If you like the aligators and are interested in the indian culture, this village is something you need to see
Great tour of real baking, sewing & carving work that goes on to be sold in the on-site shop, good museum. Lots of rescue Alligators with a fantastic and informative show on them. Food is reasonable. There is a walk over a boardwalk through the area with nice chickees with hammocks as rest stops. Also has free archery. Good day out which gives an insight in to the current and previous generations of Miccosukee.
Miccosukee Indian Village. A great experience for the family. It’s a different and interesting way to spend the day and learn more about other people from America. The original tribes of the country. You can also enjoy an alligator
Interesting historical experience with some alligator wrestling thrown in. Well worth the trip out if you're in or around Miami.
Worth the trip down from Fort Lauderdale. Airbiat ride and Vand Exhibits we have there are not run by Native Americans. Airboat, the exhibit and education about the culture and the past and now is well worth the ride. Alligator demonstration was good.
It was ok... nothing that blew me away. I would have liked more cultural awareness to draw people's interest.. including mine. I was bored but curious.
I went for the arts and crafts festival and had a great time! Very expensive but fun!
Really interesting. We enjoy talking with everyone. The alligators show and the airboat ride are for always to remember. We recommend it to everyone who is traveling to that area.
Entrance 2 adults and 2 kids total about 80 bucks. Show starts every 30 min but 6 people minimum. If you have nothing to do worth to see and spend some time.
Nice settings. You can see beautiful crafts. There is a nice museum explaining the Everglades and the native animals. You can try alligator meat ascwell as chicken or beef if you are not adventurous.
Always interesting. Arts and Crafts Festival always enjoyable
Excellent experience and insight into the culture and history of the Miccoukee Indians
Great place! The food at the grill inside the village is awesome as well. We love going here!
our favorite place to bring guests. Very informative.
This Indian village will show you how this tribe use to live in the Everglades. There is also a Gator wrestler that is not really afraid of the big ones! If you'r lucky, you'll get to pet a baby gator too! Kids love this place! Overall a good place to visit with children
Do not waste your money, the site is not worth of admission fee. Not very educational.
Great guided tour. The guides were full of knowledge and eager to teach about their culture. Great alligator show and you even get to hold one!
The Pow-wow was amazing!!! I want to go back next year
We thoroughly enjoyed the alligator pool. You get to see the alligators up close. We spent most of our time watching them. The museum was nice. Make sure to eat before you get there. Only thing open was the grill with burgers etc. No fry bread or authentic Native American food as we expected. There were about 8 families that waited over 30 min for their food. Was definitely hoping for more interaction and history as we read a lot of great reviews. If you like alligators, it is worth the drive!
A wonderful experience! The village is very well organized with rich cultural programs, native dances, and even alligator wrestling! There are many alligators in a closed area to watch. The museum is excellent too, it gives a great history, there is a guide quite knowledgeable about Miccosukee culture. All the place is clean and well organized! I enjoyed it and recommend it!
Great place. Educational and fun! Friendly tour guides. Very interesting
Nice place to get some knowledge about native American's. Also you can get little show and suggestions how to deal with alligators. And as final part - big open aquarium with many turtles and gators. One of them is unbelievable huge and scary. Even during sleep at the bottom of the pool.
I visit every year. The staff is nice the Village is always improving the grounds
Would have been more interesting if they had more people showing there crafts was disappointed. Paid to see nothing.
The whole experience was off the chain... even though it was raining they made it a very pleasurable experience... I recommend 20 thumbs up
I've always been fascinated by natives, since they are the real Americans. Although the Gift shop is really expensive.
What a great time! Super educational but very fun as well. Family and I loved it! Don't miss out and visit the Miccosukee Indian Village, you won't be disappointed. Everyone is super nice!
Had a very enjoyable airboat ride. I’d highly recommend a hat and sunglasses as the glare from the sun and water can be very intense, the wind from the boat doesn’t help. Also bring water or a drink, there is a stop but there are limited drinks available to cool down. There is some wildlife to see, mostly gators.
Awesome... I'm a tour guide & out of all the "gator places" this is the only one that has it's A GAME ON 100% OF THE TIME
Someone baking bread & a non-indian wrestling a lethargic or drugged gator. That was it.
A beautiful experience.
Riff loves his gators
Reasonably priced for all that you can experience, although most of the "guides" within have limited knowledge, which was very disheartening. A charming Native showed us how fry bread is made and offered samples, but when asked where the tribe attained the flour - she wasn't certain. What else would have been eaten, the area doesn't seem conducive to crops, was anything planted and harvested? Again, not sure. After further questions, she stated that she was Navajo from Arizona and not familiar with the local tribe's history. Very pleasant, please don't get me wrong, but not helpful in learning about the Miccosukee. Another "Native" we questioned about the tribe surviving hurricanes and wildfires - are they evacuated or how would they face such hardships. He explained he is from Columbia, and wasn't really certain. The alligator "show" was done by a young man and his PetSmart assistant, but rather informative. Conversations afterward though, again prove that they knew little once off script. The above aside, it was a really nice experience to witness the way of life, the trade skills, and art - but not very informative beyond what they offer during the demonstration.
Really enjoyable and informative. The alligator talk was amazing! Got to hold one and my boyfriend sat on an adult one.
Very interesting tribe and really nice people
Beautiful and educative place. Makes a person communicate with culture of Miccosukee community of Everglades Florida. Worth visiting
Loved the gator show which was both entertaining and a good learning lesson. After the show it was possible to hold a young gator - pretty cool! The village looks very nice, it's well maintained. Staff here was very friendly. Big kudos to the two guys at the show.
Very nice place
Nice place, great alligator show with a lot of information about the animals.
This place is incredible I’ve been on several airboat rides throughout southern Florida and there’s nothing to compare the one by the Miccosukee tribe. it is very deluxe and if you can spring for it I would definitely recommend taking a private tour for 150 bucks and ask for Elvis as your captain. he’s very knowledgeable warm and will take you places that no other tour operator will take you to
Nice gift shop, after that it went down hill fast, only 3 exhibits were there doing their crafts, stay on the road and go elsewhere
The staff was friendly. I loved the weather , no bugs. The air boat ride was relaxing and one of a kind. V.
The place to stop by to get the full Everglades experience. Hteat food and fun alligator wrestling show.
The show was about a woman playing with an aligator. And there are many of them locked there. Don't encourage them don't go there
Awesome place to visit. Got a lots of new information and knowledge. Fun place for kids and adults. Very very interesting place. It's a must visit if you are in the area.
Nice to experience an airboat ride then followed up by 15 minute show and chance to hold a baby alligator but all pretty average I would say. Service good though.
So Nice To see the hard work they do without technology. And great experience for children
A great place to Visit, we really learned a lot and enjoyed our visit.
It was a wonderful experience
Be one with nature as soon as you step foot in their village.
Great airboat ride
Miccosukee Indian village is a a cultural experience that everyone will enjoy. The Museum and the way of life very interesting.
I have mixed feelings about this place. It has a small museum that tells the story of the Miccosukee Indians, it's a nice and informative museum. They got the gators, the lazy "logs" floating in their pools looking like they enjoy life. A very nice, though a bit boring, park. The gator show, however, honestly made me feel a bit uncomfortable. The guy clearly knew his gators, he knew what to show and how to do it but it seemed like his main trick was to annoy the gators and show how much he could do without them attacking him. Looking around I didn't see a lot of excited happy onlookers, I don't think I was the only one feeling a bit uncomfortable about how the gators were handled - I must admit, though, I have no idea if they were actually treated badly or not. The guy was, as I said, very nice and knowledgeable and the photo op with the baby gator after the show was expertly done and very nice. So, all in all, a mixed experience.
I liked it, I will return next year. Bough Big Foot from a talented woodworker there. Idiot me goes and asks for his business card and looks like an idiot. But I will keep returning! I wish there were workshops throughout the year. Whittling, frybread making, leather working.... anything they do that I cant Id gladly pay to learn.
Great day out. Worth the money. People were lovely.
It is what it is a tourist trap. That however doesn't make airboats and alligator wrestling any less cool.
Bit of a tourist trap. The alligator shows are decent and some nice food. Mostly just for souvenirs without too much added value.
Loved it, great day with the grandkids! Learned alot, everyone was very kind, we plan to come back this winter.
This is a beautiful exhibit of the Miccosukee culture and way of life. The demonstrations were informative and interesting.
Never been their. It's a private living area with several homes.
My wife and I brought our 11-month old son here for the afternoon. Even though it was hot, our son seemed to really enjoy himself. He loved interacting with the people. He especially loved the alligator demonstration and being able to hold and touch the little alligator.
Nice peaceful place
Loved it, very interesting. Well done.
I just love this place so much. We come here with the kids every six month or so. We always get lost in the culture and the beauty surrounding this wonderful place.
Good spot midpoint between Miami & Naples on Alligator Alley...Fast food that's decent but nothing to write home to mother about... Very busy, somewhat expensive...but the rest rooms were clean and the gas was reasonable in price. There aren't many choices in this part of the Area...
Loved Osceola Boat ride!
The drive along alligator alley was scenic, saw a variety of wildlife on our way to the Miccosukee Indian Village. Plenty of parking especially for the handicap. Loved their arts and crafts booth's, they are skilled artisans, so many beautiful wood carvings, and beaded jewelry and native clothing. My favorite as a foodie was the Indian fry bread especially the pumpkin fry bread, deliciously soft, prepared and cooked right in front of you. The alligator show was spectacular, it had you holding your breath as the young man entered the water with them, and started the show at the same time as he informed you how they are one on one with nature. Great for the family!
My husband and I had the airboat ride and it was great fun!! The guide was so good, not only great driver but also gave us a good chat about Miami and the history of the Native Indians. Would highly recommend this!
Great interactive experience with lots of history and things to do. I had visited this place a little while back and was able to take some great pictures.
I've always been interested in Native American culture but didn't know much about the Micosukees since I'm from a different area. Good tour and exhibits, music, dancing and, of course, Flat Bread.
It was asom we enjoyed it very much.
Good place to visit once, everything is overpriced, the food wasn't as you would expect. We ordered crocodile meat and it was very oilly and we couldn't eat. Is a good chance to see turtles and aligators and every hours is a poor show with the aligators.
Educational and entertaining. The gators are beautiful. The airboat tour was excellent.
Awesome place. A must see
We didn't take the tour but did visit the gift shop. I purchased a beautiful piece of pottery that was reasonably priced.
Great place to visit who likes old historical things, tribes and off to the urban places..
Must visit! Beautiful grounds and exibits, smart and friendly staff, plus Alligators! Nothing less than a unique and wonderful experiance for all ages. A must visit for anyone that is interested in Florida's rich history, and the native people that've lived here for generations. If history isnt your thing or you have kids to entertain, the alligator wrestling shows are incredible! Miccosukee's brave professionals are very knowledgeable and very obviously have a very deep love and respect for the animals and cultural history of the Everglades.
A historical preservation of an early north American civilization with a museum and outdoor area of activities. Alligator show is educational and entertaining.
Amazing show with alligators! the whole village is building amazing memories! Amazing experience!
Had a good time seen the alligators and the alligator show very exiting, kids would love it
Main village, airboats, alligator wrestling and gift shop are an hour east of Naples on the Tamiami Trail. If you want a large airboat they have the newest and largest; 15 passengers. Natives are friendly and helpful. Prices are typical for the area. They have a resort, hotel and casino about a half hour further east, just before you get to Miami.
Fell in love with this place ... great show... the reptiles were in no danger no stress during the show .. they were very informational and professional ... the kids were fascinated... the artesian work done is beautiful ... I highly recommend anyone in the area or in town to take the trip out there ..
Very informative museum, great gator show, friendly staff. I recommend this to everyone interested in history and life of the Miccosukee tribe of Indians - it's definitely worth the visit!!!
Buffet 20 dollars! This got it be a joke. Don't come to the buffet guys, it is simply not worthy. It is a ripoff
The best frybread that I have ever tried people should come out and try it ask for Lora
It's interesting to read and see how natives lived and lives today. Just sad to see how everybody, including Indians, try to charge for everything. Their museum was not interesting enough.
Brought our grandchildren and they had a blast. Super fun for the whole family.
Educational, colorful & plenty to do in one day.
John was knowledgeable and professional on the boat. We loved our Air Boat rids! Great experience.
Fun they have alligator shows. Also interesting how the American Indians lived in such a rough terrain. Nice museum.
Best time great airboat rides then go across street to village you won't believe your eyes all of the Amazing tours ham gators fights some much to say I had a great time
Such a great educational experience, from learning about the miccosukee tribe to the local vegetation and wildlife.
Must go and see if you are visiting Miami. It is wonderful place to appreciate our lifestyle right now and to see how Miccosukee survived and still preserving their culture. Air boat is amazing ride to reach to the village. Also, there is alligator farm on the way. You can have a free photo with baby alligator.
Came here for their annual festival. We had a great day watching their dance performances, alligator wrestling and shopping at all the vendor booths. Would definitely return next year!
Very interesting village. I took the tour which included a brief lesson and the Miccosukee tribe's history and culture followed by an alligator show.
Very nice place. Informative museum and storytelling as well as a good Aligator-show!
Most of the "Native American" gifts are the same Hong Kong souvenirs that you can find being sold in gas stations.
We came during "off season" and were pretty much alone other than a couple speaking a foreign language and being filmed. The staff sort of ignored us and focused on the couple being filmed... At one point during the alligator show the camera guy stood right in front of my family and we couldn't see... We were the only other people at the show... I had to tell the guy to move as the staff watched without care... Not how I would think things should have gone... Especially from a tribe claiming the values they do...
We weren't sure what to expect but we found it entertaining. We wanted to see some gators and they had plenty! The girls got to hold one of the babies which was the highlight for them. They have a short walk, and a museum explaining the tribal history and culture. The have a grill with burgers and a few other things. I enjoyed learning about the history and meeting some of the people who live and work there. The crafts are intriguing and a huge part of their culture. It is a bit spendy and it seems like maybe not all the craft stations were running, but it was worth it just for the experience.
Nice educational stop about native Floridians. Love the alligator wrestler what a cutie. Enjoyed the fry bread.
Really nice place.
The Village was rather boring, depending on what you're expecting. Basically, it was a short walk-through, with some Alligators in the center, plus a small room with some history on the walls. They call it (museum). It was very quiet, and there wasn't much to do at all. The alligator show was extremely short, and not very informative/entertaining. Maybe it was a slow day, but you would expect much more presentation, entertainment and communication from the Natives themselves. There was absolutely no contact with them during our visit. The air boat ride was a bit better, as we got to experience nature andntye outdoors a little, but it was still lacking. You ride to an old village where you get off, learn a little about how the environment and how the Natives use to live. You then walk around real quick and get back on the boat to head back. The total ride time was about 8 minutes. Overall, I'd recommend going for those who've never been there and are curious about it, but I wouldn't expect much. Perhaps it is a bit better on different days.
Pow Wow was so enlightening. Very educational and everyone was friendly. Loved the experience
When ever I get hungry for alligator I always stop in and the menu is great and the drive is lovely
Fine souvenirs..
I loved my experience. As a descendant (Great-Great Grand Parents) of both Creek and Cherokee ancestors, I felt a deep connection to the people and to the land. I was extremely pleased with the show. They let my boys hold a baby gator and my boys were not scared at all. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well. They answered all my questions as well my families. It was a lovely ending to a perfect vacation.
A good way to know about Miccosukee history and culture, more than I had expected!
The best place to get a Everglades boat tour. Nice people. Must see if you are in Florida
We enjoyed the festival and had a opportunity to take with tribal members from several states!
Nice place
Where are the Indians, the dances, the cultural learning experience? Place is completely watered down to the point where it seems just a lame excuse for charging you money. Unless there is a festival or special event going on , don't bother. The whole place could have been artificially recreated and have same effect. There is no authenticity. Not worth the drive, the time or money spent.
We the consumers ..are peying for their problems with IRS because they rise the ATM feeds to take out cash and also in the restaurand ..come on people fix those machines and i hope the consumers offices place an audit for this place because they are taken the honest people money without punishment ..i hope they go down for fraud !!! I try 7 differents machines with $900 and NONE paids me a single dollar doesn't sound weird and fishi.. They gov have to do something with this casino .
Love it. Very authentic. Everyone there was polite and very informed. Will definitely go back some day
I went there for a field trip and it was really fun to learn about the different cultures
wild, exclusive for some additional tips, but really kind of VIP tour, if you look for it
Absolutely awesome. Immersed in South Florida Native Indian Culture. My girlfriend loved it!!
Omg, it was AWESOME. We were there for a field trip. The guided tour was spectacular. The ladies in the gift shop was pleasant and efficient.
We had a very fun time visiting here after the amazing airboat tour
I really enjoyed this place! Steven and the nice guy helping him were both super informative and nice. :) I enjoyed the gator show, the museum, and the reptiles.
Awesome. Great Aligator Show
A "must see" if you are in the area. It was cool to see the alligators and the Indian Village in the swamp.
Alligator show was awesome. Lots of rides and unique stuff on sale. Holding the baby gator was the best part of my experience here.
Phenomenal People and Culture. Nature's Beautiful Ecosystem
Great place to bring kids lot of history
Great Native American cultural center
Awesome place to visit. it is very well organized. the alligator wrestling performance was amazing. unfortunately I don't remember the performer's name. he is professional, brave, and funny. very impressed.
Went for the Arts and Crafts Festival. It was informative and interesting. Stayed for what I can only like him too a Christian Church service. The speaker was very profound. I absolutely loved it
Great place to visit and learn about true Florida natives!
This place has great tourist and is bound with their history and the souvenirs and the airboat rides are cool.
Great people, great show and information about aligators.
Lovely gift shop along with helpful staff. It was a nice place to stop after our airboat ride and we got to see this wild alligator!
All and all a great experience. Educational and recreational. Worthwhile and reasonably priced!
Great to see how tradition is maintained here
Nice tour, very educational. TJ was our guide, he was very knowledgeable and good at his job.
Something different and cultural.
such a nice day exploring the village and seeing the animals! the staff is excellent and so is the museum. Totally worth the $15 entrance fee!
Very friendly. Kid friendly. Interesting history and alligator show. Worth visiting.
Fantastic place to visit. Guided tour of the place which the lady gave us all the details about how this tribe came about and it's traditions. See a number of wild gators on route and also out the back.
Beautiful village!! Our tour was great and everyone was very friendly.
We had a blast! Loved learning about a wonderful group of people.
John was my brothers and I airboat captain and he was amazing . He truly cares about conserving the eco system, the Miccosukee Indians history and present , drove very carefully in the waters (unlike some other companies captains who scare off wildlife ) and was so knowledgeable. We came today (4/19/18) and the weather was perfect . John is not Native American but the respect he has for the tribe and land is highly respected. Beautiful museum and very friendly staff . Bless the Miccosukee ❤️
This is a fun place for the entire family. Alligator wrestling, museum, arts and crafts and airboat tours.
Had a wonderful time. Felt really connected with nature after my tour through the village and exciting alligator show with Riff! Cesar and Elvis across the street with the airboat rides provide spectacular customer service. Excellent navigator of the wetlands. Hands down the highlight of my whole trip! Thanks guys!!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff make this a very intriguing destination for a unique day trip. Brought a few friends and had a great time. Excellent souvenir shop also!
Fun and informative. Our group was from ages 8-60. Everyone loved it.
Worst experience ever! It is not a village, just a place where you will pay to eventually buy some products in there. They kept poor wild animals captive just for the show. It is a shame! Don't! pay for it. Annd the cashier let us pay and then told us that no one was there for the shows...considerong the map of the village we thought, OK we can still visit it seems big and we will learn a lot about the Miccosukee... It took us less than 10min to see the entire place. No one was there, even to talked about the craft/ wood techniques... No one lives there. It is just a place for tourists! When we asked for a reimbursement, the guy was ironic and we clearly felt like we've been abused!
Awesome!!! The jewelry and authentic bead work are simply wonderful
This was our last stop in Everglades and we really loved the place. Alligator show was educative and good. They also have airboat rides.
Really enjoyed the aligator show.
I never stop while driving only to get gas. This place intrigued me so that i broke my cardinal rule. Dont stop only for gas. I bought 3 beautiful hand made beaded necklaces.
Went to the annual gathering. Was clean areas. Things were in good working order
Had a great time! The kids loved learning about the alligators!!
Small and not a lot of things to do but a great place to visit for several hours one day.
The guide was pretty bad and was hardly able to follow the script he had learned. People working seemed bored disinterested.
Enjoyed the museum and the people outside doing their crafts.
Nice little roadside place, beautiful jewelry
nice stop if your close by
Had a great time there, was fun and educational
