Would have been an awesome place to visit had it been open when in actuality it is closed for the season. That sucks. Apparently it is closed from some time in October to some other time when it is open again for the season. Not entirely certain when the open season is and why that wasn't clear when we Googled it. Well, off to find something else to do in Montpelier.

This place is interesting. There are little details that just make the history come alive. The floor so has gouges from the patron's spurs, rather than having been refinished into pretty and smooth blandness. The vault is preserved as well as the old teller position. One star is removed as the place is not always open, but that also adds to the charm as well. This place is maintained by a private person out of their own funds, and having a real job means there are times when the place is closed.

This museum will be amazing once it's finished. It's still a great experience now. Definitely worth it. And the owner is super friendly and knowledgeable.

This little museum is totally worth a stop. Considering that the owner runs it as a hobby, he has put together a really cool and authentic slice of history. He has lots of small touches to the exhibit that are original to the period. And he's very friendly & knowledgeable. It's not open all the time, but a quick call or email will let you know when it will be open. And it's free. (Although he has some fun, unique souvenir options.)

Andrew Clark

The guys who are running it are incredibly helpful and extremely nice. Great experience! I hope it keeps going!

What a fun place to visit. It is not always open, no set hours, but if you are lucky enough to be there when it is open make sure you stop. The curator so so friendly and enthusiastic! He has a passion for this little project, and Montpellier is lucky to have him help their struggling Main Street.

Tessie Morgan

This was an awesome little private hobby museum. Really great information and curator! Bought a signed copy book that is a great read.

David Massey

Mostly just a gift shop where they constantly try to get you to buy something.

Wasted 45 minutes for the place to open. Says on the door it will be open at noon, and waited some time after that. Would have been nice to know...

We had the pleasure of meeting Radek last summer whilst we overnighted in Montpelier en route to Bear Lake. He opened the museum for us, we were fascinated by the detail of the restoration of the bank. They have restored a unique piece of history. Very interesting place run by friendly folks . Thank you.

Pretty neat little museum that was a bank that was robbed by Butch Cassidy. Has alot info about it. It's nice to see that someone wants to preserve a great piece of history. As it is owned by a private individual. Worth it to stop by

I have read good things but it was not open, even though it was supposed to be. Yes, I read the stupid sign on the door but it made me so upset that it wasn't open when it said it would be, I had to say something... Don't say you're gonna be there if you can't be there!

Love the history! Enjoyed visiting with the owner. You could easily charge adults $3 bucks, kids under 12 $1 buck to make a little more $. We had fun taking photos in the cell. Thank you!

Dusty Wilkinson

What a great museum so much history I love it plus you get to go into the original safe that Butch himself was in. And a plus you can also check out the old jail cell. Don't forget to talk to the owner he sure is a nice guy. I would highly recommend

Very interesting enjoyed it

Looks like they covered up history to host a giftshop. Which was closed during perfectly good business hours. Man is a mysterious creature.

The museum was closed, even though the Google search results listed it as open until 5:45 pm Tuesday, Sept. 18. We called the listed phone number and they said the museum closes after Labor Day. The web site for the museum states it closes a "little after" Labor Day, which is very vague. We drove from Twin Falls to see the museum after checking sources and believing it was open. They need to update their internet-based information.
