Awesome site. Arizona memorial is a must. Doing all the other museums require all day so arrive early. If you can’t hit it all then consider in order: The Missouri, it takes at least two hours to see it well. The aviation museum, my kids favorite, eat here. It has the best food in the whole complex. Go in the Bowfin in front of the submarine museum. If you are doing all museums, the the submarine museum is a great place to start if you have to wait a bit for your Arizona tour.

Stephen Butler

This was a somber and moving experience. There’s plenty to see, but I was a little surprised how small this area is that carried so much weight in getting the US into WWII. You can see slot for free or buy a ticket package to get in the USS Missouri, Bowfin Submarine and other areas. There is no entrance fee to the park itself. They have souvenirs and good/drinks available. Please hit “Like” if this was helpful. Thanks.

Robbie Erickson

Very worth the trip. I was skeptical that my 10 year old daughter would enjoy herself at Pearl Harbor. She loved it and was one of our top memories from our trip to Oahu. Make sure you check it out.

Pamela Falkenstein

My husband and I both got to the memorial by 6:30 am to do a walk up for the tickets. We were in the first group to enter. It was a very humbling experience. Something we will never forget!

Rob Gilz

The most amazing and respectful tribute to fallen heroes I have experienced. Well done guys take care of them. Regards Rob from Sydney Australia

DR Hunter

A very cool and historical place to tour. You have to book your tour way in advance and preferably online as the tours fill up fast.

Peter Norman Levesque

Solemn memorial of a historic event. Well laid out and very helpful staff

Megan D.

Very nice, however if you spend a lot and book a lot of things to do best get there early. Lost quite a bit of money. But otherwise very nice service.

The Real Jd

Excellent park with no charge into some parts and charges into others. You can watch the movie and catch the boat to the USS Arizona memorial at no cost. It's very educational and well presented with clear facts about the event and the aftermath. The museum can be visited before the film and this is also free and it sets out the whole conflict in great detail. The tour of the submarine and submarine museum has a charge but it is well worth the money. You get headsets that explain the sub in great detail as you walk through it. It has been restored to a near perfect representation of how it was in WW2. The museum is also very well laid out and covers all the way up to the nuclear subs that first went under the polar ice caps. Definitely recommended for anyone who likes to see great machines and learn about the past. If this is useful please like!

Riley Krug

Amazing experience, and a must do if in the Pearl Harbor area. Free entry but leave all bags in the car otherwise you have to pay $5 to store it during your tour.

Nichole Van Wagner

This was a disappointing experience. The grounds are not well kept, needs some serious TLC. They do not allow bags, purses, fanny packs or pouches of any kind, which might be okay if they gave an acceptable alternative, which they do not. They offer TINY lockers for $5 each, tiny meaning even a small handbag will NOT fit! I would guess about a 6" x 6" locker. A women's purse most definitely will NOT fit. And you don't get to lock up your own belongings. You have to hand it off to an attendant to take care of. In addition to the less than adequate locker option there are signs posted all over the parking lot warning you to not to leave any belongings in your vehicle as it is a high theft area. The whole thing is very unsettling; just supply your visitors with a safe and adequate storage facility! Next, our family was very much looking forward to this historical experience and we were greatly let down. Your entrance fee begins with a generic video that can be found on YouTube, followed by a brief, uneventful boat ride; featuring absolutely nothing. The Arizona viewing platform was closed for some sort of repair. We can only hope the experience is better when that is available. From there everything cost additional money. The museums, artifacts everything is an additional fee. It would be better if they just charged you an entrance fee and gave you the whole experience. It was quite a shock to get into the park to find it was going to be an additional $200 for our family to see our countries history. It is operated by the National Parks Service but national park cards are not accepted. It is sad that it is so costly to view and educate our countries heritage. Honestly, I think 2 stars is being generous.

Fiona McMurray

A very interesting site to visit. Although entry is free each part can add up to a considerable amount so be prepared, this is why I have rated 4 stars. The Arizona memorial is being refurbished but the movie and boat ride are fantastic and worth booking in advance so you have a guaranteed time slot. I learnt a lot and I felt they portrayed the enormity and importance appropriately. Also good to point out you cannot take a bag in, bag check is $5.

Aaron Jensen

Pearl Harbor is such a powerful place to visit in Oahu. I have always appreciated our armed forces but I will NEVER forget the feeling I had standing over the USS Arizona with such little knowledge of the sacrifice that went on there so many years ago. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Christine Layson

Plenty of picture worthy places to fill your instagram with. Headphones available and your able to walk through from place to place at your own leisure

Larry Morris

Toured the Missouri. I had a friend that served on that ship. That made things much more personal to me. We were late in the day so the guided tour was going to be shortened. We just walked around and explored by our selves. It was memorable.

David Griffin

USS Arizona was closed Amanda the boat ride we took around it wasn't well done. The volunteer guide talked in a monotone voice, reading a prepared speech with no emotion or charisma. Almost put me to sleep with the boats motion. The museum exhibit and audio your was cool but the ticket pricing was super convoluted. USS Arizona is free, but 7.50 for audio headset. Want to see USS Bowfin submarine that's right next door? That's another 15$ with a separate audio headset. Want to see the USS Missouri that's right next door? That'll be 30$ more..., Air museum? Fork it over... They have an all inclusive package for like $70pp but let's be real, this is a national memorial, not a trip to an amusement park.

Nathanael Williams

A wonderful, reverent experience that is full of history, honoring people from both sides and telling the story of pearl harbor as it was, sparing no detail. The Arizona memorial is the big attraction and if you want walk up tickets you need to be there at 7am, though I would say this is the best time as it is still nice and cool in the morning. The other attractions can then be visited at your leisure. Deffinately worth a visit.

Alex U

As someone who loves naval history this place was a dream. You get to walk the entire length of an actual WW2 submarine. I was able to walk right on in and there was barely anyone on board the submarine. Very tight at some points to get through a few rooms.

Kevin Osborne

A great visit. Very interesting. Makes you think of the great sacrifices our armed forces make everyday.

Glen Smith

An amazing day must do the whole thing if you're into history

Fabio Jara

Amazing! I always enjoy learning about our Country's history. Worth the trip but make sure you buy all the tickets at least a couple of weeks in advance. General access is still free so even if you don't get the tickets you can still enjoy the memorial.

Eric Sørensen

Inspirational historical site...sadly in need of much repair. The grounds appear to be minimally under care. The displays outside are weathered and unreadable. The actual Arizona Memorial was under repairs. There's very few park staff available or working. Get tickets the day before or you will miss the movie and boat ride. There's a real need for shuttles between the various sites. Sadly, another example of government mismanagement, misdirected priorities and political infighting. Our nation and the world deserve better.

Lexi Williams

Seeing Pearl Harbor is something I will never forget. Both of my parents have served our country. Being able to bring back memorabilia and pictures for them to see. It was just amazing. It's so informative with the history of this place.

George Rogers

A very inspiring solemn experience for every American to have......All GAVE SOME! SOME GAVE ALL!.... GOD BLESS those who have protected us and those who are protecting us everyday!........absolutely a must see!

Jenny Bouchenot

A beautiful memorial and has a wonderful presentation of the events that transpired here on December 7th. The ONLY reason that I'm not giving a full 5 stars is that there needs to be an age limit for some activities. Before visiting the memorial, the group is led into a theater to learn about the build up of the attack and other details. This is a great idea, except that children under 6 should not participate in this. It is very dark very quickly and the attack scenes are loud. This is necessary to convey the scene of that day. Unfortunately, children can not sit still or be quiet unless they're older because they might not quite understand what's going on, especially crying infants. Maybe an attendant in the room to ensure overall quality guest experience? It is unreasonable to expect someone to leave a presentation to ask for an unruly guest to be removed. Overall, I loved the memorial and I come back every time I'm on the island. It's a national treasure and one you don't want to miss!

Ashley Mc Elhaney

An amazing memorial to visit. Breathtaking tour. Tickets are free on a first come, first served basis and the line starts before it opens, so plan on getting there early

Sandie Spelts

Well they dont let women bring in purses, or very small bags even. Doesn't make since because you can start at gift shop buy something and carry that bag around, no problem. So I put my cell phone, wallet, lipstick in pockets and carried my water bottle. The Arizona is down during refurbishment. Wanted my girls to experience the weird sensation of the Arizona and standing on top of the watery grave. But they did have other things to see, each for it's own price of course.

Alzeda Nickelberry

An amazing experience! It was very touching and heartwarming. I've heard stories of the war growing up by my great great uncle, so I had to witness it for myself! It's a lifetime experience.

Matthew Lomas

Beautifully restored and preserved, a great insight into what was America's greatest naval weapon in the 2nd World War.

Elda Jameson

Should not miss it! If you get there early during peak season you should be able to get it no problem. So much history and well put-together exhibits

Prashanth Naik

Beautiful place and must visit !! Museum is well done and gives us so much insight of the incident... enjoyed it

Ryan Powell

For those who are unaware as of this review (August 13, 2019), the USS Arizona Memorial is inaccessible to tour. I'm told it has been for the last year. It's pretty disappointing that it's been so long. Most people visiting might only get one chance to visit Hawaii at all. One of the several museums is also closed for renovations. While the two above aspects are very disappointing, the rest of the memorial is somber and educational, as it should be. I would absolutely recommend going if you have any interest or respect for world history. Despite the middling score, which is only because one of the most important areas of the memorial (the one that's featured in every shot of it) has been closed for a year plus and continues to be closed

Dianne Bugarin

It was great a reminder of what happened that day especiallly for young children to learn part of our history.

Shawn Montgomery

This is a fantastic park, honoring the fallen on a fateful day. Get there early to get in line for tickets to the attractions! Parking is pretty bad too, it fills up quick so make sure you have alternatives in mind. Otherwise, great site and experience.

Howard Cohen

Plan for a whole day. So much to see and do. Get there early as spots for The Arizona Memorial run out quick on busy days. Be sure to grab some lunch at the Aviation Museum. It was a pleasant surprise.

Debbi Fabiani

Great for WWII military history! Despite the Arizona Memorial being closed for dock repairs (opens fall 2019), the narrated boat ride after the movie goes close enough for pictures. There's a free shuttle to the battleship Missouri & the Pacific Air Museum. Displays, museums & gift shops means a full day!

Danita Day

People were polite and helpful but organization of ticket line and bus lines seemed slower and longer than necessary. Waited in line for tickets to submarine and USS Missouri, but we could have purchased individual tickets at each exhibit (no lines) and eliminated the original combo ticket line. Also no real timeline on when the Arizona memorial will reopen and we saw no work being done while we were there. It's been closed for months. Also be aware no bags or purses are allowed inside park area so bag check line can be long at times. Clear stadium style bags are allowed.

El Mesteño Ranch - Camille Marie

Remembering, honoring, and respecting that some gave their all for me. I am proud to be a citizen of the United States of America. I am thankful for my freedom. There are no other words to describe the significance and meaning of my visit to this historic place except "gratitude." ...Gratitude for a debt that I can never repay. God Bless America. Land of the free. Home of the Brave.

Tara Price

It is a place where you want to be quiet and show reverence. It is good to be at this place to show respect and give thanks for those who lost their lives and futures here. The museum's have pictures and other things on display. You learn the timeline and watch a movie before you go on a ride on a boat to the memorial. When you go on the boat there is no speaking to show respect and reflect. It is a humbling place to be, and a sad story that is part of history now. I think everyone should have this on their itinerary when visiting this Island of Hawaii. I am so glad we were able to go. It was a way for us to remember and thank them I felt by going there.

Johnny Wilson

I am grateful

Klaus Bescherer-Nachtmann

Good place. Very emotional. But you want to be there early to do all or some of the tours. Tours are either minimum 1 or 2 hours and the site closes at 5 pm.

John Smith

My father Steven Michael Smith was Navy and my grandfather John Herbert Smith was Navy they are both gone and this is a great memorial to honor all the Fallen including my dad and Grandpa

Keiko H

Really great tours. Had I known, we would have done them all! There is a boat ride to the Arizona memorial that you get tickets to at the visitor center (just ask). Since you have to board at a specific time, the rest of your day will revolve around that. Also, no purses, bags, backpacks allowed. There is a bag check for $5.

Matt Triola

This is worth a visit. We bought the passport which got you to the Arizona memorial (which is free ordinarily but you are competing with anyone else who shows up), the battleship, the air museum (eat here - good and plentiful), and the submarine. If you are going to read all the displays, it is pretty much an all day visit with the passport.

Jeff Koroluk

Love this place. A little expensive, but well worth it. It is a bit surreal knowing what took place there.

Joni Lorraine

Very informative and a well done way to respect those who lost their lives on that fateful day.

Maranda Martin

I highly recommend going! It is important to remember our history and pay tribute to the fallen soldiers who bravely died to protect our freedom. The staff is friendly, the boat right was awesome, and the monument was amazing!

Jessica Sepulveda

Do not miss this while in Hawaii! The USS Arizona Memorial is still closed to to repair, but the boat still runs you by it. Visit the beautiful harbor tributes just inside by the visitor’s plaza. There’s a snack shop and gift shop there as well. Buy the passes that give you access to all the memorials like the aviation museum, USS Missouri, and submarine, it’s cheaper. Tickets to the USS Arizona are free on the day you arrive if you get there before or around 7 am. Avoid the shopping booths of jewelry just outside the submarine; I felt that it cheapened the experience.

Eric Hoogeveen

Must-see history. If you do not book advance tickets, make sure to go to the visitor ‘s center to get tickets. We went on a day that all advance-sale tickets were gone, and no tickets were designated as walk-up tickets. They still had plenty of tickets. Just get there. The USS Missouri is also a must-see. Enjoy!

Drew Wash

I'm guessing somewhere along the way a choice to go small and simple was made. That decision may be okay if it was kept up. However, we were met with an aged tourist trap. Many signs are unreadable. Lawns overgrown. By far the cleanest areas are the gift shops with over priced items. Really missing something to help visitors see life before, during and after.

Brenna Mckinney

Very memorable experience. This has been my third time and each time, it's very different. I love this memorial.

RVL V.

A must visit when in Oahu. Great service. Is best if u do the visit with small group. USS Arizona is free.

Rachel Houser

Unfortunately, we were not able to visit the Arizona but took a quick boat ride out by it. The museum was great, we did an audio guided tour and it was so informative. We had a very emotional day here but it was worth the lesson in history.

Carol Walzer

So much history enjoyed being able to go and pay our respect to those who gave so much for our freedom

lynn Leach

To tour inside this ship is very eye opening as to what is would be like to be a shipmates. God bless all military that serve. If you are a history buff you will love this. The museum is a must see. The earphones tell you history of everything. Food available.

charles walker

We had the privilege to visit this historical site with our children and it was well worth it. We appreciated the manner in which the staff carried themselves and conducted business. Now if visitors would only allow themselves a few minutes to realize the significance of the site, and carry themselves in a more dignified manner. We look forward to returning on our next trip.

Tyler C

It's Pearl Harbor, how can it get below 5 stars? It's always an honor to visit this place and show your respects. However, my only complaint is that I wish the staff would do better at letting tourists know that It isn't just a historical site, but also a mass grave. Show your respects, no matter where you're from in the world.

Dolores Arbonnier

Pay 5$ for bag. Leave yours inthe car or should have a really tiny one. Nice movie at the bigining

Sarah rader princess

Neat experience. I was sad we couldn't board the USS Arizona as the dock is still being repaired. But great history lesson learned

Dave Bender

This visitor center is amazing as they take you through the events and history of the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. All of the staff we encountered were truly knowledgeable and answered many questions from the visitors to the center. Another "must see" while visiting Oahu.

Susan Long

Words can't express how this visit was, being a Navy brat bought tears to my eyes and truly made me more appreciative to the men and women how they serve our country

John Hartmann

Such a well designed Visitor Center. You learn so much and at the same time are given space for reflection and remembrance. I highly recommend visiting if you are ever on Oahu.

Jamie Browning

Awesome Value, great history to learn about, very well delivered by the National Parks and the Navy. The Navy boys getting us across the water were extremely professional. And the parks staff were very helpful. Shame the Arizona Memorial was closed for renovations.

jim navarrete

This site tells the story of what happened in history really well. It made me feel like I was there during that time. I got a chance to relive it through ready the plates that were displayed.

Honeyele

It was a cool experience, got to know more about what happened in Pearl Harbour on that day. They have a gift shop, so you can get some souvenirs. Also a food place, I didn't stay there for long for me to eat there but I saw one. (To get on the submarine (second picture) you have to pay ticket fees.)

Jeff Brown

Dec 7, 1941 was the day the United States entered World War II, and the day over 3,000 lives were lost in the Japanese attack on Oahu. Pearl Harbor is the generic name that is used to describe the larger attack on Oahu because so many lives were lost on the ships that were in port at Pearl Harbor. From the Visitor center, a Navy boat takes visitors out onto the Harbor to the newly renovated Arizona Memorial located on top of the sunken hull of the USS Arizona where the remains of over 900 sailors are entombed. A retired battleship, the USS Missouri, is anchored nearby, and a WWII era submarine, USS Bowfin, is not far away.

Matthew DeHart

A nice tribute to remember those who gave their lives at Pearl Harbor. The two free museums are nice, but they are not air conditioned and have poor circulation. You cannot bring in any bag larger than a clutch. They have a station to check your bags, but it is $5 per item.

David Tilley

This is a very historic site regardless of it costing money. Everyone would do well with checking it out and learning a little about our history

Courtney Phillips

The shop was larger than I expected and the grounds were just lovely. Very interesting place to see

Vivianna Solis

Amazing! Definitely a place to visit when in Hawaii. The boat ride was full of heartbreak emotions and saddness. Had a great experience for sure.

Chala Bone

Very interesting and inspiring memorial for the infamous day of Pearl Harbor. We only did the parts that were free and that was a few hours of content. Boat ride out to the wreckage was a good experience. Overall, a great memorial. FYI you cannot carry any bags or purses into this free to enter park.

Iraida Cepeda

this is the second time I come here it is very emotional for me but I had to bring my best friend. Truly a beautiful historical spot

dragana polimac

Sadly the USS Arizona was under construction when we went but we still enjoyed the visit. If you have time check out the inside of the submarine (U.S.S. Bowfin). We did the audio tour with a headset, which I recommend.

Mike Archer

Awesome site. Always wanted to visit since I was young. Staff was super helpful and let us know what we could do in the time we had. Museums were great and informative.

Djade Jade

As expected a must go place when in the Pearl Harbour area. Well laid out with plenty of information for visitors to learn from. Large amount of people going through. Limited amount of food available though and nothing much is around the facility if you don't have a vehicle. We found the local boat club about 5 minutes walk away, was the best option plenty of fried food with fast friendly service.

Valerie Knoll

So much history! Loved seeing and learning about it. Very well done memorials.

De Ann Sunderland

Very informative. Unfortunately other tourists are pretty rude. No fault of the staff though. The staff treated my son very well!!

Duane Vaughn

Awesome that the Arizona Memorial opened back up this weekend!!! Excellent place to visit and reflect.

pyro 420

It was neat. Im happy I did it. I wouldn't go again unless I was taking someone for the first time.

Rajo Radulovic

We must never forget people that paid ultimate price for freedom we enjoy today.

Chris Galjour

One of the best WW2 memorials on the planet. The plaques you can read are moving and inspire emotion. When you look up at the mountains across the harbor and realize that those are the same mountains the Japanese flew over it really adds another element to the emotion!

Heidi Mabunga

We did the submarine tour. It was so cool!!! Very much so worth doing. We also did the Pearl harbor movie and the harbor tour. The scenery is beautiful. The feeling is so sacred and hallowed. I absolutely loved this place.

Derek L

Peaceful and surreal. This is a must do when you are visiting Honolulu. Highly recommended.

Captain Jr

The greatest generation. Amazing to see history that changed the world. In awe of their bravery and sacrifice.

Christina Lindsey

At first I felt like the price was kind of steep, but when you look at the fact that you get four museums for that price, it is definitely worth it. It's well kept, the staff is very nice and helpful. Definitely do this if you are in Oahu

shanti peace

We really enjoyed the brief history on what happened that day via movie screen..also the visit over to the USS Arizona ..A reminder of those young brave men who were there for their Country

Jeff Knoop

What an eye opening look at what actually happened

Illia Wen

Really somber yet beautiful spot. I just went onto the harbor to look out and pay respect to those listed on the memorial. I also walked through this little museum that was extremely informative and answered all the questions I had. The whole thing makes sense now! Also these were free! So I felt totally satisfied with this trip!

s cronin

Excellent. Everyone should go there. Most of the millennials there had no idea what happened in pearl harbor or why it happened before viewing the documentary, reading the materials and listening to the staff. I overheard many of them talking about it before we went in and they really had it all wrong. The documentary, staff and materials there really do a great job at explaining what happened and why.

Tami

I love how they present both sides, Japanese and American. It was very well done. The exhibit should be a must for every American citizen. It's emotionally overwhelming but it shouldn't be forgotten.

David Nytko

A must visit in Hawaii if you go to Oahu. The Arizona Memorial is not available due to repair work, but they still take you out to it by boat. Walking inside and out of the Missouri was near. The sacrifice on this site is emotional and very significant. We had the honor of having our boat ride narrated live by an old man who lived in a village near by and at 11 years old sat on train tracks, watching the attack take place. Eventually his parents found him and they hid in mountain caves. Amazing experience I was humbled by and honored to be part of.

Donya Kohl

This place is a must see if you go to Hawaii. The U.S.S. Arizona was closed for construction, but it was still beautiful. There was also a rooster wandering around the parking lot. He was good enterainment while we waited for our shuttle bus!

Sandy Flenner

It was an enlightening adventure in to the past and gave insight about today. It was a bit emotional. There is a considerable amount of walking and climbing if the whole trip includes touring of the ships. Loved every moment.

Paul Whitfield

Historical site. The movie gave some back ground to why the attack on Pearl Harbour happened. Guides/Park Rangers are plentiful if you have questions. The US Navy took us out to the Arizona Memorial. I did the free tour but you do need to get a ticket so they don't over book a session.

Barry Campbell

A very interesting and informative visit. They need to update/removate some of the memorial plaques inthe outer grounds but otherwise it was very good. Glad we went.

Julie Perry

The staff assisted with providing information and suggestions for our visit. They noted it is best to come here prior to 10am as some tickets are sold out by then. We also enjoyed visiting the Bowfin Submarine on a self guided tour with headphones. And found lots of great gifts in their giftshops!

Pam Peacock

Cost us a future too go there and find that the Arizona was getting repaired which I believe has been going on for a year or more, the black and white boards outside were not readable, tatty in other words, the film earlier had ripped paper, noticed as soon as you walk in, the rubbish lying around, was disappointing. The advisor we had too board us was great, as for the naval personnel I felt they needed to learn how too park a boat instead forward backwards forward we all thought it was a joke, even an American citizen wasn't impressed. This is a major tourist attraction and needs to be cleaned up considerably. As for the information it was great

Johanna O.

Beautiful views, great environment and nice costumer service! Will always love this place

Grace Perez

Simply unforgettable place to visit! A one in lifetime must do event. Very educational, emotional and inspiring. Please go visit if you can.

Marshall Lawrence

A place to ponder about those while given the ultimate sacrifice and how brutal it was for them. Pay respects in best way can. Tragedies of war. The area is very nice, they have a few great rooms with great educational literature, models, photos, and videos. There are many other things there such as nuclear missiles, torpedoes (a kamikaze one too), small inside peace to a submarine, and the excellent U-Boat sub. Pretty cool stuff! Going over to the Arizona memorial is a must. A solemn place.

Mousumi P

It's a commercial place for shopping and a historical place too . If you do not have enough the time to cover the whole island and struggling to cover the best spots, you can skip this one . This place has history though .

David Lunasco

A very sobering experience. While the dock to the Arizona Memorial was closed for repairs, we did get a narrated tour of Battleship Row following a movie in an air conditioned theater. The boat was covered which was nice and combine the cover with a moving boat, made of a cool ride around the harbor and both the right and left side of the boat was treated to a good view of the memorial despite not being able to actually get on the memorial. Very good experience and definitely something to experience if you are in the area.

Maurice

The site itself was awesome, the history lesson was great but, after purchasing and item you usually receive a bag to carry it in, the store actually tried to get you to purchase a bag after you bought something, really.......not a good way to get customers to return

Ivo Garkov

What i can say! History! Must go there and experience it first hand! Shuttle buses every 15 min. Very well organized place and friendly people.

Mike Tracy

What can I say other than thank you for your sacrifice. It was great being able to see and pay respect.

Bill Holmes

Great memorial. However not sure why grass clippings we're all over the place on the concrete? Also major dust and spider webs in theater. I would expect better housekeeping and landscaping for such an important place.

Jeff Pascoe

Run down attraction, only one set of restrooms open for the entire visitor center. We understood USS Arizona Memorial was closed but Ferry did not even get close to the Memorial as advertised. Museums are expensive for what you see. Very disappointing considering what it should be honoring.

Darian Wickstead

A must do if you’re visiting Oahu. The history here is quite amazing to learn about, the memorial is something everyone should witness. Seeing the USS Arizona in person was impactful. The oil still leaks from the boat, and you are able to see the parts of the ship.

Lara Saliba

This was a very meaningful experience. I would highly recommend visiting and giving yourself time to walk through and read as much of the exhibit as you can - the history was told very sensitively and poignantly, all of us were very moved and emotional by the end of it. It felt important to learn more in-depth about the history of what happened here, and it was heartbreaking on both sides. This exhibit inspired a deep sense of empathy, which is so important and impactful for everyone. They did a great job at conveying the stories of regular people's lives and experiences, and their voices.

Kimberly Steudle

Amazing experience. Bring tissues and be prepared to walk threw some of Americas greatest history.

Jon Pettigrew

The Visitor Center is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. They do a great job of painting a vivid picture of what happened on and around December 7, 1941! I highly recommend the USS Arizona Memorial with the narrated headset tour, which includes a film and a boat trip out by the Memorial. They are repairing the Memorial; so, you won't be able to go on it until sometime in the Fall of 2019. The headset tour covers some 29 different locations, including stops in the Road to War Museum and the Attack Museum, each of which look small from the outside but are packed full of artifacts, history, and first person accounts. Expect to be moved by the experience, whether you or a family member served or not. You can also choose to enhance your experience with tickets to the USS Bowfin and the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum. If you were to take the time to experience all there is here, you could easily spend the whole day here. Two cautions about the Visitor Center and the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument: 1. There are no bags allowed, not even purses. They do have lockers available (it's not a good idea to leave belongings in the car); 2. Food options are EXTREMELY limited. I cannot emphasize enough how limited the food options are! I recommend eating a hearty meal in advance of arriving. Given that bags are not allowed, they really would do well to improve the food options, especially since one can spend the better part of a day here. For the lack of food options, I can only give it four stars.

Claire F.

We visited this place using our Go Oahu pass purchased from Costco. Great place to learn about the history of Pearl Harbor. Great exhibitions throughout the center and seeing how people lived during war time dinifitely made us emotional. Parking is free and there is a bag policy: Bag storage is available at the entrance of the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center for a fee of $5.00 per bag. Visitors should bring in their wallets, cameras (no large camera bags are allowed), cellular phones, and water bottles.

Need to see. Great learning experience. Dont miss it if you care about history at all. I'd love to go again. Had a lot of questions answered by this visit.

Deneen Ritter

I have never been so moved as to when I went there. They're still oil leaking from the ship that sank. Very somber experience

F

It was an emotional experience. So many men sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Charles Sekafetz

It has been 24 years since I was last here and a lot has changed. I wanted to see the USS Arizona memorial again, but was focused on the whole site as many other lives were lost here and not just those from the USS Arizona. It is an important piece of our history and I wish others could experience this location once in their life. Luckily, I was also able to see the USS Missouri, the ship my brother served on, decommissioned, and brought here. One of the more important features is the multitude of information placards about the troops and vessels. I really enjoyed reading about the submarines and their adventures.

Dallan Moody

Very sober and calm. The provided movie is also pretty good. It was nice getting a more detailed story of what events took place here. It was very unnerving seeing the Arizona underwater, knowing that many people were still inside. I very much recommend this place

Kelli O'Berry

Very humbling experience to see the site of this national tragedy. Extremely cool to get to meet some WWII Vets that are around the memorial. The museum is really interesting with in depth details of the attack and Military knowledge. The USS Arizona Memorial was a moving experience in itself. There is still oil leaking from the ship to this day with hundreds of souls still on board. This place is a must see for anyone visiting or living in Oahu.

Jacqueline Selfridge

Definitely worth the trip while in Oahu. Come early in the morning as it gets crowded quickly. We went on a Wednesday and it was packed by 10:30am. Unfortunately the USS Arizona was closed so we couldn't take the boat to it but it was still worth seeing everything else.

The Speed of Tim

Great place to learn about our history and events that happened here. There is an air of understanding and knowledge seeking in the park. Yes, this is a cost to so of the tours, but it is well worth it. I would happily purchase them again in the future. That you for preserving this important location.

James Norton

I kept thinking. Man they worked hard to get all this brass shiny. Cool sub to visit.

Lisa Chan

I visited the USS Missouri when I was here and it was an enjoyable experience. I'm not particularly crazy about military museums or artillery or ships to be honest, but it was a opening to walk around the warship. It's like a little city on its own inside - besides living quarters and the canteen, there was also a dentist, legal department, IT room, ironworks shop etc. the volunteer who explained the history behind the ship and the surrender deck was also very passionate and well-informed

Carrie Estrada

I have been here many times and loved brining my kids here for the first time. It was my sons favorite part of our trip to Hawaii. There is so much history to see and learn about first hand. Everyone should visit when on Oahu! Note: you can't take bags of any kind into the park. Not a purse, backpack, diaper bag, etc. They do have lockers that are $5 per bag, which is pretty expensive. If You dont want to,pay the fee leave your bags in your car.

Kylthia Roberts

Went there with friends on a tour. An amazing site, although the main monument to the Arizona is closed for renovations. Nevertheless, a treasure trove of information is available. The gift shop is wonderful too.

Vicki Lutz

Beautiful presentation...so glad to be able to see all the historical sites here in Pearl Harbor...and it's city.

Cisco Alvarez

What a wonder to see and learn, high suggest the audio options to hear the story. Plan on spending 3-4 hours here to really enjoy the whole visit.

Venus

I highly recommend getting the Passport to Pearl Harbor. You can buy online or when you arrive. It gives you Access to all the Memorial sites except USS Arizona. Arrive early (7am) to get free tickets for the Arizona. Approx 1k tickets given each morning. Plan to spend at least 5 hours, for an experience ... you'll remember a lifetime.

Paige Vickers

Great and interesting museum. Only giving 3 stars due to the price. They have it set up to where you pay for each attraction (4 total) or can get a 'passport' for all of them, which is $72 per adult. In terms of museums that is pretty steep, I've probably been to over 50 museums in my life and this was by far the most expensive. Also you can't take bags in, so you either leave your belongings in the car, or pay even more money to store them in their lockers. There is also very few food and water/drink places. I believe only two spots. One stop outside the Missouri where there was some ice cream, snacks and water for $3 a bottle (they do have a free refill station on board the Missouri though). And the second we saw was a small restaurant with burgers and such at the end of the aviation musuem (the last stop on the bus/ route). It seemed to have good food, but didn't buy or eat anything. Would be worth it if wasn't so expensive. Total for two people was about 175 for the attractions and some snacks and water. I've never spent so much on a museum, that's the price of a theme park...

Alex Fieser

Beautiful grounds, wonderful displays. The memorials will bring tears to your eyes, and the museum's are interactive and educational. If you're a local, they're always looking for volunteers (come visit on the weekdays). If you visit on a Sunday, stop by the Aloha Stadium swap meet in the morning!

Laura Sawyer

I was amazed on this trip. Would love to go back one day! A must stop when visiting Hawaii!

Jaidyn Fisher

If you're wanting to see the actual pearl harbor, do not buy the "passport" that includes four different attractions. Those four different attractions DO NOT include pearl harbor. The USS Missouri is pretty cool but the rest are rip offs so dont get the package. Pearl Harbor tickets are given away for free at the beginning of the day and they run out very fast. First come first serve. We came a little before 9 am and they were already almost out of the 11:15 tour tickets (last tour is at 3).

While only spending 10 hours in Hawaii I made darn sure to visit Pearl Harbor. Such history and remembrance. Well looked after area and plenty to see and do. Not too crowded when we were there.

Dani C

Great experience. Everyone should take time to remember and honor those who lost their lives while serving. It’s an amazing story of how the US came together over such a great tragedy. Disappointed that the Arizona Memorial is closed until this fall (2019). You can still see the film and take a short ride in the harbor, but not the same as stepping foot onto the memorial. Get there early - before 0700. Arizona tickets are free. Other areas of the museum cost various amounts, depends on what you want to see.

tasoftail

Excellent! Memorable and a must see! Even with the memorial being closed, we were able to get a ferry/boat ride out to the Arizona! Thanks Navy!! TnT and family from Maryland

Sean Smith

The history here is amazing. I would recommend the headset--even if you think it's cliche. The Arizona memorial was under construction when we went but the boat tour was still incredible.

Carolina Poblano

This is a lovely place, unfortunately the Arizona Memorial is still not open. Each exhibit must be paid separately, so take enough cash. If you do all of the exhibits you will spend a good 4 hours there. I was lucky enough to meet 2 of the survivors the day that I went, they are usually there on Sundays.

Valinoe

We toured the battleship Missouri. Absolutely worth it. So many rooms, halls, decks, and other displays to look at, prowl through...truly enjoyed the museum and made some lasting memories. The ship itself is fascinating, and a good percentage of it is available for viewing, inside and out. Definitely recommend. Hold on to your hats and dresses, it's quite windy.

Black Heart

I love history, especially American history. With the part of some of Germany and Japan history I love it. The staff is nice and very helpful

Marcello Bossola

The place itself is quite average, however it is an amazing place to visit and remember the fallen soldiers and civilian.. it is a must do

Marc Szantyr

Very somber. An absolute must for every American. You will get accurate accounts of that infamous day in history from both the naval aspect as well as other installations that were attacked by the Japanese. Be prepared for long lines and many tourist trying to take those perfect photos.

Shreeraj Shah

Documentary on our way to Arizona memorial was really nice. Even our tour operator on boat was very informative. Only Con was when we went to take tickets for Arizona memorial, the front desk guy gave us tickets for 10am. We asked him if we can get an earlier one as we had flight to catch in 3 hrs. He was like there is no availability in next one. After 5 minutes, in front of us, they sold an earlier show tickets.

Rhonda Lewis

The memorial is very informative and humbling. The grounds really should be better taken care of and many of the signs and monuments were faded and hard to read. The only good is a snack store or a hot dog vendor beside the drink machines.

Judy Castro

Being a national park it was very expensive. Almost $75 per person to see everything if you wanted to go that route. Don't our tax dollars already support national parks? Such great historical places should be readily accessed by all.

Kenneth Holley

Well designed location to honor our military and the infamous events during World War II. Well maintained with great security. Entrance is free. Special activities like going aboard the submarine cost extra. There are souvenir stores. Prices are a little high but not unreasonable. A must see location on Hawaii.

Butch Fulton Country 911

Secure you valuables at baggage claim, peal off the bar on the windshield of your rent car.. thugs run thru and smash and steal anything out of your car, video cameras are there but Justice system doesn't prosecute.. so your stuff is gone. The memorial is great.

Joshua Harris

Go early if you want to find parking and you can't take bags in! It's a great place to learn history though and plenty of your guides and employees to help. The Missouri tour is a must! And the aviation museum is also special.

Burt Melzer

We had a fantastic time here. We weren't able to get on the Arizona memorial as it's still closed, so if you're looking for just that make sure you check if they have fixed it. You are still able to drive by it. The Missouri was amazing as well the tour guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend doing one of the extra tours which do cost a little extra but are well worth it.

Camille Cloud

The food was over price and subpar in quality. The service was terrible our waiter was the rudest person I have met in a long time.
