We've got the reviews of real people who purchase the services of Tybee Island Marine Science Center (Museum) in Georgia area.
At the moment the firm gets a rating of 4.5 over 5 and the score is based on 546 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is almost the highest, and it is based on a high number of feddbacks, so we can say that the rating is very accurate. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the business, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to place feddbacks when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Museum is classified in the category of Science museum.
Fun and exciting. My 4 year old loved the touch tank and didn't won't to leave.
The learning experience was amazing and we found sea animals on the guide
The best place for inquisitive kids! Small but super friendly and educational and their Marsh Walk and Turtle Talk were fantastic for people of all ages! My son was allowed to feed the fish with the assistance of the staff so we were really lucky. PLUS the Center does so much to protect the oceans and beaches for all the creatures that live there! LOVE IT! We will be back!
Very cool place!
The staff was great too!
Very cute place. You enter through the gift shop and are immediately greeted by a very sweet girl at the front counter. There you purchase tickets and go into the back. It's a very small, local aquarium but it's fun. There is a 'touch' station and all staff is very knowledgeable . All creatures are from the local area and are well-cared for. We really loved the info on sea turtles!
Very small place. We had 11 girls and adults in there luckily we were the only ones there so not an issue. Nice learning experience for all of us. We took a beach walk and it was wonderful other than having issues hearing. You can't turn off the ocean waves so not sure how she could have made that better. She found animals for us, we found some, and she was so knowledgeable. Great little adventure for sure!
Great place for a family visit. Went with a group of teenagers who loved it.
I've been going to this place since I was a kid and I love it every time I go.
Not very big
Interesting place. It is a little small but I was extremely surprised by how much they had to look at. A good spot to go and get fun facts about marine life and biology. Prices were decent, not too expensive.
This is a very inexpensive place with a lot to look at. It's not very big but you can spend a long time in there, plus they have scheduled little events throughout the day, and it's right off the main pier of the beach so there is a lot to do in the area. My two little girls (2 and 3) and myself enjoyed it therefore I highly recommend.
great beaches had an awesome time at the Tybee Island Turtle Trot 5K 2019 the Marine center is an amazing place to visit check it out
We loved it!
Grandkids loved this place.
Very informative.
Great marine Beach Walk! So much to see!
Lots to learn. Local animals.
awesome place to go
Cute little spot if you have very young children. Lots of educational information but not enough animals to entertain older kids. We were the only people in the place so it was easy to hang out and enjoy the exhibits.
You have to watch the turtle feeding.
Loved this! This was nice to visit while at the beach. Nicely priced as well.
Very educational enjoyed the exhibit.
Schedule a beach educational tour.
Worth seeing. It's small, but they do have wallks and shows in the area . It was incredibly hot when we were there and time was a constraint. So, we didnt get to do those.
A small operation but nice exhibits and friendly staff. Worth the small price of admission, especially if you're hanging out at the beach as your ticket is good all day so you can come and go as you like, returning for all the hands-on animal talks and feedings.
My 7 year old granddaughter enjoyed the touch tank but the staff is less than friendly.
Great for kids.
Took marine biology walk - outstanding!
Although small, this place is full of information and the staff is very informative. We got to see the Sea turtle feeding and see Maize out of her enclosure. Great place for the young and old alike.
Very small and tight to move around in.
Small, well maintained display indoors. Our guide for indoors and along the beach was very knowledgeable and patient with our group.
Always fun
Educational and a fun way to cool off
A very small center that doesn't take very long to get through. But, the staff is very friendly and we had the opportunity to touch and interact with several of the animals. Nice clean aquariums with a variety of native species to see and learn about. Worth the $5 price in my opinion.
Good to visit if you want to learn more about sea life. Very nice staff
What an awesome experience! There were 4 stations of activities for our guided group to do. We sifted sand and explored the different organisms we found. We walked the beach while the director explained the sea life. We then went into the classroom and saw animals under the camera and explored the exhibits and gift shops. There is only canned water to drink in the limited gift shop, but there were more options at the pier vending machine.
They four small sized rooms with tank displays and an area to touch the local sea creatures. It has a gift shop with plenty to choose from and it is decently priced. $5 entry fee. Staff was friendly. Great for small children.
Great friendly staff! We had a guide who took us around and he was fabulous! The only bummer? Parking was terrible!!!
My kids had a great time we will come again
Nice stop after the beach
Giving 4 stars for their humanitarian efforts, save the turtles, and their displays on importance of recycling and not polluting. Staff helpful, knowledgeable. Too bad the place is outdated. Displays appear tired and worn. Can someone get them some grant money so they can update their tanks?
We went with Girl Scouts and had a great time.
The littlest aquarium <3
Our girl scout trooped loved it ! Bailey was the guide! Highly recommended
Its a bit small but the staff are interactive with your children telling them about all the animals. They're extremely knowledgeable and able to convey that on a child's level. We were there at the right time and got to see feeding time which was amazing!!!! It's right on the beach so you can take a walk when you're done.
This is a small, but very nice, natural history museum with displays of many live sea creatures. Great for kids.
Small museum but good value.
The tanks were well-kept but not fully stocked on account of last October's hurricane, so that is to be expected. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the educator that gave us a tour, Andrea, was both knowledgeable and passionate about what the Tybee Island Marine Science Center does. It's well worth the price of admission with or without the guided tour, but of course you will feel you got the most out of your money if you get a guided tour. Highly recommend checking it out!
Very educational. Just hand over the $5 they are asking for entrance. These goes to helping the environment.
This is a nice place to visit with kids
Fabulous exhibits and tanks with loads of interesting and engaging information in a smallish yet well appointed space!
Great little spot to check out wildlife living on and around Tybee! Cute gift shop and neat things to see. It's a very small place, but worth the $5 per person (over 4yrs). We really enjoyed it!
Cool, low cost attraction, for kids.
Small but good learning experience for the kids
Very educational! Our 1st grade class had a ball!
Neat place to visit. Dedicated staff. Very friendly and willing to answer our many questions. Definitely recommend.
Such an interesting place to visit. I definitely recommend doing a tour with them. Very informational.
What a great place! It is small but is full of information about marine life. Definitely worth the $5 and the people that work there seem to love what they do.
Worth my $5. Next year theh will have a bigger facility on North Beach but this one was really neat even though it was small. Great for kids.
We took a group of fifth graders to the Tybee Island Marine Center. The students had an incredible experience and truly learned a lot. There were several different informative sessions for the students to participate in throughout the day. My favorite part was helping the students to dissect a squid. The students learned a great deal!
Very interesting . I saw a Robin fish that has legs & wing like find.
Support the effort! Quaint, cute exhibit with knowledge staff.
Tybee Island is the closest beach to Atlanta. it is lovely and laid back. Nice beaches. plenty of local restaurants and bars!
Myself and my grandchildren really enjoyed it it's very small for now but they are building a new one if you're interesting about marine life they are extremely knowledgeable they even have a camp for the kids
Great little place, you have to visit!
The staff is super knowledgeable. They are getting a new place at North Beach next may that's supposed to be much bigger and on stilts, so I'm excited to see the new one next year.
Very small but they will be moving in 2020. Staff is very knowledgeable and entertaining for kids. Store has a lot for souvenirs. Parking is not free but prices are good.
Marine science center is a strong name for this hobbyist level tourist trap. Not much to see besides some fish and turtles, and they still charge considerable admission. The setup and decor of the place seem a bit amateur, and while there is some great information to share and read about, you'll be in and out in 10 minutes.
Small but educational and staff was very friendly. The kids liked the touch tank and seeing the sea turtle.
Great little place to see some sealife. Admire what they do.
The staff was very friendly and the Marine Center is kept very clean. I loved the old turtle! He was like an ornery old man!
Fun and educational. Great gift shop!
Such a cute place!
Great place to take the kids while it is raining on the beach. I only wish they could have a bigger place with more activities
Smallish center, but extremely educational program for our GS- definitely worth it
Nice little spot to check out some local creatures from the area. Learn a little bit about how humans affect the environment as well. Worth the quick stop especially if you have kids.
Awesome little spot!
Small but awesome to bring kids and see the local fauna.. Great place and it also provides tours of the area.
Knowledgeable friendly staff, we have been on beaches walks several times. Love them, learn new things each time. Totally recommend.
Small but very interesting exhibits.
It's worth the $10 you spend to get in I know at it's current location by the pier it's small but the money goes for a great cause!!
Great facility, informative and inviting staff
Place is small, but has lots of neat species. Our kids loved it. The touch pool was really neat. The staff were friendly. Gift shop had quite a bit to choose from at decent prices. The kids loved seeing the baby gator and petting the snakes.
Cool little aquarium right on the beach.
Cant wait to see their new place
Bring closed-toed shoes so you can go on the Marsh Trek! It was so fun and informative to see the saltmarsh plants and animals. There are hour-long talks or guided walks, each $10, you can call to find out the day's events if you want to know the best time of day to go. The science center itself is small but cool. Great for learning about both sea turtles and terrestrial (land-dwelling) turtles - they have many locally rescued baby turtles in informative exhibits. The admission fee of $5 supports their work in rescuing, raising, and releasing these cuties.
Great, but wish it was bigger and had Starfish. And more details to read.
Enjoyed the visit to the exhibit, but the bathroom are very gross on side if building, no toliet paper, all areas soaked, and peed on.,and smells very badly. NEED TO POST WHO TO CONTACT FOR. IMMEDIATE SERVICE
Took the kids for a something to do. The staff excellent. The took the time to answer questions, all the kids were asking tons. I went 6 years ago and it was ok, they have definitely made lots of changes and the little pool where you can touch the sea life is cool.
The center was smaller than I expected (they're building a new center on the North Beach), but the staff were all passionate about the marine life and extremely helpful and friendly. My daughter wants to be a marine biologist, and everyone she interacted with encouraged her dream and told her new things to make her more excited.
Little complex with a great staff. They're building a new bigger center north of the island. They manage to pack a whole bunch of stuff in this little complex. A must see for visitors of all ages. There's a hands on basin for visitors to interact with little ocean crabs and snails and a display of beach sands from around the world.
They'll be moving to a better location soon, so information about it may change. They've got a touch pool, lots of information about their fish and turtles, and several live exhibits. When we were there, a guide had the corn snake out of the cage and was entertaining the children with it. We had a great time! It costs $5 per person as of June 2017, age 4 and under are free. This gets you entrance all day, and free "behind the scenes" tours three times a day. Definitely recommend it while you're in Tybee!
I just made it to the lobby of this place. My gosh my golly was there a very nice lady working at the front desk of the place. I just remember walking around and browsing. They had a lot of posters and cool things in the lobby of the place. I wasn't up for spending any hard cash to go any further but it was a great experience all around.
This is a small center took about 30 min to walk through with 5 kids and 3 adults in our group but very good information
This is a small attraction with only a few exhibits, but it's really interesting and informative. They have a number of small turtles and other local sea creatures, and the staff are passionate and knowledgeable. Even the gift shop has excellent offerings.
Really informative turtle program!!!!!
Great little place to take your kids. $5 for adults and free for the little ones. They have a sea turtle feeding at 10:45 AM. Staff was very friendly. Small place but absolutely worth it.
Even though weather wasn't that good, I did enjoy the beach whose sand was good.
We really enjoyed our private tour. Excellent staff!!
It was a nice place and the price for admission was fair, but I didn't like that I had to pay for 2 hours of parking when I was only there for like 30 minutes
It was a small aquarium that had information about different fish turtles hermit crabs and a snake. I enjoyed it.
This is a small center but all profits go to helping marine animals and it is inexpensive. And kids would love it
It had many species of fish. Along with things such as turtles and seahorses. Overall it was awesome
Some of it was cool to look at, but it's not worth the price.
Ok Aquatic musuem. Very small but helpful and friendly staff. I liked the gift shop.
Small space but we always learn a lot when we come here. Staff is knowledgeable and kind.
Small but very informative staff. Learned a lot about the native wildlife. Did the behind the scenes tour and got to see them fees the sea turtle. Very cool!
This place really owns a piece of my heart. I am such a tree hugger at heart and I love all creatures....but sea turtles....there's nothing like them in grace and charm. This place takes and heals them and either releases them when safe, or they find forever homes if they can't be safely released. Please come and see this place and experience a hatchling release if you get the chance.
This place is fun and packed full of information. It's very reasonable to get in and the admission cost goes right into feeding and caring for the animals. We did a sea turtle egg excavation on the beach. Way cool. Talk about a life time memory!
Enjoyed this place, the staff was very nice
Awesome place that supports the ecosystem and environment of Tybee Island. It is a bit small but they do so much for the coast.
Very neat
The Tybee Island Marine Science Center is small but it doesn't lack for interesting things to see. I was impressed by the alligators, the octopus, the jellyfish and Matthew the sea turtle. There is a "touch" table filled with sand and seawater that has small crabs, seashells and a horseshoe crab that kids can explore in. I'd say the Science Center should not be missed if you want to learn about Tybee Island
A great little place! They are getting a new, much bigger building soon too!
I loved this place! They have a small aquarium where they focus on educating people about the local marine life. Its really small but I actually liked that bc we were easily able to get a behind the scenes tour. We were able to see their animal husbandry area where we met and learned about turtles. I also love this place bc they do a lot to help and conserve the local wildlife. If sea turtle nests are found they help them to sea. All the animals on display are only there for a short time before they are released back into the wild. Very educational and the staff were great. Would definitely recommend!
It's small but enjoyable! I was pretty neat to walk through and see the aquatic animals.
We happen come in at perfect time, hey brought in a sea turtle to tag and chip him release him. It was amazing they allowed us to watch and ask questions during whole process. Amazing staff and so friendly.
Really small but a great place to take the kids
They only answer the phone during the week and you cannot leave a message on their voicemail. Parking was non existent... payed for a tour we did not get to go to
Interesting stuff and info in there. It is just really small.
This was a really nice place! For just $5 it was very educational and they have some really cute items in the gift shop. They also have a behind the sceens tour where you learn how and why they do what they do. The turtle feeding wa so cute and hopedully you get to pet the friendly snake!
Quite educational. Not too pricey.
Very small aquarium at a low price (great break from the heat). We watched baby sea turtle feeding!
Wonderful experience! You can learn so much in this tiny building and there are so many rescued or rehabilitating animals :)
Quality over quantity.
Chantal gave us a wonderful tour
Took my girl scout troop and earned the coastal badge! We all loved it!
We took a gallery tour at this location and had a blast. The staff are very friendly and ready to answer any and all questions. Would definitely go back and highly recommend this place.
Great program for Scouts.
Very nice place to take the kids to learn about the local marine life. I thought the fee to see the very small exhibit was a bit high, hence only 4 stars. We spent maybe 15 minutes there. I can understand the price point if you were definitely going on one of their tours, but I suggest a smaller fee for those who are just looking at the exhibits.
The people were very nice and loved their system on switching out animals on display. All animals are returned to the wild when possible. Kind of small but will eventually moving to a bigger building. Wish there were more tours (only 2 today). Overall very informative.
Not worth the money. Very small place was able to get through it in about 20 minutes
So educational, fun... Gift shop prices are probably best on the island. Small place but one of my favorite parts of my Tybee trip.
Loved my first visit to the museum! It was so nice to see the turtles up close and talk with knowlegable staff about them and about ways to get involved
Cute little place. Informative.
Not a whole lot to look at but they were nice people. Really it's kinda cozy.
Two adults and two children is $20. Staff are friendly and clearly knowledgeable. It's quite a small space but houses a lot of different animals to see - and a souvenir shop. We greatly enjoyed seeing the hatchlings and took the behind the scenes tour and the scheduled turtle feeding (included in the entry fee). Would recommend for children to learn about the work that goes into protecting the turtle eggs and hatchlings.
This place is so cool! I've been coming to Tybee for years and just recently stepped into this place. For such a low price and a good cause go take a peak at local aquatic life!
Lots of information and knowledgeable staff. Small but very enjoyable!
Excellent display very well done with a noble mission. Very cramped quarters. They need a benefactor with deep pockets for a building maybe 4 times bigger!
We went to visit this science center because my granddaughter loves marine life. We all enjoyed the visit here, learned a lot about sea life and had a great time.
It's very small but it has nice exhibits. They have beach and marsh walks that sounds interesting.
Very small science center but it still has a larger number of animals and is very educational.
Neat little place. Friendly staff, interesting creatures, small but nice facility. Would recommend.
Great place to visit for children and adults.
Sad that the jellyfish exhibit was down. The public bathrooms were atrocious. However, we really enjoyed the little walk through. The baby alligators are precious!
Wonderful place to see the beautiful local marine animals! The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable!
Very informative little science center. We liked it!
Great place to take the kids. Under 5 they get in free. I wish the place could be bigger and have more to see. Staff were great at explaining things.
Great place however, not much parking in the busy season. Still, nice small place and really fun collection of sea life.
Very educational. Interesting what they do here.
Very friendly staff.
It's small but you should expect that going in. Cheap fun entertainment for 30min-1hr. Very educational and friendly workers. See many things up close that you can find along the coast.
A small aquarium but very informative and they do a lot to protect the beach & sea turtles!!
Our turtle talk instructor Sydney was absolutely fantastic. My son has been playing “turtle talk” since we left. Great experience if you enjoy learning about turtles, marine life or the environment.
Great place dedicated to supporting the community and surrounding ecosystems.
Paid $5 each to see little aquariums
