REVIEWS OF American Prohibition Museum IN Georgia

Family Russell

Exceptionally interesting museum that is wheelchair friendly. Even has a working speakeasy!

Ken Berrocal

So much to look at and read. Loved the part where they have a tour guide explain some thing along with the visual portraits. The bar is way too small. Maybe expanding it or adding an addition bartender would help.

julie Johnson

Entertaining and educational - where else could you see old video of fire and brimstone preacher Billy Sunday and get a drink at the Speakeasy? Learned more than I ever could have wanted to know about prohibition. Worth a stop.

Micah Chandler

This place is very well put together and highly informative. I felt like it was a little too expensive for what it is. The cocktail at the end in the speak easy was delicious, but once again I felt like it was too expensive.

Becki Stallsmith

Worth the visit! Learned a lot ... Very creative museum!

Brittany Hronek

Such an awesome museum with really fantastic artifacts and wax models! Loved the immersive experience and learned so much! Just a word of warning, the speakeasy is closed on Sundays! Still really enjoyed our visit!

Eric Lawson

Very informative and engaging! The staff were very friendly, the exhibits we're entertaining and the speakeasy brought everyone back in time!

Kimberly Caesar

What an awesome time! Educational and ends with a delicious era-appropriate drink (thanks Paul!). Definitely will be returning.

John Pickup

This was a fun time I recommend this to all.

Regina Dawson

Some interesting things to see but a pretty small selection about the prohibition era.

Valerie Hardy

Great information on many facts that were not clear.

Gale Keefe

A good time for all. Ask for the drink option, it will save you a few bucks. The tour was interesting, part guided, parts at your pace. Then you go into a speakeasy, really cool. Very vintage, very tasty. Highly recommend the Artillery punch. Vintage glassware too.

Karen Anne

Great history lesson regarding Prohibition and life back in the 1930's & 40's! Wax figures were amazing and of course ALL of the antique vehicles were restored to perfection! On the way out there is a bar

Sandi C

A local recommended we check this museum out, glad they did. History lesson delivered in a fun way. Wax figures, live actors, a speakeasy bar. We both learned a lot and had a good time.

Corey Bradley

Really pulls you into the time period. Staff and exhibits are fantastic.

Kimberly Daufeldt

The museum is fun and had lots of interesting bits of information, but definitely check out the cocktails in the speakeasy!

Kate Leibfried

A walk through a fascinating chapter of our country's past. The Prohibition Museum was packed with interesting information, visuals, and audio. At one point, a guide addresses the entire group and gives everyone a little additional information. The whole thing ends at a speakeasy, which was very clever. We bought our ticket here as an addition to our trolley tour (reduced price if you do so), and it turned out to be a great decision

James Griffith

The museum was fantastic. Lots of information, neat little stories about Savannah. Great stories about the locals and all the social clubs that were anti alcohol.

Eric N.

Great tour, good for the whole family. I would advise you to skip the drink ticket unless you are ok with waiting in a crowded little bar area for hour; large group with one bartender making complicated mixdrinks takes time.

Samantha Molina

I had a wonderful time with my father during our visit. We enjoyed the history and the wax figures. Good information and subject matter! I would need more time to go and do it all over again though. Thank you for the experience!

Sherry Miller

Didn't think i would like it. Eeehhh. It was AWESOME!!!

Donna H. Pentecost

So unique and interesting...learned a lot and enjoyed the history of that period

Rob Herron

Awesome presentation of an interesting period of American history.

Ella Dickhaus

cute lil place but if dont like history def dont recommend

Steve Dixon

Overall a good way to spend an hour or so in Savannah. There were some interesting exhibits and the staff provided good information. Only issue is the entrance into the first exhibit. It was very crowded and we're not able to read all of the information going up the stairs because of the people behind us.

Kevin Dry

Informative and fun. The bar has some good drinks as well.

loujirizarry77

Very informative and entertaining lesson on American history.

Jason A. Brown

Very well done! Would like to go back and take my time next visit. Plenty to read and check out for all! It was a great vibe and fun to step back in time.

Jeff Beck

We went to the prohibition drinking, we learned since they made mistake warp law. It's very interesting the site

l quinones

This museum is a historical hidden gem. I took my two children to experience the history of prohibition first hand since we had just touched on the subject in school. I was pleasantly surprised by how stocked full of history and information this deceitfully small museum is. There was so much to see and little small surprises in between. We went during the Free Super Museum Sunday so we weren't able to really slow down and get the most out of it but we will definitely go back. What I really appreciate is the use of technology and the props to educate the public. Heads up, the gangster display does depict the aftermath of a bloody shoot out for anyone who has children who are of a sensitive nature.

Jeanie Thomas

A fun and very informative museum. A must see.

Idalis Barnett

Was great but they have a terrible system for getting up and down with a wheelchair or stroller!

The Scarred Actress

I learned so much I never knew! If you're going and plan to enjoy the speakeasy don't go on Sunday! It took us about an hour to make it through (reading all the signs) so it can be a quick stop during your day.

Mark Nealon

It's OK. Hence the 3 stars. It's a small building that you can walk through self guided and be done in 15-20 minutes. It's mostly reading poster boards with a couple of prohibition era automobiles and some wax figures. They'll try to sell you on a old fashioned drink in their "speakeasy" saloon. Pass on this as we waited about 15 minutes for our overpriced drink you can get anywhere. And it was not crowded at all so we couldn't figure out why it took so long to get. Listen, it's not the Smithsonian or the Metropolitan museum of art and they're not trying to be, but for what it is, I'd say pass on this tourist trap and spend the time (and money) elsewhere in Savannah.

Amy J Gauthier

I had a blast here. Take a self guided tour with a little insight along the way from staff. You'll learn a lot plus get to stop midway through the tour and enjoy a classic cocktail. Don't be shy, the barkeep is always happy to answer questions and make sure you get a cocktail you love. Have fun.

Eddie Rausch

Step 1: Clear your entire schedule. Step 2: Make it #1 priority to visit the American Prohibition Museum & Webb Military Museum. Those were the two highlights of our visit to the historic town of Savannah, so make sure to set enough time aside to fully absorb the experience! Absolutely outstanding presentations within the Prohibition Museum Spoiler alert... Great little liquor bar within the museum - to be enjoyed at the end of the tour. The highly experienced bartender put on quite a show!

Chris Williams

This place was awesome! Definitely check it out if your in the area. It's a self guided tour and there's tons to look at and read about. Lots of tv screens hanging up playing short clips. I highly recommend paying for the drink ticket as you go in, the last room of the tour is a bar with a list of drink options you can get with the drink ticket. The bartender is dressed for the time period and is very skilled.

Jason Edwards

A well done informative museum.

Julie Lombardy

Really glad I stopped in. It's easy to find and very interesting to see everything in there.

Luna Bella

So informative, I learned so much about the prohibition I never knew! Excellent displays and there is a speakeasy where you can drink authentic prohibition era beverages. Highly recommended!

Thia Lynne

Quite informative and enjoyable. The guides in costume really helped me feel like I had stepped back in time.

Rachael DuBois

The Prohibition Museum was in the heart of the City Market in Savannah, making it easy to find and convenient. The museum that sells is full of information that my husband and I didn't know before coming into the museum. They had many life-size dioramas of prohibition era historical events. one of these was depicting children, all who were life-size, with buckets made to look like they were collecting the liquor off the streets. Apparently when the prohibition started the police empty buckets of liquor into the streets and parents had their children go and collect the liquor as it ran towards the sewers. They also had life-size figures of some famous gangsters including Al Capone, and the museum attendant, who was dressed in period clothing, asked if my husband and I wanted to use the Tommy gun. if we wanted to we could shoot Al Capone, but he was so life-like that I couldn't bring myself to do it and only shot towards his kneecap. The gun didn't actually shoot anything but it was really heavy and a really cool experience. When we bought the tickets we went ahead and bought the drinks with the tickets, so at the end of the tour we could give a coupon to get a Prohibition era drink. I read a lot of reviews prior to this that talked about how strong the drinks were, but if you're a fan of some of them more classic drinks like an old fashioned or straight up gin martini as well as some other style drinks, then you will appreciate these drinks. They are really good! We had a blast. If you want to order additional drinks while you're there, you can do so at your own expense. after you're done you can go downstairs which leads to a gift shop and shop for some Prohibition souvenirs. Highly recommend visiting this museum!

Jared Hackney

Must see and visit. Absolutely astonishing. Worth the money.

Julio Cantu

Self guided tour that was kinda cool. The staff was really friendly though

susan whitehouse

Great museum . So many interesting things!

Mad C

Loved it! Interesting material in an intriguing layout. Speakeasy was a really fun way to end the tour. Would have loved if the gift shop had prints of the prohibition propaganda posters or period drink glasses like those in the speakeasy.

Neil Wilson

Very interesting time in America and the topic is quite well presented.

nick a

Very interesting and well performed. Better than expected.

Chuck Cohen

A true surprise, well worth the price of admission.

Aubrie Bedell

This is an excellent step back into the past. If you want to go through a period to remember or see what it was like to live without alcohol, they do an excellent job portraying this aspect. The speak easy at the end makes you feel as if you have stepped back in time with 1920 classic drinks on the menu. Well worth it.

Chelsea Smith

Awesome museum! A little hard to find as it’s tucked in with a bunch of other businesses but I’m so glad we went out of our way to find it and visit! All the exhibits are very well done! My only complaint is that we were told we needed to purchase a guide book which was $5 with our tickets and we didn’t even look inside during the tour at all, so it seemed totally unnecessary. We also left the book in the speakeasy at the end so we basically threw $5 away on that.

Elli McGuire

We had a great time! Very charming and funny. The actors were very good and helpful, and had clearly done their work to learn the history back to front. Also, the bartender at the speakeasy inside was CRUSHING it. Seriously, she was amazing. The amount of volume she handled in an impressively short amount of time was amazing and the cocktail was great.

Bridgette Carby-Solomon

Although this is a self guided tour the story of the prohibition era was told bit by bit. The displays are awesome and adequately layed out to tell the story in chronological order. The speakeasy was great.

Ralph East

Excellent replicas of people (wax figures) engaged in various scenes from the time. Very well done, with lots of original pieces, including a whole car! Friendly staff, especially at the bar where they serve prohibition era speakeasy drinks. Highly recommended

Keri-Ann Dunham

Wandering by and it was super hot so we thought we’d duck into an a/c’d museum for a while, we made an awesome choice! Super interesting museum, we’ll done exhibits, knowledgeable docents, and a fabulous speakeasy at the end. Totally worth it!

Jeremy Sheckell

Very cool historical venue. Learned alot. Has cool (somewhat creepy) wax figures, and all kinds of exhibits.

Daria Adams

Loved this bit of history! Highly recommend while in Savannah.

Dottie Jakab

Fun museum. Just know that at the end of it you really don't need to knock. Just open the door, or you'll be waiting awhile, like I did, expecting someone to answer the door.

Pamela Smith

Wonderful staff in the bar below.

Danielle Morehouse

This Museum is a hidden gem in Savannah! The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent performers! The level of detail in the museum is incredible and a lot of fun! I took two of my younger brothers (ages 15 & 17) and we all loved it! The Speakeasy at the end of the tour is Fantastic and was by far our favorite part - the drinks are delicious! We will definitely be going back!

Raymond Flack

The tour was good right up to the end. We both wish we had NEVER purchased the drink tickets. Sitting here for over 30 minutes and STILL WAITING for our drinks. Any bar with service this bad would be OUT OF BUSINESS rapidly. An otherwise good tour experience ruined. I reccomend that you avoid it entirely - if you go anyway don't waste your time in the "speakeasy "

James Phillips

So much fun. Very knowledgeable docents.

Sam Foster

A definite must see when in Savannah. Looked worthwhile, definitely was and much better than expected. Buy the drink tickets out front and save a few $, then pull up a barstool and be entertained in the Speakeasy & watch the bartender do his mixology magic. Delicious drinks. Wish I could have gone to the mixing class. Very thorough exhibits done in an entertaining and interesting manner. Will go back next time in town. (or maybe go direct to the speakeasy...)

Woody Zorn

Fascinating history of the lead up to prohibition. You will be surprised by just how much prohibition affected our country, beyond organized crime. Do yourself a favor and prepurchase one of the classic cocktails with admission.

Ana Melissa Herrera

This is a great place to visit in Savannah. I learned a lot about the prohibition era, and its consequences. Its decoration and mannequin's clothing are really detailed. Loved it!

Carol Dzimitrowicz

They told us when we bought our tickets that at the end we could have a beer free as part of our ticket. They check your ID throughput the process. If you wanted a hard drink you could buy an addition ticket for that. Then when we got to the end we were told that we had to buy any drink. If we miss understood it was not of our making as we asked the question about the drink several times to make sure we understood. Or the bartender is making extra money

Doreen Ryan

It was not what I expected. The wax figures were pretty realistic

Wayne K

Nice walk through of the Prohibition, exhibit are well done!

Matthew Wilber

Well run and informative. Wax figures were haunting...like a boozy trip through time.

Jason Gazaway

This has become one of those things "you must do" that I tell everyone when I hear that they are going to Savannah. (Even for those who do not drink). I have been several times and I notice something new each time. I highly recommend this to everyone. The history is great and the staff is very friendly and entertaining. The speakeasy is the highlight of the tour. If you are looking for something different to do while in Savannah, this is the thing to hit up. You will not be disappointed.

Glen Kauffman

Well worth the money - covered the prohibition era from start to finish with lots of cool exhibits.

bonnie shelhart

A must see! Be sure to catch the flaming drink at the bar! Interesting place.

Janet Watson

It depends on what you expect. It's historic. Presentation interesting, short, but a good length for the material. Speak easy style bar toward the end. I didn't have anything but everyone appeared pleased. All interactions with staff were extremely pleasant.

John steingruby

A cool place on a hot day to grab a vintage drink and take a step back to look and honor our past as a nation. It is a monument proving we all make mistakes to include outlawing alcohol. A very well put together museum with a knowledgeable staff that really strives to give authentic feel, down to drinking out of mason jars and wearing period clothing. A fun little excursion for the whole family.

Michelle Holtmann

Museum is very small. You can easily get through it in an hour. It tells the story of prohibition start to finish. I wouldn't put this at the top of your must see list, but if you have some time to kill it's probably worth it. The cost for two adults was $29, including tax, a bit on the high side in my opinion.

Chasing 60 Degrees

Great display of American Prohibition history. We learned so much. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

Kris Eggleston

Enjoyed the museum very much. It was entertaining, informative and the speak easy at the end made really good drinks.

Brett Russell

Great self-guided tour that's wheelchair accessible. Very interesting pieces and the working speakeasy was a fun bonus. Recommended¡

Angie Krukowski

Very interesting piece of history. The model cars and wax figures were great. I loved all the artifacts.

Jesse Jaye

This was a quick stop walking through Savannah. Nothing jaw dropping. In and out.

Jim Dixon

My wife and I visited this museum while we were in downtown Savannah. It is at the market square. It was well worth the money and we enjoyed the history lesson. While you're there enjoy the market just outside the door. A lot of nice shops and music.

David Harris

Magnificent, totally entertaining and educational.....need to do it again

diesle hardeman

It superseded my expectations enjoyed it.....

Denise Allen

Small kitchy museum with fun exhibits and a tour. There is a speakeasy at the end. You buy drinks with a ticket. It's campy and slightly expensive, but I would do it again

Sarah Lamb

We stumbled upon this place to try and avoid the heat and it didn’t disappoint. What would have made this better was more of a guided tour since there was so much to read it would have been nice to pay a little extra to have someone explain the whole thing to us. The coolest part was the prohibition drinks you can order while in the museum.

Pat Malcuit

Top notch in museum viewing..has a lot of history and the Speakeasy was awesome.

JST KSK

It was fairly interesting and the drinks at the end were both good and unique. It was much larger of a museum than I expected. I would reccomend a visit to anyone looking for something to do downtown in Savannah. The historical accuracy was sloppy in places, though.

James E.

Fun little museum. Takes about an hour to get thru if you read all the plaques. There is a bar at the end of the tour that is really cute.

Rebecca Rideout

kind of lame, had a free ticket with the top on tour. glad I didn't pay

Heather L

It was neat. A little tight in the speakeasy but cool nonetheless.

Matthew Carawan

Fun but got charged full price for a 5 year old to visit, wasn't happy bout that but still fun

Lori S.

Great little musuem detailing the history and events of Prohibition. Stopped in to get a break from the weather and ended up being very surprised. Great detail and lots of info. Neat speakeasy at the end of the tour complete with drinks. This is a self guided tour, but there are several guides inside that have a wealth of knowledge.

Andrew McDermott

Very cool interactive museum that *happens* to end up at a speakeasy bar. Presents a good history of the changes - leading up to prohibition and leading up to the change. Shows the propaganda, the cultural changes, and touches on the surrounding topics such as the rise of Walgreens, etc.

Edmond M

Cool museum with a speak easy inside of it. The only museum I've been to that has had a bar in it.

Ed Carver

Excellent set up. Easy to follow from beginning to end. Very informative. Well worth the price.

Doc Helios

Really cool little museum! If you’re visiting the city, this is one of those “must see” spots. It’s a museum with a lot of text/picture displays with a few cool items. The best part is the small speakeasy at the end with REALLY good drinks. I’d go back just for the cocktails

Clayton Reynolds

After 11 years of living in Savannah and returning for a visit, I am glad that they are adding more interesting exhibits and museums, such as this one. Incredible, rare artifacts and antiquities. Even, the speakeasy was incredible with old relics and the feeling of going back into time. I would have enjoyed working as a tour guide in this exhibit. The clothes, history, and it's appreciation. Next time, I would love to go to just the speakeasy, the drinks are fantastic, as our the names they are given.

Mike Wyrick

A very impressive and informative place. The way the history was presented was a great change from a normal museum set-up....The audio visual and digital presentations were very unique, which made the information very entertaining as well as informative.

Eric

Great piece of history. Lots of useful facts.

Deb Clare

Interesting place! Not at all what I expected. Whoever put this museum together was very creative. I thoroughly enjoyed it & didn't really think I would!

Patrick Rock

There's an actual model T inside and a full bottle of Mt Vernon Whiskey, which is cool and there's not much else I can say in this absurd tourist trap's favor. If you're interested in seeing artifiacts and real history this is not the spot tk be. This is more of a prohibition themed Halloween display than a museum. Chock full of mannequins and dioramas, you will find little tidbits of poppy trivia with little substance. I can't say I learned much I didn't already know coming in here and only got a couple of tidbits about Savannah. This is a discount Disney attraction for the tourists. If you want real history, stay away.

Candice Brooker

What museum that ends at a speakeasy bar isn’t the best museum you’ve ever been too? Lol! We had a great time, honestly, learning about the prohibition, but then also celebrating that that’s not the time we live in now

Haunted Heather

We added tickets to this museum at our trolley boarding. What a great decision! This is apparently a very popular attraction, and very worth seeing. It is self paced and FULL of lots of history, historic imagery, wax figures, and even a sit down in the coolest speak easy! Worth the time and money! Excellent!

Lynda Murphy

Very informative a fun interactive experience. I would recommend it to everyone. I learned how the US started with income taxes. UGH!!!! Plus stock car racing. So interesting.

Paul Bellwood

This is worth the visit. Interesting and well done.

Timothy Pitts

The museum is filled with history and style, perhaps one of the best museums that represents the time period and the rise and fall of prohibition. The workers were nice and knowledgeable about the era and the museum tackled different aspects of history, and ended with a bar at the end for good measure. Definitely worth visiting, though make sure you have your ID with you for the alcohol at the end.

Katherine Ferranti

Absolutely fantastic. Not interesting or fun for kids, but super informative and presented in an interesting format for a really good price. I learned so much! Drinks also delicious and a nice addition to the museum.

Alex H

A unique experience detailing he effects of Prohibition on Savannah as well as the whole Nation.. The museum deals with the movement’s roots on the 19th century as well as the 1920s, which my German friends found very enlightening. The highlight of the tour is the speakeasy. The cocktails are professionally made and quite worth the price.

Mary B

Very entertaining, educational and enjoyable. It is a must see and could you spend a lot of time visiting. Very well done. The admission is $14 for adults.

Lauren Jenay

I generally love museums so this was right up my alley. While it's at your own place they do have staff that are in costume that are helpful and add to the experience. I genuinely learned a lot and had a lot of fun.

Christine James

Short self guided tour with the history of prohibition and how it effected the south. Great bar at the end of the tour. Loved the tribute to Nascar's early southern humble beginnings. Well worth the time to visit

Rod Lupo

Great experience. Really gives you an idea of the time. Speak easy was even better

Eric Salberg

Probably the most enjoyable educational museum I’ve ever visited and I learned the meaning of “blind pigs” and “blind tigers”. The full size wax models are very lifelike and clothing and automobiles are correct for the period. In one room “portraits” (which are cleverly disguised tv screens) of a brewery owner and a Prohibition activist argue their views. Short and interesting movies give one an understanding of those times and the huge unintended consequences of prohibition. Although it is widely known that Prohibition established organized crime, it is much less known that income tax never existed before Prohibition and was created as a necessity to replace the taxes previously paid by the brewing industry. Of course the tour ends in a Speakeasy which unfortunately due to left over Prohibition laws cannot sell liquor on Sunday.

chelsy spangler

Wonderful self paced museum. Very informative with the history around prohibition. A must when visiting Savannah

Paul Gillaspey

Really well done. Great memorabilia. Good job of explaining what was going on during that time and the consequences of Prohibition

Dayle Quigley

I learned a great deal and had a good time doing it. The speakeasy however is not 2/3 of the way through the museum more like at the 9/10 Mark.

dcarlso2

Definitely worth seeing. It was a truly interesting time in American history that is still impacting society nearly 100 years later. Don't miss it.

Courtney Woods

Highly recommend getting a drink to celebrate the end of prohibition at the saloon

Jonathan Curl

Very informative but the admission was a little high

mahinder hans

Big name but little to offer

Diane Talmadge

Interesting ... great way to spend an hour. We did not do any tastings at the end because of time, but might do it again just to linger with a sweet tea!

John Darby

Great place to take students to learn about Prohibition history

Kourtney Nunnery

Excellent museum! Stunning exhibits and incredibly friendly staff!

Gareeyasee Saha

I was really surprised by how much this museum in the middle of the streets of downtown Savannah has to offer! They do a really good job of explaining various far-reaching consequences of American Prohibition. Highly recommended!

Ralph Kruse

We are always interested in US History. Prohibition was a very interesting part of our history. Planning on a 30 to 40 minute visit we found ourselves there for over 2 hours! A futile and failed Act that w ou ol never repeat itself!

Erin West

I loved the timelines and all the interactive content. I found the vast array of atrifacts really intriguing and those helped to supplement the overall museum presentations well. The museum is not huge, which is nice, so it is great that it can all be consumed with about 90 minutes or so. The speakeasy is really cute and fun. You walk through it as part of the museum, but it is your choice if you want to stop and have a drink; we did not, but found it to be complementary to the museum overall.

Brad Cowan

We had an awesome time learning about a point in our history that doesn't get taught in schools. The wax figures were very cool, and the speakeasy at the end of the tour was well worth stopping for. I would highly recommend stopping off and checking the place out. Great gift shop, too!

Patricia Hatfield

This museum really had to offer. I thought I knew a lot about the prohibition, until I came here. They had plenty of staff through out the museum to explain the different exhibits and they did a wonderful job of entertaining their guests. The bar in the middle of the museum had some truly unique cocktails. The bartenders serving them had some skills I'd never seen before, and I've worked in restaurants and bars my whole life. I would recommend this as a just see to anyone visiting Savannah.

Shauna Walker

Loved the history, interactive features and speakeasy. Wax figures were nicely done. History was pretty good. Would recommend

Sarah Crise

Very enjoyable. We learned a lot and enjoyed learning it! We went through with our teenagers and they liked it as well. It did not take a long time to go through though there was also no rush if you wanted to linger. There is a lot to read, see and watch. Be prepared to laugh and cringe. We recommend visit.

Kyle Holderfield

My favorite stop so far in Savannah. The wax figures are very well done and the artifacts are very interesting. There were also several interesting video effects in the museum.

Danyell Bieschke

Fun little gift shop where I left way to much money.

David Hoyle

Great lesson on history and

chad mcdowell

Neat shop. Worth stopping in.

Charlotte Kaas Hansen

What an amazing place! Didn't know what to expect as I never knew much about the American prohibition era, but we were blown away. The museum is so well done and the story told on such an engaging way that you're always excited to see what will be in the next room. I had no idea about the impact of prohibition on American society, culture and history, but I really want to learn even more now. Entertaining and educational, the perfect combination. Cannot recommend this museum enough!

Isabelle LAviolette

A little small but still interesting. Learned a few things on the prohibition. If you don't stop for a drink at the end it take 15-20 minutes.

Tiffany Bedell

I was very impressed with this museum. It was very informative without being tacky. Although it is self guided, you do have a couple of employees that provide little information stops. My favorite part of the museum would be the speakeasy at the end. The drinks are delicious and our bartender was extremely friendly and funny. If you come here, definitely buy a drink ticket when you purchase your museum ticket as you get the drink for $8 instead of $10 if you purchase it solo. The speakeasy does open up in the evening as a full bar. Definitely try the Artillery Punch, it's delicious. I do recommend checking out this place.

Emily

As a history buff it was great to see the artifacts and full scope of prohibition presented in a fun and accessible way. As a fan of Tom foolery I appreciated the folks dressing up and giving presentations but sometimes it would tip over the edge into a full on cringe fest. As for for the speak easy portion its as wonderfully decorated as the rest of the museum but good lord are those drinks STRONG. The price is a bit steep (~40 with drink ticket) and I cant say i would go through it again the next time I'm in Savannah

Crystal Courcy

This is a well put together museum with great exhibits. We all enjoyed the visit and learned lots. We added the museum passes into our hop on hop off bus tour and were happy we did. Some great photo opportunities with the kids :-)

Michael Pease

Great museum will a lot of things inside. Slightly pricey at $15 per adult without an alcohol drink or $28 per adult with 1 drink. Lots of interesting things to see and the tour guide inside was funny and knowledgeable. My wife (who normally doesn’t enjoy museums) and I enjoyed it more than we thought we would. Great experience. Definitely recommend.

Thomas Ryan

Awesome tour. So much info and entertaining displays. Cool lil speakeasy and a fantastic bartender

John Orem

A very interesting tour of early 20's America. So many interesting laws and innovations came out of the prohibition.

Margery Gruver

Fun little museum. Interesting information....light reading as you walk thru.

michael sherrill

Great history.. life like figures.. amazing drinks

Guynell Scott

Enjoyed. Soo many old artifacts..loved the

Linda

We loved the Prohibition Museum. We learned many new things. Very well done. We recommend it to adults!

Emily Blumhardt

Honestly, we got semi-suckered into buying the Museum ticket with the trolley tour and we're a little disappointed that we spent the extra $5-$6 each. It was interesting (especially the wax figures) but pretty limited as far as exhibits. There are more impactful things to see in Savannah.

John Nguyen

Great museum! It's on the smaller side, but still great! I say this having visited many of the Smithsonian museums in DC. The American prohibition museum was fun and informative. The displays are very well done. I highly recommend making a stop here while in Savannah.

Matt Barber

If you are in Savannah this is definitely a place you want to check out. Filled with all kinds of antiques, relics, and history that opened our eyes up to a world of information we didn't know before visiting. Fun time!

Darren Smith

So impressed. Not just a tourist attraction. It is high quality, educational and lots of fun. Very much worth the money! Pro tip: please be sure to give it your all when you dance the Charleston in front of the mirror. Trust me. Also AMAZING cocktails in the speakeasy.

Really fun tour. Looks a little cheesy an it is; however, it's full of interesting memorabilia and fun facts about prohibition. The speakeasy at the end was really cool. The decor is awesome and the drinks were so good my mom got 2. Sh'es not much of a drinker. Check it out when you come visit.

A fun tourist spot. It's less of a museum and more of a multimedia experience with interesting little set pieces that tell the story of the prohibition, with an actual speakeasy bar at the end.

I would like to begin by stating that this was a truly memorable experience. I wanted to go because prohibition interests me politically. My gentleman was not interested. However we both came away learning something new and found this to be very entertaining and well worth the money spent on admission. Furthermore, we took the tour on Sunday. The Speakeasy was closed but on Monday they allowed us back in free admission so we could enjoy the speakeasy. They have two menus, a daytime menu that serves prohibition-era drinks, and they night menu that has a different and more extravagant selection. I wanted to try a drink off of the night menu during the daytime. Even though it wasn't available our bartender, Paul served me the drink. we were thoroughly entertained by the service that we received, the museum guys dressed in garb from that era. There are large wax displays and a myriad of information, photography, propaganda and art. This is a staple in the savanna vacation and it comes highly recommended.

Very well done!! The museum is informative and really shows how this period of American History was very influential in so many ways....ie. women's movement, mobsters, NASCAR, speakeasies, politics, personal freedoms, etc.
