REVIEWS OF Florida Holocaust Museum IN Florida

Leasa McCall

Fairly well done. You can tell that the staff cares about remembering this time in history in a respectful way. Seeing an actual boxcar was a moving experience.

gilb2922 .

A wonderful Museum with excellent installations upstairs on relevant topics. Perfectly laid out and in language that is easy to understand. Thank you for being here.

Andrew Lansing

Extremely somber on spiring and and a reason above all else to visit

Gatorphoto1 S

Visited for a company meeting. Amazing tour and story of a horrible part of history well told.

Rebecca Kremkau

Very interesting. Plan a few hours if you want to really see it all.

sara smuk

It was very informative but it was very depressing.

Scherry Stone

Was enlightening on the holocaust. Really made you feel for the Jews who went through this terrible time In History. I like the special prayer room where you can write a note and put your reflections in the wall.

Tracey Elkins

Our Docan was a holocaust survivor and his personal experience mixed with the history at the museum was a once in a lifetime experience. If you are in St. Pete you should make sure this is on your list of places to visit.

Todd Horton

Well done. Complete lots of reading. I went to a special show for Bill Graham last visit

Kathleen Cory

Very informative.

Lina-Myree Thompson

A great museum with a wealth of history

john orourke

Very moving museum. Memorabilia on all levels that will be hard to ignore. Includes a real train car used to move people in to camps. God bless these victims.

mike

Very informative. My main reason for visiting was a side exhibit that they had for a limited time

Amandae Melton

Great little museum full of knowledge. When you first enter you are greeted by security guards and go through a metal detector. You are then at the front desk where you pay very little for your visit. You are then approached by someone to ask you how you heard of the museum and another person to hand you a wand that will be your tour guide. The wands are very simple to use; there are numbers strategically placed throughout the first floor and you simply type in the 3 digit code and listen all about that section. These wands are very quite and you have to hold them up to your ear to hear so you dont disturb other guests. The first floor is the main museum and has a vast selection of artifacts and memorabilia. They even have one of the box cars from the trains that carried the Jews and a piece of track that has never been restored and shows the original state of how these people were transported. This museum is very humbling and is something everyone should visit at least once. It reminds you of that unfortunate part of our history in hopes of it never happening again.

Sharon Rosenblum

Everything shown was interesting.

Jason

I loved how there was so much in depth information and family members involved with the museum to tell there loved ones story's of their lifestyle before and after the Holocaust. Very sad to see what they had to go through. Definitely recommend to visit very educational place to bring family and friends.

Carlos Velazquez

Lots of photos with stories about people,.place, situation. Looking at the last box car used sadden my heart. Childrens small shoes etc...was heart breaking.....the bad side ro many people read n looked n still did not move from area....to slow.....people taking too long taking pictures holding people from reading n moving on. I would go again to see what i missed seeing n reading....

Jon Bay

Sad but historical. Have been to Dachau in Germany. As sad reminder of what has happened and what can happen again if not careful.

Marisa Taddeo

I had been wanting to visit FHM for a while now. We happened to arrive just as a guided tour was beginning. Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. It was a powerful experience, I was moved to tears at multiple points during the tour. We were deeply affected by the boxcar exhibit and the wailing wall. I will say that the guided tours involve a lot of standing and there aren't many benches around, so if you have elderly folks with you or you have a tendency to get lightheaded, its something to be aware of. You can always do a self-guided tour at your own pace as they have those hand-held speaker devices.

Rita Zessin

Very informative and moving. Wish they would've had t-shirts or sweatshirts for sale in the gift shop, but totally worth checking out!

D H

Today we arrived in time for docent Anthony Vincent to give a two hour non-stop, fluent, informative, chilling account of the history leading up to and including the Holocaust. The three floors were very educational with the second floor dedicated to the Eichmann trial and the third floor to what the elementary students learned and perceived in the tiles you created. “Never Again”.....

Rachel Vanderlely

Paid to get into a museum that was filled with 40+ kids. Couldn’t even look/read most parts of the exhibit. There were literally 5 tours going on, kids laying/sitting all over the floors I couldn’t even walk around. They need to have specific times for field trips and specific times for visitors. So disappointed.

Journey Harper

It was a great experience but very sad as well.

Linda Godby

very moving museum. I could have stayed longer than the 2.5 hours I waa there. Seeing and touching train is beyond words.

rainasawrus

Incredible trove of history. Good rotating exhibits upstairs. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Jennifer Whiting

Love learning at this place. Definitely recommend sparing a few hours to go here and remember all that lost their lives.

Joel Vazquez

$19 to enter is a little steep for Such a small place. But very informative I don't think I'd go again because you can go through it all-in-one afternoon.

Lisa Ortiz

Very educational. I love the wall. I feel a peace like no other place.

Lisa Papuga

Drove an hour to get there and most of their parking lot was taken up by a huge moving truck. Three other spots had cones in front of them with wet paint signs. Found a spot on the street in front of the museum but it was only two hour parking. When I asked what happens after two hours she told me “I would get a ticket”. I was then told that the museum had three floors but the second floor was closed because they were putting a new exhibit there. I then asked if it was discounted price since one of the floors was closed and was told “no it’s regular admission”. I checked the website before I went since I knew I had an hour drive and saw nothing about an entire floor being closed. Needless to say we turned around right out the door. Very disappointed.

Gregory Kobin

I'm Jewish so from my point of view the way I was brought up I dealt with more graphic and intense information then what was in the museum

Twinnie Buendia

Amazing museum located downtown. I honestly thought we would be in and out fairly quickly and was pleasantly surprised when we ended up not leaving for almost an hour and a half. First floor was a wealth of knowledge and history of the Holocaust. So much information and I honestly learned a lot. If you decide not to do the guided tour, they give you an audio guide where you can enter in the number of the display you are viewing and it will tell you more about it. Second floor was the Operation Finale (Adolf Eichmann) exhibit. Amazing. The exhibit flowed nicely from start to finish. I was enthralled with the displays and information provided. It honestly made me want to see the movie, read or watch a documentary to learn more. I wouldn't call this a "fun" way to spend an afternoon. You're not going to leave here happy with a smile on your face. It was definitely an educational and somber experience and opened my eyes to this horrific tragedy. Some of the displays brought tears to my eyes. The Boxcar display was very moving and gave me chills. My 13 year old son was decidedly "bored" the whole time. But I did catch him looking at many of the displays and reading the info there. He was even able to throw some facts back at me that night when we were talking about our visit so I know he was paying attention. This visit will definitely stay with me for a while.

ariane cortes

A wealth of information. Good for all ages. Displays and installations easy to read and follow.

David Schorr

Better than we expected.

Kathleen Ferrick

I found the museum quite interesting and would highly recommend it. I would suggest a 2 day event because there is so much reading involved. I don't know whether you can go in and out if you can by all means make a full day of it

Lauren Brigman

This is an incredible museum. Even though it’s a very heavy subject, this museum does a phenomenal job educating guests without concentrating so much on the hate that took place but rather the individual people survived it and their accomplishments. They bring in great featured artists, exhibits, and pieces of history. Highly recommend this facility.

Laura Anthony

Small museum. Thought provoking. I thought the lighting was very poor and some of the exhibits had too much information in one place to see it all.

Tyler Herbst

A must see exhibit for everyone.

Edward McGarey

Very sad. Unbelievable what mankind is capable of.

Rosita Allyson Jett

Very interesting information. Very, very sad! There's also an interesting third floor exhibition of musical promoter, Bill Graham, from the the 60s and 70s rock and roll era that was also a Jewish survivor of the Holocaust.

Gloria Desano

Very informative. Changes often,so it's always a new experience!

Michelle Quiles

Interesting Experienced. Learned alot of things I did not realize concerning the Holocaust.

Blase Martino

What an absolutely amazing place. Let's start with it's great building right in the heart of downtown St. Pete, close to everything. And they offer free parking behind the building for visitors. The museum itself is an incredibly educational, moving, and at times very sad telling of the difficult history of the Jewish people. There are numerous original items on display, especially from during the Holocaust which really help to give visitors just a small peek into the horrors those affected went through. The staff was equally amazing in their friendliness, gratitude, and willingness to educate. People of all faith should take the time to visit. While you're there, check out the incredible Bill Graham display going on now as well.

Sean Smith

Small but powerful. A must see if you're in St Pete. A silent reminder as to how we must not allow hate on any level.

Gerald Eigen

Holocaust museums are not really places to love and while St. Petersburg is a relatively small city compared to the big 5, their Holocaust museum is equal in "koach" to the big city museums. The museum is well designed, well appointed and well staffed. The poignant display for the boxcar might be more representative of the actuality of the captives travel with a few openings, but all in all, it is a thought-provoking, heart-rending presentation This is a presentation that the city can be proud of. I would recommend serial visits, so that the visitor is not overwhelmed. Bravo St. Pete!

Jessica Pierce

Humbled and horrified - those feelings go hand-in-hand as you walk through the exhibits. I've been here many times, but each time the weight of the evil committed is breathtaking. The museum is beautifully and skillfully laid out, and the sight of the massive rail car is sobering. A trip to the mediation / wailing wall / reflection room can help you process what you've seen and felt. I also recommend heading up to the third floor to read what the children that have visited the museum think. It gave me hope to see the next generation understanding this atrocity and reading how visiting the museum changed them. If you ever have the opportunity to go hear a Holocaust survivor speak in person at the museum, I highly recommend it. You can follow the museum on Facebook or other social media to learn about upcoming events.

David Cy

Cool place to see history of WWII. Small but packed with information.

Courtney Arnett

This place was awesome, I was hoping for more artifacts but it was still an awesome experience.

Becca Webb

Very informative and interesting. However, the whole floor dedicated to the music was a bit excessive. I would have enjoyed more stories of the survivors and what happened.

Maggie Shaffer

No words can describe this gorgeous, well put together ode to such a tragedy.

Barbara Gaskey

Great historical value in humanity. We seem to never learn from our mistakes though.

MusicMan Reviewer

An experience I will never forget. This is my second Holocaust Museum and it's a great one. My other was in DC. I hope history will not repeat itself. Very nice and helpful staff. This is a must visit for everyone.

Marilyn Renner

Excellent presentation of facts and materials. Very helpful staff!

Kristina Smithe

Wow, very moving. I've been to the Holocaust museum in D.C. as well as this one and I believe the way the one in St. Petersburg is set up was much better and the information was easier to digest. I didn't think it was going to be that spectacular because it seemed pretty small for a museum but I was in those 3 different rooms for more than 2 hours. The excerpts from the Holocaust survivors on some of the walls were what did me in. It was a very personal touch and left me in awe. Also, service was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Christy Lee

It was an amazing experience. An unbelievable memorial to an atrocious event in our history.

Sharon Alford

It was very informative and we'll displayed

Thomas Hennessy

Very well done.

Kevin Carlson

Moving, impactful and interactive presentation of the Holocaust, with many personal stories, artifacts and historical background of what led to the rise of the Third Reich and eventually World War II. Recorded narration wand lets one proceed as slowly or as quickly as desired. An actual railroad boxcar, used for transporting Jews, gypsies, homosexuals and other "undesirables" to the concentration camps and their deaths sits silently at the center of the first floor. Second floor exhibit is currently devoted to the history of the pursuit, capture and trial of Adolph Eichmann, with the actual bullet proof witness box used by Eichmann at the trial lending an eerie presence. Free parking is available.

Kareys Noria

Sady stories from history but a wonderful museum

Sega Carter

Great museum. Bring tissue

Jimmy Murray

Google, I'm not comfortable with the idea of reviewing a Holocaust Museum. Go and learn things.

Dana Bates

The museum was nice. A nice selection of historical pieces and their back stories. It highlights a different side of the holocaust we don't get a lot of focus on, the trials. Nice, but lots to read and listen to at the same time. If you're like me, it's hard to absorb the information that way.

Janet Smith

I took my grandson who is 11 and he said it was good. They had some very interesting stuff there. The also had a Bill Graham exhibit on the 2nd floor that was fascinating

Candi Hogan

So moving. Very emotional.

JakesOtto

The tour guide Harry was rude 0/5 stars of David

LaLa Bee Magneti

A worthwhile museum that promotes history in a truly tangible way. This chapter in our heartbreaking history is essential to learn. Visit this museum. Learn. Encourage others to learn. My daughters and I enjoyed our experience here.

James Copen

Everyone needs to see this. So we never forget . Intense and educational.

Shirley Hurd

The sadness. Everyone should go here and read and feel the place brush up on your history and find out something you never knew. I could've spent the whole day just in this musuem

Larry Schroeder

The staff was very accommodating very enlightening and the additional things they had available to see regarding rock and roll was interesting as well

Lilibeth Robles

This museum is very informative and there is a lot of history here. When I went there was a holocaust survivor that was talking about his experience during the Holocaust. Will definitely go back again, it's nice to learn about these events.

Joey Williams

More than a holocaust museum, a meeting point for interesting people with varying interest. A museum that actually brings people together.

Sean Morr

The entire 3rd floor holocaust exhibit was off limits due to a "meeting" I was not made aware of when purchasing my full-price ticket. I would have come back at a different time had I known. They refused to give me a return voucher or refund.

Miriam Elasri

Bring tissues because the reality will get you. Glad this museum exist so we can teach the kids. Excellent museum. The gift shop is extremely lagging. I wish they had more selection in the gift shop and cheaper prices.

judy miller

Very informative! I learned so much more than I ever imagined I would there! My heart goes out to everyone who had so much taken from them!

Jake Mudarrie

Very educational. Very sad those terrible things happened to all those good people. But it's nice to make us all aware and appreciate what we have today. And it was even that long ago. Hate is everywhere but we can all change that. Show love to someone everyday! Peace

Stephanie Gazdagan

This was my first visit to the museum, but I will definitely be coming back. I came for free museum day, and really enjoyed it. There is something for everyone; the person who just loves to immerse themselves in history, the one who has family that was directly or indirectly affected, and even kids who are interested in learning something new. I thought I knew quite a bit about the Holocaust, but through the different areas with tons of information, I learned so much more! There is also a real train car that was used to carry the Jewish prisoners to the camps. That was almost surreal to see. Looking forward to coming back, and learning even more.

Arthur Penny

Very rewarding experience

Shannon Konop

Amazing history, photos, and actual belongings from survivors. Incredible to see but come with time to spare. Took me over an hour to see it all.

Beverly Levine

This place is close to hallowed ground in its displays, memories, and other information about holocaust of World War II and after relating to many global cultures. The current displays concerning racisim, and segregation are chilling. A must see museum.

Gayle Greenberg

Very well done; meaningful

Donna Schulert

I visited with my Father, it is well organized and very informative. It is gut wrenching and sad and yet there is a display features people who risked everything to help and do the right thing by saving as many people as possible. Visiting this museum was well worth the tears.

Sonya Unger

I agree, I wish it was bigger and that there was more merchandise in the museum shop. However, it was very informative and emotional. It didn't make sense to me to have a rock and roll exhibit there so I skipped it completely. Check it out, you won't regret it.

Rick DeBow

If you want to really learn more about the holocaust, the what and why it happened in the first place, and come to understand that we as a civilization still haven’t learned from the mistakes in our past, then you need to visit the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Pete, Florida. Narratives and artifacts that have provided by those who survived this atrocity has been well documented and preserved by the Museum. The sad fact that sinks in as you tour the museum, reading how the persecution against Jews came to be, and then begin to see similarities in the world today, you realize that we have yet to learn from the mistakes in our past. You leave here asking yourself how we could have let this happen in the first place, and why is it we turn a blind eye when rogue dictators perform the same type of genocide to people in their country who have different beliefs than their own. The only negative I have about my experience at the Museum and the reason I gave it a 4 Star Review is the Docent (Tour Guide) was unable to answer many of the most basic questions presented to her.

E'Liyah Page

A good place to go to learn about the jews and antisemitism

S. Soto

Great little museum to visit. It's clean and organized. The staff member are extremely knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have about the Holocaust. They have an actual rail car that was used by the Nazi's. There's plenty of parking available and plenty of places to eat in the immediate area.

Sally S

Very educational, staff very polite and respectful.

LUIS PEREZ

Is a great place to reminisce and share thoughts about history with family members!!

Claire Timmins

If you are interested in history this is the place for you. But if you're looking for grisly photos of the death camps or survivors you won't find it here. It tactfully tells the story of the steady loss of freedom and rise if persecution of the Jews, Gypsies and sympathisers.

Nicole White

I liked it but I felt like it wasn't that in depth. The 2nd floor was a display on one person, which was good. It was very interesting on music, but that left only the first floor. There were definitely things I learned that I didn't know, but it felt very surface level. We went up to the 3rd floor but it was only a few pieces of art. I definitely still recommend to check it out.

Jeanna Bee

Everyone should visit. Plan on spending a few hours here to thoroughly explore the museum. Museum guides were friendly, very knowledgeable, and great orators. The boxcar was heart breaking.

Yajaira Rivera

Enjoyed it very much

Jesse Marvin

I went here for my birthday and I really loved it. This museum tells you in detail what the Jews went through. One artifact that really impacted me was the train cart because that cart lead innocent people to death. Again, I personally loved it because you can look at what happened and learn to not do the same thing in the future and to be aware of things.

Dreas Trix

This museum was an amazing experience. I recomend it to anyone any everyone. Do not miss the second and third floor. The VR experience of "The Last Goodbye" was an experience I hope to never forget. Extraordinary does not say enough about my experience at the Florida Holocaust Museum. It was darkly. Find reason to go, to learn, to know.

C R

Breathtaking & chilling collection, as well as visiting exhibits. Very friendly staff. On site parking is very limited, especially on the weekends. It’s best to park at a garage and just walk.

Kay Rowe

The museum is awesome. My second time visiting today. brought friends with me and everyone so very moved by all the info in the museum. Thanks for honoring this time in our lives and remembering all the people involved. We will return.

Clare Ortman

The Florida Holocaust Museum is a very interesting and educational museum, especially for young people. The memories, hardship, and sacrifices experienced by the Jews people are very sad stories and it was portrayed and represented well in this Museum. This horrible event should never ever happen again! There are 2 floors, downstairs you can see about the Holocaust incident and the second floor is about Bill Graham. I'm glad I visited this place and remember the ugly history which reminded me that it is important to value every one of any kind and race.

Vinny0509

Very clean museum and very friendly staff. Lots of information and awesome artifacts

BONNIE RUBIN

Very interesting and sobering

John Pilz

This is the place you need to visit if you want to see actual historical pieces from Nazi Germany for yourself. You need to put this museum on your list, if you like history. Come here if you want to learn more about the holocaust.

Sarra Heart

Tons of history here. Moved me to tears on evey floor. They ahve kiosks where you can listen to survivors tell their stories. Very moving experience. Definitely will out life into perspective for you seeing what these poor people went through.

SeventhSamurai72

Very informative and poignant experience, and a powerful way of ensuring we do not forget how horrific humanity can be. Also a testament to those willing to stand up against darkness and demonstrate how beautiful humanity can be. I found myself pausing and reflecting often. I encourage you to visit, I believe it will help us evolve into greater compassion.

Rachel L

Very interesting place to visit. You will see actual relics from Holocaust times.

s i x e r

I went with a few of my friends and it's such a well put together museum, theres educational videos, interactive models, and interesting artifacts that really open your eyes about the experience. The only downside is the size of the museum is narrow so when theres a lot of business it definitely shows and you're crammed up against others

Steve Block

Bill Graham show was excellent. The entire experience was great.

Trey Mafia

Very powerful. Absolutely loved it. Staff was very nice

Don Demrow

Informative, and reverent displays... heart rending, yet educational.

Rick Black

For as crowded as it was due to the free day, it was worth the wait.

M Busch

Took my class. Docent was very knowledgeable. She held the students' interest throughout the experience.

Catherine Shelley

So many moving displays! Excellent visual chronology.

Maureen Shacter

Set up very well. Very informative. Loved seeing the interviews with local survivors. People were helpful.

Matt rinehart

Lots of things I didnt know done tastefully.

Lynn Amy Levenson

Always something diff exhibits great

Firecracker gigi

The Florida Holocaust Museum was very eye opening. I already knew the basics of what had happened and heard a survivor talk about what happened to him. Yet, this museum still taught me quite a bit about what the victims went through. They give you a little device at the beginning of your tour so that at each of the different sections you can listen to what it's about and what was happening in that time period. I would recommend this museum to anyone who wants to learn more about the details of the Holocaust.

lcampbell109@outlook.com 69641721jrm

Takes so long to read everything. Audio stations didn't work properly.

Michael Taylor

The facility was clean, the staff was always friendly, courteous, and most importantly knowledgeable on any questions we had. Overall a very positive experience. It would be excellent educational experience for almost any age group. If you're as interested in the Holocaust and world war II as my wife and I are you could very easily spend well over 4 hours going through and viewing each exhibit.

Jovan Bojchevski

The museum is awesome, but It is a pityfull to watch and read about people who were innocently killed, especially children. I wish you all good and peace! On the second floor I was very pleased with the presentation of musical groups and characters from the 70's and the new generation. I recommend this museum.

Tiffany Storey

There are numbers on each display, if you type in for example (110) and hold the stick to your ear it explains quite a bit. There's also upstairs to tour as well. Gives you a sense of what they went through and why. Stories of sadness, strength and courage to keep pushing forward when the world labeled them, wanting and trying to harm them... Definitely! Definitely! Worth the time to go! Don't forget there's an upstairs, parking is free and on the side of the museum.

Cynthia Dugat

I was pleasantly surprised with my visit here. I've been to Holocaust museums near Normandy Beach, memorial museums in Paris, and Dachau outside of Munich, and I didn't expect this one to be comparable. It's well set up, very informative and portrays the horror of this time period in a compassionate yet clear manner. I find it incomprehensible that there are those who insist this atrocity never took place.

Giampaolo Curreri

Anthony Vincent is s great docent. His background (studies) brings to visitors the right views of the time and the ordeals. The museum is a small jewel but precious. A must for residents and tourists alike. Time and facts of modern history that shall never be forgotten nor misinterpreted.

Cruz Michael

This museum was great! Definitely better than we expected. The $16 entrance fee was fair. Sure does put things into perspective of now days problems.

Alice Reybitz

Sad and sobering. Quite the display.

Lindsay Gilmour

Visited for free through the Discovery Pass that Hillsborough County libraries offer. Spent about 4 hours in total reading everything at the museum. Upon entering right as they opened that day, I was told about a VR (virtual reality) program they offered. You had to sign up for it which I did, and returned in my time window. Best use of VR technology I've seen so far. Highly recommend going here, right as they open, and signing up for the VR while you spend time in the museum. Very humbling experience.

James Moore

We learned about what happened and were able to hear eye-witness accounts of the victims of the holocaust.

Kevin Tamas

It's great alot information& photo, but I would like them to have more.

Tara Saxbury

One of the best museums around, I have been going since I was a child, and have started bringing my children to understand the history of the time in the world

Nina Pascoe

It is small museum, but impactful. Even though the subject is heavy, it is worth every moment.

Sarathi Ratnayake

It was heart touching. I hope the world will never ever see something like this again.

Pam Stine

We must never forget history. I grew up watching grainy news reels, reading "The Diary of Anne Frank", etc. But coming to this place and being reminded of what happened and continues around the world was a stark reminder of the value of knowledge of history including visual symbols such as statues, artifacts, pictures. Not a fun place to go but a very important one.

Jay Basinger

Moving. Emotional. Serene. There was a moment that I was ashamed to be part of the "human race", knowing that one group of people, was capable of so much hatred towards another. The museum is well done on all levels, and the volunteer historians are a wealth of information and unique stories. It should be required viewing for all 7th and 8th graders and then again as Seniors in High School. I think the timeline of events (1932-1945) is incredibly well documented. Appropriately, there is a meditation/prayer room at the end of the tour to contemplate everything that you have seen and listened to.

kristina fb

Lots of good info, some in old German, lots of pictures. How much potential lost in the Holocaust.

Ivan Cauldwell

Powerful and educational. I am thoroughly glad I visited.

jill edwards

Great experience. The staff was.very knowledgeable and friendly.

Ricky Sieck

This is a place that needs to be seen by as many people as possible. It is so emotionally moving. It's hard to grasp the concept of genocide, but this does an amazing job of teaching it. I would recommend taking school age children especially with all of the bullying issues they face today.

Tomiko Willis

Ready for another visit. I learned a lot in such a short time.

kim blair

My family and i went as part of a school assignment. We were very moved emotionally. We are grateful for all the contributions and hard work that went into this historical memorial for all the people and their families that had to endure this horrific time in history. Our hearts and respect go out to all that were affected. Ignorance can never be an excuse.

Dennis Weiler

Powerful and sobering displays and narrative.

Colby Griffin

Sad of course but beautiful

Kayla Maddox

Amazing and heartbreaking all at the same time.

Joe Hulsebosch

I was in awe and shocked to read and view the horror of what Hitler and the Nazis did in WW II to millions of people. The Holocaust Museum is enlightening and informative; I will never forget what Hate can do to and by people world wide...

Michael Weaver

Really incredible experience. The story of how they found the little girls ring when they cleaned up the railroad car is amazing. Take your time here. U won't be sorry. Remember this is all about the holocaust so come in open to learn and grow. May be bring some tissues. Even as a young guy when i first went. I found it cool. So much history. So much pain but so much survival and incredible stories. Good for almost all ages

James Garcia

I learned some new points in history today. May you discover something new when you visit.

Travis Young

Great museum for all. Learn the history and facts about the holocaust.

Brenda wesolowski

This museum is very informative! The train car that was actually used to transport the Holocaust prisoners made me feel so sad. The real prisoner uniform and other things that were actually used by the prisoners helped me feel closer to the actual events. My favorite thing was the virtual reality experience, "The Last Goodbye." It made me so emotional. I felt like I was really there at the camp. These people went through Hell and I'm happy that places like this are there to show us the reality of what happened.

Leah Hinders

Amazing, humbling experience.

eliz_sherry van-read

Directly tied to local citizenry. Rich detail. The box car is heart-stoppingly powerful.

Tammy Sieck

All I can say is that this was one of the most surreal experiences I have ever had. Everyone should visit young and old alike. The recorded interviews were beyond breathtaking. It leaves you wondering how does this happen?

Carol Hixenbaugh

There was a special exhibit about Bill Graham the music promoter and the Rock & Roll Revolution he started. We really enjoyed that exhibit. The museum was well run and had good parking.

Ruth Young

Excellent museum. Everyone should visit especially children & young adults. The museum is laid out well. It is certainly not as large as 1 in D.C. but it certainly can be an eye opener as to what happened and is still happening in parts of the world we live. You can walk around with a sound piece that you can coordinate to numbers or just walk around & read about what you are seeing. The museum has many artifacts and many pictures. Go it will be both a sobering & educational experience. The curators have accomplished a lot. Take at least a 2 hour window of your time to fully appreciate all the exhibits.

Scott Leroy

We went because my wife's got family that were there. Kind of hard to wrap your head around what life was like for those in the camps. Definitely a must for everyone.

Patricia Pendley

Awesome, well presented. Amazed even had free parking. Not very handicapped friendly. Taken thru back in wheelchair against the flow of foot traffic.

Awesome experience. It tells the story of the events leading up to, during, and after the holicaust. There are only a few actual artifacts, but there are many printed word exhibits that give visitors a comprehensuve understanding of what life was like as a Jew during WWII. Very eye opening and humbling. Highly recommend visiting!

They have amazing exhibits! On this day, they had a local professor giving a talk about the character Shylock in Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice.

UPDATE....EXTENDED TO JUNE 30th. This is a MUST! This the best exhibit of Rock n Roll Concert Art Posters ever assembled. 10 stars. Fascinating history on Bill Graham's early life and his career as a Concert Promoter. The amount of original artwork for the Fillmore West & East displayed is staggering. The addition memorabilia is fascinating. This exhibit is better than the collection of Concert Art displayed at Art Rock's gallery show held in 1992. (Which was a celebration of the 25th anniversary of The Moore Gallery Joint show.) The Concert photography by Herb Greene & Jim Marshall is dynamite. I attended the Fillmore East. I have made many trips to Gallery Shows and Poster Expos in SF. This is by far the best. The Bill Graham exhibit displays the art and culture of the 60s beautifully. Many posters & photos of Bill's Concerts in the 70s & 80s are displayed, as well. Framed Concert Art is visual history of a period many people lived & loved. For those of us that experienced those times, it is a wonderful visual reminder of a glorious period of Rock, Blues & Jazz. I thank the Holocaust Museum for this visual trip through a wonderful time in my life. Bill did it all. American music culture is deeply indebted to him, Chet Helms and The Family Dog & Uncle Russ of The Grande, Detroit.... for the music we were able to see & hear.... and the wonderful art that accompanied it.

Only because having visited the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. do we rate this a 4-star, otherwise it is a 5-star. This museum was quite interesting and educational. The Holocaust was such a tragic time in our history of mankind. Not only is the importance for this museum to teach of the travesties of the past but to remind us of the still ongoing atrocities of our present. It is certainly worth taking the time to visit this museum. It is laid out well and audio guides help explain the story of the Holocaust in great detail.

Eye opening. We had a great presenter.

Feels strange saying I loved visiting this museum. The artifacts are a stark reminder of an atrocity that is beginning to fade. With every exhibit the reality was gut wrenching and fascinating. It is one thing to read or watch documentaries about this dark chapter. It's quite another to actually be in the presence of the authentic items. Yes, the Holocaust was real.

I love going back to the Holocaust museum for their various exhibits. Each time, I learn or see something that I missed on a previous visit. The current Bill Graham exhibit is super interesting, and hopefully will bring a good crowd in to witness the connection. They also now have a virtual exhibit that allows you to see the inside of a concentration camp. Very powerful.

Amazing! The history and tour were amazing. Just connecting to one of the most horrific times in human history.
