Paul Bunyan was a great show and the best I’ve seen here yet. I’ve been 4 times now for various events with my daughters. This is an interesting and unique place that is supporting and teaching about this wonderful art. Go!

Marianne Kaleida

Fantastic preschool play! I was apprehensive about taking an almost 4 and not quite 2 to their first performance (1 hour). I need not have been. The almost 2 was enraptured! The Not quite 4 was following the story. The performers did a great job interacting with the audience and tuning out disruption. We will definitely come again. The exhibit space is bright and great for this age group as well. I appreciate the mix of Dark Crystal with lighter creations so that nobody is scared of the display. There is a separate Dark Crystal room which has more of those kinds of creations. All in all, great space and good programs!

Jessica Prestridge

A little pricey but we had fun. Went with a school field trip and after paying admission, we were going to be charged an extra $15 for the museum per person. My little one enjoyed it and so did we though

Wing Ojanen

So much fun! A walk down memory lane. We are not into puppetry, but had a great time at this museum.

Amanda Mignault

Such a variety of artifacts from the era of puppeteering. Really tells the story of their development over time. Loved the Jim Henson stuff!

Xavier King

The Center For Puppetry Arts is a fun place for kids, adults, and adults who are kids at heart. It is a museum in the typical sense. They show puppets from around the world and throughout time. Some spots in the world section are interactive. Such as the dragon fight and the shadow puppets from Asia. The Jim Henson exhibit will take you back to your childhood and remind you why you love puppetry in the first place. When I went there was the special Dark Crystal exhibit. You'd be amazed how big the puppets are. There's also a theater for puppet movies and shows. Classrooms for making your own puppets and they have a kids program and tour. There's something for everyone to enjoy there.

Yo-Ling Chang

There're a great collections of puppets and screens showing puppet shows from all over the world. Of course, there are Big Bird and puppets from Sesame Street. Today, we also saw a wonderful puppet show from Taipei Taiwan, A Chance Encounter. There's no worry of language barrier, because there is no talking. Through the detail actions of puppets and music, the audience enjoyed the show in great deal. There are only three shows offered. Don't miss your chance of encounter!

Chris Musson

An Atlanta cornerstone. I've been coming here ever since elementary school and most recently saw Ashes. Always a great time.

Darren Neal

We love this place I would consider becoming a member just for the behind the scenes info. Parking is a little tight but manageable. After the show you are taken upstairs to build a puppet. It’s really cool If you have older kids they might enjoy the puppet Museum but you can skip it with younger kids

My wife and I went to the Center of the Puppetry Arts for our one-year anniversary, and loved every minute of it the staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and it was obvious that everyone working there enjoyed being there. The displays are well presented, the areas are spotless. The respect that this place has for the creations within is apparent, and everything is presented in a way that lets you know, on first impression, how important everything in there is. We went while their Dark Crystal exhibit was opened, and just seeing Aughra or the Skeksis Skekung from around the corner, made my heart skip. Jim Henson is one of my greatest inspirations, whether it be in my puppetry, my writing, my art, and they presented him on a pedestal of respect and admiration. The experience was near flawless. If I had to complain about one thing it would be that the display glass was so clean it was shimmering and reflecting things making it difficult to get good angles on the pictures. My wife and I will be going back, and next time we may take the entire family.

Ross Wells

A trip down memory lane. Great exhibits. Maybe not so great for young kids. To fully enjoy it, you need to take your time and read the info on the displays.

Amber Harris

I've now been twice, once in the older smaller building and now in the renovated building with the Jim Henson wing. The amount of displays and information is great, and it is all so fascinating. A great place to kill a couple hours by wandering through.

William Ellis

BThe most amazing puppet collection i have ever visited. The friendly knowledgeable staff made my experience even better.

laura marsh

The show here has always been phenomenal. However, at times, the help and the museum were nothing to write home about. Now the museum is home to the Muppets. It is as cool or better than the show itself. Any Muppet fan will enjoy seeing how they are made, old original puppets and even taking pictures on a mock set. Can't wait to go back!

Marisol Ortiz

Both Children and adults can enjoy a nice time. It was fun to see so many kinds of puppets. My nephew visiting from PR liked it very much. So did I. You can purchase a ticket or check out a library pass to go for free. It was fun to stand in front of a monitor and make our own puppet show imitation. You can let go and be a kid for a while.

Clifford Eiffler-Rodriguez

In absolute love. Staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. A gem in the middle of downtown Atlanta. Plenty of parking, a play structure for kids. 2 standing exhibits (Jim Henson and puppets of the world) and a rotating exhibit (featuring "The Dark Crystal"). Well worth the price of admission. Plenty of interactive elements and the wealth of information available is fantastic. This isn't even digging into their theater and classes. Recommend highly to anyone visiting the area.

Sian Cooley

Loved the Jim Henson gallery worth it for that alone.

Adam B.

came out of town for a voice acting conference and decide to stop by this before the conference starts in a guy say it's amazing to see how much work Jim Henson did and how other puppeteers put into their craft.

Margie Summers

I really enjoyed the Jim Henson Exhibit and had a great tour from Elizabeth. Got to see some of my childhood friends, like Kermit and Big Bird, just to name a few.

Angela McNair

Great exhibits and helpful staff! Recommend getting free passes from library for museum only. Not sure how good the performances are.

Sean Woods

Always love visiting here. Great!

Lisa Howard

We went for the first time today. The Beauty and the beast show was so we'll put together. We really enjoyed the museum. Especially the Jim Henson section with all of my childhood favs from sesame Street to labyrinth. The Dark Crystal special exhibit was so interesting as well as the chance to build your own puppet.

Jessica Booger

An amazing and friendly place full of interesting exhibits and home to many great events. Great for children and nostalgic adults!

Zaiah Calvin

We went for the first time today. The Beauty and the beast show was so we'll put together. We really enjoyed the museum. Especially the Jim Henson section with all of my childhood faves from sesame Street to labyrinth. The Dark Crystal special exhibit was so interesting as well as the chance to build your own puppet.

Laura Michelle

Love this! Such an great experience for the whole family! May seem a little pricy, but honestly I love helping to fund the local art. They had an amazing exhibit! Can’t wait to visit again

Alicia Fletcher

Harold and the Purple Crayon was lovely. Students from BPA contributed beautifully.

Eduardo Icaza

Enjoy one of the unique museums in the world devoted to puppets. The exhibits display puppets from all around the world. There are also special events...and exhibits. The museum is relatively small but worth visiting. I felt like in a time machine.

John Conrad

If you are in any way a fan of Jim Henson, The Muppets, the Dark Crystal, or if you grew up watching Sesame Street, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Marty Danceva

If you want to visit a museum that is unique, you should see this place. We enjoyed the exhibits here and the performances. We would love to go back again.

Sandra Hughes

A local, national and international treasure. The museum exhibits are all exquisite. The Jim Henson exhibit is extensive, delightful and insightful. There are live productions for all ages as well as workshops and related film screenings. A remarkable Art Center made possible by the Visionary leadership of Vincent Anthony.

Karin Stern

A real Atlanta treasure. The Muppets exhibit is fascinating, and the productions are always charming and entertaining. Great fun for youngsters and the young at heart!

Liam Hislop

Great history of puppets, and great if you love Jim Henson

Michael Snipes

When you are in Atlanta you must take the time to go here. If you’re Gen X, every Henson muppet you e wanted to see in person is here! They have a killer Dark Crystal and Labyrinth show going on. This show will blow your mind and bring a tear to your eye!

Eva Grammer

Great exhibit on Jim Henson and on The Dark Crystal, not to mention puppets from around the world! If you're a Dark Crystal fan, don't miss it!

Frank Strunk

Magical place if you want to lose yourself in the history and world of puppetry. I've been four times and just love it. So well put together and the puppet shows are lovely. Great gift shop too.

pavan Parikh

Good building and all. Content is not much for everyone. Good for sesame Street lovers

Julie H

Some neat, well-designed exhibits showing the history and vast culture behind puppetry arts. The staff left a lot to be desired. Different people had different answers as to where events were happening. We opted to pay more to make our own puppet and see a little show, neither of which were worth it. They both ended at 3pm and we arrived at 230pm but no one told us the times were conflicting and we wouldn't be able to do both. The "show" was not very good. One of the two ladies had great enthusiasm, but she was trying to talk over an audio visual exhibit right next to them so the kids were distracted the whole time. Her partner, with the puppet, was not good with the puppet at all. So much potential! The Jim Henson exhibit, for someone like myself born in the 80s, was very cool and nostalgic! Lots of the main characters, like Big Bird, and the little workers from Fraggle Rock. They also had some neat things for the kids to play with in this area, like puppets and books.

Alicia Guice

My students and I truly enjoyed the recreation of their version of Beauty and the Beast. It was hilarious and modern!

Ted J. Spetnagel

Saw Harold and the Purple Crayon, it was great. Adults should plan to spend three hours at the Museum.

Brittny Wood

I live this place and have to stop by everytime I visit Atlanta. It's such a unique and well-ran museum with interesting events and displays. The museum is small, but there is still a lot to read about, interact with, and see. Expect to spend no less than an hour here. On average, I make it through the entire museum in about 2 hours. I'm a huge fan of Jim Henson and primarily come here for the special exhibitions for the Labyrinth and Dark Crystal. I'm never disappointed, as there is always something new to see! The exhibitions are unique and it's so wonderful to see the craftsmanship up close. Coming here is like being transported back to my childhood. I recommend visiting this museum for adults and children, as it can be enjoyed by all ages!

David Hector

Wow, just wow. Must go and take the family, old and young. I had no idea it was there! My wife and kids had been a few times before with field trips. We got tickets to see Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, final performance. I was shocked it was so good and well done. I guess I was expecting something more basic, this was anything but basic. The show and museum are great!

jL Reed

If you have ever seen anything Muppets, you'll love this place. A great experience, especially for families.

Manali Patel

We had a great time! Learned a lot about the puppetry arts when we took the behind the scenes tour.

Kristen Sykora

Great experience with my son's class! We made a paper puppet and saw a great little show.

Sha'ul #BOR

Me and my son always have fun at the Center for puppetry arts with the shows and the different museums they have.

Cbamine

Great venue, awesome staff. Reasonable priced, great seating. Highly recommend.

Shere Henrici

I was expecting a more comprehensive history on the art of puppetry and a museum about all puppetry, but this was all about Jim Henson and his creations. While interesting it was lacking. It should be called Center for Jim Henson Puppetry Arts.

B C

Fun for kids. They had a number of pupoets from shows I had seen as as kid. So, brought up lots of good memories.

Maurice McFarlane

They love puppets and so do I. Great place for the kids with a variety of activities including shows, workshops, and of course the museum. For the parents, if you grew up watching Sesame Street or The Muppets, this place is as close as you can get to time travel. I've literally seen grown men turn 4 as they round the corner and see Big Bird staring down at them. Totally, unequivocally...epic.

Toni Hammond

Amazing! I took my grandson on an Atlanta adventure, while he was visiting. We ended up here and so happy that we did!! It is an incredible learning place for children to still use their imaginations!! The staff was so friendly! We had an awesome time!!!!!

Juli Juli

They move around exhibits often enough to warrant many visits. The Henson exhibit was really interesting. I also loved reading all of the little signs and watching the videos. I wish the gift shop sold more interesting types of puppets, but it is overall worth checking out.

Paula Rodriguez

We LOVED it! Kid friendly, entertaining, clean and overall a fantastic experience! We saw the farm show and it exceeded my expectations completely. My 10 month old and my 2 year old were so entertained the entire time. We will definitely be back!

Amy Kugali McWilliams

This place is magical! So much interactive fun for all ages

Stuxnet Home-Group

Cool and unique little museum. Not too expensive, but probably wouldn't go more than once per year. The displays are full of information and the Jim Henson m/puppets are the best. Don't expect to spend more than about an hour here though unless you plan on seeing a puppet show. Here is the main reason I took one star off. This museum [was] part of a program that gives free admission to Active Duty service members between Memorial Day and Labor Day. For some unknown reason the museum has backed out of the program and hasn't informed anyone. I'm not a douche canoe who's gonna raise a fuss in the museum, and honestly $12,50 for a ticket isn't going to break the bank for me and my two kids, but still kinda messed up that they changed their participation in the program without telling anyone. That being said, still go! It's worth the visit. I didn't take any pictures that you can't find anywhere else in Google Reviews, I'm just posting these for the points

sarahmcgr

delightful and lots of cheap package deals! sweet staff.

Ramprasath Tharmarajan

Very good collections on worldwide puppets. Surprising to see that puppets are not just toys and one of the cultures. Indian and chinese collections are awesome.

Evie Abat

Very interesting museum for all ages! Stay for the puppet show after checking out the displays!

Kris Rollins

What a great experience. This is a true treasure that will bring back lots of memories, while also preserving them for another generation. The Jim Henson side of the museum is incredible. This is a great place to spend a couple of hours and well worth the price of entry!

Kayjay Len

Your kids will love it!

aaron sorrels

I have witnessed the most professional puppet show anyone can witness. Magnificent job with creating a one of a kind realistic experience. Bravo....Bravo....Bravo....if you haven't ever been here this is a must must must!!!

Kara Hauser

We drive down from Charlotte just to visit! The Jim Henson exhibit is wonderful, and the Sesame Street set is always fun to play on. My son enjoys seeing Big Bird and I always enjoy taking a trip down memory lane looking at the Fraggles and Labyrinth displays.

Brad Strickland

Wonderful, magical performances and a Jim Henson museum too. Award-winning directors and performers Tim and Amy Sweeney hold magic in their hands. Atlanta is lucky to have them and the Center!

Ryan Ogilvy

Spectacular great history of pupettry!

Robert Henning

An amazing collection of Jim Henson's work.

Chloe Spencer

Wildly fun, filled with a lot of fascinating exhibits. Great for families, but anyone can find something to enjoy here.

Marti R

The Jim Henson exhibit is awesome.

Kristopher Hall

The Metropolitan Museum of Art asks for a suggested donation of 25.00 per adult to visit. The High Museum of Art is 19.50. The Atlanta History Center plus 3 other properties is 21.50. The prices for children are all less. The Center for Puppetry Arts is 25.00 regardless of age. This means that a family of 4 will have to pay 100.00 for an hour long puppet show--and let's face it, it's only for the kids anyway. This seems ridiculous, especially since it receives millions in donations and funding each year, some of it from the government. Don't get me wrong, it is a great and worthy project, but if it becomes financially burdensome for families to attend then how good is it? Not to mention they spend 750,000 a year for administrative expenses at a place that uses volunteers for many of the services. If you can't run a puppet show and a four room museum of donated items for 4 million a year, then maybe there is a problem. Update: The price has raised to 29.00. I guess they weren't quite cutting it at 25.00.

David Morgan

Cool museum. The kids really enjoyed it and the staff was friendly. Doesn't take too long but there is plenty to check out.

Sara Ortiz-Romero

We had a great time at the Center for Puppetry Arts! It’s a very special museum as it is so unique. We also went to Beauty and the Beast show which was very fun and creative! At the end of the show they explained how they did it (awesome) and we all went upstairs and the kids made this fun craft of the beast! That part was very organized and the kids had a blast. One minor inconvenience is that since the sections of the museum are separate rooms they keep asking for the tickets. So keep them handy at all times because if you misplace them in your purse or lose them there may be a hold up. Other than that it was an awesome time!

James Campbell

Good Jim Henson exhibit. The world selection is interesting.

eS Be

Amazing little place. I could spend all day in there. They have regular Jim Henson displays. Worth checking out..

J

The staff is great. The puppet show and displays were awesome.

R Chari

Very enjoyable. We’d never been to a place like this, unique museum that you don’t typically find Our kids enjoyed the family series show (The Joshua Show) and creating a puppet after. Took about 1/2hr to 45 minutes to go through the exhibits after so it was a good 1/2 day activity. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Michael R

Very cool museum... Well laid out and informative.

Rebekah and Sadie Berman

We had a blast today! My daughter (6), and I , enjoyed the Beauty and the Beast performance as well as all of the exhibits and the make your own puppet area! This was our first visit and everything was so well done. We can't wait to return .

Haylee Anne

Completely underrated attraction in Atlanta. Incredible collection and great place to bring kids, a date, or OOT visitors.

Eric Knapke

What an amazing experience. Not much else to say other than this is a true treasure and will no doubt bring back plenty of memories for many while also preserving them for another generation. The Jim Henson side of the museum, in particular, is incredible. The amount of time they have spent to tell his true story and build exhibits that are as true to original as possible is incredible. This is a great place to spend a couple of hours and well worth the price of entry!

Alicia Kennedy

Oh my God this place is wonderful. If you grew up with Jim Henson's world it's a great nostalgia trip plus there are fabulous exhibits about the global history of puppets

Ashleigh Dunbabin

The place is ok. My 4 year old son wasn't too interested, but maybe older children may have more fun?

Emma Connell

Very very cool, a must-visit in Atlanta. We were especially excited by the Henson wing. Such a unique experience celebrating an underappreciated artform!

Jeffrey-Michael Kane

We've been members for ten-plus years. This is the single-best cultural destination for families in Atlanta.

Mark L.

Had a great time seeing the Rudolph show and visiting the Henson exhibit as well as creating a puppet in the upstairs areas.

campbekel

The most friendly staff ever, you can tell they love what they do. Remarkable programming, performances, educational workshops, and spectacular exhibits. I legit cried going through the current Dark Crystal exhibit and permanent Jim Henson exhibit. If you are a puppet nerd like me or have any appreciation at all, this is a "must see!" for any trip to Atlanta!

Hilary Evans

We came for the Dark Crystal exhibit and enjoyed every exhibit they had. It was great fun to see Sesame Street puppets in person and to learn about how they were made and used. Great place for both children and adults; there is something for everyone here.

Eric Bond

Very interesting. Be prepared to linger. If you're a Jim Henson fan, this is the place to go.

Tonka 1675

Fantastic exhibits and well worth the money! Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Can't wait to go again.

Westley Hollamon

A magical place in Atlanta! Great value, I don't know if they lowered their prices (what seems to be the complaint for most reviews), but 12.50 is a great value for what you see. The history and world puppetry exhibit was informative and interesting to see how puppetry is used around the world to tell stories. The Jim Henson collection was amazing and well done. We got to see all of the iconic characters from fraggle rock, the Muppets, dark crystal, and of course Sesame Street. It is a great way to preserve the legacy of an amazing artist who has touched the lives of many with his medium. The dark crystal exhibit was very cool, telling of how Henson formed the story and puppets seen in the film. Could not recommend more!

S Smith

The center and museum and show are great however the staff are rude. First visit and last visit. Your staff may need a little training on courtesy and keeping their hands to themself.

Doug Piette

We had a GREAT time today! Wonderful museum and puppet show. We will definitely go again when the grandchildren are in town.

Hannah Ferrell

Came here to see the puppets behind MST3K. I felt like a child again in wonder of all the different puppets and displays they had. I'm excited to come back for all their events.

Roxanne Ledesma

I love this place and the mission. The shows are great.

Nathan Garrett

Amazing selection of puppets and educational materials about puppetry. Something for virtually any fan of puppets from past to present. The Jim Henson exhibit was great!!

Maxene Boland

The Urban Sleeping Beauty was very well done. Even my 9 year old grandson found it humours. The Puppet Museum was excellent.

Carol Subino Sullivan

This is one of Atlanta's best treasures! The Jim Henson collection is like going on a walk through my childhood in the 80s. My 18 month daughter was also delighted by the sesame Street characters, Muppets, and Fraggles. The world puppet exhibit puts this art form into context and lets you appreciate how deep and diverse this practice actually is. And the special exhibit hall currently features the Dark Crystal, which is a masterpiece. I'm looking forward to seeing a show when my daughter is a little older. If you at all enjoy puppets, go. You will be glad you did!

Victor Anaya

Plan your visit to the Center for Puppetry Arts around the Museum’s performance schedule! The museum is nice—small but interesting—but the highlight of our visit was seeing the puppetry performance in the theatre. During our visit Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was playing; the sets and projections were lovely, and the puppets were beautiful, performed by a talented cast. They also gave a short demonstration of how the puppets worked, which was great for the young folks in the crowd. If I lived in Atlanta, I would make sure to see every show at the Center because of such high production values!

Cyrus Bazeghi

We saw the beauty and the beast puppet show and it was amazing. The museum alone was worth coming for! All the best of Jim Hensen. Fantastic!

Charlie Ray

My Daughter totally digs the Dark Crystal exhibit and all the rest of them for that matter ....

Benita Duling

Fun and great for the entire family. Had a great time at " Click, Clack Moo...Cows that Type" (one of my son's fave books). Such an interactive show rhat engaged everyone. You can make your own puppet after the show, if you can follow the instructions; admittedly, I am not extremely "crafty"! The museum is fascinating, with one side dedicated to the career of Jim Henson, the other to international puppetry. The playground isn't open as it is being refurbished. A visit is a great way to enjoy a Saturday with the little ones!

Nicole Neill

Wonderful place for families. Truly a special experience. Highly recommended!

Vanya Foote

Such a unique place! My son has loved every performance we've gone to (and enjoys creating his own puppets) and we're fortunate to have this organization here in Atlanta. The membership is so well worth it!

Julie Wells

Tiny Doors Atlanta. Treasure hunt around the Atlanta area. Find all 15. Fun to add to your things to do. Google and find a map of Tiny Doors Atlanta.

Elizabeth Aldridge

My family and I loved it here! Such a neat place to take the kids and lots of nostalgia for the adults too!!

Sarah Campbell

Had the best time here! We arrived after 1 which was perfect bc the school children had just left leaving us plus two other groups the only people in the museum. The Jim Henson section is really interesting as it goes through his life and how things evolved over the years. There are several Muppets on display so it was cool to see Kermit,Miss Piggy, etc close up. The Dark Crystal exhibit was small but so worth it. That's worth the ticket price right there. The only bummer was the World of Puppetry side which seems more like an afterthought and would benefit a re-design.

Anjelica Timms

Such a fun place to visit. Staff are fun and lively. We always have a great time.

Wes Human

Great place. So cool to see puppets from around the world. And the Jim Henson exhibit is amazing.

Kimberly Gross

One of my favorite places on Earth They always have fun interactive activities planned as well. the tiny door outside is really neat to see as well!

Debbie Wade

Great place for kids! My granddaughter made a puppet in a workshop and we watched a terrific puppet show. Very dedicated people work here!

Angela Forbes

I felt like I was reliving my childhood here! The puppet show was clever but not super exciting. My daughter seemed to like it.

Beth Stone

O M GOSH !!! This place is GREAT!!! I came in from Nashville for the meet and greet with Joel from Mystery Science 3000. The center was full of really nice employees, many who went out of their to make the event enjoyable for everyone. I am very grateful to the people that took the pictures mine was fuzzy and they were nice enough to let me get another one. The food they served was so much more then one would think.. We had salmon, roast beef, and many other great items. The cash bar was a great price too. Thank you for such a great experience!!! Now I want to be a friend and help with your next projects

Cristina Gonzalez

What an amazing museum! We went to a performance of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and it was like the original tv version came to life. I like how the puppeteers showed and explained each puppet after the show. The Jim Henson and Dark Crystal exhibits were my childhood come to life and it's incredible moving to see your favorite characters up close.

olivia B

Love it so much!!! Seeing all the Jim Henson creations was so awesome, the Dark crystal puppets were especially cool.

Steven Bell

Really fun place to spend the day. So many childhood memories came back during our visit. Behind the scenes look at the puppets and how they are made alive. Activities for the kids too. Has a playground and limited on site parking.

Kellie Mosel

Cute puppetry arts museum and theater. The workshops are creative and fun.

Lindsey Watkins

Beautiful exhibits. Super informative. Great for all ages. I especially loved the Jim Henson exhibit, it's put together so well.

Gerrit Theule

So fantastic! The general collection is neat to see, and the special exhibitions are also great. The crown jewel is the Henson section. If you are even a little bit of a fan of Sesame Street, The Muppets, Fragle Rick, or anything Henson this is your pilgrimage.

Jonathan Strickland

The Center is a wonderful institution. The children's programming is top notch, but the Center also reminds us that puppetry is an art form that can be used to tell many different stories, from the terrifying to the heartbreaking to the transformative. Some of the best performances and technical theatre work in Atlanta can be found in their productions. They frequently host guest performers from distinguished theaters. And the museum is not to be missed. Highly recommended.

jesper

Nice museum for young and old people. The famous puppets are cool

Ryan Baum

Puppetry, as an art form, is loved by people of all ages, backgrounds, and circumstances. The Center gives an inside look into how characters can be brought to life by creative minds and talented performers.

Sarah Hanson

Sounds a little nerdy but the exhibits and activities make this a really cool and interactive museum. Highly recommend!

Nora Sullivan

My baby had a fun time. The puppet show was very impressive.

Christy Lynn

The entertainment was most delightful & staff was absolutely wonderful! My only minor complaints were tight seating (I was literally pressed against the stranger beside me) & the smell in the upper level theater. I'm guessing both are because the room is primarily intended for children, but it dampered my enjoyment of the show. My sense of smell is unusually strong, so it's likely not noticeable to most (my friend didn't seem to notice), I'll just have to remember to bring a scarf next time.

N Williams

I liked this. I came with my daughter and her school and enjoyed.

C B

Really great performers and kind staff! Great place to take your family! A true Atlanta classic! Fun for all ages. Clean building and restrooms.

Tammy Vo

It’s a so boring place. My two kids wanted to leave after the museum tour, but we waited for the show. The show was nice, other than that, nothing is interesting here. My two year old needed the ticket for the museum and the show too. Three of us $75. It’s not worth it.

Andrew Gomes

If you deeply respect the work of Jim Henson than this is a must see. Small but packed with forgotten treasures

Rob Pancake

Place was SO AWESOME. great for a day trip into the city.

Allison Endicott

What a fabulous experience! I took my 7-year-old to Click Clack Moo and he was enthralled the whole performance. I thought it might be too young for him but he loved watching the puppeteers and set changes. He was so excited to make his own cow puppet after the show, too! We visited the museum afterward where he was most interested in the stop-motion exhibit. Absolutely worth a visit!

Kadra Ramsey

I love all the scenes and puppet history! Jim Hensen was a genius!

Shane Aldridge

A bit of nostalgia for adults and some interactive stuff for kids. Decent price and good parking.

Bryan Dawson

Wonderfully done performances. Entertaining for all ages.

Steven Jew-Jitsu

Such a lovely museum.. the Jim Henson exhibit is great, but so too is the history of puppetry.

Joshua Hester

Always something amazing playing. And awesome museum!

John Croddy

Fascinating selection of puppets from around the world. They did a nice job of providing history and context for each puppet.

Rabid Mayday

Wonderful place. Thank you guys for all that you do!

Ramona Walsh

We love center for puppetry arts. They have amazing shows with such energetic actors and the backstage team! The shows are typically 4 and up, however our 3 year old did great with them. They do have free parking if you can get there early. If you plan to attend 3 or more shows per year, it’s worth getting the annual membership.

Mai

This place hits you right in the childhood! I loved it and small kids who are familiar with Sesame Street, Muppets, or popular movies with appreciate it.

Lydia R. Mitchell

Pretty neat ATL gem. The behind the scenes tour is a bit much for wheelchairs, but you can make it with some strength.

Brad Pemberton

If you are a Jim Henson fan this is a must-see. A little pricey for the size of the venue. Exhibits are top notch and there are workshops for extra fees available as well. Super fun for kids of all ages!

Judy Morgan

Can't believe I've lived here so long and just now went....serves me right that they had no more tiny Kermits!

I actually want to give it a 2.5 star rating. There were two issues about this museum. 1st, my friend told me the puppetry in Taiwan nowadays has been more modern and fantastic than the display in the museum (more like 50 years ago). As a professional puppetry museum, I would expect them to exhibit the accurate info instead of misleading the public. 2nd, we were the second family into the theater, and we were not allowed to choose our own seats. (It's first come first served.) The excuse was they need to use every seat since it was going to be full. But this excuse was not true: 1. Not every seat was occupied eventually. 2. There was no conflict between let us to choose seats and fully utilized the capacity.→ I'd strongly suggest them to get advice from Atlanta Botanical Garden for improvements.

A dynamic and diverse place with lots to do and see. Make sure you check out a show!

Such a great stop! The Jim Henson & Dark Crystal exhibits were excellent. Very informative and featured so many wonderful characters. Also really enjoyed the videos of different performances from around the world. Very intriguing. Would recommend

MY SON AND I LOVED THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST PUPPET SHOW

I remember going in field trips in elementary school to the Center. We took my 4&6yo kids for the first time last weekend and it was even better than I remembered! They enjoyed the museum, make your own puppet, and the show. I am thrilled we still have a place like this in Atlanta! Parking was so easy in their lot (no charge) compared to other places we visit in midtown. We will be back and hopefully getting a membership!

I loved this place. We took our 9 year old and she loved it too! They have different sections of puppets. The best was the Jim Henson collection and the dark crystal display. If you are a movie buff you will love this!!!! All of it brought me back to my childhood. Great place!

Cute little museum but a little pricy for the amount of time we spent there

Wonderful experience, a chance to see puppets from all over the world and time. Humans have a rich imagination and we should all see how they have impacted entertainment over centuries. Seeing the Henson exhibit was wonderful.

My son loves the Rudolph show. Friendly staff, great shows. Always try to support as it's really a fun place for my toddlers

We go often. Great puppetry and the shows are aligned to the time of the year (eg Christmas)

Fantastic adventure for the family, I was able to relive my childhood with my own child right beside me!

Always an immense pleasure to visit. The museum alone is always phenomenal and whenever I have tickets to a show, I make sure to arrive early because you get free museum admission with show tickets. The show's are always top tier, whether made in house or from a travelling artist. One of the greatest injustices of my life is my not having discovered this amazing resource sooner.

Fascinating exhibit-multiple puppets from various TV shows and movies throughout the years. Parking is a bit limited so try and arrive early in the day if attending a special exhibition. Probably not the best place to take very young children-but once they are pre-k and kindergarten age they should enjoy. The center also has a crafts room where (presumably) kids can put together their own puppets. Also a good networking place for others who share an interest in puppetry.

Frankie Story

Cool place if you like the Muppets and Sesame Street. What I grew up on!

Samantha Simons

The Jim Henson exhibit was awesome!! Also I liked that they had an exhibit that showed puppets from around the world. The Japanese puppets are done on water. The Dark Crystal exhibit was cool. It had a lot of details about the movie and the books I'd never heard before.

Wonderful for adults and children. We loved the puppet show, the build a puppet & the museum. It kept our 5 year old twins occupied for a few hours
