This Museum is classified in the category of Art museum.
I liked the art over here. The staff in the museum is very friendly. It is better to politely enquire about the art to them for the deep insights and abstract interpretations.
It's really nice but I wish they didn't take out the cool interactive 3rd floor, with the dark maze that im pretty sure was just a big dark room
Art galore!!! Free admission!!! 5.00 valet parking
A place for modern day artist with revolutionary Ideas and unlimited creativity. LOVE ICA
I was amazed by the museum interior and is immaculately maintained. Security is best which is a good thing in my opinion.
Some of the pieces are really interesting. Museum is pretty small - thought we would spend the afternoon there, but we saw the whole museum in about 45 minutes.
Beautiful building with good art display. Check their patio
even though the 2nd and 3rd floor were closed that day, the first floor had us in a pleasant experience and the art was really quite amazing, and I was surprised to see a brazilian artist there! :)
Good exhibitions and free!
Great place to visit. FREE.
Really cannot believe this tour is free as it was phenomenal!! Very much enjoyed the tour of the exhibits! Josh and Yadira were SO well versed in their descriptions and explanations letting us know the artist's intent which made the art even more thought provoking!
Bayrle exhibition up until March 2017. Most works are more than just flat pictures hanging on a wall, so definitely worth seeing in person if you are into hyper contemporary art.
A new museum but well run and very serious. Probably the best of miami...minimal shows...give them a few years and they ll be great
This is an architectural gem featuring thought provoking art in an emerging, artsy neighborhood. An oasis of design style. we loved it.
This gallery is super wonderful. The staff are extremely informative - especially Gladys. The exhibits are well selected and curated. I visited a few times while in Miami. There’s lots to think about in here.
First Friday of every month is my NOW-Favorite day to go visit this elegant place. The garden in the back is very peaceful.
Cool curated shows. Always free.
Really nice place and exhibits. Well worth the trip to see.
49 well known Afroamericans fighters are honored in this exbition. This video shows the moment when a son of these afroamerican fighters sees the medal that are exhibited to honor his father.
I enjoyed my visit immensely and look forward to the completion of the renovations and the grand reopening in late November 2018.
Free entrance museum. Backpacks are not allowed, you will be asked to leave it in the locker. One hour is more than enough to roam around two floors
Outstanding venue in MDD. 3 Floors of contemporary art. Great architecture. Do not miss the garden!
Nice museum
Amazing space and wonderful exhibits - definitely worth a look in any touring around this area! Very friendly staff too.
Just walk in and enjoy
Three stars because it's good to have one more contemporary art venue in Miami with free admission. However out of 5 galleries there were no women artists represented. And some of the work was clearly misogynistic with no obvious explanation or context. I question the curatorial choices. Would not return.
Loved this museum! Not only is it free, but it has three floors with different exhibits. I really enjoyed the exhibit by Ettore Sottsass. Friendly and welcoming staff, well worth the visit.
Located in the Design District, ICA offers free kids’ workshops on Select Sundays and free access to their exhibitions...
I can't believe it took me this long to check this place out. I love art specially contemporary and modern art. It's a great place to visit. Their garden is a nice place to sit, read, and be surrounded by sculptures. I had an amazing experience. Will be back and I am considering a membership as well. Love, live, art.
Nice, clean, interesting and free!
Exhibition was quite interesting, but the exterior design of the place is just breathtaking. Basically, it was more impressive then everything inside
Beautiful small museum. I wish there were more places like this around. Larry Bell's current exhibition was a great example of good museography and appropriation of the space. Love it!
Incredible museum of contemplating art. There are 3 floors, often with different exhibitions on each. Theres a lot of light and it's great to walk around. The sculpture garden outside is really nice. Also, admission is free! Definitely check it out - and you can combine with a visit to De La Cruz collection nearby.
Wonderful
A must see while you are in the area
A cool contemporary art museum in Miami Design Destrict. Spacious, w/ great staff and brochures. Free admission.
We enjoyed our visit to the ICA in the Design District in Miami. We saw so many unique and interesting installations. We also climbed up and down a multitude of steps.
This place is a breath of fresh air in the arts scene. The parking garage facade is unbelievable, and the exhibits are well curated. Certainly worth a visit.
Really interesting
We love the Design District
I had a weird but very interesting and unique experience. Try the black room if darkness doesn't scare you. And one more thing: they have the largest elevator I've ever seen. Don't forget to use the stairs. Some very interesting glass paintings are hanging on the walls. Overall impression: interesting.
Notable exhibits, could not miss Judy Chicago.
Awesome place to rest from your daily routine.
Excellent, but depending on the current installations. Beautiful space and well-presented. This is a gem in the area.
More an experience of the history of Contemporary art than its practice on this visit but very compelling as such.
Amazing building and architecture.
Good collection.
Hated it! They support corrupt politicians from Brazil.
Free, cheap parking, friendly but the art itself i don't understand. It is not for all kinds of people.
This place is extra cool. The exhibits they had were very cool and really had me thinking differently. The team was friendly and I really appreciate it being a free space. Thank you!
Great experience, on the smaller side.
A nice exhibition place with a splendid garden for modern art.
beautiful venue, great expositions.Loved it.
A nice museum, and certainly worth the free admission :) some interesting pieces, and the placards on the side do a good job of explaining why the piece is interesting. That said, some of the art did feel a little pointless. The museum is not very large. It's 3 floors (with an elevator), and we got through it in about an hour.
Good
Always something interesting to see here
Nice museum and beautiful arts!
Nice place for the kids to see something different
Great exhibits and nice facilities.
Friendly staff, some interesting art. Not a huge space but still fun to explore.
amazing Art
A new building in Miami Design District. Is amazing place with many details.
A fabulous exhibit from architect Ettore Sottssas
Place has potential.
Beautiful building and very nice space for art exhibit. The content needs to be needed up thoigh
Pretty pretty district with relevant art
Some pretty thought provoking stuff to see. Parking ramp across the street was even cool. Great view from the roof. Free to visit. Cheap parking. High end designer stores in the area. Cool to walk around and look even if you can't afford to buy.
Very nice institute, multiple levels of amazing art. If you are a lover of art then you'll enjoy yourself and if your lucky you'll see the cat that likes to hangout there. If a cat loves it then you should too.
This was N extremely beautiful free museum and even the museum garage was decorated. The only thing that I didn’t not like was that people with strollers had to give their strollers away . So with a toddler I was unable to go through the whole museum because the stroller was the only thing keeping my child from touching things. It was exhausting and although they didn’t allow me to bring my baby bag into the museum they did give me a tote to place my necessities inside . The staff was extremely friendly and even told about a family night event they have.
Very good. Free.
Parking lot is a lot more art-related than the museum. The reason it's free is that it isn't worth anything I guess.
I went to this museum full of no knowledge at all. Yadira showed me around for 2 hours and told me about each painting in detail and where it comes from, along with the hidden messages the painting has. She was amazing and the museum is truly beautiful.!
Is very nice. But The 3er floor I'm not sure if I like or not
The only thing I liked was the staff and the worlds biggest elevator.
I invite you to visit this amazing museum of Contemporary Art on the heart of the Design District with a beautiful garden with fun and great pieces of sculptures on it. I will be coming back for every new exposition , this is Free, no excuses not to go to enjoy a walk of art on a great place. Miami is changing and I appreciate places that stimulate culture and art.
Wonderful eclectic art with lovely garden and outdoor space
A- | Very contemporary art that is catered to the artistic. Being that this is in the design district it benefit the community.
Great place I love that it’s open to the community.
Beautiful place!
Free musuem with an outdoor sculpture garden and rotating exhibits
Very interesting and the staff is super friendly!
Very cool museum and it's free!
I never know about this place until my friend showed me the location, nice and clean. Staffs were very nice. So many amazing works of art here for you to enjoy.
Really interesting place. If you're in the area, I would make time for it. As of this review, the third floor was closed as they were changing exhibitions.
Had a fun and educational visit.
A great time spent at a well curated gallery. Highly recommend visiting the ICA if you enjoy contemporary art.
The free fun activities for the children and the sculpture garden.
Lovely find in the heart of the expensive Design District. Current exhibit has thought provoking pieces which signifies that today's society hasn't really learnt from history.
Free museum, albeit a bit empty
Best burger I've ever had
Beautiful and neat entrance ....Nice museum different, but nice..I took my kids 2 weeks ago and they actually enjoyed it...They gave them a small bag of goodies to use while they were at the museum. It had like a magnifying glass and word scavenger hunt...They enjoyed it...They have a beautiful outside area where you can also take pictures.
Free, great facility, ok art
This is an exciting venue for innovative contemporary art. It is a vibrant, fresh experience. The museum is new and yet it has the seeds of greatness. The direction the brand are what will carry it farther then imaginable because of the demand to bring this experience to Miami. I have loved all of the exhibits thus far. Deborah Scarpa
Interesting, enjoyable and small enough to complete (at least superficially) in one day.
Free entry with rotating exhibits. Was pretty nice to see the different pieces and the staff was friendly. No strollers or backpacks are allowed inside the gallery they do have a bag and stroller area that is free check if you do have ti have any of that
A much needed small contemporary art museum in the heart of Miami, with parking garage across the street!
Nice place and location. A small fee should be arranged for parking for those who are not members.
Fabulous Judy Chicago exhibit and Art Week opening w/refreshments - once again no charge for the public!
Very nice museum/gallery in Miami's Design District. Welcoming staff, great architecture, interesting exhibition.
Wonderful space with excellent exhibits. There was no charge which was a pleasant surprise.
nice garden area
Yiu should go and see for yourself, art is in the eye of the beholder
My expectations were not met
Excellent and the best part of it is that it’s free.
Perfect place to go in design district miami
Small but beautiful place. Its free and close to midtown as well as vizcaya
Excellent tour guide!! Great exhibits, too.
This is a very cool place to visit. Artist tell a story in each room. Very interesting. Inside and outside art.
Nice place to kill 1 hour... 3 floors of different art, was not quite sure about the concept. In general was nice experience while visiting Miami
Nice modern museum in an upcoming Rodeo Drive of Miami area. I was hoping to see more exhibits which would have earned 5 Stars. Maybe more will come in time.
Stunning place. Had fun with the fam.
Three floors of work by contemporary artist. Weekend violin players (first floor) Beautiful courtyard.
Well worth the trip from Broward. On a Saturday morning early, we got a parking spot right across the street. Pay by phone app.
Small but great exhibits
Why isn’t the whole town at this great new museum? It’s free to get in, and the exhibits are very well put together with scholarly guides available for each. This sculpture in the gardens was so perfectly hypergrowth Miami that I just had to share. We will be back soon enough.
Amazing art. An even more amazing space.
I am a member of the S F MOMA and was very impressed by this exhibition and little art museum.
It's a nice place, you can see many good artwork . They have a lovely garden
An intimate and inclusive museum sitting right on the water. Thoughtfully curated exhibits highlighting a variety of mediums make exploring this place a joyfully educational experience.
Small but worth visiting.
Great new galleries. Amazing staff. Very welcoming.
It was the perfect activity for a rainy start to the day. Art work was cool. We had a great time. Staff was very knowledgeable about the featured artist. It's also free. Can't beat free admission and a good time.
Beautiful museum donated by Norman Braman and his wife. They have a very nice sculpture garden without much sculptures. The museum is 3 floors with spare exhibits and those are bazaar.
Nice museum but not the best. A bit empty. Big exhibition spaces and walls for few paintings and pieces. Free entrance with the Smithsonian staff card.
It was mindblowing. SMALL MUSEUM BUT GOOD EXHIBITS!
So cool! Specially that dark room in the third floor!!
Ask the people in the black shirts to elaborate on what you are viewing. It will open up a whole new world.
One of the nicest places in the Miami Design District
Nothing really special
Fun family activities on weekend afternoons
Some very Disturbing "art" exhibits. You can tell some of these "artists' " minds are completely twisted in a bad way. Most I wouldn't even call art.
Well curated, friendly and informed staff
One of the few places in miami built recently for culture and art and not shopping
Amazing art gallery!
And that museum itself is very nice and I love the fact that it is free! Personally I didn't really like most of the art pieces, and I am quite open to modern/contemporary art
Mid town design district
Attended the celebration of the book Haiti Rediscovered and My first time visiting ICA and it was simply great. I was pleased to see how ICA support the efforts of the community of artists in Miami.
Small but fun.
A very good surprise. Great curatorial work. Fantastic shows.
Great community access. Love it!
The museum is a fantastic physical space for contemporary art. The reception staff are fantastic. 95% of the "art" leaves me asking "REALLY ??"
I enjoy going for their monthly free family days. Find these listed on the Design District website.
Contemporary art at it's finest. Very small exhibits. Boring art. As oppose to the parking garage across the street very modernly decorated
Excellent space, art, and free!
This newish Design District institution was formed when the Board of MoCA North Miami split off from the original institution (the politics and ethics of which have been thoroughly debated within the art world, to no firm resolution). The past firmly behind them, ICA is looking forward to a bright future, with a brand-new, 35,000-square-foot building scheduled to open in late 2017 just around the corner from the de la Cruz Collection. Until then, they're working out of the historic Moore building on 2nd Avenue, where they host some of the most interesting exhibitions in the city, in no small part due to the influence of their young and (justifiably) hyped Chief Curator Alex Gartenfeld. Gartenfeld is known for bringing in some of the world's most forward-thinking contemporary artists, and he's also got an incredible collection at his disposal, with some of the city's most important collectors—Martin Margulies, the Braman family, and the de la Cruz's—among the donor pool. It's a critical stop on any walk through the Design District.
The museum tour was amazing!
It's OK, not too big of a museum
Friendly staff, great content, free entrance, a must see in Miami
