We were there, at Juni 2014 , a very useful Museum near the lakeside park , describing the early pioneers common lifes , and works , machinery . But the main atraction was the old enginer who was the staff , an extraordinary friendly man ! We would like to sending to him our warmest regards from Hungary !

My daughter went there a couple days ago as part of a field trip with her school and was very disappointed with the way she and my wife were treated in the gift shop. My daughter wanted to buy a necklace, post cards and a unique quarter. She took her items to the cashier and was told, by the volunteer working there, that it would be a minute due to "manager" being on the phone since the credit card machine shared the phone line. The volunteer immediately informed the manager that my daughter was waiting. After approximately five minutes the volunteer again reminded the manager that there was a customer waiting. Again, the manager continued her conversation despite customers waiting. Finally, after approximately five more minutes the volunteer made one more attempt to sway the manager to get off the phone. By this point my wife was frustrated and said she no longer wanted the items. The volunteer offered to "give" them the items for no charge. My daughter declined the offer and they left. Shortly after leaving, the manager ran out and met them in the parking lot. Her response was "I was trying to by a $2 million piece of property, I am sorry I couldn't get off the phone. But, you can come back and buy the items now." By that time my wife had no intention of returning due to the poor customer service they received. Maybe it's time for upper management (City of CDA? ) to intervene to assure that personal business does not interfere with people interested in Idaho/CDA history.

Even $4 is too expensive for this museum. Too many small bulletins to read on all the subjects; the pictures displayed are fuzzy, too dark, and too small. Updating the photos with a Photoshop program would be easy. Parking is included for 1 hour with paid admission, but you are not made aware of this until you enter the museum and then have to take your ticket BACK out to your car. This museum seems like it has not been updated since the '80s.

We don't have many museums in the area. This one is ok.

Was I ever impressed, by the individuals who are devoted to the Museum of North Idaho and all it has to offer. There is so much history to this area and the individuals who are committed to sharing it with the general public, need to be commended! Thank you for all you do and here's to many more years of educating the public with enjoyable information.

Excellent local history museum, the 25 minute movie gives a good overview of the history of the area. Best local history book selection in town, great location next to city park pace to get away from crowds and heat, free hour parking at parking lot next to museum, very friendly staff and volunteers.

Good Times

Very nice Museum, recommend taking the time to visit, if you have the time the walking tour worth doing !

Well put together museum for a small space. Lots of pictures to look at and some great models of the steam ships that ran in the area. My 4 yr old nephew loved it. His favorite part was the models and touching the Beaver pelt.
