REVIEWS OF The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art IN Florida

Vijai Kingston

Very impressive and so much to see. Wish we can still have circus. Sounds like each town's circus back then was a highly well coordinated massive event Art museum was phenomenal too

Erica Roberts

Beautiful! Free to walk the grounds. The plants and landscape is wonderful. Enjoy HUGE Banyan trees. The mansion tour is neat if you have time. The art museum is stunning and free on Mondays. Miniature circus is joyous and educational. All in all very enjoyable!

Becky Walsh

I really enjoyed my visit here. I was hoping to maybe see an old big top tent or more evidence of the circus here but touring the grounds and the house was a fun experience.

Ed Woods

Great place to visit we take all our friends from out-of-state there

Roger Wilco

There's still so much more for me and my family to see. After being gifted memberships by my parents this Christmas, I took one of the tours of the home (an architectural treat) and spent a few minutes exploring the surrounding grounds. There's still an entire museums worth of other things we still need to explore. If you are local and have not yet gone, please do.

Kathy MacLaury

Fabulous glass art. Beautiful venue to see circus performance.

TOUFIK BOUKERROUI

Superb museum. I really recommend this visit, a list see in Sarasota

James Williams

This is our second visit here. Unfortunately, the unfriendly staff was prominent from the entrance all the way to the tour guide. We do not want to come back again. They made us feel very uncomfortable, not welcome, and almost like we were servants visiting a plantation owners house.

Mike&RoseAnna Quinn

We only had enough time to see the art museum, and in my opinion there are amazing Renaissance paintings, statues, building architecture and manicured gardens. So many HUGE works that are 400-500 years old in mint condition. The colors are so vibrant. I'm not an art connoisseur, but I was wowed.

Janet Pietrak

A great visit strolling gardens and eating on the terrace. Great little store also.

Keithian Irby

Such an incredible collection of art and seeing the sheer size of the Ringling Circus in miniature form is pretty spectacular. I can’t wait to go again when the entire museum is open.

Polly Garland

Fantastic! Spent 3 hours here with our 8 and 6 year olds. They loved the model circus and roaming the grounds. Both fans of the Greatest Showman film, so that really helped put into context what they were seeing. Definitely recommend a visit. We didn't pay to go in the Ringling House so can't give any feedback on that. We had a quick look in the art gallery but that was at the end of our visit and by that time the kids had had enough!

Rose Smith

What a fabulous place. Excellent museum and beautiful grounds. Tram cars if you dont want to walk.

Julianne Weinmann

Great show! Nice comfortable venue.

Annie Panov

I absolutely loved this place in Sarasota although I feel that it is not advertised enough for people to visit it. Beautiful, unique grounds you can walk around. The Rose garden is amazing, the secret garden and the Banyan trees. A lot of outdoor sculptures and the Ca' d'Zan it is a true piece of art. The museum of art is amazing (we spent over 3 hours just there). I visited in Jun and the Circus museum was closed for renovation, but I will definitely be back for it when opens. This is a MUST visit location in Florida.

Ken Heitmann

The volunteers at this place really don't like kids. The circus may be the happiest place on earth but not this museum

Karen Rodemaker

Went to the India fabrics show. Wonderful! Amazing work that goes back so far you can't believe the designs and weaving. Only complaint, no seating, benches or chairs. I have a lot of arthritis in feet and ankles so I had to leave way too soon. They really need to consider that with elderly population in Sarasota. Hope they correct that real soon. I'd really like to go back.

Jeff Nehus

Had a blast on National Museum day. Free to get in can't wait till next year

William Dye

One of my favorite places to visit. Great for the whole family. Beautiful Sarasota gem.

Nathan Ramos

This place was so beautiful and so well worth the adventure I took for 3 hours walking around the estate, college and connecting museums. Every one was so helpful and friendly. I would lo e to go again and bring my family. If you are into old historical Florida definitely go. It will take your breath away

Bruce Davison

Fun multifaceted museum with hands on exhibits, original costumes, train cars, art and craftmanship. These are pieces of Americana and fun history. Multiple opportunities; souvenir shops, art shows, tours of the museums and houses, plus a cafe.

Fritz Carter

Great art work. Very knowledgeable staff. Very friendly. Went on a free admission day.

Jeff Dalton

It was interesting, but it was an extensive display of art.

Michael Jackson

Beautiful as usual. Love the asian art exhibit, the Indian fabric exhibit is interesting. The gallery always takes my breath away

Lou Vamvakaris

Nice if you like Italian paintings, I was more impressed by the architecture, flooring amd stone work.

mark levenson

So far unbelievable, realy loved it wish my the Circus still existed

Tracy Everdale

I love this place and come here any time I'm in Sarasota. It's FREE to get in to the art museum every Monday! The building itself is amazing, the art collection quite comprehensive. The Asian art galleries are so peaceful and interesting, especially due to the age of some of the ancient pieces on display. I definitely recommend going in the morning before it gets too hot, so you can explore the beautiful grounds, enjoy Mable's breathtaking rose gardens and stroll through shady groves of old growth Banyan trees. Free shuttles are also available if needed. The Banyan Cafe offers reasonably priced sandwiches and freshly made soups for relaxing lunch in the shade. You will have to pay if you want to enter the other museums on the grounds (the circus museum and the mansion tour) but there is so much to see for absolutely free. Enjoy!

Bev Martin

A must, MUST see spot & highlight of Sarasota. The art museum, circus museum and Ca d Zan should not be missed. The grounds are beautiful too. Plan at least 3 hours to take it all in.

Paula S

Couldn't give a full five due to multiple tours with docents giving completely different information on the same subjects. They should be better trained as volunteers. In addition; with several museums/ sections being closed.. either give a discount to the price OR (better marketing strategy) give a free voucher for those that are closed when they reopen. Makes your customers feel better and not being taken advantage of.

Stephanie Novak

Slow service. One museum was closed. Gift shop sold lots of art things and not much for the circus. We did not view the art museum as we came because we love the circus. Miniature circus model was cool.

Roland Awasome

I used to come here often 10 years ago. The greeters up front were very nice and informative. I can’t say much about the elderly men driving the tram. We just got to tram stop and the guy just drove by us with a couple in the back he just didn’t stop at all. My kids wanted a ride and were hot. There was one that we saw going by my daughter wanted a ride and waved to them I told her you have to stop at tram stop for ride, we did that later it didn’t work. Well that didn’t happen, they just don’t give a dang. My elderly mother asked one behind main museum they told her no and museum staff help her get a ride. Glad I didn’t spend penny here, when my kids older we won’t be coming back here. It just leaves a bad feeling when you think about it and we don’t want go to a place with a negative memory.

Mara Jane Sumila

Just BEAUTIFUL! A must see in Sarasota! Very peaceful here! & neat seeing statues specially the Statue of David! Keep in mind that there's gonna be a lot of walking in this place! Also every Monday it is free admission to the garden and The Ringling Museum.

Ashley Mckiernan

Absolutely breath taking!! A must see for everyone. I enjoyed my time on a few occasions here with my children. It is a huge place to see and so much to take in. So plan a few hours of your time to really enjoy it. They have a rose garden, tree trail, art gallery, play ground, and the circus museum which is so cool.

LMR

A usual 4.5 star now only rates 3 due to neglect of outdoor cement (filthy and in dire need of pressure washing), column structures need repair work, statues dirty, fountains inoperable, also top portion of outdoor structure in dire need of cleaning. Surely, Sarasota, the University, members of the museum, and the visiting, and paying (except for free Mondays at art museum) deserve, and can afford better. One thing that changed for the good is the removal of "Lygia and the Bull".

Melinda VanEaton

Very cool to see, the grounds are beautiful, definitely glad we went- I think it’s Monday’s they have free admission, google to verify.

Angele Roth

Amazing museum!!! The house tour is worth every penny. Do both !!

Martina Tatalias

Definitely is the most beautiful museum I have ever been to. I highly suggest touring the Ringling Mansion. Even though you have to pay extra to see it. It is definitely worth the money when you step inside. The art museum houses some of the largest painting with lots of space to walk around. The outdoors court area looks very similar to Vatican City in Italy. It is a truly beautiful place and was one of the highlights to my vacation.

Johanna Erickson

This is a great place to explore, both inside the museum and around the grounds. The grounds are fun for families with or without strollers. There’s a nice playground too. Check out the free Mondays and family events/stroller tours. Definitely worth a visit!

Jordan Curry

Always love going and exploring the grounds. New exhibits constantly. Recently got to see the medieval armor exhibit which was interesting. Staff and other people are always friendly and kind. Beautiful estate.

Jay D

Beautiful place. The Circus museum has some interactive areas that is great for the kids. The playground area is very nice too. Look out for spiders.

Christina Collandra

So pretty! Makes you feel very fancy and romantic. FREE ON MONDAYS!!!

Brent Reynolds

One of my favorite Mexican restaurant's in the Orlando area.

Jennifer Dolan

Absolutely loved it. Went with a group of friends and had a wonderful day viewing at and other historical pieces. The mansion was amazing. Quite the winter home. The rose garden was absolutely beautiful with many varieties of roses.

Dennis McGraw

Probably worth more stars if you like church art.

James Allen

Wonderful home and museum of John and Mable Ringling. Every child loves the circus. The museum is first class and features many original costumes and props from the days of the traveling circus. A thrill for the young and the young at heart. A must see day trip for circus lovers of all ages. Plenty of parking for everyone. The best part is you are free to wander the expansive grounds and enjoy the home and museum at your own pace.

Jim Maloney

An amazing collection of art by any standard! Most of it is NOT circus related although what is collected is both valuable and interesting. One has to recognize the circus was always a city on the road do it had to be independent and dependent. Another trait was timing. It had limits relative to set up and take down. Securing talent of MANY types was also critical. Those behind the scenes were at times more important than those on the stage .. without the supporting folks the stars would not have been stars. There was a very high level of creativity in place as well... even creating durable costumes was an art s much so as the acts themselves. The museum goes into all this and more. It is worth the price of admission if you are curious about how they made it all work ... from announcing to set up, break down and travel to the next location...a lot of history and education and it does take more than 1 day to capture it all!

Victoria Harrell

It's a bit pricey but so beautiful. I just wish it was more affordable for large families so I could take us all and not break the bank

Libra Homes

Cannot remember how many times we have visited this place. Whenever we have out-of-town friends/families come, we always take them here. The circuit museum is amazing and the Terrance of the main house is breath taking. Also, don't forget the art museum. A wonderful place to spend the day.

Jessica McVay

Love this place! Just wish the Asia part was a little more extensive. Other than that it was awesome!

Darleen Contario

A wonderful place to spend time. Beautiful setting.

Ardys Favaro

I love the pieces that the have inside they're absolutely gorgeous

Joker of All Trades

Every time I have come to visit the Ringling museum sights have been breathtaking. The rates for students are very good, and for non-students the pricing is still reasonable. The circus museum illuminates a wonderful part of American history. The art museum keeps beautiful and well maintained exhibits, which they keep fresh through new displays. I wouldn recommend making a day of visiting this museum as it is easy to spend hours inside.

Felipe Molina Dorlhiac

Such an amazing collection.. best part of the complex for me.

Ginny Haight

Always a great day at the Ringling. Lines were very long at 11 :15 am on a Wednesday, but as a member we were able to get in quickly via members only checkin. Docent led tours are very informative and take only 21 at a time , so sign up early. Parking is always an issue . Arrive early , because by 11 am the main parking is full and the overflow lots are almost gone!

Anne Vaughn

Beautiful and well run. Loved all the artwork and the view from the top.

Emily Belle

Absolutely amazing! So much fun and a TON of priceless and beautiful artwork. The Ca d'zan will blow your mind with all the exquisite art and lavish furnishings.

Ariel Wilberg

Definitely worth the admission. Lots of outside things to look at but also a lot of inside air conditioned places. A lot of walking but everything is very interesting. Didn't do the tours because timing didn't work out, but would definitely go back to see it!

Rosa Johnson

Oh my!! This is a jewel, a hidden place. Do not be turned off because is says is a circus museum. If you love art, you will get to see some of the most beautiful European and American art. Well organized by years and zones, I was impressed by Ringlins private art collection. Simply amazing!

Stanley Sultanpuss

Awesome museum some really amazing stuff and on Thursdays I think it's free or it might be check out the website to be sure but definitely go and see the awesome Rubens paintings

Ghia Heffelfinger

I had too much fun at the Ringling... The art work is delightful to look at, but the gardens, the statues, the architecture of the buildings is really what is awe-inspiring. I did not want to leave and can not wait to return. It is a bit expensive if you do more than just the museum... I suggest looking into the membership prices if you have a family of 5. We do, and it was only 5 dollars more to get the year. Be ready to do a lot of walking. Although they had a study stream of shuttles, there was just too much to look at that we would have missed if we had taken one. It is a beautiful piece of history and has so much to offer.

Omar Tapia

Had a great field trip with my class, the facility is beautiful, amazing art work and a lot to do here!! I come on Mondays because its free and such a nice place to spend an afternoon.

Kate Hutley

Love the Ringling. It is the backbone of Sarasota. Art you can't find anywhere! The circus museum is also fun.

s O'

We loved this. My husband loved the miniature circus display in the museum. House was beautiful as the grounds were stunning. The Art museum is a beautiful piece of architecture the courtyard was fabulous. Art was fun to look at. We enjoyed our day here easily will take you 4to 5 hours or longer to see everything and enjoy it all. We are very happy we went.

JEAN LINDSAY

Very interesting place. We didn't get to do everything as we went on the free art museum day so planning to go back and make a day of it. Staff was very friendly. My mom's ankle was bothering her and they have free loaner wheelchairs everywhere. The photo below is from the Barnum garden when a tree grew around one of the statues.

Lauren Pascarella

What a great museum! How well done and interesting it all is when you see how much it took to move that many people and animals by train. Very informative. Very intriguing. Such a fantastic collection. We visited and the 2nd building was under restoration so we were not able to see that section sadly. I only gave 4 out of 5 because they did not discount the ticket now that the 2nd circus building is closed so if you really want your dollars worth and are able to visit another time, unlike us passing through under time constraints, make sure you're able to go once it's completed!! Great for all ages.

Haunna Birdsey

I absolutely love this museum! Mondays are free to the public so it is a great place to spend the afternoon. The rose garden is my personal favorite. They have a cool changing exhibit too.

Brandon P

This was actually a pretty cool place to visit. I honestly didn't expect to actually enjoy myself while visiting this place as it is classified as a museum, however, there is enough to see to keep just about anyone interested. The large Recreation of the Ringling Circus attraction is just amazing and how much work was put into actually setting up for a show for these people. Combine that with all the acts and everything else going on it really would have been a sight to see if they were still in business. They also have them on scene Art Museum which I'm surprised was actually really well kept and a lot of different pictures to see. There is also the Ringling house that they used to live in, but we never went through that. It is surprisingly cheap for this type of venue being $25 for adults and $15 for children and to see the house that is an extra $5 on top of that. Otherwise it was a good time that we had there and I would definitely visit there again to see the house.

aron Thomas

I have been to the Ringling museum 5 times now. I always see and learn something new. I love it here. Took my fiancee for her first visit and she is already making plans for a second visit. It definitely sets a mood for a romantic outing or just to see some beautiful art.

Mary Pike

Always a great days outing. The kids love the playground and circus museum. The wife loves the fine art collection and exhibits that rotate through. I always enjoy walking through the house and gardens. Just a fabulous way to spend a Saturday with the family.

Gail Robinson

There is so much to see and do and it took us all day to see everything. The history is very interesting and the artwork is amazing. I would highly suggest making a trip to the museum and the mansion.

Brandon Rose

This place is like two museums in one. The first half if commemorating the legacy of the Ringling Brothers Circus. There are costumes, equipment, and a big model of their famous circus. The second half is the huge private collection of art that the Ringling family owned. The mix of these two halves creates a whole day of fun for all types of people.

Dawn McBurney-Hibben

This is a wonderful museum! I loved coming, and gazing at the works of Art. I would recommend coming early because they close at 5pm. Sharp! I can't wait to go again.

Thomas Edwards

Awesome place definitely get Johns tour for their house was worth the extra money. Shuttles help with the heat and they offer ice cold water at the stops which was a great relief from the Florida heat.

Jason Barnes

Much more fun than I expected. The Ringling provides a glimpse of what used to be entertainment in America. Beyond the amazing miniature circus and figurines is a beautiful home and garden overlooking Sarasota Bay. If Roman art interests you, then you'll love the courtyard which is surrounded be additional art installations and decorated handsomely with statues. This was a great way to spend a beautiful morning in Florida.

Jacquie MacDonald

To much to see in one day. Something for everyone. Worth visiting. Beautiful. Will definitely come back.

CHARY MALTEZ

Don made my day so special at The Ringling, thank you for all your work and dedication!!! I never get tired of the miniatures, every time I go I spot new details! You guys are best!!!

Amanda H

I found this place online and was initially intrigued by the statues. We just went to the art museum. There was not much said about what was on the inside online but I was blown away when we came in. We came later in the afternoon, I think 5 or 6pm. This place is huge and has so many detailed paintings that are incredible. Even a Rembrandt painting is in this museum. Expect a lot of walking though because it is huge. The staff in the art museum were pretty friendly and one girl even helped us when we got turned around.:) I only wish they would have more small plaques saying what the paintings were called etc. near the painting, as it leaves a little disconnect when you don't have them. It is really a must see if you like art and are in Sarasota. I am glad we decided to go and not skip out on this place.

Robert Gerrity

Art gallery is beautiful! Can't wait to come back when the circus museum is open again

Olivia Yeager

It was a wonderful afternoon! The grounds are beautiful and even someone who doesn't necessarily like art can enjoy the scenery. For someone who does like art-especially Renaissance art, this place is an absolute Florida must see.

Julie Anderson

Something for everyone. Relaxing for adults yet fun for kids and they don't even realize they are getting culture and education at same time. Food good. Variety of drinks. Asolo theater is never disappointing.

Gladys Cabrera

This place is so well worth it! Like 3 museums in 1. Beautiful grounds, a very impressive art collection and super interesting circus museum and artifacts

Chuck Juracsik

Always a world class museum. Must see if you are on the Florida West Coast. Don't miss it and they also have an Asian Art building addition.

Barry Jenkins

This is a must see if you're going to the Sarasota area. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and pay the extra to see the house. Beautiful bay views, exquisite gardens and fascinating artifacts from the glory days of the big top. Don't miss the huge room with a complete circus in miniature, right down to the restroom tent.

Martin Feigt

Beautiful park, I love to just go and walk around under the banjan trees and the rose garden. Everything is so well kept and beautiful even if you don't go to the museum, it's definitely worth to stroll around for a n hour or so while you are in Sarasota.

Katherine Yarborough

Beautiful area--even on their busiest day of the year, it felt peaceful!

Michelle Seymour

There is so much to see. The mini circus exhibit is unique to The Ringling. The detail in the figurines was amazing. And of course there's the view of the gulf.

June Thomas

Amazing day trip. Incredible art collections. Enjoyed the beauty of the grounds. The curator assistants were very helpful. We will make another visit.

Devin Galaspie

Lovely place, it's not very busy which is one of my favorite things about it! It's rare in Florida to find a place this beautiful that's not crawling with people. This place somehow manages to do it while being a beautiful place to visit. The art collection is expansive and the grounds are well kept. They have friendly staff and a team that will drive you around outside. I will be back to visit the mansion next to the water, I only got to see the art museum this time!

Jaracz Martin

Great time for all ages. There were people in our party from ages 5 to 70 and everyone had fun. The show was amazing and the Museum was incredible.

Erik Condie

Our first visit to this set of museums. It is worth going to the art museum. As a visitor from the Uk I would not recommend a paid guided or self guided tour of the house. It really isn’t worth it and the woman on entry to the house was so rude and unwelcoming we were in and out in minutes and even the guided tour is only 45mins long. On the self guided tour they only allow you to see the ground floor for ‘safety’ - utterly nonsensical - even the queen opens her doors fully to rooms full of precious objects!! The Art gallery was a different story and the rich tapestry of the different genres in history is amazing we spent hours in there. One other comment would be that whoever responds to these google comments need to make them more helpful- your responses to complaints sound like you just don’t care at all and don’t confirm what improvements you have made.

Melinda Schroeder

Very interesting. I never realized the Ringlings were art collectors as well. We enjoy the circus museums and the art as well!

Inda Stagg

Beautiful Grounds. Free Mondays (for the Art Museum and grounds).

Walter Weismantel

Wonderful experience. Very well done. Love the Tibballs display. Recommend it to everyone. All ages

desiree sennie

Amazing experience! The Rubens are indescribable! Well worth time and money to visit. Will absolutely go again. Can take photos of everything with no flash.

Andy Rahn

Great way to spend a day! They have a beautiful art museum. I am not big into art so I may not fully appreciate the collection. Beyond that, the circus museum is incredible! A better possible way to spend time for non art lovers. You get a great sense of the excitement created by the arrival of the circus and appreciation of what went into creating the spectacle. The grounds are gorgeous! I can't wait to go back and explore more!

Rita Zywica

The museum is great, but the grounds are the reason I keep returning to this place. There are flowers always blooming in the rose garden and secret garden. Walk along the water for some beautiful views. Lounge around the banyan tree. Walk the foot bridge over the pond and check out the turtles and birds. There is so much natural beauty to take in.

Megan Partin

Such a gorgeous place, students only pay $5. It's a great place to visit.

Paul Liacos

Amazing collection of art, I was blown away honestly. Very cool experience and would definitely go again sometime.

Adam Leader

Loved the circus museum with our kids (didn’t make it to the art museum). The model recreation is rather amazing and the rest of the displays really fun, a celebration of circus arts like nothing else. Beautiful grounds great for kids to explore. Mine liked the playground. Lunch from the outdoor cafe was adequate but rather chaotically understaffed during our holiday visit. Good for long or short visits with kids. We’ll be back to explore more.

Kelly Zemrose

I have never gone to the Museum its self so I cannot say. However the park area is delightful. Its perfect for any age with a fantastic play area. The gardens are perfect for walking and learning about the history of ringling.the view by the water is simply spectacular. Has three restaurants if I recall correctly. A small snack type one near play area and a nicer one in building then maybe one on the water I believe. The botanicals are beautiful no matter what season and its free to walk around. Whats better than free?

Rob Walter

Amazing experience. It's as if a European museum was transported to Florida's west coast, alongside the most American of exhibits - a massive miniature model of a travelling circus. We've been coming to Sarasota for about 20 years and somehow never visited. A true hidden gem that needs to be seen to be believed.

Katie Szczesniak

only did gardens & park -free and it was gorgeous. very happy & beautiful. museum of art free on mondays. have not even made it there.

Raquel Velez

Beautiful place. Such a staple of the Sarasota area. I definitely recommend the visit in the spring time (when it's not too hot).

Linda Van Dyk

Beautiful gardens, art museum, house of the circus owner who developed this property etc. Very European and quite amazing to see in Florida.

Anabella Green

One of the best place to visit in Sarasota as a tourist or even as a local! Beautiful garden, beautiful bay view. Everyone should come!

Evan Kohuth

So many wonderful features of this place. The circus museum and the Ringling house were all incredibly beautiful. And I love the expansiveness and creativity of the art museum which is currently showcasing many different countries around the world. Great place, especially with student discount!

Tom Miller

I'll start by saying that the Ringling is one of my favorite museums in the World. I love it. The Peter Paul Reubens pieces alone are worth the price of admission. The Blue Madonna, which has a great backstory to boot, might be one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever seen. However, I was really disappointed in *some* of the service I received today. To be fair, security was great and most of the docents seemed very helpful. However, a few of the docents really just about ruined our experience. When in the area, the Ringling is one of my family's favorite places to visit. My (well-behaved, for what it's worth) children love museums, love the arts, and love asking questions. A few of the docents were just rude and then seemed to follow us around, a little creepily, as if we needed policing. I highly recommend the Ringling for big people but, today at least, I was disappointed in how my little people were treated.

Katye Stevens

I went here with my boyfriend for his birthday and we both had so much fun. The only downside was how bad my feet hurt at the end of the day! They do have trams to ride on if you or someone you're going with doesn't/can't walk that far. I had no idea just how big the Ringling Brothers circus was until I saw the mini version they have on display. I highly, highly recommend going to see it. They have at least four or five huge exhibits, both inside and outside.

T.L. Anderson

Full-day experience with good art diversity, tours, and an interactive circus museum for kids.

Elliott Nolasco

Beautiful time my fiance and I love coming here. We love and enjoy the scenery, gift shop, and golf cart rides. So beautiful and their historical showings are great. Can't wait to back again.

Jennielle Potter

Beautiful grounds with a few different museums and so much to do. I absolutely love the eclectic Art Museum and kids really love the Circus museum and playground. We have to drive over 2 hours to get there and we have gone a few times over the last year. It's well worth the drive! I didn't realize what a treasure it was or that there was anything besides circus before we went but there is so much! The staff and docents are very friendly and knowledgeable!

Kim McCarthy

Beautiful Gallery, lots of walking to see Gardens. Free on Mondays

Fred Fischer

It was raining the day went so it was the perfect indoor activity. The highlight was the vast miniature presentation of a circus coming to town. It's AMAZING! The other exhibits of old circus memorabilia and videos were very interesting and fun. Really enjoyed myself. Recommended.

Kathleen Cox

Well worth the trip. Very nice and very educational.

L G

Great shows! Great attitude from all the professional employees at the facility. Love going there!

Jennifer McNeill

Really enjoyed exploring the property. It is absolutely gorgeous!

Roger Dehus

Attended the theater stream of Hamlet with Benedict Cumberbatch at the Asolo historic theater .. events at the Ringling are never a disappointment

Kayla Santana

Absolutely loved it here! The museum itself is beautiful with tons and tons of paintings, and there is even a circus exhibit. Lots of beautiful scenery to take photos with as well. The Ca’D’Zan was beautiful. My boyfriend and I did the Mable’s tour and we loved it. Very informative and not as much walking as the more expensive tour above the one we purchased. There is a quaint cafe near mable’s rose garden that has quick snacks which was great to cool down and recharge. Overall, we spent about 4 hours touring the grounds and we still did not get to see everything! Definitely would recommend coming here!

Viktor

What a wonderful pace to go for a walk and enjoy life. The view from the patio is one of a kind. We’ve been told „you loose concept of time, walking the garden“.

MIRIAM J

Beautiful place to visit. You need 2-days to.visit the estate.

Sara Garcia

Such a cool collection of circus history. I really enjoyed walking the property and looking at all of the interesting plants. The mansion is of course my favorite, it gave an awe inspiring view of ocean and the ornate design of the home was something to be impressed over.

jennie spears

beautiful place. very good for photograph and to see so many paints.

Joanne Decker

The grounds and house are magnificent. Only the art museum was open and it was amazing. Had lunch in the Muse and it was good. We highly recommend to see.

Brian Lust

Beautiful residence, world class fine art museum.

brz ghost

Beautiful place bigger clean and the sculpture in the garden omg

Richard Komatz

I absolutely adore The Ringling. There's always a new exhibit or event going on and I find myself traveling here regularly because of it. The campus is stunning and a great place to spend the day even if you're not strolling through the museums - which are amazing by the way! Especially the Tibbals Learning Center - it's incredible. The staff and security here are also a delight, especially compared to some of the other stuffy museums I've been to. They're helpful and courteous and and always have a happy demeanor. You can tell that the environment The Ringling cultivates is one that encourages and cares for its employees.

We brought the whole family on our recent trip to Sarasota. First, the pricing is so confusing. In my opinion too many different levels. When we went to purchase tickets for 7 of us we had adults, seniors and a student. No one in the group heard that we had to be at the house at 1:00. So we went through museum first then proceeded to house only to be told we could not go in until 4:00 even though it was self guided. The security lady named Brittany came out and was so rude to us. Some people just should not be in customer service, she is one of them. So we sucked it up and waited it out only to be caught in the worse rain ever. Got back to the house at 4:10. Two people in our party had to abandon their wheelchairs so we could get on the tram. We finished the house in 10 min. So not worth hanging around for. I asked if we could get the tram back and have it come a little closer because of the rain and no wheelchairs now. We had a 91 yr. old with us. One lady tried hard to help us but then Brittany came out with her mean face and bad attitude and was just sooo rude again. Basically, she would not help us at all, here's the rules just deal with them. The rain kept pouring, no loaner umbrellas around anywhere. She seemed actually happy that they did not have umbrellas. All of us were just soaked. Attitude is everything my book!!!! My worse experience in Sarasota. The museum had some good history but lots of the audio displays were broke, the intro video broke. My recommendation is to go on the day it is free!!! Forget the house.

What a vision! Thank you to the State of Florida for placing this fabulous property under the directorship of FSU. And thank you to FSU for making this collection available to the public. I had no idea it was so vast! Gardens, actual 1798 Italian Theater, the incredible Ringling home, the huge private art museum. I didn't even get a chance to see the circus museum and miniature collection or walk the 66 acres. I feel honored and proud simply walking through the entry. America is a great country.

It was very funny and there was a lot of fun activities that they did with the audience. Very nice atmosphere and just a great place in general.

Excellent place and totally worth the day in here. Bring comfy clothing and good snickers to walk this huge place. It is really enjoyable.

Spent the full day. Fun and relaxing experience. Great for big and small kids. I just wish they have more interactive experiences for the little ones.

Rhis is an extremely large art exhibit museum and will take at least two to three hours to see everything. There are photographic opportunities abound in the courtyard and without flash inside, at some of the large art on the wall. A nice way to spend a quiet day to stretch your legs. Highly recommend!

Amazing museum with plenty of things to see. They have something for everyone. Can easily make a day out of it by how many places they have.

I love this museum you can expend all day here if you want. Make a picnic. It is free on mondays at art museum. Gardens are so beautiful. It has a nice ocean view from the C'zan. Also it has a restaurant and a souvenir shop.

A great place to come and get some culture. Lots of different and interesting art pieces with detailed descriptions on their concept and/or history. It's either free or reduced to get in if you are a current University student. However, even if you aren't a student it's worth spending at least an afternoon touring the campus. It's a really nice museum overall.

One of the great places in our community. The art, the grounds, and the experience are worth an entire day, if not two. We bring our family often. The art museum is free on Mondays! The grounds are good for kids. Perfect even for little ones. Kids love the circus museum. Lots of stuff for interaction. Definitely one of our favorite places to visit.

Went with my son on a field trip recently. I was pleased to see they are doing amazing renovations and upkeep of the grounds. The exhibits are well maintained and beautiful. We were able to see the hundred or so knight armor and weapons exhibit while there and loved it. The circus museum is worth visiting too

Mondays are free! The ground are beautiful! We didn't even realize all of this was here. The museum has plenty of art to look at but I think the grounds are even better than the art. Beautiful area to explore right here in our own backward.

Bob Dale

A wonderful place to walk around beautiful artwork and beautiful grounds well worth the trip.

Just a unique kind of place that will take you back in history you'd think you know but...

Nice art but the miniature circus was amazing. Took a guy 48 years to make the pieces. The staff was veary pleasant and the grounds were great.

Maureen Casali

The classical museum is great. Wide range of works from small to enormous. Included areas of art from the orient and some modern installations. Photos allowed, no flash! Also backpacks have to be carried at your side or in front of you, apparently to protect works and people from being knocked with them. The gardens and home are lovely. There is also a playground area with some seating.

Josiah Moore

Fantastic place to come to to view the art, grounds and out side of Cad Kazan. Free on Mondays

Casa de Toro

Beautiful palace and gardens. Nice art works. Monday it's free. You got the feeling of Europe

Om Jahagirdar

Absolutely phenomenal grounds, similar to the Getty in LA. Manicured gardens, beautiful statues, nice ponds, and gardens. The Ringling House sits near hey beautiful body of water and you can sit out there. The inside tour is a little rushed, but the house inside is palatial The circus museum is really interesting and informative. The model showcase of trains and tents give a unique perspective.
