Great
The staff was great and personable. It's my second trip and each time I learn something new about my history and ancestors journey to America.
On a girl's trip with my mom and last minute we decided to go there. What a marvelous experience. The way was paved on the back of our ancestors. Even had a history lesson. Will definitely visit again.
A must-see of History and how many women of ethnicity can overcome very powerful
I loved it and I'm happy that black history will continue to be told old or new
A Good Experience!
Great experience and staff very knowledgeable
Knowledgeable staff great location.
Decatur Christian Towers visit Apex Museum and it was very educational, there were many stories of our black culture that we learned and many black people who were famous that we never knew about. You need to spend time to read all the interesting pictures, so don't rush. Also it would help to download Apex App.
Most amazing museum that I have ever seen!
The little museum that could. Small but gives you an overview of the experience of how slavery worked and its affect on those who were forced to come here. Good to do in combination with the Center for Civil and Human Rights.
Great place to visit and learn about African American history. Lots of useful and informative information at this place.
Nice museum enjoy the exhibits.
Lots of history and wonderful staff
The museum is small, but packed with quality information. I was made aware of facts about my African American history that I never knew about! I highly recommend it!
Very informative, our history creates positive growth for all of society.
It wasn't what I expected.
A wonderful place to find the history of Sweet Auburn in the city and discover what it meant for so many people!
Great museum. Staff was friendly and helpful. Women in STEM exhibit was informative and inspiring.
Gives us true history
I really enjoyed it. Staff was awesome and infomative
The APEX Museum is located in the "Sweet Auburn" area of Atlanta. Sweet Auburn was an African American area in Atlanta prior to desegregation. MLK grew up in the area and the Ebenezer Baptist Church is located there as well. The APEX is small which affords an intimate experience. Staff is friendly, helpful, and personable. There are 2 short introductory films and the small museum is filled with information. I would personally recommend the APEX more than I would recommend the new museum in Washington DC!
Very good
The founder, Dan Moore, Sr, and the staff are very professional and personal! Truly a must see!
Wonderful experience, great guided tour
It's a small but powerful exhibit of black history. Staff are friendly and helpful.
The museum is a very good depiction of the African American Experience.
I love museum and where im from they dont really talk muxh bout salvery and what our ppl have do in the past.. So going here was awsome me and bae loved it
Great place to go if you want to learn some black history.
This place is absolutely fascinating and is a must see if in the area. Highly recommend
Lots of history to be learned here. The museum is not extensive nor sophisticated.
Excellent experience. Friendly staff.
Nice Museum. I will visit often.
AMAZING PLACE!!!! WORTH VISITING. WORTH LEARNING ABOUT. Take your cameras and an appetite for truth.
Family came from out of town and we stopped by. Needs to be updated.
I was expecting more knowledge of the the historical place.
Eye opening and enjoyed it
Hi just went in for a meeting but loved the space I was in
The Apex Museum is a great place to learn some history about Atlanta. It's small and not a big place, but it's worth the price.
Great place to learn and grow in our history. A reminder that our history did not begin with slavery.
Wonderful history lesson. Nice way to spend a rainy afternoon with kids.
Black history 5 stars. Learn the past
I love this place. Fun educational place to take the children for a family outing. Great history about Auburn. Paid $8.00 for parking.
Small but filled with extensive exhibits. Very knowledgeable docent.
Awesome! A must visit for everyone.
This is a great place to learn about the history of African Americans in the early 20th century.
Great place to visit alot of history
It was much larger than I anticipated. It needs updating, but that will come with more funding with the planned expansion.
I'm from Florida visiting family for the Holidays and this was on the Bucket List of places to visit on my stay in ATL. We enjoyed the video and the education information. A must visit when you're in Atlanta.
Apex museum, in the auburn area of Atlanta GA. The Sunday me and my family visited was a surprise to me. The museum wasn't much to look at from the outside still it was a cultural experience I will forget. Central located off of sweet Auburn just down street from the King center. The display was very educational as well as entertaining. Not to lessen your experience it opens with a video presentation that sets the stage for a history of the African experience in Ga. This is a must see.
Great Inspiration
I was impressed with learning about how African Americans started businesses on Auburn Street in downtown Atlanta in the early 1900's. The museum also had historical facts about the wealth of Africa, it's Kings and Queens, forced slavery, and the many inventions of African Americans that a lot of people aren't aware of. I really enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who is seeking to educate themselves of real history regarding Africa and African Americans contribution to the United States.
great work space to share
Great little museum! Cheap Groupon tickets.
A historical legend for African Americans. Small but abouslutely amazing. A must see.
Great history, they need a bigger/ updated facility.
The museum is very small and dated (exhibits and films seem to be from the 80s), but the information is good. My favorite parts were the replica of the slave ship hold and the old drug store. It's worth a stop if you're in the MLK Jr national site area and have an extra hour or so, but maybe not worth going out of your way to see.
History at it's Finest
Very informative and impressive
truly enjoyed it. staff very helpful and friendly. exhibits were so accurate. I highly recommend
Great historical information!!
Small but wonderful museum. There is a lot of information packed into the space. The videos at the start of the visit offer a great overview of African American history and commerce in the area and provided perspective when looking through the other exhibits. The exhibits could use a little updating although what is there lays groundwork for reflection and encourages additional study. I highly recommend!
Very educational
Very informative especially about the black history of Atlanta and the staff was very friendly I highly reccomend
Excellent for sharing & learning African American history. Family & large party friendly. Parking was available. Budget friendly & they support military A++
Amazing!
This was an amazing experience and a sad 1. How slaves was tranported.
A bit disappointing. I was expecting a great deal more than I got. Parking was limited. Never knew this place was here in Atlanta and I have been here almost 30 years. The short film was shown on 2 small screen one of which was lopsided and the seats were hard. But without anything else it is a must see for children. But still we rise.
Great place for African American history and culture.
Nice experience. To be having a 40th ANNIVERSARY coming up they need to improve appearance. If you want ppl to take our story our history serious that place should be immaculate especially in ATLANTA.
My daughter had difficulties accepting who she was as a person as our culture. I took her here. The best experience I could've ever gave her and myself. Thank you for showing us the True KINGS AND QUEENS we are !!!
Great experience. Knowledgeable friendly staff.
Very informative. My daughter and I had a wonderful time at the Apex. Felix who works there on Saturdays is very knowledgeable. I work for an agency that provides homes for children in the DFCS system and will bring them to the APEX Museum in the near future.
Great place to learn about black history.
A must see when visiting ATL.
Again another wonderful place to visit in historical Atlanta
Wonderful place for children and adults. Staff was very friendly and professional.
Black history at its finest. Every one should visit the hidden gem in the middle of downtown Atlanta. I lot of black history right here
Nice and good History
excellent place, highly recommended
The history about Atlanta in thw afRican American community is very informative and refreshing
Very first visit with my 10 yr old daughter. She was very impressed. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and my daughter was able to explain to me afterwards what she had learned about her visit. I highly recommend taking your entire family there if your looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon. Very affordable!
All should come and see. Nothing like self education. Blessings to all respective people.
A very enjoyable experience and has some surprising facts you won't learn about anywhere else.
Very informative information everyone should go. A must see!
I enjoy what was there, they can use more exhibits
The people are really nice, and the exhibits are full of detail. If people want to learn more about Atlanta, this is a great place to start.
Very informative
Powerful experience and wonderful people
Cool historical place and they give good insight on the old days!
They have a great Museum. You must visit this place its awesome.
Nice little museum, tucked away.
Thank you APEX Museum for the free admission today. My family appreciated it. Happy Juneteenth!!
I wish that I had more time.
Great place and if you have the right tour guide you will learn a lot.
Small but very informative museum! There is a section with innovations discovered by African-American people, which you can't see anywhere else! Staff is friendly and helpful.
Great experience. Small museum, I hope they expand.
Loved the information and the experience. Will be back.
Education and inexpensive. Love it.
A lot of enlightenment. Travel through the accomplishments and contributions of Africans all over the world from the beginning of time.
Small yet informative
Great experience for the entire family ❤️
I love learning about my African roots!
Great experience leaning about African American history in Atlanta and the Civil Rights Movement.
Great knowledge learning experience
Good place to learn history
Great experience!
Could be bigger and have more information
Really great place. The reception and guide were great. Very interesting to hear the films on our history and the history of Auburn Avenue.
A nice historical reminder of the past struggles of Afro-Americans in their efforts to achieve sociopolitical/economical freedom while under America's form of a apartheid.
As soon as I walked in, I felt as though I was loved. The environment was great and I love how much information was available in and around the building.
The staff are all well-spoken and engaging, considering what they are provided. The staff are 5-star; however, the museum could use some much needed updating and maintenance. Such an important piece of history needs to be shown in a proper environment.
Had a nice time at the Apex Museum. The people were nice! A little small museum, but overall I enjoyed myself. And learned a lot. Thanks to the staff
An African American history museum. Always informative, I brought people I work with here for a field trip and they were not disappointed.
Great experience
Very informing
So much potential to be better, but overall not a great experience
Great customer service, wonderful self guided tour and plenty of information available. I just wish it was a bigger facility to display ALL of our accomplishments and inventions.
Wonderful representation of black history
Me and my family visited Apex Museum 4 wks ago, which is African American Museum It was very educational and the information was well informed anf we did enjoy the tour.
Great information. Great place to visit. Amazing history.
Absolutely loved this place!! I think it should be a mandatory place that every goes to!!! It will change the way you view life. The owner is amazing and kind.
A great place to learn and great staff to learn from.
The REAL history, the one we are not taught at school.
A panoramic view of American history. Excellent museim
Very informative!! The staff was very nice and knowledgeable! We enjoyed it!
It was really informative on how black people were treated.
I love the information I received from this great place. If you really want to enjoy yourself and bring a nice companion to tag along, a great experience is awaiting your arrival. I'm a black nationalist so upon entry, my jaws dropped at how MUCH the black mass has contributed to this tyrant we call America.
The experience was enhanced by the youth group that was touring with us, demonstrating their impact on the community.
AWESOME display of the slave ships, information on prominent African Kings, & inventions by our people. It's worth the small fee to enter!
Interesting place
Interesting and Informative.
This is really a great place for history. I enjoyed the visit and will return this summer.
Man, I went there on a field trip and got a free poster, APEX Museum is poppin!!!!!
I had a great experience at the Apex Museum. The staff are personable and super friendly. I learned a lot about the journey from Africa to America. They play 2 short films to start of the tour and the rest is self-guided. Everyone visiting or living in Atlanta should visit. It’s only $5 for military/veterans and they have a Groupon special for couples and groups! It’s also a small museum but worth the visit. They also have a gift shop.
Phenomenal and very thought provoking!
A must visit. So rich in history & knowledgeable staff members I was even fortunate enough to meeting the own a very Humble individual who knows how important sharing our history truly is Thank U all for everything.
It's is a place of the True History if our People. Thanks
the staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The museum is not huge but has huge amounts of knowledge and history.
Wonder place to learn black history and how we started.
It's a nice muesam to visit. You have to pay for parking.
Would definitely recommend visiting this museum. Serves as a great reminder of things we may have forgotten about and taken for granted, as well as learning new info to make this world and its history make a little more sense. Also, everyone was so nice!
Friendly staff, the museum has plenty of historical information that I wasn't aware of certain events that occurred in the past. Check it out.
It is very educational and very mind blowing experiences to my learning history about my people.
Took my grandkids, they loved it. Learned a lot that they did not previously know. It's a small museum, but a great introduction to our (non slavery) history.
My boyfriend and I visited this museum. I loved the atmosphere and learning about our African history. The staff was very friendly. We also got to take several selfies. We watched 2 10 minute videos that provided a timeline of the African history. I highly recommend this museum to anyone who wants to learn more about the African history.
Rich culture beautiful history on African American inventors
Middle school history projects presented in a poorly lit space.
My wife and I took our children to the Apex Museum one Friday afternoon. Keep in mind that we visited the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute the day before and the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel in Birmingham the day before that. Both were great and obviously sufficiently funded. The Apex Museum is a bit dated and probably underfunded. It has been around for 40 years and has a good message. The videos they show after you pay the entrance fee have good information but technology and attention spans have changed a great deal since 1996 and 1987. The videos were presented very well by the staff member and I feel she could have conveyed the messages better than the videos did. Overall it is worth visiting if you are in Atlanta and have some extra time but by no means would I suggest driving to Atlanta for this Museum.
Powerful experience! What a blessing to have our rich history illuminated in the manner the APEX does!
First time Visit but Will Return, With my Grandson....! God Bless keep the Black History on Top.. Otha,L.
Fix the air and I'll boost it to a five everything else is good the history and the people are awesome and very well spoken
Awesome museum that specifically features African American history and culture. I will definitely come back.
A fun and interesting place to get some history
Wonderful museum. Alot of information and great staff.
Rich in Black history you never learned in school, with proof! Great experience! Will support the cause.
Small but nice interesting
