REVIEWS OF Lightner Museum IN Florida

CHRISTA SKELTON

They have revamped a lot of the space making it feel fresh. Always a welcome walk back in history for us locals and a great way to feel the unique beginning of our town. They've even added a scavenger hunt to keep youngins more engaged (super fun).

Hey B

This was a pretty nest museum. It has a wonderful little pond in the front with birds and koi, a great photo op. The self guided museum is full of neat pieces and rooms to explore. My 8yr old had a lot of fun.

Ivette Vazquez

Beautiful museum with great artifacts & history! So much to see & learn! Highly recommend!

Is good to spend some time and look around

Inara Timirgalieva

Oh, it is must have! Quiet and is not overwhelming. This museum has a lot to see and learn. We liked the musical instruments section, especially the tour from it very knowlegable expert.

Dianna Hampton

Awesome, eclectic museum with excellent, knowledgeable staff. Would recommend going if you have the chance and an interest in art, antiques/beautiful things and architecture.

Sandy R

The museum is great to go to, for a feeling of a bygone era and eclectic pieces in the collection. From Native American artifacts to an Egyptian mummy to porcelain. Sure to excite any collector.

Danttusa T

Great place to visit. Loaded with many historical artifacts and local history. They have been upgrading and changing their displays which makes it worthwhile to visit again and again. I highly recommend it. Try to schedule your visit to a time when they are demoing the music boxes. Awesome.

Christine Horn

Yes. Yes. Yes! The beauty! The art! The history! I took my young daughter for a school-skip-girls day and I assure you, if we lived closer we would have a membership! The building itself and surrounding grounds is its own work of art and beauty. Children under twelve are free, although she was was the only child I saw while there, and she was given a special Scavenger Hunt paper to emerse herself in the museum. It was truly an amazing place to visit and I will most definitely be returning!

Lauren Peeler Brice

What an eclectic collection and a wonderful insight into early 1900’s life. There was something different every time we turned around. Very interesting. Worth the trip, some study, and a return trip. Be sure to take the time to really look at the exhibits and the space. Don’t forget to look up!

Lynn Ventura

Amazing place. So many collections. Degas exhibit currently - well done. In-house Cafe was excellent!

Prashant Gawda

Nice museum, thou small, its well maintained. There are a variety of things that Mr Lightner collected and are exhibited here. Its intresting, but can be skipped in St Agustine. If you have tine do visit.

Caleb Kulpa

Such a beautiful museum. Just the front and the courtyard alone are gorgeous. With the fountains and the running water with the footbridge. It's a great place to go and take pictures. In fact, I believe they have professional photographers available for events like wedding photos and the like. I would definately suggest going and checking this place out.

E Lucas

Beautiful architectural features and interesting collections displayed in a wonderful setting. Well worth the price.

Monica Bauldry

Very interesting! And my 11-yr old niece had a great time on the scavenger hunt!

Luis Crespo

It was such an amazing time. I love all the artifacts and history. I was surprised to find out the the bottom of the ballroom where people dine was actually the hotel's swimming pool. The staff was very friendly and provided great knowledge. This place is a must see. Such a beautiful building. The architecture shows the pride and hard work they put into this place.

madeleine rodriguez

Amazing I really love museum

Barbara Cooper

Awesome experience! The building alone is a treat for the senses . . . not to mention the luscious grounds. I will definitely return!

mumuv2g

My favorite museum. If you like the Gilded/Victorian era, this is your museum! The Downton Abbey and Degas exhibitions have taken the Lightner to a new level.

Yolanda Márquez

This is the former Alcázar Hotel built by Mr. Henry Flagler and one of our favorite places in the old city. What used to be the sauna area forces me to close my eyes and dream of all the action that took place in this historic location. The museum is also a perfect stop to unwind and take a nice break from the powerful humidity outdoors.Beautiful art collections and nice food make this a must visit while in town. Even the restroom added to the visit when it presented a beautiful view through its window which I have to share with others.

Eleanah K.

I don’t want to share too many photos of the inside, because it’s worth paying to to see everything inside! I drove over 2hrs to see it and I most definitely would again! I am obsessed with everything 1800’s! This hotel did not disappoint! I personally did not get the chance to eat in the cafe that was once the worlds largest indoor swimming pool, however I would definitely recommend going to eat, the experience looks phenomenal! If you have any questions, the ladies who work at the museum were so kind and eager to answer any questions you have! I was delighted with facts and details about some of items in the museum! I will definitely be coming back to see the rest that I have not seen!

Karen Rerra

Enjoyed the beautiful building and courtyard. Antiques were very interesting, as was the various glassware, The best was the viewing of the swimming pool. Immense!

E F

I love this museum. When I lived in the area I was in the galleries all the time, so when I visited St Augustine on vacation I had to return. My husband made sure he told everyone he thought the pool and spa accommodations should be renovated for use, mostly because he loved the whole idea of the place so much and he loves to swim.I love the art and the building itself and it's always a pleasure to visit. The gift shop is also delightful in it's collection of turn of the century, gilded age inspired gifts, I can't help myself in there. I'll always return.

Qiyi Yang

It’s an great museum display the collection from Lightner. You can learn the history of this area when joining the music demonstration session. Mr. Lightner collect almost anything and everything which makes the museum full of fun. Kids love to see those animals while adults might love the 3rd floor furnitures. Second floor is mainly for all kids of glassware. You can park your car at Castillo de San Marcos National Monument then walk 10 minutes to Lightner museum.

Troy Toombs

Lots of history and interesting items. Great way to spend an afternoon out of the hot Florida sun.

Christopher Harris

Beautiful on the outside; needing better curation on the inside. Disappointing.

Nikhil P Naik

A museum with some of the finest exhibits. The three floor museum is really gorgeous with amazing decor and superb ambience. To put it in 2 words - Simply beautiful!

orcan alorcan

A noted St. Augustine attraction, housed in the former Alcazar Hotel which was built by Henry Morrison Flagler in 1888. Three floors display furnishings, costumes, Victorian art and natural history specimens.

Pamela Liebelt

This museum is delightful. There is a wide variety in the exhibits from historical to various collections; Buttons to fossils. We could have spent hours here if we had the time.

Kay Gerhard

Very informative and lots to see!

Paul S

Great multiple level museum in historic St Augustine that offers a wide variety of art and artifacts. Even the building is historic.

Raven B

Wonderful museum! I've been at least 4-5 times. The artwork is just stunning.

George Torres

Beautiful architecture, and history, will with the walk through!

grace zultowski

So many beautiful things! So much history of the area! There's more variety then you'd expect, so it was interesting, even to me, who generally hates going to museums. There's everything from paintings and sculpture, buttons and antique cameras, to a mummy and a stuffed lion.On the third floor exit the elevator from the front door, then, when you've finished viewing that gallery, go back in the elevator and exit from the rear door. They are two separate areas: the only other way to access the rear gallery is to go down a flight of stairs and then back up on the other side. The map doesn't make that clear. My teenage granddaughters enjoyed the museum so you know it was something special.

Karen Senn

Great museum. Really enjoyed the different floors. Beautiful displays. A must see.

Shirley Glenn

Best museum I have ever had staff that were available to share information were more than happy to answer all questions and give detailed background of the history. Items in museum were gorgeous and very provocative. It felt like a step back in time

CultofJ

Margo and David are both real treasures themselves and helped me understand and appreciate the history of the museum itself. A wonderful experience!

Chad Lang

Very nice little gardens and areas that you can walk through for free. It was really busy with prom pictures going on when we went, but we still got some nice pictures as we walked around.

Angie Johns

An absolutely wonderful museum and historic building! In the oldest city of St Augustine built by Henry Flagler as a hotel, visited and occupied by some of the richest people of the gilded age. It still has one of the first indoor pools in a hotel in America. I highly recommend!

Ci Ci

Absolutely loved this art collection. Beautiful pieces, very comfortable atmosphere. I loved all of the little stores around it as well. This was an absolutely breathtaking place.

Jamee Hayward

I didn't do anything except walk through it out of curiosity and use the bathrooms, Wich we're very clean and beautiful. But you can eat at the mini restaurant here and I believe there is actually a tour you can take. My husband and I do plan on coming back for a full experience. Cool thing I learned though, this indoor area or 1st floor of the building is what used to be an indoor pool. And the "restaurant" is in the deep end of what was the pool. So that's pretty cool.

Sandy Schlaudecker

Very cool place in St. Augustine. So much to see in the area. Museum was a few dif floors with an elevator. Also nice gift shop. Spent a couple hours here.

Kathy Ford

Wonderful place. Music demonstration was great

Milena Montane

A place full of history, beauty, and interesting facts. It’s also a good place to take pretty good pictures !!

John Colangelo

A unique collection of items. Also they have a demonstration of some of the old music instruments at certain times of day. Very nice way to spend a couple of hours.

Janal Koenig

Went to see the Degas exhibit. By the time we finished we had to leave the building since the mold was so strong. Beautiful building, i like to visit the surounding garden. A major renovation needs to be done on the inside.

Thomas Blinn

This is a remarkable collection of eclectic ephemera. We chose to visit because it was cold and rainy, and we got good on street parking which was free on Sunday. We had an excellent lunch in the swimming pool and very much enjoyed the demonstration of the antique mechanical music devices. Definitely worth a visit.

Dana Mott

Really interesting collection of items from the Victorian era including some oddities that were worth the price of admission!

Leigh Lehhman

Wonderful museum. You must hear the large music box.

Brian Welch

The place is big. It's a good value with many fascinating artifacts. Cool experience. However, no wifi.

Chris Bock

Beautiful Pieces of Art. The staff is Very nice and helpful

li Sakurazukamori

Amazing place!! If I had to pick one historical place to visit in St Augustine this would definitely be it!

Les Himmel

Great place....Lots of history.

ETHAN LIGHTNER

As you can see, this is my museum. I, Mr. Lightner, single handedly crafted this museum. It is the best museums ever. Obviously.

Nicole Cothran

Very interesting history to the place and lots of little places to explore around the courtyard. Closes fairly early though (5pm) as they tend to have lot of special events going on.

Punkie Brown

Very dissappointed with Degas Exhibit. Very few works on display. ADS misleading.. Looked like a collection salvaged from his trash bin. Front Desk cashier too snippy. Price too much. Stain Glass put away during renovations. Used to be one of my favorites.

Chris Balchen

Nice place to take in some history. Eclectic collection.

Michael Roth

Great museum with a wide variety of work and artists. It's quite large but the layout makes it feel very much like a boutique. Highly recommend a stop here when visiting St Augustine.

Brayan Saravia

Beautiful place in the heart of Saint Augustine, it is the perfect place if you are into restoration arts and decoration. The access ticket seemed a little pricey for me but if you are into those things you will definitely find it fair.

michael dean

Well kept museum. The displays are mostly antique collections of ceramics and glassware. It wasn't particularly up my alley as far as my interests go, but antique lovers should have a good time.

Donna Mcdonald

Beautiful museum. 3 floors of awesomeness.

Father Anderson

Beautiful building, great artifacts within the walls of this structure. Interesting history on how it got to become a museum.$15 to get in, and the your was self guided. But, I'd go back again to get a better feel for everything that's in there.

Carmen Iglesias

don't miss this museum! It is an outstanding collection of art in a beautiful 1800's hotel, with amazing presentations. The one from Miss Nancy on the musical instruments that you can actually listen to was just great. I had a bite at the café inside with a pianist until 3 pm. Mr. Lightner, thank you !.I was here in 1991, this year, and I will return.

Angela Graham

Wonderful museum! The architecture of the building is beautiful, too!

Vernon Kilby

Nice collection of Cut glass. Ornate furniture. Some good paintings. Historic Building. And a Restaurant in the pool.

Greg Thompson

As beautiful today as is was in the day..

Zack Winkles

Parole and probation office.... Who likes that?

Joe Proctor

A look back in time at the early 20th century luxury hotel experience. I had lunch with a friend in the historic pool turned dining area. This is a must see when in St Augustine Florida.

Donna Keammerer

Good food, atmosphere was beautiful. It's hard to get around in the area because of all the walking.

Phil Gainey

One of my favorite museums! Lots of interesting and unique exhibits with new things to see on rotation. We absolutely loved the Turkish bath house section!

Lindsey Greene

Quite a few different collections here, so you get to see a wide range things. We saw some of the musical instruments played which was cool. It's in an old hotel, and a few of the rooms are shown in pictures as they were. The pool is now the restaurant. Pretty interesting.

Kelly Roy

I enjoyed my visit here. We spent 2 hours walking, talking and reading the informative placards by each exhibit. The staff that initially greets you could be a little warmer, but that was offset by the very nice staff on 2nd and 3rd floors. I’d say it’s worth a visit.

Thomas Watkins

Very neat things to look at.

Kathi Connelly

It's historic and beautiful

j M

Very instructive , amazing demonstration of the mechanicals musical instruments from the last century

Weed And Wilderness

Wow. As a tour guide described it, this is a collection of collections. A true sight to see for anyone that is a history buff. So much information and history. Loved every minute of it!

Chris Robinson

Amazing museum! A great way to spend an afternoon.

Candy Nardini

We went to the Lighnter Mueseum on Mother's day 2019, and it was wonderful. The Museum was beautiful and my daughter had a great time doing the scavenger hunt. I recommend visiting the Museum

Earl Cohen

We enjoyed our visit to the Lightner -- it's not a huge museum, but it has a varied collection of things of historic, scientific, and artistic interest, as well as being in a historic building. The glass collection, in particular, was a high point.

Suzanne

It’s a nice museum but the questions we had no one was able to answer. Some the didn’t even know was the case until we pointed it out. Would have loved more information. It would be great if the people assigned to that floor was trained on the pieces more or had more answers.

Mary Lodge

Beautiful views of courtyard and inside of museum. Beautiful architecture was once an upscale hotel.

Martin Pettigrew

Must stop and see ... we had lunch here and visited the museum. We had the stroller and toddler were worry about him braking items or getting bored but he was either! So many items from mommie to unique China... even have thrones!! Must see

Luba B

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this museum. I went on the Smithsonian Museum Day but was still able to see all the exhibits without it being overly crowded. The gift shop is lovely. Everyone that I sent the gifts to from here was happy with them.

Tito Joya

Lovely building, but $20 is too expensive for a small collection of famous paintings. Not worth it unless you've already done everything else in SA. Lovely if you can afford $20. Visit the courtyard for free.

Z VN Ldradio

We thought it was great! My kid even met a schoolmates so lots of families today#

Anand Ramabhadran

Was expecting free access as I wanted to browse there for a short time only. Museum looked good from outside and a few pieces in the open area looked promising. Need a couple of hours if you want to do justice to the 15$ entrance fees.

Charryl Wood

Beautiful museum, friendly and educational staff. The only downfall is if you happen to use a wheelchair or walker and want to eat in the restaurant (which used to be the indoor pool back in the day) you have to exit the building and walk around to the side to enter. It seemed to me that when they installed an elevator they should have made the restaurant easily accessible for those who are handicapped. With that being said we ate at a small, comfy restaurant just outside the museum

Uriah Smith

Wonderful museum. staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. Great piece of history to explore.

Myra Johjnson

Beautiful, interesting, educational. Signs for each display so you know and understand what you are looking at.

Lyn Webb

I recommend this for adults. Not necessarily a place that children would enjoy. The different collections were wonderful. Each in our group had their favorite area. Everything from Crystal to arrowheads, beautiful cradles to tobacco containers. The gift shops were great and be sure to have a sandwich in the former indoor swimming pool.

Debbie S

If you are a fan of period or vintage clothing and artifacts, make sure you have plenty of time to look through the many interesting collections at this museum. Also, take the time to have lunch in the restaurant, the Alcazar Cafe? that's in the (empty) swimming pool. The menu it's small, but varied and the food was excellent and fresh. Service was good. This was an interesting place with a fascinating history.

alekxa90

Lovely place. The collection is eclectic and witty. In order to understand the actual collection you need the help from the guides. Margo and Daniel were awesome and really well verse on the quirks of the collection. The architecture of this place is magnificent but needs restoration. I would have love to see a curated exhibit of what the rooms looked in the hey days as well as see at least one restored bedroom of the era. The building itself is a masterpiece getting lost on the eclectic collection. Magnificent place to visit if you love antiques, history and architecture.

Rachel Conville

This was the most interesting museum I've experienced so far. The history is amazing!

Gareth James

Relatively cheap and incredibly interesting, yet another fun thing to do on St. Augustine

margot frasier

One of my favorite places to see beautiful art works, wood carvings and tiffany glass just awesome.

Sandie Parrott

Wonderful museum with all types of collections...shells, minerals, ornate furniture, paintings, porcelain, statues, mechanical curiosities, you name it! At 11am and 2pm there is a demonstration of mechanical musical instruments and boxes...a must see! For the handicapped or challenged, the parking lot is at the far end of the building. I recommend a drop off. It is a ways to walk. The cafe is lovely, with very good food. It is located on the main floor in an area where they filled in the original pool. The museum used to be the Hotel Alcazar...the wonderful and ornate structure remains, especially the grand lobby and the front garden, bridge and koi (huge fish!) ponds. Lovely gift shop! To exit the building, you can leave near the restrooms, by the cafe. Much closer to the parking lot! You can also arrive by the hop on...hop off trolley. It brings you right to the entrance. Highly recommend!

Lynda Ferri

Lots of cool stuff to look at. Interesting to see what the hotel provided for their guests. The Degas exhibit was fascinating. We also enjoyed our lunch in what was the pool. The food was delicious and our service was terrific.

James Colt

The demonstration of old-time musical instruments was fun and informative.

George Wyatt

What a GREAT place to visit on a hot and humid Florida day. Be sure to get reservations for a fabulous lunch

Deisai

It is a good half day to a full day visit. They have a bit of collection of everything. The old music machines in 2nd floor are fan, also in 3rd floor they have a few interesting rooms used to be hotel spa room.

Dotti Rubino

Such a unique a delightful place to visit for the Arts & Antiques and also when they offer music

Jasmyn Lyons

Informative museum with art and intricate details everywhere you look. Over flowing with rich history and very well designed layout of the museum. Takes about an hour and a half to go through it all. Would definitely go again.

Juan Salinas

Very beautiful and a nice place to take pictures

Rodney Smith

The Lightner Museum is a beautiful and impressive building on the outside but not so special on the inside. It has a huge collection of novelties. But don't expect details of history or aquisition.

eveline crozier

Architecturally pleasing museum. Their collection is very eclectic and there are some real gems there.

Nivine Faraj

Would definitely revisit. Not a huge museum but lots of interesting artifacts and antiques and beautiful grounds. Harpist and Silhouette Artist inside were very talented and created a beautiful ambiance. Many photo opps all over. Quaint gift shops around courtyard. Awesome koi pond. Cafe inside that was a bit pricey but served delicacies like escargot. All in all a beautiful well spent couple of hours on our adventure through Saint Augustine.

Nicole Arbour

Amazing. Great pieces and exhibits from the turn of the century.... 20th century. Lol

Pamela Ayres

Awesome presentation of Degas prints and drawings today. Nice gift shop and very friendly docents.

Donna Smith

Amazing museum. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. All the exhibits are well placed and with lots of interesting things to see.

Matt P.

Definitely a place to visit. Cool exhibits, great pieces to view.

Jean Padgett

Lovely museum but no available parking and the advertised Degas exhibit was small considering the additional expense. There needs to be parking for museum patrons included in the public parking lot . I will recommend the museum to out of town friends. Docents were excellent

Erin Brooks

Had a great time with my family

Bob Tee

Beautiful museum and it definitely should be included on your trip to St. Augustine. Admission is very reasonable. Finding parking can be challenging but can be found close.

Dominic Martinez

Enjoyed this place with the family.

Darryl Coppenhaver

Lovely museum filled with a large collection of collections. The attraction is first the building that was first a hotel for the rich visiting Florida in the early 1900's. The collection of Lightener is surprising entertaining.. something in each room to amaze you!

Arfan Farooqi

When I visited the facility was closed due to the "Partial" government shutdown, so we walked around the outside and the park grounds for our visit. It was just after Christmas and the historic area of St. Augustine was lit up with beautiful lights and decorations. We were not able to wrestle up tickets for the horse and buggy tours (due to our time constraints), but many other people were willing to wait up to 4 hours in the cold to experience it. This place is a great place to visit for a whole weekend or even just a few hours.

ASD Jules

Beautiful art and artifacts. Great way to escape the rain or heat.

Evelyn Morales

Wonderful experience! Spent hours in the museum and still didn't get to see all of the exhibits! I was very pleasantly surprised and loved going back in time! Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and friendly!

Tom Lemrow

This is one of my favorite places to visit in St Augustine. If you are a local St John's Counry resident and are looking for something to do on a Sunday, this is free! For the rest of the week it is reasonably priced for the history offered. They even have a scavenger hunt for the kids. We have been a few times and every time we go there is something new! The museum does a lot of interaction with local artist. It's nice to see new things when we go. They also offer a military discount! This is a must see on you trip to St. Augustine!

Diane Scheirman

It’s definitely a unique place to visit. Not what I was expecting at all. I did love the art pieces and a lot of the glassware. The building itself is beautiful and I love the fact that the pool (once upon a time) was transformed into a restaurant I believe.

David Hooper

My wife and I love taking our 1 year old. It is a nice collection and helps you to feel the history and provide a nice educational experience.

Carol Haley

Unique setting in bottom of a once gigantic indoor swimming pool, good food. Great location downtown museum.

mahinder hans

Good collection of old-time musical instruments and home stylish items

Michael Premo

This museum has the largest collection of gilded age antiquities I have ever seen. It's a fascinating look into how affluent Americans and Europeans coveted particular things, from furniture to trinkets. Definitely worth the cost of admission for history buffs.

David Kurlander

Beautiful architecture but a relatively boring collection. Lots of history but not a place for children. Also no real master pieces of art. It’s worth doing if you’ve already done everything in Saint Augustine.

Edgar Maisonave Jr

A piece of history wonderfully preserved and open for your viewing pleasure with fine dining and exquisite artwork. Located in the heart of St. Augustine. It's a must see.

Kalepherion

Well worth it. The history, the beauty is worth it. The musical instruments are too cool.

Carlos Vargas

What a wonderful resource! Lots of history and things to do. We enjoyed our walk to the top of the lighthouse.

Richard Smith

19th and 20th century collection of art inside the family residence.

Angel Piatt

Beautiful place. A must see.

Ashleigh Miller

A beautiful place to visit. Friendly staff with wonderful information.

Kat C

This was such a fun museum. The front-desk attendant was extremely helpful, and the museum had a lot of gorgeous works and exhibits. The glass-work is astounding, and sadly we weren't able to see the stained glass because it is being fixed. But it was really unique and fun.

Paul Francis

Pretty nice collection of pieces mostly from the 1800's. Would have liked to have seen a preserved room from the time it was a hotel, but they did not have that.

Christina Morrison

Beautiful and interesting!!! lots of stuff to look at from the old days. The husband and I spent 3 hours in there looking at everything..... great place for only $15 a person....

Bonnie Hayflick

Permanent and visiting exhibits are world class.

Dean Robertson

Very cool museum. Gorgeous furniture on the upper floors. (I'm a woodworker so I loved every carving) Will definitely go here again.

Brent Patten

A very unique place to visit! A huge part of Florida history that I'm glad I got to experience. We went while they were giving a music demonstration on time period instruments which I highly recommend.

Edena walton

Beautiful building with a rich history. The staff is welcoming & helpful. A must visit when you're in town!

Rachelle Byers

Great collections and history! Love it! Kids scavenger hunt!

Whitney McGinniss

Fantastic museum inside and out. The architecture and outdoor courtyards are beautiful. Inside there is such a variety of things to see. My personal favorites were the Victorian village and the photos of the old hotel pool. We also attended the demonstration of the musical instruments, which was very fascinating and educational. My daughter enjoyed completing the “treasure hunt”. All the staff were not only friendly, but knowledgeable and enthusiastic. One of our favorite stops on our recent St Augustine trip.

Shyam Paryani

The history is amazing. The collection is limited with only a few paintings. The Cafe Alcazar is a must. The music room session held at 11am and 2 pm is very interesting.

Maria Murphy

It's a beautiful piece of st Augustine history. Lots of pieces from collections that tell a whole story about American oldest city and the patrons of it. Great to spend the day with your kids. Lots to walk around and volunteers who have great passion for what they do

Heather Mouro

To see places like this in person is just amazing! What it must have been like to have been a guest here back in Henry Flaglers time. Such a beautiful building.

Chris Smith

Beautiful and full of historical artifacts. Had a great time here and the cafe in the pool is top notch. You can’t do a trip to St. Augustine without a stop here. Also, at night the Christmas lights are quite beautiful. It would have been an amazing experience to have stayed at this hotel before it became a museum. I very much recommend taking the tour.

Evan Amo

One of the staff called me Ricky Martin. My girlfriend still makes fun of me. Absolutely beautiful artwork and design. And I had snails for the first time!

Justin Wells

Beautiful, historic. Definitely a place to check out when visiting St. Augustine.

Charles Kashary III

We had a fairytale wedding in the pool!

Liuda Villis

Very nice museum with few antic musical instrument still working, antic furniture, dishes and other old but beautiful stuff

Shawni Goldtrap

My husband and I drove over an hour to visit -we were not disappointed! Otto Lightener liked to collect things and boy was he successful. What an eclectic collection of Stuff!

Evgeny Pavlov

Been there twice. Explored historical bathroom this time

Theresa Wagar

What an architectural treat. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed the amazing collection. It was neat to see where the swimming pool was

nancy ross

Fabulous! Do much history and beautiful things

Jason Gutmann

Some of the best exhibits of priceless antiquities imaginable are within those ancient walls. My advice- go there before 11 so you can see the guide play the old player pianos and other musical instruments, then enjoy a delectable lunch in the Alcazar Café, located in what used to be the old indoor swimming pool.

The Aquatic Tier

It was boss but I couldn't go in cause mommy said so >:(

G W

A lovely order building that used to house a hotel and community swimming pool in the center. A must tour, as well as the courtyard with the Koi fish in the pond which you can feed.

Roberta Dzubin

We attended a wedding in the chapel. Very sweet chapel, but disappointed that the museum coffee shops closed so early. We hoped to have a quick bite after the ceremony while the pics were taken in the courtyard.

Marty Whitney

How could you go to St. Augustine and not go to one of the most well known museums in the United States. Not only is it awesome and beautiful architecture but the history of the museum is interesting. This is and always will be one of my favorite places to go. They even have a restaurant in the area which used to be a swimming pool!

Randy Coker

So many things to see here ! Love the history of the old hotel and the different collections of Mr. Lightner. He was such an interesting man.
