Well worth the time spent visiting.
so much knowledge to share
Nice collection
The Webb Military is a little known treasure in Savannah. My parents came to visit and since my father is a history buff I decided to take him here. It was fantastic. We went in the afternoon and the owner, Gary, was there. Everything in the museum is his collection, and it's all very personal to him. If you visit, make sure you read the cards he has printed by his collection. The stories there make the pieces much more real. It's a small museum but we all thought it was great. You could easily spend an enjoyable hour here even though it is a smaller museum.
Absolutely amazing! So much history in such a small place, and Full of stories
Very nice museum owned by a very nice man!
Loved it, very informative
Incredible. The best military museum I have visited. Gary Webb brings out the personal stories of military men and women. Some very unique pieces including a dog tag making kit, a caterpillar pin, a MIG cockpit, and stories of notable military people and many ordinary Heroes. Thanks for the personally guided tour Gary!
A must see if you are visiting Savannah! Honestly, it's been more enjoyable than the ghost tour or anything else we did in our trip. The owner is super hospitable. He even explained several of the items in the museum and so graciously shared the stories behind them. It was well worth the admission in to the museum. If you get a chance, you really should stop by.
The owner gave us the tour. Outstanding!
A very extensive private collection. Learned a lot. Museum curator/attendant was very informative and so nice to talk to. A real treasure to have someone that enjoyed history as much as us.
Deserves 6 stars. Very friendly owner. Not your normal museum. Tons of amazing artifacts!!!
We came on last minute after seeing it off the side of the road. I didn’t know it was about to close but the front lady let us run through real quick. Nice collect and lovely staff !
One of the finest collection and very personalized. And Gary the owner is great.
Astounding collection and spectacular hosting from the museum owner Mr. Gary Webb. The tour is only ten dollars for adults and anyone interested in history could easily spend hours learning the stories behind all of the many incredible items. DO NOT miss it!!!
A wonderful collection of personal artefacts spanning civil war era to modern day. The staff was enthusiastic and the collection had a very personal feel to it.
This is a must see in Savannah. Mr. Webb's privately owned collection is absolutely amazing!
Mr. Webb was so informative. A lot of history wrapped in a small package....
Loved this military museum! the owner and curator Gary is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic! ask him the story of how he got the Mig ! will definitely be back if I ever get back to Savanna Free entry for Active Duty and discount for Vets.
Excellent museum, I actually saw my first Blue Max! Fantastic private collection from all era's
Webb military museum has quite a dense and varied collection of arms, uniforms, letters, and other war-related memorabilia. It's a personal collection, which is absolutely amazing. It's worth a visit if you enjoy war history or happen to be taking the historic district tour. The collection, especially as a private collection, earns generated some awe. The "hole in the wall" and grunge feel to the facility rates three stars for presentation. Overall, worth a visit.
Just go! You can get in and out in an hour. The owner is right there to navigate this awesome collection. Family friendly
Really great place.
Had a great time, Gary had a lot of knowledge. Everything had a personal story, or belong to someone with their story behind it. I highly recommend it.
As soon as we entered we welcomed with personal stories and smiles. I recommend this to any history buff as myself if you want to see something out of the ordinary yet extraordinary. Such a great experience!
Loved it. Huge collection of interesting Military pieces. Most of it was property of a serviceman at some point so there are usually cool stories accompanying the items. Definitely reccommend it.
Parked near there when visiting my brother who works nearby.
Great place and it all belongs to OWNER! Very nice staff and owner is wonderful to talk with
Impressive collection of wartime memorabilia. Uniforms, documents, items.
Very unique and authentic! Showcases a wide variety of artifacts spanning from the Civil War to Korean War. Is great for either a quick visit or a whole afternoon! The individualized information about each piece gives the museum a personal feel.
This isn’t a collection of military items, it’s a collection of relics. Each piece has a notable story. We arrived at closing and the owner gave us a private tour. It was a highlight for my 10 year old son.
Mr. Webb was the most professional, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, flexible, generous, admirable war history buff I've ever encountered. His personal collection of items from all the major wars and each battle-front was dazzling. I've never experienced a museum like this - the volumes of personalized items, experiences and personal accounts captured within the display cabinets. It shed new light on the lives of the brave soldiers and families who sacrificed all in service to their country. Mr. Webbs faithful effort in maintaining this impressive collection does justice in honoring those brave men and women. I rate this Museum A MUST SEE
Absolutely awesome. Mr. Webb has an unbelievable collection of military memorabilia from the civil war to the present. A must see if you have any interest in the personal history of people who were in the military.
This is a hidden gem that should not be. The Webb Military Museum is FANTASTIC!! It is well laid out with an impressive amount of memorabilia and is an obvious labor of love for Gary Webb. OUTSTANDING museum and a must see in Savannah.
Great museum for war buffs. Run by a lifelong collector, Gary is the knowledgeable, passionate curator of an amazing assortment of war memorabilia. He has a story for every piece.
Friendly host eager to share his treasures. Cost is $10 per person in March of 2018. Artifacts are very interesting with short descriptions and pictures to match. Several nostalgic uniforms from World War II, Korean War, Vietnam, and Desert Storm on display.
The Webb Military Museum was the highlight of my trip to Savannah. The collections are incredible, and some pieces are just downright rare. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner Gary, who positively created an interactive experience. A must see if in the Savannah area.
Great little museum. Very personal and relatable look at war. Like you snuck in the attic and found generations of war memorabilia then everyone started reminiscing.
Wish we had more time to spend here! Was an awesome little museum!
A wonderful museum. Highly recommend.
Very interesting find.
Amazing experience! Mr. Webb was very nice and knows a lot about history
Very interesting. Gary is very passionate about the collection he displays and is super knowledgeable. The collection is superb and there is one of a kind items.
Super friendly guy who made his own muesum of war history from a private collection. It is awesome!
Go check out Gary Webb’s personal collection of military history! Nice fellow and very knowledgeable on military history and relics.
Awesome personal collection of various war artifacts from the US's conflicts. We were lucky enough to hear Mr Webb tell a few stories about the items in the museum which really added to the experience. Thanks to Mr Webb for making this fantastic collection available too the public.
Amazing experience! Mr. Gary educated us on so many levels. Highly recommend especially if you have a love for military history.
Highly recommend this museum! Very informative!
So much history!
Wow I can't believe how many times my wife and I have driven or ridden our bikes around this place and never came in. This museum is incredible. Apparently this was/is the private collection of a Gary Webb, and he decided to display it to the public. It is amazing what a collection of memorabilia he is sharing with us! If you are coming to Savannah or if you live here, come see this place, it is a MUST see whether you are a war or military buff or not. Judy was our hostess, what a great lady, very knowledgeable and loves what she does, the museum is lucky to have her.
Mr. Webb has a fantastic collection of various wartime military pieces, each with its own interesting story. Very glad to have visited with him and plan to return soon
Awesome collection. Owner really put forth the effort to make this a great experience.
Great personal collection by Mr. Webb
From a former military point of view I found it very interesting to see the different displays that are there. To understand that the people that the display represents our past and dead Warriors. A good place to reminisce over our military history.
A must see if you are a history nut.. A great time and make sure you give yourself enough time to read the articles to truly appreciate our history.
Awesome personal collection of the museum's owner, spans 8 American conflicts through the 2nd Gulf War, could have spent the whole day in there!
This is a privately owned museum. It is an "Outstanding," place to visit. The owner is really a neat person to talk with. He greets you at the door, tells you all about the museum, and the history of the museum. Any questions you may have, he is willing to answer and talk with you about. Words can't describe this awesome place!
You can't go won't with this museum if you are into military history, this guy has a substantial collection. He is super nice and informative at the same time, me and my wife both loved it. $10 per adult*
It was truly humbling to experience this much history in such a relaxed, personal setting. The fact that Mr. Webb has amassed this collection on his own and has all the knowledge to go along with it is simply astounding. What a wonderful way to spend precious vacation time. I would absolutely visit here again, and I recommend visiting to anyone that has even a vague interest in history.
A small Museum but Tastefully done brought to light much of the Southern aspect of the Civil War
I've never seen the whole story in one place Germans
Very informative and interesting historical displays. Definitely worth stopping in for a tour.
Very thorough and very personal. A must see!
Awesome place, enjoyed every second of it
My husband is really into history, especially American military history. This was his favorite place we visited on our honeymoon. Everything is well organized and it's really interesting. Definitely recommend going at least once!
My daughter and I really enjoyed our visit here to mark the 74th anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy on "D-day." The museum is well organized with great exhibits and first hand interaction with the owners. A great way to spend a few hours while enjoying downtown Savannah
Not to many places are perfect in my opinion, but the place is beyond perfect. Loved loved loved going thru the museum. If you go, get Mr Webb to tell you the story about the airplane. It's a must hear story
A very interesting collection of military artifacts and memorabilia from the Civil War to Iraq including uniforms, official documents, weapons, flags and insignias.
this is the best place ever if you really want to learn about the sacrifice of the ones in uniforms this is the best place I bought this Vietnam knife from them and it's amazing
A private collection of Military Uniforms, artifacts, and personal history by the museum owner, since the age of eleven. Original collection started with his mother who lived through London bombings of WWII. Collection covers early United States wars to Vietnam and room to grow.
This is a very impressive collection! I have no idea how he was able to get some of the items here, but if you are a history buff it is definitely worth your money to walk through. This collection includes personal items of Adolf Hitler and Sadam Hussein.
This museum is fantastic, particularly due to the owner Gary’s personal touch. He has a wealth of knowledge from his own personal experience and connections that really breaths life into the history and war stories of the past. Take your time here - we found ourselves spending a couple of hours at the museum.
Great place
Gary the owner is very knowledgeable and accommodating. Exhibits are very close. Photos are encouraged
Webb military museum is really a fantastic place to visit! This museum is one of a kind due to the owner's ability to tell you the story behind each piece. His unique family history along with his passion for history and story telling make this a must stop for anyone of any age!
Such a nice owner, the stuff that was in the museum was incredible. I really enjoyed going and seeing all the war suits as well as the tiny items you normally wouldn't see in a large museum. 11/10 reccommed as a must see in savannah :)
I really enjoyed the history there.
Interesting collection
This life long collection of artifacts by Mr. Webb is presented in a very stunning and well displayed venue. Actually being able to touch artifacts and read actual period publications help to bring the stories presented to life. A must see for young and old alike. Group discounts available upon request.
Very interesting museum of historical uniforms and militaries. I really enjoyed it
Amazing things to learn. The first time I went taught me a lot about World war II. The man who owned the place was very kind. Best museum I have ever visited
Very pleasant stop with interesting history good for 30 min or 2 hours as you like. Lots of uniforms, photos, letters.
For $10 this place is an awesome bargain for anyone interested in history!
The woman working was very nice. We visited on the 15th of September. It is small but it is packed. The kids did a scavenger hunt and all the kids got badges after. They even sell authentic uniforms and helmets and othet things. My son bought a helmet for 20 dollars and has been searching for info about the soldier who owned it. Neat place. Clean bathrooms as well. 1.00 bottled water for sale also.
It was very cool
Great collection any rare pieces
Wow wow wow! Talking about history! This place has it. Obscure stuff. The last will and testament display was just fantastic. Must see to believe.
A lot of WWII in a good collection.
I loved this museum! Lots of interesting military memorabilia and great stories of how they were acquired for this privately owned museum.
It was great and worth it
If your a history buff you should go they have a Mig cockpit for crying out loud!!
This museum was AMAZING! When I walked in they said, we don't teach history through names and dates, we teach through the people, and that was so true. The collection was amazing and I met Mr. Webb himself. He was so knowledgeable about every single piece and made himself available for questions. The gift shop had some really cool stuff as well!
Lots if great military memorabilia
Mr. Webb was a delight to speak to. He is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about military history.
As a member of the military I thoroughly enjoyed it. His collection is amazing!! The information he has for each item is Awesome. Definitely a must see if you're in Savannah Georgia.
This place was the highlight of our trip to Savannah. The curator of the museum, Gary Webb, is one of the most knowledgeable people we have ever met. He was an absolute pleasure to talk to and learn from as he has a steel trap for mind when it comes to all of his artifacts. The muesum is made of Gary's personal collection which he delightedly told us was only partially represented. All of the pieces were deeply researched and Gary had binders on binders of information. Listening to the stories associated with the pieces and how they were found was both fascinating and enthralling. If Gary ever expands or redoes the muesum we will make the trip to Savannah again to visit this amazing place. Thank you Gary!!
Mr. Webb is very interesting and has a personal story for almost everything in his museum. This is a must go to when visiting Savannah. He is on route with all the "on off " trolly tours. Highly Recommend!!!!
This is an awesome museum! The owner of the collection Gary has a contagious passion for these items and their stories. I highly recommend seeing this museum.
This is an awesome collection of stuff from all eras of military conflict.
MUST SEE IF IN SAVANNAH!!! There are no words to explain the experience that we had visiting Webb Military Museum! My Girl Scout troop was visiting Savannah & learned about the museum on our trolley tour, my girls said we have to go there! Mr. Webb has the most beautiful pieces of history and can tell you a story about every one. His love for his parents and family that have served and passion for sharing the history of these rare items is so amazing. My daughter who loves history said this visit was the best part of her Savannah trip!
Just fantastic. Had to drag my mother in and she ended up liking it better than a lot of other museums in Savannah. Incredible collection. As much or more about the people of the wars instead of their relics.
We stopped in near closing time. Mr. Webb said we could stay as long as we liked. Plus he gave us lots of his time relating the provenance of the hundreds of items on display. If you are interested at all in military uniforms of the past...visit this place.
Didnt think we would like this place but it was pleasant surprise , we were so happy to see this collection of awesome history
Owner runs it and Family Military Background. Mr Webb is Verry Knowledgeable. Great Museum. Must Seee!
Awesome collection of military memorabilia from a former military brat as well! Was awesome to meet another Webb that was a military brat. The collection spans quite a few war periods, I liked that their wasn't a narrative.
Probably the best personal military collection you'll ever see. Mr. Webb is very enthusiastic and eager to tell every artifact's story.
The Webb Military Museum is a private collection that is shared with the public. Although it may appear like a small museum don't let that fool you. It took 40+ minutes to walk through. It is full of military history from the civil war through current. The museum founder even went back to find the history of the pieces he collected. Amazing and highly recommended.
Enjoyed this small private collection
Could not believe this was a private collection of the owners family. Amazing and truly a must see in Savannah. A great place to truly understand where and what a lot of families even ours had to come through so we could be here.
Incredible place. The owner is super is super friendly and super knowledgeable. It’s all from his personal collection!
An interesting personal collection of military memorabilia spanning from the Civil War to Desert Storm.
Wow! What a great place to see and experience history first hand. The uniforms with the history of the person who wore them bring the person to life. If you love military history then this is a must do!
This is one of the best museums I've been to. The owner has put up his own personal collection of artifacts that he's collected over a 50 year span. The stories that accompany the items are extremely interesting. I'm so glad I went to check it out. This is a must see in Savannah, for locals and tourists!
Excellent small museum. As other reviews state, it's owned by one collector who has accumulated these items in various ways during his life. It may be a small museum overall, but the quality and stories behind each item is what is amazing. Despite the museum's size, it's easy to spend at least 30 minutes to an hour looking at everything. Highly recommend this museum if you are at all into military history. The owner is very friendly, and is more than willing to show his enthusiasm for everything in the museum especially if it isn't busy.
Very unique museum. Mr. Webb the owner is very nice and proud of his collection. I would recommend taking some time and visiting this museum.
One of the best private museums I've ever seen. Gary is awesome.
Definitely my favorite museum in Savannah! Gary, the owner, was incredibly nice to me and since I was the only one there at the time, he actually gave me a private tour of the museum. It is truly amazing the things he has considering he is a private collector. He made me feel very welcomed and does an amazing job preserving these old uniforms.
Very cool place to visit! Great assortment of history.
My husband loved it. Definitely worth and hour or so.
If you like militaria related museums this is a must see while in Savannah. I highly recommend it!
Great museum very interesting helpful very nice staff. Mr.Webb was very interactive and offered personal insite and stories regarding is collection. To sum it up great and awesome pieces of history
Very cool Personal collection of Military history, well worth a visit.
Very interesting and the owner is more than willing to let you know what is in the museum and answer all your questions.
Excellent history museum. It's a hands on museum.
Gary Webb is an incredibly engaging and hospitable individual! This makes for an extraordinary visit at the Webb Military Museum! His collection and customer service are remarkable!
Very worth the time and $$$.
Great find. Some memorabilia is hands-on. Guy who runs it is down to earth, and gives provenance for many items. A great history lesson.
Definitely worth a look if you like military history and have some time.
Great place to go. A lot of items on display.
Wow! Great collection of military items. Honestly a must see in Savannah. It's smaller but packed with incredible things.
This museum was the highlight of our trip.
Awesome experience. So many personal artifacts, with easy to read and understand captions. Well worth the visit.
Loved the history!
This museum is fantastic! It was one of the top things we did while in Savannah. It is a smaller museum but packed with fascinating artifacts and stories.
The owner is a really nice guy with a lot of interesting stories.
really interesting place to bring the kid's when in downtown Savannah for a day. It's a small place but the owner has a lot of character and has a story for each piece in his collection. Kids has a scavenger hunt they can play while they learn about history and have fun too. The museum covers American conflicts only but it is has plenty to look at all the same. Parking may be hard to find but it never hurts to take the kids for a walk on a nice afternoon.
Awesome privately owned Museum. Owner gave us a tour a must-see! Even let us try on Museum's hats
Very historic.
We actually got to meet Mr. Webb. He told us the stories that went along with the artifacts. Very interesting. Such great people, very friendly.
Must see in Savannah. The pictures are so great but the history, stories, and family connection with them are what makes this museum so important.
Beautiful peices of history verry interactive worth the money. And if youre military its free
The Webb Military Museum is a wonderful little museum. The owner, Gary Webb is a very friendly guy and he is clearly passionate about military history. The museum may seem small but when you really get to looking at the exhibits, you learn that it isn’t about the amount of stuff in the museum, but about the stories of the people therein. Also if you are honeymooning in Savannah and you like military history, definitely go there. Gary will toast your marriage by sabering a bottle of champagne for you with one of his Indian War sabers! Lots of fun and I highly recommend!!
Amazing collection! Was able to meet the owner! What an amazing, knowledgeable, and kind man!!
really cool military collection from nearly all of American history. Mr Webb is an amazing collector with info on everything he's got. place even had a scavenger hunt for kids and get a patch at the end.
A nice little museum. With a limited collection focusing on American uniforms with some German and soviet-era pieces.
GREAT HISTORT PLACE
I give this place five stars. It isn't very big but you can easily spend an hour or more here. The owner, Gary, is very nice and has a wealth of information on each piece. The collection is quite amazing and you will learn a lot about the history of these wars and those who fought in them. I highly recommend this museum and we will be back.
Good if you want to see someone's collection. You won't learn history in Savannah and no guide if more than one group or person viewing at one time. Personal owner. We came while one group was there ahead and paid $10 each for a rushed one minute speech and no guide after that.
