We have the information of real people who are using the products of Museum of Fine Arts (Museum) near Florida.
At present the business has a score of 4.7 stars over 5 and that rating is based on 1288 reviews.
You must have seen that the average score it has is basically the highest, and it's founded on a large number of reviews, so we may conclude that the valuation is very accurate. If people have bothered to rate when they've done well with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put reviews when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Museum belongs to the category of Museum.
They have new exhibits often. The parking is in the back lot. I attended one of their intimate concerts which they host regularly. The building is clean and they have a decent variety of art work. They also have a cafe. If the weather is good you can eat outside with a view of boat docks.
This is a visual piece of art from the grounds of the museum to the facade to the interior to the art. It sits at ground zero for downtown St Pete nestled between the water and the multiple restaurants and high rise condos. Escape from civilization and enter a world of first class art forms from the old masters to free wheeling folks determined to express themselves visually. Take time to muse over the reason people created what they did. Don't rush through the museum or you'll miss the tranquility and peace it offers.
We were lucky to visit the Star Wars exhibit at the Museum along with other attractions that we thought were well worth the time. Located right on Beach Drive in the middle of other great restaurants and lounges and featuring traveling exhibits on a routine basis it's a great downtown stop.
Had not been in for several years. Content and presentation dramatically improved.
Nice varied collection for a small museum. Interesting temporary exhibits.
MOFA is a wonderful journey of the discovery of art through many ages! I was there viewing the special exhibit of the artwork of Theo Wujcik! He was my Lithography instructor at the University of South Florida!
Beautiful art and staff is wonderful
Love this museum! I like it so much better than Tampa's art museum. Much more rounded collection. Great cafe too.
A nice building with many amazing pieces. The jewellery exhibition was incredible. Entrance a little expensive. To top it off it has a lovely restaurant, prices were good too. Staff spoken to were very helpful and informative both in the museum and restaurant.
I think it is most maintained public place in Karachi...
Excellent exhibits. The origami exhibition is very interesting.
A great floor plan and mix of artwork. The clerk at the front said the average visit time is 1 1/2-2 hours. The only way you could do that is if you just wanted to lay your eyeballs on everything, and didn’t care to take any joy in educating yourself or absorbing the artwork. I got there just before 1pm, and security was ushering me out at 5pm...and I just got to “eyeball” the last part...not even knowing if I saw it all! The MFA Collection has MANY side rooms!!! And 2 gardens (they’re not big-nor magnificent, but not to be missed!) I used a museum pass from the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative, but well worth the $10. entrance fee. I left, with pointer finger raised, claiming, “I’ll be back!”
Lots of galleries to enjoy so glad I got to go here
Went to a concert here, unexpected venue and it was awesome! Looking forward to more similar events!
Terrific museum. The staff are amazing. Wonderful way to spend a couple hours
Lots of exhibits and a great variety of different artists.
Great mid century jewelry displace. Beautiful Tiffany pj es.
Alot if interesting thing here in the heart of downtown St pete
Lovely medium museum. Shows are creatively curated and displayed. Love Sunday brunch at the cafe.
Our visit during Star Wars exhibit tour. To be 4'-6' away from the costumes, dresses, props, weapons was a real thrill. Great art exhibits. Even have exhibits you experience, as shown. Located next to park on Tampa Bay. Local restaurants 4-5 star quality. Mark this as a must see when visiting Tampa Bay.
Had a great time. Went there through AARP! i am so glad St Pete has a M of FA.
Beautiful museum, gift shop and Cafe, worth the trip!
Nice change of pace for us.
Beautiful facility, engaging permanent and temporary exhibits, MOFA is the jewel in St Petersburg's waterfront. Close proximity to the restored Vinoy Hotel, fine dining, shopping, personal care(spa, hair, nails, more), allows the museum to be easily included in almost any length visit to St Petersburg.
Great experience. I had a brief tour with my class and found the tour guide to be friendly and interesting. The tour was very informative and I would highly recommend it.
Great museum with nice collection and restaurant
It is great place! I enjoyed so much the exibition of luxury jewelery by Tiphany and co.
I love all of the different types of art they present, the culture art really express what they stand for and the history behind it all is phenomenal!
Great place with friendly staff, nice little cafe and they always have good exhibits.
I greatly enjoy the variety of exhibits. Today we saw folk art & fairies. The last time, Mid-Century jewelry. The information presented is always clear & thorough. Quite an educational & entertaining experience!
Beautiful location in downtown st.pete.
Fantastic pieces of art and I enjoyed the layout and flow of the museum.
Great collection of varying types of art, spanning centuries from around the globe. The only thing that would make it better is if people not crowding around you while your trying to read about the piece, but I digress...
We drove over from Tampa to visit one of the best fine arts museum in the country. Many pieces of works by the old masters are on display here plus other pieces of art by soon to be famous artists from around the world. Whether you live here or are just bisiting this is a must see.
Great place to stop in for a quick weekend brunch at their cafe. Have not yet toured the actual displays of the museum yet
The Museum of Fine Arts never disappoints. They keep the classic art but had a unique skill set for bringing modern art to the audience. I stay there all day & it's amazing to see how they just transform a room to fit any occasion! Operations at the museum keeps a tight ship because I have seen so many moving parts & a staff member in full service mode. A must see even for the locals.
It's a decent museum. The problem is that it tries to have a little bit of everything. But it's too small to pull it off. If the museum put a heavier focus on a few select styles it would be a much more cohesive and rewarding experience. It needs a point of view.
You all MUST view the ORIGAMI exhibit while it continues to be available at this museum. The history is beautifully explained as are the multiple sizes & variations so exquisitely displayed. Such JOY is this fabulous experience!
Wonderful afternoon spent at the museum I've been visiting this museum for 30 years now and I'm never disappointed.
Outstanding museum with eclectic displays and a fantastic respite from summer heat.
Great Way To Take In The Day, Museum of Fine Arts Has It All. Be It Chinese Artificats, Masters of impressions, To Modern Art, The Saint Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts, Transverses Time, & Brings It To Tampa Bay!
The museum is large with many interesting works. I enjoyed my visit.
The origami sculptures were bomb !!! And the permanent artworks r amazing as well !!! They even had some Panamanian pottery ! (My mom is from Panama) we went on museum day so it was free but normally it was 20 dollars, either way, it was a fun experience :)
Their Cafe carries a phenomenal delicious Burger.
I learned a lot and it was a very informational experience would definitely recommend it
Great afternoon looking at art work.
Its a pretty steep price ($30) for what I saw. Of course the exhibits were beautiful, but it seems like the price should be maybe $20.
This is a great museum. My daughter and I really enjoyed all of the exhibits. Plan to spend longer than you would think looking through all of the different exhibits.
Clearly the best I'm the area. Don't know why people always talk about the Dali. The Dali has some cool stuff, but it's restricted to one artist, and after the magic of that artist is up, it is rather dull. MFA can import exhibits from all sorts of artists and museums, and recently brought in a world class exhibit, Schlumberger, which was truly stunning. Great place, recommend going without question.
We saw a wonderful exhibit comparing and contrasting William Glackens and Renoir. A+
This was my first and last visit to the museum of fine arts museum's cafe. I was invited by close friends to share mother's day brunch with them. Our reservations were at 1pm and I was seated by 1258. It took 20 minutes just for our waitress to take our order. Ten minutes later she came to inform me that the crab cakes I ordered were sold out. So I ordered an alternative. Ten minutes after that a couple sitting next to me ordered crab cakes and received their meal even before ours came out. It took a total of 1 hour and ten minutes to recieve our food. I counted 5 tables that arrived after ours and received their food before us. When we complained we did get a discount and the waitress brought our bill out 5 minutes after our food arrived. I have never received a bill before finishing eating and the others in my party actually wanted to try the dessert. Needless to say, by then my appetite was gone and the salmon I ordered was bland. Will not return..
Fabulous gem of our own right downtown!
I'm happy they consider Star Wars costumes fine art. Great exhibition.
This is a very nice local museum. You need at least 2 hours or more to appreciate the diverse exhibits.
Great museum, some great artwork to look at.
Cool museum to see! The origami exhibit was interesting as well
I loved it! Pinellas county library card holders can get free passes to this museum. There is a wide variety of fine art. I took lots of pictures. I checked out the website before I went and non-flash photography is allowed. Dry media sketching is allowed as well and I look forward to my next visit
Want great, pretty loud, great selection
This is my second time coming here, the library has right now free tickets to come here, enjoy yourself or you can come with someone and or up to 3 children can come on one free ticket.
Some interesting pieces here. Certainly a smaller exhibition space than some museums. Nice way to spend an hour or two.
We had such a blast here on Thursday afternoon. 5.00 entrance fee after 5 and the artifacts were incredible! It is a very eclectic collection and the best I've seen in quite some time. We will definitely visit again!!
Inspiring and charming place, must visit for anyone visiting St. Pete
Thank you for hosting an amazing reception dinner.
More than a day's worth of viewing. Valet parking across the street is same price as Museum lot -$10.
Would give it 10 stars if possible. Nice collection, exceptional guides.
The Jean Schlumberger exhibit was stunning, our tour guild was funny and knowledgeable , its a great place to spend the day.
Beautiful museum with a great collection. Museum collection is varied and includes a ancient art as well as more modern works. There is a beautiful courtyard with a sculpture garden, a cafe and a gift shop. It is walking distance from the Dali Museum. There are excellent restaurants right across the street for lunch or dinner. Highly recommended.
I didn't get to visit the Museum, so to speak. The location was used as a venue for a wedding I attended. The ceremony and reception were located in the lobby area of the Museum entrance. (The Museum itself was closed.) The venue was lovely. There was also an out door patio area used for the cocktail hour. Everything was kept extremely clean (especially the spotless ladies room). Hopefully, the next time I am in the St Petersburg area, I can visit the actual Museum and see more than I was able to by peeking through the windows!
This place is really cool! I ended up coming here because this was the venue for my mom's wedding but I was able to pass through and see the artifacts and fixtures. There is a lot of diversity in the museum as far as different time periods and even the staff during my attendance of the wedding we're incredibly courteous and nice.
I enjoyed the museums beautiful art. On the other hand the security was very rude. They (2 of them)follow you through each room calling off the minutes you have left. They will call ten minutes then 8 minutes then 6 minutes and so on. Why can't they just call out the time over the intercom and then have the security push people out at the last minute. It's not a place I will go back to. Very disturbing in a quiet place looking at art.
Such an awesome place for all ages... Something new to see each time, and docents that really know how to engage kids, making it fun to learn and about art and history!
Visited Cafe for lunch - great atmosphere and food. Selection limited.
Lily was our tour guide today. She had a lot of interesting Insider information on the artwork, how the museum works, and general knowledge and anecdotes. Anybody that goes to an art museum should expect to appreciate Fine Art and that's what we saw. Lily added to our experience exponentially.
We were so happy that we took time to visit this beautiful museum in St. Petersburg. Even at noon, the galleries were filled with appreciative visitors like ourselves. Gorgeous floral arrangements were placed in front of the artwork that inspired them. I loved it. I will certainly visit again when I return to St. Petersburg!!
,Loved it, but museum store was closed Monday.
Wonderful museum in a beautiful setting with an incredibly diverse permanent collection and stunning special exhibitions. Don't miss it!
Fun and cool museum. If you enjoy this stuff then make a point to go and visit.
Went for the Above the Fold origami exhibit, but visited the whole museum. Very nice!
My Son took me there Mother's Day. I loved it. My Son liked the Elephant Faced God (the God of Wealth)
Really nice art museum - just the right size for a day trip. Loved the origami exhibition and the variety of art on permanent display. Will go again.
Has an amazing artifact section!!!
A smallish, but absolutely splendid museum in downtown St. Petersburg. A surprisingly eclectic permanent collection, with special exhibitions coming and going all the time. A decent gift shop as well. Conveniently located, and definitely a place to spend a few hours.
We went for museum day and their website listed they were open till 5pm. We struggled to find parking and walked for quite sometime to find out they did not let in anyone after 3pm. We were there 5min pass 3.
First time here. Beautiful museum. Exquisite special jewelry show of Jean Schlumberger from Paris.
Variety! From ancient ceramics to intricate carvings to eyeball jiggling contemporary pieces, well displayed with informative placards.
Strolling through the museum is an absolutely wonderful way to spend an afternoon. It was also exciting to see a Monet so close to home.
Great, varied collection well curated. Took advantage of Bank of America’s Museum on Us program. Enjoyed the Jean Schlumberger exhibition. Beautiful pieces! Highly recommend.
It was a great museum to visit! Had a lot of different art from ancient to modern. Only that parking is hard to find. Just better to use the valet parking. Would highly recommend to anyone!
The permanent collection changes just enough that you want to revisit a couple times a year when you go to see the traveling exhibits.
Visited to check out for a wedding venue. Beautiful rooms and options for a ceremony and reception. Nancy was great to work with. Hope to book soon!
Lots of beautiful pieces of art. Nice variety in the permanent collection
I was impressed by selection of art. This is a smaller museum, but the exhibits are interesting and provide a range of periods and styles. I would definitely visit again.
First class museum!
We enjoyed our time at this Museum which has something for everyone and a family activity area!
Had a awesome time, new event is origami. Beautiful pieces and even a place to make your own pieces. Also all the other exhibits were outstanding, just didn't have enough time to it all.
Helpful staff and great atmosphere. I loved the This is Not a Selfie exhibit. I'd definitely like to see another exhibit in the future.
My wife and I visited this museum for the first and last time. We're both 50 plus year old African Americans and the security guards followed us all over the museum. Wherever we went they were right behind us, they didn't follow anyone else like that. It was very uncomfortable. We paid our $40 dollars to get in just like everyone else did. I'm going back in to let the manager of the museum know exactly how we felt.
We have a membership since this is a place one wants to visit more than once. With our membership we can get into other museums as well that are on the recipricocity list for free. This museum is in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida which is a BEAUTIFUL location with many shops and restaurants. This museum always has different exhibits, a place to eat and a gift shop. Must visit
Very worthwhile visiting. Eclectic collection of paintings, sculpture, and other types of art from many time periods and countries. While the collection is limited in size, many items are first rate. Parking is hard to come by near the museum, especially on weekends. Special exhibitions add to the diversity. The grounds, building and collection are well kept and the staff is helpful. There several nearby restaurants if you want to have lunch after your visit.
If you go here, make sure you get in a tour first. It will make your trip more enjoyable.
What a gorgeous museum for our city. Plenty of famous and rare artists of various mediums and eras, BC until now. Bravo. I am going to become a member.
Great collection and temp exhibits excellent.
I loved the museum on the whole and the various cultures and genes that were represented. That being said, my nose was assaulted by the musty smell lingering throughout most of the exhibit. It got to the point that it was burning so bad that I had to leave. Once outside and having a major sneezing attack, my nose started to once again feel normal. I have to say the museum needs to look into it's health when it comes to moldy smells. I would have a hard time believing I am the first to exhibit such symptoms and really find it hard to believe it's a healthy place for employees in general.
Pre Colombian art exhibit is excellent. love all the glass work from chihuly exhibit. Give yourself plenty of time to take a tour and listen to a docent wealth of information well worth the time.
This is my favorite museum in St Petersburg! They have a great variety and a fairly large collection. They also always have top-notch rotating exhibits. The tour guides are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this museum.
Good art, great variety of art work, especially the impressions and post impressionism era.great location, near the park and the sidewalk by the water.
A lot of fun with beautiful items. It was a very relaxed ambience.
Pretty nice collection from around the world and from various eras. They also have some pretty legit temporary exhibitions from time to time.
Absolutely worth the trip and time. Great works of art from various artists and equal representation.
Great place to spend an afternoon.
1) Lots of art displays 2) Educational 3) Nice location
Great exhibition with beautiful presentation of the tiffany Schlumberger jewelry and the daisy fairy luster wedgewood art. First Saturday each month is free to bank of America card holders.
Very quaint museum, in a very good way. Great selection of work, not an overwhelming space, you could walk it in 45, then pace yourself/get lost for approx 1.5hours. I went for the #JeanSchlumberger exhibition; GORGEOUS pieces. I look forward to coming back for more spontaneous weekends.
More than one day's worth of content. Docents are very knowledgeable and interesting on the tours.
I came here for a wedding. A small area of the museum was open to us prior. A beautiful garden for the ceremony and another for cocktails... indoors for the meal. A nice venue for a celebration.
Always a joy to visit and a cultural icon to be cherished in our community.
Always enjoy the specialty programs
In one word - satisfaction. Vary nice place. It was a pleasure for me visiting this museum of art. You can find Asian art, fine art and modern art here. If you are into art, this museum is for you. I recommend! The prices are not expensive, it is a 20
Went here due to a homework assignment for my humanities class it was very nice and clean had detailed information about the pieces. Also I only paid $15 due to student discount so couldn't complain! Very beautiful piece pictures do them no justice.
Wonderful exhibit of arts from all over the world. This visit the origami exhibit was my favorite. Museum is handicap accessible. Though when crowded it can become a challenge to navigate a wheelchair. Lots of museum staff to help & share information about art pieces.
Always a must for tourists and residents. The displayed pieces are remarkable -although occasionally not well showcased or hard to fully appreciate. Interesting also the art from the poorest artists -great food for thoughts.
Really quite large first floor but second floor small. Very interesting, & diverse. Worth visiting. The origami display was very interesting & unexpectedly good.
Fantastic New additions... interesting shows.
Nice permanent collection and awesome special events and displays.
Small but wide ranging collection that changes. With a revisit. Cafe is best hidden secret in St. Petersburg
Great place to visit often as they have frequent changes in their featured artists. Beautiful venue on the bay, right in the heart of downtown St. Pete. Parking can be a bit tricky with the pier construction going on. Street parking at meters can be available but avoid during lunch hours on weekdays, it gets crowded. There may be a parking area to the back of the museum which I didn't see until we left, unsure if it costs to park there. Helpful staff and guides are available for group style tours. Small cafe in main lobby area. I will definitely be going back.
Nice place. Perfect for a sunny afternoon with family. It has some interesting pieces.
Nice museum. I have lived in the Tampa Bay Area all my life, however, had never been to this museum. I took a friend that was in from out of town and we were both pleasantly surprised at the collection and variety of art and artifacts located thoughout the museum. We wondered around and took our time, as well as looking at the temporary exhibits. Spent a couple hours wandering then went to lunch at one of the many restaurants along the street adjacent to the museum.
Nice small museum, but they need to have better signage about how to line up and where certain exhibits are. You really need to find parking a few blocks from this museum.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself, I'd recommend that you take an afternoon outing to this beautiful museum of fine arts in St Petersburg.
Lovely place to spend an afternoon. On site restaurant is excellent.
The museum itself is clean, well organized, and has various art from many different time periods. Including paints, sculptures, pottery, and even clocks. Spent a day there and would definitely go back again.
We had our wedding reception here and couldn’t have been happier. The party was perfect the ambiance was incredible and we are still getting compliments about how delicious the food was, wedding or not. The wedding coordinator was so easy to work with and we couldn’t have been happier with our planning experience.
great selections of art..
Great location next to Park restaurants bars and the water. Nice small City fine arts museum
A varied collection of art in in all the classic forms. Many world famous artists presented. An outdoor sculpture garden. Really enjoyed it. Barely finished viewing the first floor. Will have to go back to view the 2nd floor when the 2 traveling galleries change exhibits.
My first visit. I don't consider 3 stars a bad rating as this is a general art museum in a small city. The permanent collection is average, with the contemporary room the most disappointing. The special exhibits were good and enjoyable. Future shows would bring me back but otherwise, no. The facility is very good, spacious and attractive. My other criticism is that several times I felt the lighting inadequite. I've done gallery lighting and know it's a challenge. But if you can't see the work well, why bother?
I was unaware of this museum. Small but great collections. Inspired by AARP to attend. I will return in the future with my grand daughter.
Some great stuff , quiet and intimate
Great amount of art to look at for hours. Very interesting and inspiring.
Did you know that with a local library card, you can get a free pass to the museums?! On Valentine's Day, I went to see the jewelry exhibit and enjoyed the Asian and Impressionists as well. It's a nice little Museum and I will go again when they have other new exhibits. Parking is not as easy as they make it sound though. Better bring quarters and prepare to walk a ways.
!Not only is this a great refuge from the scorching Florida heat momentarily but a surprisingly educational and cathartic experience overall. My son was able to get in free for his age and I was extremely surprised to see such well known artists in our local museum. Would definitely recommend. We all loved it and learned a ton. Thanks
The origami was great. When do we get to see the mosaics?
This place was great. A very well rounded collection. The building it is housed in has a classical beauty. If you get a chance you should check it out. Sadly their cafe is closed on Mondays...
Wonderful morning at the St. Petersburg Fine Arts Museum. So beautifully done. Right on Beach Drive. Museum had so much to see. There is a lovely museum store too. This exhibition of jewelry & related items truly breathtaking. Tiffany played an important role here. If you enjoy flowers & gardens this will make your eyes pop.
This is a treasure trove of treasures. If possible, link up with a docent. They make the stories behind the art come to life. There is an extreme variety of Art to be seen and enjoyed. There is plenty for even the little ones to love about this museum.
Lovely place, which I enjoyed in lovely company.
Great museum. Terrific permanent collection and they always have something g new and interesting.
We had a great time visiting the museum, there's quite a bit to see. Unfortunately we got there a little late so we were surprised when we were told they were closing but we were able to finish looking at everything. If you're in town, I would say definitely check it out because you can get through there in an hour and a half no problem. I didn't feel comfortable taking pictures so there are none from me on this stop.
Hurry to see Above the Fold. It's a beautifully curated exhibit of origami. From ephemeral to paradoxically weighty in character, historically ancient to futuristically modern this exhibit is broadly appealing. You can even learn to fold origami cranes, foxes, and other shapes. Thanks to the designer of the exhibit for helping my 13 year old nephew fold a crane.
The variety of really cool pieces fuses art and archeology from around the globe, and it's just the right amount of space so you can learn something without needing to rush through to see it all. Keep an eye on the time since its metered parking!
A most memorable mother's Day brunch
Jewelry was exquisite. We caught a docent and were able to tour the main galleries with this knowledgeable woman and other guests. It was awesome to see the historical pieces!
Would give it a 10 if possible. Great assortment of art and history. Only negative... that doesn't affect the museum exhibit. Was told we could see it in an hour when we arrived at 4pm.. NO WAY . You need 2 to 3 hours Plan your visit with enough time to get the most out of the experience.
Good exhibit, beautiful building. Gift shop and handicapped accessible entrances and restrooms.
Fun place. Take docent tour to get full affect
A wonderful display of Schlumberger jewelry. Circa 1940's. Tiffany era elegance. Spectacular! Varied display rooms, sculptures and open air exhibits. Very refreshing
Parking is scarce in the area, finally paid ten dollars to park in their very small lot. It cost over 40 dollars to get in for 2 adults and one teen. The exhibits were okay, but most of the abstract and political art is not my thing. I thoroughly enjoyed the rooms with ancient Hindu art, classical Greek Roman and Egyptian art. I also enjoyed the rooms with Baroque and Renaissance paintings, although from lesser known period artist's, it was still enjoyable, and captured the period style. The next impressive room for me, was the impressionist paintings. There were two paintings in one room from the well known American artist Georgia O'keefe. The upstairs portion of the museum only had one room with art. I was hoping for more exhibits. In one room is a cuneiform tablet from ancient Babylon, it would have been nice if there was information on what the tablet said? Although such tablets were usually business transactions or contracts, but still would have been fascinating to read the translation. Although it was a little overpriced, I'm glad I visited. I would recommend, if you can afford the price.
