Nice little museum. The exhibits showing the depth maps of the mines is great. Before or after visiting, I highly recommend the mine tour just one block over where you'll really learn about mining in the Silver Valley. A donation of $3/person or $7/family is requested.

Donna Brown

Very interesting to know these mines still are mined daily for silver

Cool museum with very informative displays about the process of mining and all the old school things they did back in the day mining for minerals.

This museum is wonderfully done! It's free but of course I suggest donating. The museum has a little "underground" section explaining the history and process of mining in the area. Nicely done and a must visit in the area!

The staff here are friendly and welcoming. The museum itself is quite small, but there's so much to learn about and see. My kids absolutely loved the scavenger hunt the staff gave them. It really got them to take an interest in the descriptions of all the items and what purpose they served. The motion sensor exhibit was quite neat and lent itself to immersing visitors in the "mining experience." My grandpa bought me some vials of gold and silver as well as some ash when I was young. I always treasured these, and now my kids have had the same special experience. They proudly display their vials on their shelf at home and talk about the museum from time to time.

Fun little museum with the most amazing 3D representations of local mines. They have an area where you explore exhibits done up like you are walking through a mine. The woman working the counter was friendly and very helpful.

This was a fun museum! Small but there’s enough in there to keep you busy for a while.

Dan Owens

We walk Wallace and drive through neighboring Burke ghost town whenever we're in this area. The mining museum is jam packed with mining history and the story of the Big Burn. Worth the stop here!

A charming facility with very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and attentive staff. The exhibits were so well presented and complete that my only complaint is that we did not have the time in our daily schedule to fully appreciate all that was there to see. I bought one book and I ought to have bought six. We were charmed by the town and delighted by the museum.

Can't say I'm all that interested in mining .... but I am a wildland firefighter and I have a lot of interest in the 1910 Big Burn, there is a modest display dedicated to that massive fire .... the cool thing is they have the original Pulaski. So here's a selfie with me and Ed Pulaski's original Pulaski.
