Nice free museum. Very small and not much to do. Only good for a small side trip. Does teach a bit about Maui history which is super cool. The place was very well kept up and gives a nice educational experience for the whole family. Wouldn't expect it to take any longer than 10 minutes to survey through.

It's a quick stop off the beaten path a little. Was fortunate enough to arrive there at the same time as a Segway tour, so I scabbed some of the narration on the place. Enjoy a little more history on your trek as you take in the pleasant weather, the butterflies, and the mango tree's shade (sort of).

Seems like a work in progress, but very interesting. The plant life within the walls is labeled so you know what it all is.

Free and super cool. My girlfriend and I explored while walking around Lahaina. We found the displays and history very interesting. Especially that people would be jailed for the sale of awa without a permit. The bench under the big tree was also a nice place to just sit and enjoy the weather.

Although not as popular or escape proof as Alcatraz, this little prison is a joy to look around. If I were down to my last dime, convicted of a crime, this is where I would do my time. Do you like my rhyme ?? More poetry, I think that's a Haiku ??

We stopped here on a rainy day in search of a geocache. After finding it we stayed for awhile to check things out. Although no staff was on site we enjoyed learning the history of the place and walking the grounds. All the plants have labels too (which is fun for me-a plant lover).

Delightful Had an aloha experience with the coworkers. Was toured through the grounds. Think I enjoyed talking of the beautiful plants more. Heliconia, and ginger were my favorite. Even took a minute to enjoy a fresh mango from the tree. Aloha

Free admission to this historic prison from 1850. Maybe not the worst jail if sunbathing on the grass was allowed ;-)

Nice museum to walk around, especially the outdoor spaces. Interesting and beautiful trees and a whaling boat. The indoor part of the museum is very small with only minimal signage. Free to enter but donations are accepted.
