. Do not forget to visit the house. Our guide was very pleasant and helpful with questions. I have not been there often but I am looking forward to another visit soon. Linda Adamik

Great acoustics, beautiful grounds, but hard to see the band if you are far because grounds not flat. We were on lower ground. They had traffic directors to help exit which made it easy :)

Christine K

The admission is 10 bucks per vehicle. Veterans get in for free as long as you show your card, 10% off at restaurants/gift shop, and only 59 bucks to ⛳. You need to fill out a form to get the veteran discounts. The museum is cool (self-guided)....one side beginning til Vietnam War other side Vietnam til now. They provide wheelchairs as long as you give an ID. They also have McCormick House Self-Guided Experience 1-4:30 pm and Outdoor Concerts periodically on the weekends. They have tanks outside for kids to climb on. The food is ok from the restaurant. Overall...good experience! If u like

Susan Starnes

Currently undergoing renovations to large portion of grounds. Military museum is a must see and you can spend several hours going thru. Nice updates to the gardens. Small cafe in visitors center with wraps and sandwiches. Restaurant was closed for a private event.

Tony L

Under major construction at this time. The majority of the grounds are unaccessable but the gardens that are open are excellent. Looking forward to the seeing what's in store.

Robert Youman

Beautiful gardens. A great walk in the park and important history.

Jessica Ford

My family loves visiting Cantigny! We visit at least once every year. It's sort of nostalgic....my mom used to take my brother and I every year when we were kids. Great time, and awesome picture ops!!!

Lada Zaria

A family destination that appeals to guys and girls, older folks and young Super elegant gardens with many walking paths and a WW1 museum with several tanks. The gardens and parkways are the best local place for wedding and engagement photo shoots. They have unique wind chimes in a few places and the sound creates a mystical ambiance. The grounds have a Rose garden, educational garden to help you up your own gardening game, and a prarie area that's great for a quiet walk. Lots of kids were impressed with the WW1 Museum, and that's saying something! The staff are amazing, and they have several garden and museum events throughout the year, including a bring your dog day!

Michelle Rodriguez

This place is beautiful. We did our wedding pictures here years ago in the fall and they came out beautiful. In the spring and summer I enjoy coming here with my kids. The new Park area is really nice. The tanks are interesting to read about when the kids climb. The gardens are well kept. It's a deal to only have to pay $5 for the carload.

Amy Herring

We love December at Cantigny. The LEGO show is a family tradition. What a super fun event. We usually take a walk around the grounds, too. Love all the enhancements they have done for kids, families and walkers. Well done.

Kyle Feldt

Great area the 1st Infantry museum is outstanding I'm here for the 5th Native American Indian veterans gathering 25-27 July 19

Love Cantigny!! Nice relaxing stroll through beautiful gardens. The mansion tour is cool! Great place for weddings and birthday parties.

Drew Jacobs

A beautiful place to run around, play on tanks, and learn some history.

Terry Nichols

Excellent display. Youth and adults can climb on all the tanks. Great fun.

Mariya Koci

Just a beautiful place to do stuff with family. We had our wedding pictures taken there a while back. Very nice place.

Lori Sharum

Super fun and educational for everyone. The kids LOVE climbing and playing in the beautiful park on all of the tanks.

I enjoyed Cantigny. Attended with co-workers and it was a great experience.

Ricardo Memoli

Beautiful spot to visit. The museum was incredible!

Kay Warner

Photographed weddings here... great backdrops all around... lots of area to use despite construction.

Camille Martha

Great place for the boys to climb to their hearts content very informative museum on site.

Grant Armbruster

Absolutely love this place well kept grounds as well as Historical Museum at the main house. Wonderful displays of Tanks the kids completely enjoyed. The Big Red One Museum was superbly done. The only thing that I would question is some of the anti war end militant black propaganda didn't need to be in the Vietnam displays

Kaushik Shubhank

A pleasant surprise! Such a great and massive place where we saw a war re-enactment (with actors firing shots, cannons etc. playing out a full ground war scene with formations). This was free of cost, only cost being that to get a parking ($10). Equally amazing was the detailed war musuems where we got to see the history of 1st division, world war history, VR experiences for a combat mission in a Black Hawk, actual items used in those wars etc. All at no cost! Overall, this a great park with huge open spaces, tanks from WWI era kept throughout for show, a small and clean water stream inside, and lush green grass to sit and enjoy time with your family. Also a must go place if you love seeing historical war related musuems.

PlainOlBill

Fun and educational place to go. McCormacks mansion is fantastic. Great place to teach kids.

Adam Gear

If history and specifically historic armor and artillery is your thing this is a beautiful place. In addition the landscape and flower gardens are very beautiful, something to behold.

Valerie Bastian

Very beautiful a nice tribute to the veterans very inexpensive for families to enjoy

John Getty

Beautiful grounds and gardens. Great military museum with very good displays.

Alexandria Moran

This place is a gem. You pay for parking and everything else is free. That includes the house tour and the war museum. The grounds alone are worth the trip and the new restaurant has delicious food at very reasonable prices.

Justin Lei

Great place to admire the gardens and a nice historical museum to honor veterans from ww1 and onwards. Also the tanks are pretty cool haha

David LaRocque

Beautifully maintained, excellent quality museums. Watch out for the current revitalization project impacting a large portion of the grounds.

Melissa P

We have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. It's a beautiful peaceful atmosphere to spend the day with the family and learn some history. The house is beautiful and it's very cool to see the military equipment. Take the ride and see it, it's VERY affordable! Stroll the grounds, enjoy the history.

Stefanie Huebner

A wonderful stop to visit with my son. He enjoyed the tank park, and we are both history lovers, so the mansion and military museum were very interesting. The flower garden is absolutely beautiful!

Henry Thompson

Great place for family and music on Sunday afternoon. Everyone should come and enjoy.

Mark Shoemaker

Tank Park is such a good time with the kids. I love that they are able to climb all over the tanks. Amazing little walks all over the grounds. Whether it’s gardens, massive trees, or grassy fields...there is a ton of beautiful nature to take in. There is a cafe next to the visitor center that has decent coffee. They also serve smoothies and a bunch of drinks for kids. The park is handicap accessible. I have only seen one other park like it. I love that they designed the park with these kids in mind. Splash pad is closed permanently....sad day.

Emily Lech

Amazingly clean facilities (including bathrooms)! Super helpful staff. Kids will stay engaged too!

Sharon Knight

Beautiful day to stroll the enormous Rose garden and Butterfly Gardens. You must experience this gorgeous place. Witnessed a wedding group and large family having a quinceneta for their daughter. Just a wonderful place.

Donna Baer

This museum tells an important story of our history, and pays tribute to the men and women whose sacrifice makes our freedom possible. Meal served to our large group nicely done, but it was the history which made the stop worthwhile. Beautiful grounds, helpful staff and great new features. Thank you Cantigny!

Jonathan Lynn

Great place to learn some history about Robert McCormick and get a hands on experience with tanks of history and modern times. Beautiful grounds and gardens to visit at any time of the year.

Cathy Konya

Loved it. The tanks had great information kids loved climbing on them. Clean and lots of fun

tracy groark

We paid $5 to park and everything else was free. The tanks were a huge hit with all three of my kids (ages 19, 15, & 10). The grounds are beautifully manicured with paved walkways, except in the gardens and directly around the tanks. The museums have so many exhibits with a lot of clothing, weapons, personal items, and stories about the soldiers. So very impressive!

Heather Cummings

This place is awesome. Fully interactive museums, and actual tanks that you can take photos on. They also do some pretty cool events , just check their calendar. We really enjoyed the 'Doughboy' beer and donut tasting, with a historical presentation that followed.

Rabia Noureen

Literally a piece of heaven on earth. Couldn’t have picked a better place for our photoshoot. Will definitely go back again. Free and family friendly as well

Alfonso del Granado

Lovely park, with a small but very nice military history museum. This was my first visit but my wife remembers beautiful flower gardens later in the summer. We also did not get a chance to visit the McCormick house museum. Admission was reasonable ($10/car) and there was a country music concert when we arrived. I would recommend this far above the nearby Morton Arboretum which is $15 per person and has little that you cannot see just by walking around the surrounding forest preserves for free.

polishamericanjunky 102

Very nice place to visit. Lots of things from world war two, tanks (which kids can climb on), museum, and its free.

Scott Van Ness

the Big Red One muesum is truly amazing the whole place is great i highly recommend going

Tom Mccaslin

Truly a piece of paradise in such a busy city.

melissa brown

Go 2-34 th armour. Awesome place to visit

Gerald Fon

If you love history or you love flowers, Cantigny Park is a beautiful place to enjoy both. If you have kids between 7 to 12, there is a lot for them to see. Pay for parking, but admission to the Park's museums is free. The estate of the late editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune, who started WGN radio and WGN TV, Colonel Robert T. McCormick, has been maintained as a legacy and a monument to the 1st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. The museum is devoted to the role of the Big Red 1 in wars from WWI to WWII to Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq. The guided tour of the house is a treasure trove for any history buff.

Menoats Untouchable

Nice park inhabited with mostly elderly.

Very interesting area. It has a golf course, war museum, and very cool area for large events such as weddings. The war museum is a fascinating experience and the decommissioned tanks are very cool and fun too look at. The giant mansion also is very cool with several different tours for it. Overall very cool place with lots of interesting history behind it, would reccomend!

julia Bumbales

Wonderful gardens to tour and very well planned war museum. Nice arrangement of tanks around the museum.

Alison Dodson

Cantigny has a variety of activities for everyone. Every year they do a Revolutionary War reenactment. This includes several people dressed up in Revolutionary War style clothing, a tent city which replicates the time period and several time period demonstrations (candle stick maker, black smith etc.). They also do battle reenactments, canon demonstrations, troop formations, etc. This is a great way to teach your children history. The schools teach it out of a book, but to actually see in person what is in the books is pretty cool and leaves a lasting impression. They have also had WWII and Civil War reenactments in the past.

saral gupta

Great place, kids love it especially the war museum and sitting on the tanks

Ramkumar Gandhi

We loved this park.you only need to pay for parking and nothing more. There is acre of place for you to sit,walk,jog,run...anything that you like do. It has a beautiful and well maintained. Beautiful place for photo shoot for wedding. Fun come learning place for kids. Highly recommend this place to spend a day with your family.

E C

Pretty place. We waited an hour and a half for wings during the food truck event. It's all about the journey not the destination. We left right after getting them. We only had time for that. It twas good.

Kirsten deLorimier

We recently held my father's Memorial Service at Le Jardin in Cantigny Park and it was wonderful. From Lindsey's amazing planning and prompt communication to the amazing staff that worked the event, everything went off without a hitch, and the food was great, too! I would also like to note that since we were hosting a Memorial Service, they did not charge us for use of the venue, nor charged us a "minimum" amount we had to spend, which I thought was incredibly generous.

Julian Vigder

Great place to spend a few hours. Beutiful grounds.

John Ford

Awsome, cant believe i have never been here before. But ill be back!

Gene Maule

Fantastic day with my 12 year old grandson including a sit down lunch in the restaurant, if the sun had been shinning it would have been a little better!

Tyler Newcomb

This place is free besides the 5 dollars for parking. The sprawling gardens are stunning, with several types of butterflies and birds. They have a pathway with military tanks dating back from the Revolutionary war up to more modern tanks. Anyone is welcome to climb on them and take great pictures! They also have a war meusem that's incredibly interactive as it takes you through the different wars throughout history making you feel like you're actually there! There is plenty to do here to fill up a day with your family and a lot of scenic spots for fantastic pictures.

Ellen Mardula

Love Cantigny! Great place to walk around and also get some fantastic pictures. Plus, it is only $10 for the carload to get in! The museums are amazing for history lovers. Be aware they are in the middle of a multi-year renovation. Cant wait to see what it looks like when done!

Cathy Mount

I have been there three times with different people and enjoyed it immensely. The mansion is a must see. Especially for those who like architecture. The guides give an excellent tour and really know their subject! This place was absolutely great and has a beautiful gardens as well. Very relaxing place.

Erica Katz

This venue has everything outdoors and historical one would want. We did our family pictures here and its beauty shined through our shots. We love the grounds that include sprawling acres of beautifully landscaped flowers and plants. We enjoyed recently renovated museum that offers insight to our past and present. They always have something going on worth seeing or doing. The also have an honor club for veterans.

Debbie Stevens

Beautiful flowers and gardens. Well maintained. Had an excellent tour of the McCormick house. Good food for lunch in the cafe

Joseph Iniguez

A great place to celebrate the fourth of July. It's also fabulous through out the year. This is all because of the late Colonel McCormick.

Israel Becerril

beautiful place, beautiful views, if you are visiting Illinois this is a place to go visit and learn something from Chicago history!!

Michael Vega

Cool place to checkout. Staff was very informative. You can also BBQ there on the property.

Anthony Piazza

Great park. Fun atmosphere for your family. Beautiful nature scenes.

Jacque Bursott

Beautiful well maintained park. Historical site featuring cannons and lovely museum. Relaxing walking paths and picnic areas. Gift shop and concessions available. Watch local newspaper for special events.

The park is specifically beautiful in the summer and fall; the first Division museum is informative and well crafted; and best of all, access to all of this free, besides a $5 parking fee.

Laura Clingman

Tanks on static display on the lawn and classic car show in the parking lot! All that fun in one location on one day! And these car shows, as I understand it, are regular events, call the park for scheduling.

Don Betker

Great place! I'll give it 5 stars when the construction is finished.

Jim Hajek

It is a very good venue for many types of musical entertainment. The professional staff are very good managers of crowded spaces.

Shirley Marx

Newer exhibits help to highlight the experiences of our brave servicemen and women, including goggles to put you in their shoes in recent ops. Respectful and actual representation. Unique inexpensive indoor experience in history from WW1 to present. Just pay for parking, entrance fees free. Also nice snack/lunch options. New playgrounds...outdoor summer concerts. Beautiful gardens to wander spring to fall. Tanks and cannons to explore. Mansion tours during spring to fall as well.

The Easter egg hunt was poorly run and a waist of money.( wich was run by the Boy scouts of America and a adult event) None of the participants followed the rules that were announced before the event started nor were they made to by the originizers of the event. Its ashame that most of the Participants who are grown adults can't follow the direction's of a event ment for kids who probably would have listened and followed the Rules of the event much better then the adults. I will never go back and participate in this event again and to the adults that wrecked it for everyone els you should be ashamed of yourselves!.

A well known park with an outdoor display of military vehicles, mainly tanks. Some well manicured flower beds. The tours inside are interesting. They have a cinema room that the Tribune management/ family used. The kitchen has some of the earliest refrigerators which I believe are still operational.

Great place to learn some history and very reasonable entry at $5.00 per car. Kids really like going there to climb on the tanks. The museum has great presentations (dioramas??).

Wonderful legacy from Colonel Robert McCormick. I have been visiting since I was a child. The park is a great place to learn and explore. Thank you to the staff and the many volunteers that make it so.
