This Museum is classified in the category of Art museum.
This was one of the best modern art museums in the U.S. The art was very thought-provoking and very well explained. Many of the major artists had written information in both Spanish and English to take home. The building itself is very modern, but the hanging gardens and the wood make it feel warm rather than the cold cement found in other art museums. Food in the restaurant was also excellent.
Beautiful artwork. Beautiful food. Incredible experience
I would highly recommend you visit this museum if you are in the Miami area. The collection is great and the setting in DT Miami on Biscayne Bay is beautiful. I would also recommend you stroll Museum Park, right outside the Museums back doors, for a beautiful view of Biscayne Bay, DT Miami, beautiful palms and the aesthetically beautiful building of the museum. Highly recommend!
It's a beautiful museum. The building itself is absolutely incredible. The layout is awesome too. I was just honestly shocked that the artwork wasn't varied, or vast. Not many peices really stood out to me. I was very unimpressed with the current collection. I'm not sire if the exhibits change, but I sure hope so. I really hope that someone donates a large and interesting work of art because unfortunately most of it wasn't great. I was also surprised that there wasn't more art.
A must see if you love art.
It was repetitive, bland and the plants were dying. But I've never been partial to art so take my word with a grain of salt.
Wonderful place to visit and learn about some great artist.
I recommend doing one of the tours they offer. A volunteer shows you the highlights of the museum and explain about the building, it is a plus to the visit
This museum it is so beautiful, modern, complete and impeccable. Their staff are very attentive and willing to give you all the information and indications you need. They are very organized and most of them are bilingual. They have variety of exhibitions and they offer tours to get more information on them. PAMM is good for all ages and when I went they even had a school field trip. This museum also has a restaurant which I can't wait to go to. On Thursdays night they have happy hours with DJ. See you soon on a Thursday PAMM!!!
Excellent museum. Very easy to find. My only complain is the that the paintings were way too illuminated.
Beautiful modern art museum located in the Miami area. You can also visit the Frost Science Museum that is next to the PAMM. I recommend you to take the Metromover and enjoy the ride!
Nice place to meditate and grow
Neat stuff inside, but the Outdoor space is killer. Great space to spend a couple hours reading or just watching the water.
Very well maintained museum. Loved visiting and had a great time. Highly recommend to anyone looking for things to do in Miami.
Everything was great until we tried to get to the restaurant where the security guard was like “ You can only pass if you are going to buy something “ and was offensive cause we really wanted to go eat there that’s why we didn’t even bother
I love the PAM. Architecture is amazing, maybe nicer than the museum itself. Awesome restaurant too.
I would definitely not recommend spending your money for here. It is not worth price of parking, much less the $16/adult price. Avoid the Pérez art museum. Spend your money at the Frost science museum instead - plus, the art there is better instead.
Love it . My grandson and I go alot . One of our favorites
Take the metro for a few bucks, it will drop you right in front of the museum. Parking is expensive!!!! Meander through the exterior of the museum. Swing on the suspended seats and catch the breeze, pack a lunch and sit on the grounds to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, then walk around the path and enjoy the water views. If you must...go on pay the entrance fee and look at the exhibit...but there is NOT much in there.
Smaller museum. Very contemporary. Limited gallery.
Took the train down jumped on metromover did the Frost then did the Perez then had lunch there on the porch at the Perez at the cafe such a great time....I invite everybody to come and try one of their gourmet wraps.
It was awsome and friendly
Probably one of the most visually captivating museums I've been to ( and I have been to the Louvre)! Many of the works of art are my ppl of color and their stories are expressed eloquently.
Always fun to go to the museum, I wish they had an adult night, so we can enjoy it without all the kids running around and touching things.
We are Members of PAMM, today was the official Welcome to the Members. Unique place. Best Museum in Miami
This museum was such an amazing experience! There is great variety in what is displayed. A well curated collection touching on many facets of art. The architecture and grounds are gorgeous as well. Cool gift shop!
Lovely contemporary art museum. Loved all the exhibitions
Its a beautiful museum with even better outdoor area! Great family spot
I love this museum. Always visit when I am nearby. The exhibits are amazingly well curated and moving. Love the building and layout plus the gift shop is great!
Wonderful place to see the mesmerizing art and riverside.
Employees don't stop talking to one another and on the phone, very loud, clientele there today were not to enjoy the museum, they brought their loud conversation and crying babies. (Sorry, but there is a place for everything) I was expecting a Lot more I have heard so much about it. Truly desapointed, I wanted to ask for my money back, the parking lot is more expensive than the museum itself I wanted to give 0 stars, this doesn't let me.
A total ripoff. Expensive parking, expensive admission, very small exhibition. Great architecture. It's basically a trap to get you to eat at their fancy restaurant.
Small but interesting. A nice gift shop and the restaurant was probably my favorite part
Had a great time here. I'm not really much of an art fan but everything in here was very interesting. They had quite a few rooms downstairs and upstairs of different artwork, a bank of america room with some type of video. Building and layout is very nice. Loved the swings outside and the view of cruise ships. Definitely would recommend
Tiny young museum featuring interesting modern and contemporary art. Great views of the Biscayne Bay that pair well with a beverage on the patio. Parking is $8 for the first hour and $4 thereafter. Large gift shop and ample clean bathrooms round out a good viator experience. I've been at least five times and will definitely go back.
Amazing! Went to a "Men I Trust" concert here with friends. The tour through the museum had a twist with CURRENTS--a group of performers who acted in mini plays about the history of Miami. The "Men I Trust" concert was phenomenal. Looking forward to visiting this place again. Also, cutest gift shop!!
Love this museum. We spend all day here. I giving it 4 start because the staff seems friendly but it is not. I went on a day where it supposed to have a 50% off but if you don’t mentioned it they did t give you the discount.
Hands down, one of the most impressvie aspects of Miami. One can easily grow tired of miles of strip malls and too much sunshine...this is a Must See when in Miami. Great parking, easy access, and world class exhibits. Plan on spending time exploring the many floors and numerous exhibits.
Stellar art museum. Definitely a must see for anyone visiting Miami. Great programming that changes often. Many types of Modern art to please all the senses. Next door to the Frost Science Museum in downtown Miami.
Great architecture, building literally wreathed with greenery overlooking the water. Free access every 2nd Saturday with attractions for kids. I suggest parking elsewhere ($$$;-( and spending a morning or afternoon in the area...
I really enjoy it. Was a quick sperience but really pleasant. The people here are nice and so helpful
Very nice place to visit. Has some green area around It and a nice view to the ocean. However you need to pay 16 dollars to enter.
Absolute LOVE, one of the best public spaces I visit here in Miami on this short coming, if Miami had more of this ir would be a completely different feel. You can walk by the ocen, enjoy a bike ride and stroll around the building. Is one Jewel in Miami. Nearby is also the Zaha Hadid Building, so you can also go and meet that.
No matter how many times I go there ; I love this museum
I love this place, my favorite part are the Hammoks in the back
I love this museum. Always visit when I am nearby. The exhibits are amazingly well curated and moving. Love the building and layout plus the gift shop is great!
AMAZING! free on some days, they have an amazing museum
Just wow the aquarium is amazing and my children loved every minute of it. Many exhibits there was there for 4 hours and didn't see everything! Lots of money and planning put into this place and it shows.
Very interesting modern and contemporary art collection. Some elaborate installations. Apparently what is on exhibit changes fairly frequently, as well. The spaces are large and readily reconfigurable to suit exhibits and installations.
A must visit for locals and tourists alike. The layout is open, allowing for a chance to view the special pieces in their entirety. The Gonzalez pieces are marvelous, exhibiting her career along with an understanding of her perspective. The environs around the museum are beautiful too. Prices are very reasonable especially for locals.
Surely there are better museums, because this museum is so lacking in real art. I have been to art museums all over the U.S. and also some in Europe, and I rate this the worst. The best exhibit is a group of miniature boats hanging from the lobby ceiling. Beyond that, one large wall painting, a film about African Americans and the "While the Dew is Still on the Roses" weren't boring or awful. Some decent photos as well. To be fair, I'm not a fan of some contemporary art. My feeling is if I have to read an explanation about why a work is good, then it's likely not good. A single photo of two or three books leaning on a pice of square wood did not evoke any emotion in me except to think "who is the curator of this museum and why was this piece chosen?" There was the seemingly obligatory mirror image geometric painting in two colors and the painting of straight colored lines, both of which almost anyone could have painted. I think the artists on display had become famous somehow in the past, and now are able to create something facile and call it art. I thought this was a waste of time.
Franky the jeweler is the best at this pawn he fixe my jewelry at a great price. Love this place. They treat us like family.
Beyond the quality as a museum the location and its eloquent architecture make this place a special place in the Downtown Miami.
View of the causeway and port at a night time event. Go at your own pace to take in the exhibitions. The 30 minute guided tour is too fast. On busy days finding parking can be stressful. One of the nicest views of Miami and from the top of the science museum.
Want to do something that everyone would enjoy? Well, look no further. Fun for everyone!
Incredible staff and amazingly well kept. I love this place. everybody makes you feel at home and welcomed and the art is encapsulating
Small but very interesting art show
Exciting museum of contemporary art. Great views across the harbor from the walkway outside
A good instalation outside, a poor exposition inside. A must be also
Worth every minute of a visit. Whimsical and educational. The outdoor spaces are beautifully designed for spending an entire day there.
This museum is surprisingly small at least the collections that were available to view when we were there January 1st 2019. It looked like they had some good programs for young children, which we will definitely check out next time period I enjoyed walking through the garden and seeing all the sculpture that was quite beautiful and I hear the cafe is good too! One of the guards was super rude but everyone else there was very friendly
The museum itself and collection wasn't as impressive as the surroundings outside. Go and enjoy the swing outside of the museum, take a stroll along the waterfront amidst all the palm trees. That's all free.
I Love coming here and looking at the art work they have ,beautiful exhibits, a nice view of the city. The environment is for family's, a date, or just tourist in town with some locals. The have very polite staff
It is a nice building. The contemporary arts there are interesting. Good place to do nothing but feel puzzled, think of random stuff, appreciate the view outside.
I find a lot of the art in Miami is child's play passed off as brilliance. To me, art involves talent, genius, years of work and preparation. Much of what I see as modern Art could be produced by a child's random gestures with paint, glue or whatever. We would never accept musically what we accept graphically in Miami's art scene.
Wonderful Museum!!! Have been several times. I love that the art work changes. The pieces are fascinating and thought provoking. And the actual museum is amazing. The setting on Biscayne Bay is spectacular. Not to be missed if you are in Miami and are a lover art.
Great atmosphere and affordable to get in. There are lots of little private gallery areas for each artist which make it an intimate experience. The lay out allows you to move throughout the museum with ease. The outside area is beautiful and right on the water. The restaurant seemed pricey but the scenery was worth taking some time out in the sculpture garden. Overall a great experience. Parking below in the garage in expensive but I convenient option.
Enjoyed view of the bay, as well as art structures outside and all the art indoors. Will definitely come back in the future.
Nice museum in a city with no many options. Beautiful views, nice restaurant.
Excellent art place, I loved this museum and the green restaurant!!!
Interesting exhibits. Lots of space for viewing. Parking $$$.
The museum itself is located on the waterfront off Biscayne Blvd. Plenty of parking, beautiful museum however the majority of Art Work displayed is "Abstract", very abstract and not for me. There were some visually beautiful Art Work, just being honest.
Thursdays are the best time for the museum, because these days it's working until 9pm.
Excellent option to spend a day and activate the creativity. Highly recommended for families with children.
Was impressed with how good this museum is! Not only the very modern pieces are beautiful but the building itself and the view are as well. Along with the indoor exhibitions, the museum features an outside area and patio with amazing works. The price is fair, they offer several different discounts (student, military, senior, etc.) as work on extended hours on Thursdays. A must see if you’re in Miami
The Pérez Art Museum Miami is a masterpiece in itself. The museum is comprised of so many beautiful exhibits and artifacts. The place is really good option to visit with family.
Brilliant exhibitions. Loved it! Very moving, inspirational and the history of African Americans had me in tears for the suffering. #UltraLightbeam
The building itself is very nice and well design to host several types of exhibitions. I would definitely recommend to go.
I love this pawn shop Frankie the jeweler is awesome. Bring your friends and family for great deals
Amazing Exhibits ! loved the cafe , atmosphere and all of the exhibits . constantly rotating so there is always something new . will be back
Its location in Miami is easily accessible by all modes of transportation. It has a great partnership with the community that allowed the youth to be exposed to high quality modern art. The exhibits are displayed well and explained so that even novice observers can appreciate what the artist is intending to communicate.
Convenient parking under museum. Very modern structure with must see external "hanging" gardens. Attention focused on quite modern art with a focus on Latino artists and ideological expressions. Great bay views from expansive restaurant.
I love the Museum, always such a nice treat! The ground and the view are so refreshing!
The layout is open, allowing for a chance to view the special pieces in their entirety. The Gonzalez pieces are marvelous, exhibiting her career along with an understanding of her perspective. The environs around the museum are beautiful too.
The architecture is astonishing, and the works inside are fantastic as well (as is usual with modern art, your mileage may vary). They're constantly changing most of the exhibits so you're not likely to encounter the same thing twice. Definitely worth visiting
Honestly, the art did nothing for me. I found it all a bit boring. Nice building, nice location, just not I liked at all. Sorry
The place itself is gorgeous but the art that is displayed here is decent at best.
Fascinating Gold Leeds-certified building, very diverse artists -- including many women of advanced ages! -- and wonderful views
It's a beautiful place to even just go have a coffee and sit outside on the swings and enjoy the view and the breeze. Easy to reach by metro mover.
Loved that place right on Government Cut with a view of the cruise ships' port and Venetian Causeway. Besides the modern art inside, the gardens are a great place to hang out if the temperature is not too hot.
Modern. Friendly staff. Great art. Beautiful outdoor terrace with a nice restaurant and hanging gardens. Casual atmosphere.
Interesting exhibits. Facility is a little disjointed but well run. Summer exhibit is really neat.
Striking, ecologically-grounded architecture houses eclectic interior design and exhibitions featuring world-class artists. The restaurant has good food and offers breezy open air seating with a nice view.
We saw some great stuff! Every local & tourist should take a day to come see the museum & walk the gardens. It was a day well spent. Tip: the first Thursday of every month is free!
Beautiful building. A bit small for anything more than one or two collections. The quality of modern art is varied and on average (visirted 4 times) is low. Yet the setting is beautiful and you can see the PAM in one hour.
We had a great time!
Perez has a small permanent collection with the most notable artist being Robert Rauschenberg. I visit this museum often to see the rotating exhibits. They always have a diverse mix of artists with varied mediums and points of view.
The Pérez Art Museum Miami is a masterpiece in itself. The museum is comprised of so many beautiful exhibits and artifacts. The place is really good option to visit with family. I went here with my family and the children in our family were very happy with this place. They enjoyed themselves and got to learn so much. The kids were so happy that they keep on asking about our next visit. This is a wonderful place.
Nice relaxing place just outside the museum sit and watch the bay. Nice wifi.
Probably the best art institution in Miami. Gorgeous building, nice fun staff, doesn't look like a traditional museum inside either, lots of windows. There's always interesting exhibits and they stay for a while. It's nice to see local artists in here as well as Afro-Caribbean and Hispanic contemporary art. They have a fund which allows them to show women artists more often than any other museum in the country. Do not miss PAMM if you're traveling! First Thursday and second Saturday of the month are always free.
Unusual art displays at this art museum. Definitely worth a visit
Location and Building are beautiful. The ART inside occupies vast quantities of space for very few items that my first grade class could have produced. Never again do I trust an average review rating. How can this possibly be 4.5???? What happened to talent and creativity in the art world?
Great place in Miami to have a full day with the family and art. All art is accessible to all ages, how you approach it is what matters. It is a contemporary and modern art museum so don't come expecting to see the Mona Lisa or any Van Gogh. Expect to be challenged in your view of art.
Beautiful museum with a cafe! Lovely place to get together with friends and explore! Right on the water.
Very modern art. Large works. Had difficulty appreciating how some of the pieces made the cut. Went on a free day so no regrets on that front. Had lunch at the cafe. Good food good service and good prices.
Soccer exhibit was my favorite, can't wait for the next!
Great museum by Herzog De Meuron architects. Significant collection! Great interior spaces!
Great place to have weddings or just a corporate event. The views we're great and also some fine art. What I like the most is the irrigation system that they have outside. Forgot to take pictures of it. Careful of the carwash thingy, as it's full of germs.
Love the outdoor area for parties. Nice views of the water. Beautiful hanging plants overhead... just a beautiful area. Very high end.
2nd time visiting. Love all the exhibits. Beautiful sight of the ocean. Love the swings outside. Don't mind the drive, paying parking, etc. However, one thing threw me off... I accidentally flashed once on my phone and the person monitoring the 1st floor said "NO FLASH"!! 3x, instead of graciously saying no flash. It seems there may have been a language barrier... For sure next time I will definitely use "NO FLASH"!!.
This is a really neat building(the only reason I am giving this 3 stars) it is worth the trip just to see the architecture and to walk around the outside. Plenty to see and do without paying admission. The art inside was nothing special the day we visited however I am sure that they rotate exhibits. The most unsettling thing was the execessive number of security guards in every room. There were 2-3 guards in every room and most of them we're socializing with each other without concern for the visitors to the museum.
I'm an avid museum goer, especially art, and was a bit disappointed with PAMM. This museum is stricter than any other I've been to with regards to proximity to the pieces. Some have actual barricades or floor markings telling you how close you can get. I understand wanting to protect the pieces, but I've never seen that anywhere else I've been and it made it hard to see some of the art. There was a nice older latina guard who was knowledgeable and taught my son some things about the art. However, when I went to a room with neon light work, I asked the female guard at the door if there was a moment when all of the pieces would be lit at once since they were only lighting one at a time. She rudely and firmly told me "I don't know". How do you not know if you've been standing right there? The outside of the museum is beautiful and has a few fun installments which make for great photo ops. Glad to have seen it but I won't be back. Norton Art Museum or the Wolfsonian are more worth re-visiting in my opinion.
Smallish art museum. Contemporary/modern. Even stuff for small lids to enjoy (age 7 & 5). Just right size for the kids before they get bored. Enjoyed our time here. Bonus, free fiest thurs of month.
Gorgeous building and property, but not a fan of abstract and contemporary art. Would like to see more exhibits featuring the classics.
Amazing programing for members. Restaurant is delicious!
At first I was not sure I found this was going to be looks like a lot of buildings together just things to go look at and read but when you get inside you would be surprised there was so much to see I was surprised Pacific Service went my granddaughter was saying she could not believe all the stuff that was in there we got to see a movie you pick a movie that you seen and with your place and there's food there's drinks the walk the different buildings you see so much the big tank huge tank I should say you can see from the sides from different floors and you can see from underneath little evening when you go in there you spend more time than you would ever believe and there's so much going on you just get lost in all that is so nice and you learn so much we are just amazed so it's definitely a do thing especially on a cloudy day go enjoy that's a great thing to do with kids adults everybody would love this
Beautiful Art Museum. This time the Restaurant food was very poor. Disappointing The Paintings were hung beautifully . There was time and space to really see them. We spent three hours looking and talking Totally motivating
The exhibits were simple but wonderful. The cafe you must visit. Everything tasted delicious. And everyone was so friendly.
Most everything here was unimpressive. There were a couple of interesting exhibits but I got the feeling that a middle school art class could do better.
Our docent volunteer Barbara gave an educational, entertaining, thorough tour.
The art was amazing and the people where so nice. The restaurant was a little expensive but other than that it was great
For $16/adult, it's an awesome place! If you're a fan of the arts, you'll love it. Very interesting artwork and exhibits.
Gorgeous sights and very fun yet relaxing place
Good place if you are interested in arts, otherwise don't waste your time.
It’s Fisher’s favorite place to run around.
I loved the free second saturday. Perfect for my birthday visit to Miami. Only thing I thought parking was supposed to be free as well. The parking attendant just said card. And did not answer when my boyfriend asked him about it. Otherwise great visit.
Overall it was cool. Took some nice photos and I would recommend if you like art.
Very nice museum in downtown Miami. Loved the eclectic sense of style. Very well maintained and a nice break from the usual dinner and drinks vibe we’re always on in Miami. Definitely visit!
Deborah Anzinger and Nari Ward's Pieces were amazing.
Miami’s PAM features captivating architecture and a welcoming staff. It is a relatively new museum that is still building its permanent collections. The focus on local and contemporary artists is vital, was much-needed, and adds freshness to the exhibit spaces. A must-see if you visit our fair city.
Quite small contemporary museum compare to this kind of museums in Europe with free entrance. But the big disappointment was - during our visit some part of museum was closed and we constantly accompanied with very loud noise from drilling, knocking and moving heavy part of furniture. It would be better if they(staff) notified customers about it.
It’s not so fun, but if you like painting you will enjoy. The view outside is great!
Very nice. Love all the space and views of the outside but the security inside are a little too strict in regards to touching the pieces. Sometimes one was to touch oil on canvas to see how it feels, bit they won't even allow it for a split second. There were pieces of old article inside a class table with absolutely no access to touching them but they wouldn't even allow to touch the glass top to point something out. But this us understandable. The parking and gift shop were extremely expensive.
What a waste of money and location for that building. Extremely boring and a failed attempt to display pretentious unknown art.
We went at the recommendation of my brother who's in architecture school. It was so much fun to take pictures here. The swings are so much fun and overseeing the water/bridge is so relaxing. It's a nice walk to Bayside too so it's nice to make a day of it
One of my favorite gallery’s and amazing gift shop :-)
If you are around the area it is 100% worth checking this museum out.
The museum does have quite a few interesting pieces, but if you have been to many modern art museums, you will likely feel a little let down. It's $25 per person for the entrance fee. My friend and I took a little over 2 hours to go through the entire museum. We took our time looking at the exhibits and reading the descriptions. It is a beautiful building in a great location, but the price is too high for what you're getting.
my boyfriend and i went recently. it has really beautiful photo spots outside. i wish there was more! but overall great experience.
Magnificent building and architecture, if you are into that type of interest then definately reccomend. The views towards the bay are world class and there are a few things to do without having to get into the museum itself. The museum was closed for renovations so can't attest to the quality of their ongoing exhibitions.
I love thr balconey where yu can sit and relax
Super friendly service, and a well maintained place. The artwork display is fair though. I like the idea how they have more importance to local artists and cultural history displayed with greater significance, which is exactly what artists like me are looking for. For instance, the dedicated display of luminous pink map artwork of the surrounded islands. That's something I found intriguing among the displays. Unfortunately, there's not enough content for the bucks.
Beautifully laid out. The architecture of the building to the use of all spaces are imaginative.
Brilliant space. Always the best artists on display.
The outdoor space is beautiful. Grab a drink at the bar, go outside, and relax!
pretty good museum. mainly contemporary art after world war II. I like their set up. it's open and easy to move along.
This is such a beautiful place to hang out with friends or the significant other! We went on a windy day so it was awesome! Wheather you walk around the park or sit on the swings ...its the perfect place to chill! There is a resturant inside the museum. We didn't go inside the museum though.
Maybe I have a high standard for art, maybe I just don't know how to appreciate some of the modern art, personally I don't think there are many artworks worth paying to see at this place. To me some of the artworks look like graduate projects of art college students and some are just ...weird. This place does have very nice view, though.
Mi dother love it, I guess she is just like me
A must place to visit in downtown. A lot of learn and watch. Centrally located, nice parking lot area and amazing views.
Nice museum with interesting design and architecture. Several exhibits closed during our visit...so the $16 price pet ticket was a lot for the amount of art we were able to see.
Must Go in Miami. Very interesting art installation indoor and outdoor. Very bright, bold and beautiful artist’s displays to study. It was clean and quiet, architecture is beautiful as well as the gift shop. We had an amazing afternoon.
Very disappointed, very nice space that is extremely underutilized. Go when its free, otherwise it's not worth the money.
Is this place a joke? Nothing interesting. Your money is better spent elsewhere. How many millions of dollars could have been spent on better things??
Amazing. Somwthing for everyone. Memorial Day. Grandly done down to the smallest detail. Truly works of perfection !
I went to see this so called art museum, the building is beautiful. What where is the art? Is embarrassing to call this place art museum. Miami deserve better than this. Don't waist your money.
Mixed feelings about the art pieces. Some just looked so insultingly amateur... I mean, like grab an empty box from the garage and call it "Art" kind of amateur. My friend kept saying anything is art, it depends on how you look at it. Seriously, some pieces were even falling apart. Kind of embarrassing for someone who has traveled the world looking at art. But, I'm happy that the museum is in Miami. I give it a 4 stars because I liked the building, the view of the Miami port and the fact that they offer free admissions on certain days of the month for the community to enjoy.
Was a great experience. I can enjoyed it
