The place is beautiful, but Warner Robins has so much more.
We just took our grandson around the parking lot to see the jets. Didn't go inside.
A very well done museum! Very informative, very interesting and very entertaining! This immersive experience brings you back to that time in history and gives you the sense of what it was like for those who lived it!
As an longtime fan of the B-17, I hadn't realized this was one of the most complete examples remaining to date. The staff was very friendly and the man working on the display even took the time to let our kids get closer looks. Absolutely enjoyed all the information and displays!
What a great place! The Flying Fortress is beyond words. Thank you to all the volunteers that revive and maintain everything. And of course, the restaurant in the museum is amazing.
Is an excellent museum. I was last here 15 years ago and the museum has added numerous more exhibits. Truly a first rate facility to honor those who served in the air war.
Wow! That's all I can say. This museum is so much bigger and better done than I would have possibly imagined. All of the exhibits are interesting and engaging, and seeing the full airplanes was a nice surprise too. This museum was informative and emotional, and I feel they do a great job of humanizing everyone involved in WW2 and the Mighty Eighth. I can't wait to go back and spend more time here.
Great visit..even with kids ages 10 and 7. The mix of photos, memorbilia ans videos helped. Mission experience guide was so knowledgeable. All were friendly and was a great experience. Library and research center also helpful and found neat info and pictures on a relative!
Fabulous! Worth every penny. If you get an offer from a docent named Randy to listen to his lecture/talk during your visit SAY YES! What a great storyteller! I enjoyed the sections on POWs and the WASP. Both were very informative.
They pack a lot in a small space. Well worth the visit.
Such an incredible experience to take my family to this museum. My grandfather was part of the Mighty Eighth, so this museum has been on my list for years. It was worth the trip and the time and we will definitely be back. When you enter the main room and see the restored B-17 on full display, be prepared for the emotions to come rolling in. What a beautiful and yet powerfully nostalgic sight to see! It is a wonderful thing to pass these experiences and visuals on to my small children so they can appreciate what they have, as well as their heritage. Note - with a big family, it was more economical to buy a family membership than all of the individual entries.
Wow, extremely informative and presented Museum based on the Mighty Eight Air Force Squadron. The experience begins with a three part movie presentation on the preparation, planning and bombing mission of a B-17 Bomber. The focal point if the main displays is a restored B-17 Bomber. Additional displays on POWs, women in the air service and many displays of air squadrons and memorabilia.
A decent collection of historical exhibits of US Heros and stories of their efforts
Fabulous museum! Definitely worth the tour!
Fabulous museum with amazing displays of historic planes and artifacts. Well maintained, with wonderful, knowledgeable staff.
Every time I get to go to DC I make sure this is at the top of my list to visit. I love it here
So much to take in, quite an emotion inducing experience. I cannot recommend it enough if you love history to definitely check this out.
Lots of history. The docents are very informative. It's not just about planes, it's about the men and women of WW II, who fought for freedom. Lots of historical items on display. Worth the visit. Take your time and learn what the history books don't have time to tell you. Never forget.
I love this Aeronautical Museum, of the 8th Army Air force One needs to visit to appreciate what all these airmen went thru for survival.
Another great experience here. Such a committed group of docents who are so knowledgeable. The museum is fabulous.
We have been to Savannah multiple times and seen the signs and decided to stop. Glad we did it was awesome and Gil was very informative and awesome as well. Me, my husband and 2 kids enjoyed it!
Wonderful and so full of history. Every person should visit. What these airmen did is absolutely amazing. Every time I go to Florida to see my family, I take the time to visit.
I absolutely loved this place, it's a great event venue.
More than meets the eye. If you go on Wednesday you can get your picture taken in B17, What an experience
A very enjoyable visit. Very well set up and very informative. I highly recommend. You will need 2 to 3 hours to really take it in
This is an amazing museum. We could have spent a lot longer to fully enjoy and appreciate all of the exhibits, gardens and chapel. I recommend this place and hope to return
Good place to meditate and go back to what was FREEDOM earned with SACRIFICE.
Cool place thank the 8th for their services
Full of the history of the might eighth! The museum had a lot of artifacts and detailed historical memorabilia as well as interactive theatre's and other games and presentations. Wish it had more aircraft hiwever it was a great time!
My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding there and it was beautiful and Emily did a wonderful job!! #Thank you
This was a fantastic experience, beautiful displays, great staff. The presenters in the live presentations were interacting with their audience in a professional, informative, and fun ways. Hands on displays, great in-depth information, if you choose to learn things in depth. Quick over views and displays for a less detailed learning experience. If you have an interest in Air Force history and airplanes, this is a "Do Not Miss!" stop in Georgia!
What a surprise gem! A bit off the beaten path but well worth the excursion. Meticulously maintained aircraft and detailed exhibits. A must for history buffs and airplanes enthusiasts!
such a great museum about world war two especially about the European part of ww2 mainly is about ww2 in Europe. had tons of artifacts about ww2 airplane stuff and ww2 stuff in general. If you like world war two you will really enjoy this museum. It has a very neat and pretty chapel right outside of the museum
Very cool perfectly restored B -17. Museum tells the story of the men who flew them and the conditions the endured.
Must see for the whole family. Keep in mind the outdoor garden is a memorial
Nice museum. Lots of history here. It's a great place to learn about our past and the details that happened during WW2. They had some pretty cool planes on display, along with many other displays to keep you interested. You are allowed to take pictures whenever you want. They are very nice and welcoming here. I bought a few postcards at the gift shop and the ladies working there were nice, too.
Was there with a class field trip. Very well kept museum and the guides were very knowledgeable. Would recommend stopping in.
A great perspective on World War II. Incredibly informative displays, film shot by people who were there, wonderful tribute to all the men and women who served. A must see!!
Great information and lots of videos. WW II focus and had special Women pilots display
Very cool place. Great place if you're traveling to take a break and get out and stretch. Also good for kids if they're into any military history.
Great museum. The garden and chapel out back are beautiful. Ample parking and friendly staff. Hotels nearby.
Enjoyed the visit. Particularly the section on women's role in WWII
Love this place. Very educational and informative. A wonderful tribute to the efforts and sacrifices of our great Miltary.
Great place, great guides who really know their stuff. An intact restored B17 is the least of the displays. A must-see if you're in the area.
This place is great and educational! I found out a lot of things about the war I never knew!
Wonderful place to visit if you are interested in military history. Many exhibits that you can actually touch and photograph. Tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. An Air Force or WWII buff could spend a week here. Can't say enough about how enjoyable this was. Try the aerial gunner simulator. Wish I had one of those at home.
It's a history lesson on what these men and women when through to give us our freedom not only them but all who served we give thanks
Went here as it interested my husband who is a Vietnam veteran & enjoys all history. I was surprised to find that I too thoroughly enjoyed this museum. Besides the history here, which is beautifully presented, the guides & staff were very kind and pleasant. We also very much enjoyed the outdoor part of this museum as well. We visited the gift shop at the end and were surprised at the quality of the products offered & the very reasonable prices. Highly recommend. Also know that you should allow ample time to visit.
Lots of good explanations with plenty of artifacts from the men who flew and manned the planes including those who were captured. I would have given it a 5 star but there weren't enough planes.
This is a very great place to get alot of information, learn about our efforts to end the war of world war11 , the things that had to be done in order for us to a free nation, well worth the admission price for the young and old alike.
Excellent exhibit, filled with plenty to see and explore and interact with. Great for a family or history lovers of all ages! We will defintiely be coming back soon to visit again.
Well worth the visit. Thanks to all who have served and who are serving.
As a teacher and historian who has visited a lot of museums, this is a must see. The exhibit are excellent. Staff were very friendly. We were lucky enough to be there to talk with a docent who was a pilot in a b17 and he had quite a story to tell. The whole space has been built and designed with care. It really paints a picture of the experience. It is a fitting monument to the men who fought in the air over Europe. This is worth driving out of your way for.
Great experience, really enjoyed the exhibits.
I wish you had a 10 for the rating. That is what they would get. I is wonderful.
REALLY enjoyed our visit! I’ll be taking my son back with the rest of my family because I think they’ll appreciate it. I drove 90 minutes and it was worth it! -It’s very reasonably priced and much bigger than I thought. -Friendly and knowledgeable greeters right inside the doors. It set the tone for the rest of the visit. -very impressive gift store and again very reasonably priced gifts. -I noticed a restaurant but I’m not really sure how that works because it definitely wasn’t open. -Super clean -There are HUGE planes inside. My 3 year old didn’t want to leave. :/ -The bonus is the stunning outdoor area and church. So cool! Parking was free and easy breezy. And there are plenty of places to eat, dollar store, grocery, etc. nearby.
I've loved WWII history since I was a child, particularly the air war over Europe. The museum was really great! I enjoyed learning about the 8th's role in detail, as well as the other air forces that served in Europe. Be sure to check out the exhibit on the POW experience. I learned a lot, and it is very well done and engaging.
We just looked around the reception area and outside, but building and grounds are beautifully maintained. From what we saw of the interior, it looks like they a wide selection of exhibitions. The staff are helpful and friendly. If I had the time, I would very much like to come back and really check the museum out!
Great place to take people to learn about history who has no idea how our freedom came about
Was a very nice place of learning about the Airforce
My wife’s family and I toured this museum yesterday & it’s a must stop for locals & tourists. The gentlemen that gave us a tour & showed us the videos was very knowledgeable and informative. This museum has something for all ages and pays tribute to those who have served and paid the ultimate price for our freedom. It was an honor to learn their story and the role the 8th Air Force played in us winning the war.
Very neat place to visit. My fiancee and I spent a few days in Savannah and this was truly a heart touching place to go. Our guide was the sweetest gentleman. Great display of things to see. Very patriotic. All staff was great. Awesome experience overall.
Staff & "briefers" excellent and we'll informed. They helped history come alive.
Walked in the lobby and wasn't sure what to expect. As soon as we walked into the actual museum I was glad we stopped off. The museum is well done and they had plenty of curators around to provide commentary. Absolutely worth the trip if you are in town.
Great place, my son and I we love WW2. Lot of info. Will come back definitely!!
Well worth the visit! If you have the opportunity, take the guided tour. The staff is well versed in the histories and can answer any questions one may have. The videos have so much detail and the memorial outside is a great way to remember those who gave all for us. The gift shop has some beautiful and funny trinkets also. I have used this space for interviews and have been here for a wedding. The chapel is gorgeous! The whole facility is beautiful with a great staff!
What a wonderful experience to witness. So much work went into creating all the exhibits. We were very impressed.
It truly was an amazing place to visit. A fine contribute to those that served our country
Supurb museum. A hidden jewel for anyone who is interested in WW2 history. Only complaint: would have loved to see a better exhibit of mighty eighth accomplishments AFTER WW2- Korea, Cold War, etc...
We researched a family member while there and were able to find all sorts of information about him and his final mission.
Excellent exhibition at a very reasonable price.
Nicely arranged museum with great matter and exhibits. Staff friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, and helpful. I frequent museums focused on military history and they have been outstanding in gathering great exhibits, presenting tastefully, plenty of details regarding object, history surrounding includes documented historical use, condition when receiving, an restoration needed, use history as well as military units using and known missons. So much information that for someone like me who takes lots of pictures to remember and share that more than one visit necessary. Prices to access reasonable and special rates for military and seniors, check with them.
Awesome place. Enjoyed it very much.
Very good displays and a great volunteer was our tour guide.
I have been to Savannah numerous times and have never visited here. We took our Girl Scout troop today and boy am I glad we did. We could have spent all day. Marvin did a wonderful job giving us our tour. The movie that starts in the hanger is a MUST. I've never seen an educational movie done this way. It is an experience in and of itself. The women's and Girl Scout exhibits are great.
Well done and informative, making a big impression on how much we owe these men and women. our mission guide was very good. There are sections off of the gift shop addressing women in the Air Force and the Tuskegee Airmen. And don't skip the memorial gardens.
Great place to visit while in Savannah! Recommended.
Anyone interested in military avaition history will enjoy.
Amazing WWII history and restored B17 Bomber
An amazing experience reasonable admission fee...great staff...give yourself plenty of time to take all this history in...loved loved it...
We love this place. We have gone so many times over the years. Our kids love it. I still don't know if we have seen everything. On Wednesdays you an get in an airplane cockpit. People are friendly and helpful.
Great history museum on the air force during WWIi
Great museum with wonderful knowledgeable staff. Took my son who is in the AF and daughter both had wonderful time. Research center was closed due to holiday but will be back.
Good exhibits friendly volunteers lots of information about the Air Force in World War II
This was so awesome, and very rememberable. These guys dropped my great grandfather into France.
What a treasure, I learned so much, and there is so much more, can't to go back
Learned about the famous men that sacrificed their lives for the freedom of mankind...
Great staff! Enjoyed the museum very much.
Hands down the best museum experience in the Savannah area for years now. I may be a bit partial given my grandfather's involvement with the 8th during the war, but if you want to learn about and in many ways experience history, this is place. Oh, and I got married in the chapel in the back a few years ago and that was great too. The grounds are beautiful back there. I recently took a friend of mine who is from Finland and obsessed with all things planes/jets/air force and he thought it was well worth the price of admission, particularly since they had veteran volunteers helping out. A must visit if you love history and are in the area.
Very interesting to learn about Marine Boot camp
Always wanted to visit The Mighty Eighth Air Museum. It was worth the wait. Very large and well laid out museum. Nicely organized with extensive documentation and exhibits. Movies and news clips used well in telling the story and making the viewer part of the events. We're planning to visit again. Very well done.
It’s a great museum to contribute to... but you won’t spend much time there. It has a B-17 on display, and a nice memorial garden. The chapel is interesting to say the least. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
When you land in Savannah allow yourself time to go visit this wonderful museum. So much history, the volunteers are very luethanks and even if you think you know EVERYTHING about WWII you might learn just one more interesting fact. From the artifacts to the original videos to the shooting the gun from the plane window, giving you the feeling of what those guys went through just a very little bit. Very cool... worth the time and small price!
Reall well done small museum
VERY Nice Museum. Unfortunately, they couldn't find any info on my Dad that we believe was part of the Mighty Eighth - we will have to go through the items we have from him. Staff was exceptional, you can tell they enjoy being there just as we did. Give yourself 2 - 3 hours to explore.
WWII was a war on land, sea, and air. The artifacts are real and the stories factual.
A wonderful museum. Great displays and so much information on the 8th Air Force and WWII. The staff and facilities are top notch. The food in the dinner room is very good. A very enjoyable way to spend a few hours.
One of the best museums I've been to. Full of fascinating details and memorabilia. Those who appreciate history esp WWII should plan to spend an entire day here.
Absolutely blown away by this place. I expected a decent experience but was completely floored by the staff, the exhibits, the interactive displays, just everything. The love and money put into this place was evident.
Have driven by this museum for years. This time we stopped. Really regret not having stop by sooner. It was truly a great experience. Will return!
Hard to beat very well done museum. Docents are outstanding.
Although we had limited the there, the docent made the most of our time and showed us the most important collections in the museum. I'd like to see more planes.
Just got back from a trip to Savannah and thought we would swing by the museum. $24 for two adults and I would have paid more! We spent 2 1/2 hours there and still didn’t have enough time to get through everything. Gil, one of the volunteers and Vietnam vet, did our mission briefing walkthrough and was so kind and knowledgeable and happy to answer our questions. The gift shop is also great- we were able to take home a nice print of a P-51 and a better understanding of The Mighty Eighth. We will definitely be back!
Went to The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum. What an awesome experience! Anyone interested in WWII history shouldn't miss going. We were there 2 1/2 hrs and still didn't see everything. Cost for senior admission $11.00
I always enjoy going here,so much history. Staff is very helpful.
Good food but a little over salted. Like the salad bar.
I was impressed with the stories. Going to return very soon.
Great displays, a wonderful tour and exhibits. Miss Sophie's for lunch is a good treat. The aircraft displays ate fabulous. The amount of time put into them is awe-inspiring.
We love this place and highly recommend it! We come here so often. There is so much to learn.
There isnt an employee in this place that cant tell you everything you want to know about the Mighty Eight. You would think the employees would grow tired of the same routine but they are always excited.
I highly recommend it It tell's you so much about the air Force and the history,
Fascinating displays and information. Good food in the cafeteria, too.
Awesome Awesome Awesome, this is MUST place to see. I totally love goi g to t his place, lots of history for the young and old.please stop and enjoy.
Very nice museum of WWII
We had a wonderful time visiting the AF museum. We went on the self guided tour and the exhibits were awesome. Staff were knowledgeable. Be prepared to swell with pride.
Barnes Catering Services here were wonderful. Excellent food and friendly, professional service.
Very nice WWII museum. Small but with plenty to see, well kept, and informative. Many stories are told with many videos, pictures and artifacts. With some actual planes inside and outside, games and presentations, there's enough to see and do to keep you busy. Overall good experience.
A vital part of our History and emotionally moving!!!!
The tour was amazing and informative, beautiful facility and great tour guide.
Huge airforce museum with loads of stuff. You can easily spend hours here. Highly recommended.
A really good museum showcasing the Mighty 8th Army Air Force.
Excellent Parking. Great Guide and Virtual Reality tour. Some areas could have used a little more lighting otherwise 5 stars.
One of the best museums I've been too. I loved the little nick nacks and the B-17 bomber inside is a sight to behold.
This is a excellent museum. staff is great.
Went here this morning! Awesome history experience.
Good information. Nice staff. They can accommodate field trips and large groups.
They have reorganized the inside of the store and now sell less merchandise than they used to. They've gone up on the price of most of the merchandise. For truckers looking for parking, 2/3 of the parking is now reserved parking. Personally, I'll never patronize this establishment again.
Lots of interesting Air Force history. Would like to go back with more time. On a middle school field trip...
This is a great little place to have a lunch. It has a nice little restaurant in it and they have great food.
Really fun. Lots of cool displays. But really good for under 12 years old. It's more of liking and reading.
Tribute to all the people who served in the 8th Army Air Force. They do a great job of highlighting the various types of missions done by this organization. In addition, they also highlight the two paths an airman might take after they were downed. The helpers who sheltered them or their experiences in a POW camp. Very well done.Research library upstairs is available and should be visited if you have a relative that served.Pub on the main floor serves the hungry and there gift shop is by no means run of the mill. Memorial gardens gets you out to Chapel too.Enjoy and learn
Great place to learn about naval history
Absolutely full of history you might never see elsewhere.
I took my 5th graders on a field trip. The students enjoyed it, I think I enjoyed it more though. There was a lot of information and interactive things to see, hear, and do. I could probably spend a whole day in there. Very enjoyable.
Great museum. Wish I had more time to see everything. The volunteers well versed about the Air Force, especially about WW2.
This is a must visit place. Not just a few planes. It is a wholly immersive experience that walks you through the history of the conflict and the impact the men and women of the fighter and bomber squadrons had on the war. Very well laid out with room for some expansion. The memorial garden was especially well done with love and respect for those who served and those that didn't make it back. A must see place for anyone who is not afraid to see real history instead of ignoring what is uncomfortable.
Loaded with very interesting content in a good setting. The centerpiece is a nicely restored B-17 that you can get close to, but not inside. My only complaint is that it's a little dark in some places in the main gallery, making reading some of the presentations a little difficult for us older folks.
All the volunteers there were super nice and i would've happily listen to any of them all day. They all had great stories and information you just cant get anywhere else
Great information. A lot of details and artifacts.
They had a very large selection of items with descriptions. It was interesting. I enjoyed it! The people there were kind
Great educational experience for me and my son. I look forward to going back and spending more time to learn.
My 5th graders loved it. The tour was a little long for them but they really were impressed and engaged in the museum.
A great museum just outside of Savannah. We take all of our family and friends here when they visit. Volunteer staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
Great experience for all. Very professionally done exhibits most exploring the Eighth Air Force in WW II.
One of the best museum experiences I've attended. Very well thought out and done. Brings the past to life!
Was wonderful, to see the history on a real life through armas, explanations, aircrafts, never in my life...! The old men's attention was excellent.
This place has so much history including theater is amazing really gives a good perspective great place learn about WWII
Wonderful all inclusive place. Fine aircraft examples
Wonderful museum! (Desk staff a bit surly)
Love that place and Miss Sophie's. A delight for sure. So much history.
This is a gem. Plan on about 2-3 hours and definitely do a guided tour. The docents are usually air force veterans with great stories about the Eighth Air Force.
Decently Large and full of history. Very well displayed, I felt like I was traveling back in time. Even had a .50 cal video game simulating a B17 gunner. I had a great time with my family. Had an amazing garden for photos
Wonderful! Go on a sunny day as you will spend a lot of time outdoors. Very big with lots of wonderful staff plus a restaurant where you can stop for lunch before continuing. Awesome.
Enough to keep you interested and occupied. Super guides. Nice gift shop and even a cafe that serves restaurant type breakfast and lunch.
One of the best museums for the greatest generation I've ever been in. We arrived a opening time and didn't leave until closing. So much to see and appreciate.
Very delicious thin crust pizza. Its good to call in your orderbecause it an get very busy. Nice environment...
This has been my second time visiting the museum from Upstate New York near the Canadian border and its always friendly and knowledgeable every time I visit. I wish I could share the experience so I took my mother in law and she enjoyed it just as much as I did. The staff are always kind and always very helpful even helped me with my 9 month old baby girl who I also brought but maybe she wont be as fussy when I definitely bring her back when she is older
I went to a wedding there and it was absolutely beautiful the atmosphere was beautiful the venue was beautiful the food tasted delicious the bride was absolutely gorgeous the groom was as handsome as he want to be and I love this couple I really enjoyed myself and I also had a sweet 16 birthday party for my daughter one year here at the mighty 8th and I don't have anything negative to say about it it was all good. Great people with really good Southern Hospitality I love it I wouldn't have it any other way
