This Museum is included in the category of Art museum.
Great exhibits, and great place to take babies that are old enough to play. My 1 year old loves the kids room!!
Great place for an afternoon!
It was a pleasant experience. I really enjoyed the exhibits they had.
Small but well worth it.
It was a nice experience
Take the whole family to the Columbus museum awesome place & you will learn something new everyday
Love everything about this place. The different cultures. I love learnimg about them. Very educational.
My Boys had a blast there in the green shirts
A great place for the family. A mix of beautiful art, history, culture, and natural history. A real gem.
Really enjoyed the Ansel Adams exhibit
I always loved going to this museum with my girls. Beautiful art and plenty of history for the kids.
One of my favorite places in columbus. Never too crowded. Even fun for children. Fun & educational
My family and I really enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot at our visit.
Nice collection. Has something for everyone. Loved the kids art section. My son was able to spend time in this section playing while we took turns looking at the exhibits. A military tattoo themed exhibition was on while we visited.
The museum is cool, but I didn't like the security guards going around looking IN ALL of the vehicles.
Always enjoy browsing this museum. Its got quite a selection and is full of friendly faces. I always see something new every trip.
Love the local history!
Go! It's amazing
Celebrated Dia de los Muertos on "Think Like an Artist Thursday" at the Columbus Museum of Art. You could create your own mask out of poster board, a flower out of tissue paper, etc. Very creative way to help people become familiar with the museum and the arts and to also help their inner artist break free. :) Fun evening with friends. We aren't big art museum goers so our favorite part was the Columbus Lego display which was truly amazing. Love the free general admission on Sundays. We enjoyed exploring the exhibits and checking out all of the works of art
Would give this 5 stars but the restrooms are disgusting. They look remodeled from the outside but it's vile on the inside. Overall nice park with friendly ppl.
Very interactive museum and there is a lot to see and do
I felt overwhelmed there was so much stuff to see on so many floors. Breathtaking I must say
Great FREE museum. Great exhibits on the local history and a great art collection. There are also many kids activities on the lowest level. Well worth a stop.
The children loved it!
Gardens were not that good
Love our local Museum full of really good exhibits and I love the architecture of the building. I am saddened that you never see a lot of people there because they have wonderful local artist and the exhibits related to the history of Columbus should be seen by everyone who lives here.
It's free to get in. They do accept donations though. It's a fun way to spend the day with family and friends. There's even a children's play area on the bottom floor
Great experience, many exhibits, interactive. Beautiful portrayal of history.
First time going to the museum in years with my family enjoyed the atmosphere, they have a children's area downstairs but it nice to learn about a lot of things from the old days.
It was ok. Not that super interesting in my opinion. A part of history - in a fun way for the kids - and paintings. They also have a space where children can play, the three kids that were with me had a great time there. Free wifi!
It was wonderful to see the exhibit on the 75th anniversary of the Miss Georgia Scholarship competition. The dresses were beautiful.
What an amazing place! First of all free admission. We spend a great afternoon learning.
Cool place
Nice place to go
The Columbus Museum is one of those hidden gems you always hear about. The place is free to get in, they have good air conditioning so it’s a great place to beat the heat. There is numerous galleries to visit and have a cool kids room with a lot of fun activities for the younger kids to do.
Such a wonderful place to visit if you are an art lover.
Went for the Carmella show. Wonderful time friendly people
This has been one of my favorite places to take my kids since they were toddlers and that was over 20 years ago. Today my third child (23) and I explored the gardens that beautifully grace the museum grounds. Wish we had come a week or two sooner when the azaleas were in full bloom.
Has to be one of my favorite museums to visit.
Fun Day! Kid's had a great time downstairs.
What a nice hidden gem in Columbus. The photography exhibit there right now is breath taking.
Great spot for a wedding! There weaponry display is impressive!
It's a pretty fun place. Went there a few times. It's cool to see history from Columbus.
It was so beautiful and moving. I want to bring my granddaughter when she gets a little older.
Outstanding local museum dealing with the history of Coumbus. Excellent exhibits and artifacts. Well recommended.
Beautiful. Great history and art from the Chattahoochee.
A nice place to bring the family.
Free admission, great exhibits and hands on kids room!
It was an amazing experience!
Very nice museum, I was impressed by the quality of the exhibits.
Beautiful place, excellent customer service.
This Museum is Nice. Free, good place to take a date. Beautiful art, and rich in history.
Unbelievable gem in the heart of our city! ❤
There are many things under one roof. The permanent history collection is very well done leading the visitor through the history of the area. They also bring in temporary exhibits. These are always changing and lead to a different experience each time you visit. I almost feel like this is a well kept secret! This museum has great art on display, and fun kids area, and more. I will have to go back to experience it all. I was very impressed that a museum with no admission fee was so wonderful! I can't wait to go back and take my daughter.
Very well-maintained facility showcasing not only the rich history of the area, but also great works of art of different mediums. Worth visiting!
Very nice and educational!
Lovely place to see some art and enjoy some local history.
Always great place to visit. Even when you've been multiple times.
The museum boast of the history of the local area but does little to give a complete picture of the past. Indigenous populations and slave life are grossly just brushed over. The children's section does offer activities that entertain children up to the age of 10. However the activities do not seem to incorporate any of the themes of the museum.
Loving my stay here. Plenty of activities to do. Whatever you wanna eat you'll find a place. Weather fab
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The at was very interesting and I enjoyed moving through each space of the three floors. I went with my teenage son and I wish I had more time to spend there! The current featured artist was very intriguing! We will definitely return soon!
Very nice experience and it's all free. Worth the visit
The kids zone needs redone
Such a wonderful museum! There are a lot of different areas to explore and it is so clean, professional, educational. You will not be disappointed!!
Well displayed history of Columbus and Georgia. We enjoyed learning at this museum.
Not too big. Good for a family
Wished there were more things in the children area. Also they need to bring back the sound maker in the children's hall. Some of the exhibits did not work in main area.
They have so much good art there rn. We were there for almost two hours and didn't even get off the main floor.
Great history exhibits. Nice gathering/meeting area in lower level.
An exquisite find in Columbus GA. We entered the family exhibition of the surrounding area and who they were. The audio stories were awesome. The stories are heartfelt and personal, just wonderful. The history from 10000 years ago was short and could be updated with more details. I visited the LSU Natural history museum which added iPads with background information to the exhibition. All and all a great spot, I will return when back to the area.
Great local resource
Very interesting history and art, as well as unique exhibits coming out every now and then! The gardens could use work here and there but honestly the place is very nice with beautiful works that are always changing! A must-see if you visit Columbus!
Always something new to see, and kids love the transformations area
A few friends and I went to see the 4 generation of African American art on quits. It was beautiful!! Great Workman ship.
Love it there...
The Ansel Adams display is breathtaking!
The museum was really neat. I had gone there that day with my Dad, who is 78. Our whole family was born in Columbus, but My parents moved us to north of Atlanta for my Dad's banking job. Only complaint : took a pic and, because my flash was on "automatic " she chewed me out. Probably won't return.
A very lovely museum for a wonderful quiet day
A nice small museum with a combination of interesting local history and art with a good modern art collection.
Very nice quiet beautiful place to take your family or go alone to walk around, comfortable and best of all it’s free! Thank you ☺️
A very nice museum. It's better than many other towns with museums. Has a little film and lots of exhibits. Neat walking grounds too.
Great fun at the Star Wars event. Snacks, a live band (which was very good) arts and crafts for the kids and a costume contest. Always an excellent place to visit.
Very nice. Had our Christmas party there.
Great place for learning history. Also having performances enhance the learning experience!
great time
This is a great place to take the family, go with a friend or even visit by yourself, as I did. The museum has so much to offer, the exhibits they have on display are "have to see" the Eddie Dominguez: Garden of Eden Exhibition, Fort Benning at 100, Ansel Adams: The Masterworks, and Our Stories Live Here: 65 Years of the Mildred L. Terry Public Library are just tasty bit of what you can see. They also have a gift shop that is second to none in Georgia. In Columbus, Georgia this a must place to visit!!!
Very nice museum and except for the landing on the stairs, it's very wheelchair accommodating.
Great for kids and school age kids.
Very educational and the kids had a blast!
Great place to visit, something for everybody. Kids loved the children's area. Covers alot of topics for homeschooling; art, history, art. Best of all it's free. I like to buy Christmas ornaments of places we visit and the lady in the store went into the office and found them for me.
I made a blown glass pumpkin! Kelly Robertson was the glass artist teaching the class and he was wonderful. when picking colors I ask for a certain color for the stem that he had not brought, and he ended up mixing some other things and making a custom blend to try and get the color for my pumpkin stem similar to the one I wanted. He showed us how we were going to do everything and helped us, so that there was no way that we would end up with a wonky looking pumpkin. We had brought a 10 year old with our group and he was wonderful talking to her at her level and not overloading her with information and making sure that her pumpkin came out just as good as the adults Pumpkins did. Case friendly and outgoing and loves to talk to people. The next day when I went to go pick up my pumpkins, even though he was helping prep for a class he recognized me, an impressive feat since I had gone the day before wearing old jeans and t-shirt my hair pulled back in ponytail and the day that I picked up my pumpkins waa Sunday so my hair was down, makeup on, and in a dress and heels. and I know that he really knew who I was because he called me by the nickname that he had given me, Birmingham. I cannot wait for Christmas when we do Snowman and or ornaments!
Mouse ran over the foot of one of the folks in our group. Other than that, fantastic experience!
Great museum with a variety of exhibits covering art and local history. There is an excellent array of art genres. Many traditional portraits as well as more modern mediums. Some of the local history displays cover original people's settlements, civil war events, Fort Benning history, women's sufferagette movement and more.
Been going there since I was a kid good place
Exhibition of Bo Bartlett's artwork was incredible and thought provoking. #artwork #contemporaryart #paintings
Went for with kids for a puppet show. They loved it.
Friends & I participated in their first Heist last night. It was a lot of fun!
Wonderful museum with lots of art and history. Free admission!
Beautiful and educational fun for the family
My 3-year-old and I come here every week. This is an awesome children’s room, but we also really enjoy the local history section, especially the model school house and army tent. The art is diverse and very interesting and their garden out back is fun to explore.
Nice museum & there's activities for children!
Wonderful place. Amazing works of art. There were lots of different exhibits to look at. If you love art and history then I would suggest coming here.
Very nice children's section. Clean, FREE.
Cute kid spot for kids
Beautiful gallery! From the outside I expected it to be a small collection of boring work but I was wrong! They had quite a bit of work to offer! There was also a children's room for them to interact and play, which I thought was a genius idea. If you enjoy museums and visiting Columbus, this is a place to see!
Helpful staff from the guides to security plus plenty of interesting exhibits including local artists and subjects.
Clean and light. Well thought out displays and pleasant staff/volunteers. Easy access and parking.
Very cool- and Free!
I love that this museum is free. There is so much to learn and see. The children’s portion of the museum is a lot of fun.
Love the history gallery and the changing art exhibits. Great to come walk through with my teenage daughter.
Ansel Adams exhibit very impressive. Check out this museum! Well laid out. Well thought out exhibits explaining the history of the Valley. Did I mention it's free of charge? It was a rainy day but will go back to see the grounds as well one day. Gift shop has many unique items as well.
So much to see and learn. We are planning a return visit in the future, as we were unable to see it all. I have been to other museums, where I had to pay, that didn't offer anywhere near as much to see.
Gorgeous museum of art and history. I love classic art and history, but I'm not quite fond of modern art, still a very interesting exhibit none the less!
This place is amazing! I was only able to cover the first floor. I plan in coming back to see the rest of it
Great museum that is never crowded. Off the beaten path a bit, very nice clean museum. They have a nice area for children on ground floor.
A wonderful place to spend an afternoon! Great exhibits, lots of history, a fabulous little gift shop with lots of unique, and very reasonably priced jewelry! And --- admission is free! This is a jewel in the city and a great place to spend a few hours if you came to town for the rafting but the weather didn't cooperate! :)
Very unique and Child friendly museum
Great place to revisit history.
My daughter and I had the best time and absolutely can't wait to come back!!
For a place that has little to do, this is a gem and introduction to art and history. A small reminder of DC museums.
The museum was beautiful
Very nice. Free
Didn't feel welcomed...had that "Get out" feeling
Very nice. They have a nice section to bring kids to learn about puppets and some science and some art
Fantastic Friday was a wonderful time for the Boys and Girls Club of Columbus. The Juggler of Paris was a born entertainer
Wonderful tribute to Leigh A. And other local artists. Enjoyed the MCSD display!!
We love going to the museum, there is always something fascinating to see. Great thing is it's free and educational without the kids even knowing they are learning.
Pretty nice place
Clean & lots of nice exhibits
Great place for children to learn and explore.
Friendly staff. We were disappointed to find nothing about the movie Kiss of the Tarantula (filmed in Columbus), but enjoyed the Carson McCullers and Carter displays.
Great local museum. Wonderful kids area downstairs.
Kind of overrated. Columbus doesn't have much to offer, but it's a decent recorder of GA history
3 year old and I enjoyed the history portion very much. We didn't spend much time at the modern art part of the museum though.
The Columbus Museum is really impressive for a city this size. Regional history is well represented. The children's area is fun and interactive. The rotating exhibits are always so well done. It's a wonderful facility for events, too. If you've never been, go spend some time there. It's free. It's fun. You just might learn something.
There is alot to learn there
Love that it's free admission!! The toddler classes I signed my daughter up for have been fun so far!
Great displays of local history. Loved the video story of the female textile worker from the 1930's. Few pieces of art add to the value of a visit.
Great day trip with lots of stuff to see. I took my 10 year old son. He wasn't as interested in the art exhibits as he was the historical ones. If you're planning a trip with kids, keep in mind their attention span and interests. There is no admission cost, so that is always a plus.
The kids loved the exploration & All of the displays in the beginning. We spent about an hour and a half there on a rainy day. We didn't pay anything. But we made a $20 donation.
Awesome place for family and friends to enjoy some time.
Fun place for kids in the basement and many different events throughout the year
Love this place very interesting
This place has free admission so stop here and enjoy all of the wonderful history! We visited while traveling through. Lots to see!
LOTS to see here! Even have a room for kids. Give yourself at least 90 minutes to see most of the displays. But don't bring drinks.
The museum store has unique items and locally made crafts.
Fun doing Christmas ornaments - glass blowing! Great for involving kids and educating them.
Very spacious and has very detailed displays.
There was a juggler show with a very nice story to tell. He was amazing. I have 4 girls and they loved it especially the middle 2 age 5 and 10
I would like to thank ms.Rebecca Bush for her time and support with the warren Williams experience. Sincerely, Eugene Washington
Great atmosphere good place to have a wedding.
Very impressive
It would of been better, but there was a wedding.
Extremely well designed and professionally staffed. Not thrilled by security staff profiling certain demographics however.
My daughter and I enjoyed these gardens on a beautiful Saturday morning and it was great! Her dog, Callie, enjoyed the gardens with us. The many varieties of azaleas are in full bloom, along with many more flowering plants and shrubs. If only I could have one of each, I would be one happy happy camper!
Had a great time visiting the museum with the West Georgia Camera Club to see the Tuskeegee photography exhibition. Wonderful museum and I highly recommend it!
Went for the Ansel Adam collection photographs but enjoyed a little history of Columbus, examples of local artists, and a beautiful garden designed by Frederick Olmstead's sons (landscape architect of the Biltmore Estates Asheville). The diffuse natural lighting in the museum is well used.
Interesting
