REVIEWS OF Flamingo Gardens IN Florida

We went to Flamingo Gardens on an off day in Davie. What a treat! Gardens, birds and animals were just beautiful. We spent a good part of our day there and saw so many exhibits with the birds and animals looking very content and not bored like some other exhibits we've seen. The only part we truly did not like was the Garden's cafe. It was awful. But all in all we absolutely loved the place and appreciate all they do to help injured and ailing creatures. There is a reasonable fee, but it is well worth it.

Sharon Sharon

Excellent gardens and sanctuary for injured animals. So much to see and do. It was a lot of walking on a hot day. We had to purchase water and refreshments several times. There are adequate seats throughout and the foliage provides abundant shade spots through many areas. There is ample free parking on grassy and dirt roads. You purchase tickets inside the gift shop. There you will find a variety of souvenirs, gifts, toys, books etc. There many lovely orchids and beautiful, exotic flowers and plants everywhere. The tall trees gives a feeling of being in a land of giants. The vegetation is lush and dense in most areas. There are so many lovely birds throughout including owls, peacocks, eagles, hawks and cranes... but I especially came to see the beautiful pink flamingos. There are others animals including tortoise, otters, an american black bear,, gators, koi fish, and more. I did not see a restaurant; But there was a snack shop with cold drinks, ice cream, frozen snacks, chips, hotdogs, etc. We did not take the trolley tour, but chose to walk instead. I was very impressed at the size of the gardens and the variety, quality and quantity especially of the orchids and plants. A great place to spend a afternoon or day and get a good taste of Florida.

Pamela Rodgers

We enjoyed our visit. We spent 4 hours and could have spent the whole day. The employees were very informative and pleasant. Lots of animals and beautiful gardens.

Тимур Ягмуров

Great family experience. This place feels like a little rain forest, with peacocks running around. Absolutely beautiful. Free guide-toures on the train-like carts. Large man-made lake, forest. They even have a weeding venue. Many different wildlife species with focus on birds. Overall great weekend spent.

Tanya T

On our visit to Florida, we visited this botanical garden to give our children a fun and educational experience. I truly think we enjoyed it more than the children. We visited the flamingos, alligators, black bear, bobcats, and the peacocks; the peacocks roamed freely about the premises..so adorable. We rode the tram, where we received a VERY educational tour of the gardens and it's history. Amazing trip and would highly recommend one to stop in..hours of fun.

Shirley Keesee

Wonderful day at flamingo garden. Highly recommend.

Julia Lawler

I love the $7 dollar deal in September. I would come more for that price.

Steven Pritchard

Well worth a visit. Lots of interesting plants and so many bids. We enjoyed the tour. Mark, the tram driver/tour guide, was great.

Adam

This is a wonderful place that rescues and looks after injured animals. It also facilitates the injured animals to breed and releases their offspring back into the wild. It’s set in a lush tropical garden/forest. If you love nature or want your kids to see wild animals without guilt, this is the place. It’s just off I-75 in Davie so it’s easy to get to.

Amaechi M

I had an amazing time looking at the beautiful flamingos. They had a smoothie shop shaped like an orange. It was an amazing experience. The birds were beautiful.

Christopher Long

Much better than I had hoped or expected. A huge number of different species of animals and plants and incredibly knowledgeable staff. An awesome place.

Erika Adams

I appreciate the preservation nature of this place; all animals are donated and placed due to inability to survive in the wild. The history of the property is wonderful. Extensive plant varieties. Very hot so we took the tram tour but couldn’t hear anything. Many animals unseen again due to heat. I felt a little mislead and expected more tropical birds.

daren nenortas

Perfect place to spend the day and have fun with the family. If you're local, it is worth getting the annual membership which includes the tram ride. The gardens are relaxing and the animal exhibits are great. My favorite is the aviary. Great place to photograph native birds.

The Bacon Family

Gorgeous grounds! We learned a lot. Take the tram ride that is included in your ticket to get a great overview. Lots of great animals here and educational talks.

Kimberly Ceballos

Such a nice place to go for some family time and walking, kids loved seeing the peacocks wall around freely.

Alex Ferreira

Good value. Plan on spending a couple hours there. Great for kids.

rakhi sadanandan

My kids really enjoyed it. I was able to get to see the golden shower tree (Indian labernum) after a long time.

Mary-Ann Cayemite

Great place. Definitely take the tram ride. It is relaxing and informative. the food and drinks are pricey so you might want to bring your own drinks and snacks. The gift shop has very unique items that are Florida culture based. And yes there are more than just flamingos here. The peacocks are all over the place or should I say peafowl. The other animals are also very interesting. Overall a great place to visit at least once.

Jerrod

It was cool for the kids. Had no idea it was so huge looking from Flamingo road.

Leslie Kelly

Unique animals, plants, and wildlife. Not very crowded so it was a nice environment. No rushing or pushing through to see something . This place saves animals and tries to put them back in the wild if possible. Not a zoo which i like. We also got to see them feed a lot of the animals like the otters which was a real treat!

Shanna Simon

This is hands down the best place ever to experience! And at a very affordable price too~ $19.95 ~ I love it so much. I came last year in April 2018 and basically went on vacation to see this place again . Good job and stands for a great cause! Donate today~ please you won't be sorry!

Jenny Disko

I absolutely LOVE this place sooooo much. Hidden out west, this little piece of historical nature preserve is home to some amazing residents. Beautiful Orchids And Botanical Gardens, tons of cage free peacocks prance around. The back lot of the gardens are historical orchards you can take a free tram around. My favorite part - there are several rescued animals that also call this place home! The keepers definitely are passionate about their little buddies. Every time we have guests and family to visit I always use them as an excuse to go back again and again. Great gift shops, and photo opportunities! Fun spot for kids and adults!

Karen Plunkett

if you are looking for a great way to spend your day, go to Flamingo Gardens! Their botanical gardens are beautiful, especially when they have an event going on. Every year they have an orchid show on Easter weekend and this year certainly was wonderful! It seems as if Flamingo Gardens went the extra mile, adding many orchids to the trees. Whenever you looked up in the trees there were orchids mounted! I don't know how long Flamingo Gardens keeps the orchids up, but they were certainly beautiful! There were peacocks all over the place, cats wandering around, and of course flamingos! They have a very nice wildlife sanctuary and aviary area. I have attached some pictures of peacocks showing their beautiful colors, and my orchid purchases after I took them home and put them in pretty pots. I can say I definitely recommend Flamingo Gardens!

Justin Reeg

What an amazing stop! All animals here are permanently injured and/or non-releasable into the wild. They all appear treated very well, and there are several species of local waterfowl that appear to fly in on their own. Lots of birds around, and the aviary has A TON of different species flying, walking, hanging around . So great to see the folks here creating a refuge for these animals. We had a coupon and used it, but after seeing the great care of these animals (and quite enjoying visiting with them - don't miss the sea otters!), I donated more into one of their boxes. Don't pass this place up!

Mandah Lento

So much to see here! A little pricey... $20 a person, should give a Florida Resident discount perhaps? Definitely had so much to see!! Flamingos, other birds, owls, turtles, gators, reptiles, a bear... when we first walked up there was a peacock with its wings wide open! It was beautiful. I recommend to anyone wanting a true taste of Florida! Many beautiful plants and flowers as well!

Phillipa Taylor

So glad we made the time! It's a wonderful day out with lots of interesting information and lovely staff. The animals all seem really comfortable and happy in their environments too which is great to see.

Sharon Johnson

Beautiful plants everywhere. Wildlife presentation was amazing and very informative. Tram tour was about 20 minutes and totally worth it to learn more about the native and exotic plant species. My kids loved the dinosaurs they have throughout the whole tour interspersed with the natural plants. I will definitely recommend to everyone I know

cupcake girl

Our vist to the Flamingo Gardens was throughly enjoyed by all of the family. Parking was free and more than adequate acess to the Gardens was then just a short walk away. The staff within the Gardens were extremely friendly and really knowledgeable. All of the animal exhibits were easily accessible with many different types of animals on display. The one thing that was very evident during our time and the walk through of the Flamingo Gardens is how well the animals are being cared for and how relaxed they seem to be. Well worth a visit

Sean Greco

We visit this place often, very old world Florida. The trees are spectacular, always have great events going on. Very family friendly, I can't say enough good things about it. The annual pass is also a great value with many attractions included with it. This is a place I definitely recommend!

Charlotte Local

Not bad at all. I'd say give it a try if you're alone or have some free time to check it out. Good luck and have fun.

SHANNON TATUM

Very enjoyable!! I loved the oters!! Feeding the snapping turtles is fun, bring your quarters. I dont recommend the food. The tram ride is a must.

Michele Jordan

Wonderful animal sanctuary.beautiful grounds of exotic tropical plants.a nice way to spend half a day strolling thru the park.

Ray Acosta

Really nice place. Not to big to walk long distances. Amaizing for kids and adult too. If in livr with photography there are plenty of material for that. Recommendation, go when is not to hot or at least humidity is not crazy.

Susan Menjivar

Fun place for the family to spend quality time together enjoying the outdoors!!

Ramon Lopez

The place is very nice for kids and learn about animals.

Raven Briley

Awesome!!!! Only there for an hour before they closed but still had an awesome time. Lots of peacocks and iguanas running around which made the visit that much more interesting! Very interesting place to visit.

Pat B.

Was very busy...nice staff at the gift shop. Tram tour was interesting. The food truck was NOT worth it (expensive, had no flavor and super greasy) plus an angry young woman (w/ major attitude) taking the orders.

Renate Beljan

Great place to take your family. Staff was very nice. It's a mix of botanical Garden/Zoo/ Gift shop. huge variety of Floridian plants and flowers and every staff member can tell you about what it is and any specifics on either animals and trees plants and flowers. We had a great visit..!

SAMIA SHIHADA

Amazing. The entrance fee is about $20 per adult, $13 for children and free for infants. It's very natural and you can walk in it for hours. Every few weeks they have Safari night and the gardens stay open until 10, which is useful due to the heat during the daytime. Highly recommend

Kelsea Lozada

Really cool attractions inside - there’s a presentation done in the Aviary that is really cool. Just arrive early to make sure you can grab a seat. There are a lot of different animals and for a lot of them you can get very close to them. The owls were one of my favorites

María Carolina Berríos

Amazing experience for the whole family. The gardens are gorgeous and well maintained. Kids and adults have the opportunity to interact and feed ibis, flamingos and peacocks. Take the tram and learn a lot about this impressive place.

Rennatha Bento

It has been years since I visited Flamingo Gardens and I was impressed with all the improvements that were implemented. It is beautiful. With incredible flowers, trees and animals. Spend a whole day exploring and enjoying this beautiful garden. A free Tram ride was included in the price. In September on Saturday and Sunday a special rate $7.00 entree, lunch and souvenirs.

Angi James

Went during a $7.00 entry price. They have a team tour, a guided plant tour, animals. Great attraction to see.

Ashley M

It was dope seeing the peacocks wonder around. The animals were sleepy bout time we arrived at 330pm. They close at 5...so next time we will get a better start at seeing the animals before they eat their dinner.

Patricia Smith

Loved this place. We were here in February so it wasn't to hot and humid. Spent about three hours here before going to the airport. Make sure to have a few quarters so you can feed the flamingos at their island area. Make sure to take the team ride that's where we saw a large iguana.

Bob Miller

Fun afternoon walk through with animal encounters and it's a nice shaded walk around the gardens

Rosie Szabo

We love this place. A wonderful relaxing place to just walk around and enjoy family time! We purchased annual membership so we can go as many times as we want.

Michel Foshee

Parking lot was packed but plenty of room inside the park for alot of people. Staff super friendly. Mother's day was free to all mom's. Lots of peacocks raoming the property. The food vendors were serving and was delicious. Got to see some of the wildlife interact at feeding time. Just a very nice place for family.

Zahra Y.

This wildlife refuge and botanical garden is a beautiful place to spend the day. On the tram tour, the guides explain in detail all the surrounding sights. There is a huge diversity of trees and plants. Truly stunning place!

Michelle N

We had some time to kill before a flight out of Fort Lauderdale and decided to check this place out. It was wonderful! We really enjoyed seeing all the plants and animals. It wasn't crowded (it was a Monday afternoon) and there was a lot to look it.

Rudy Smith

What a fantastic preserve. I love all the interesting plants and the local wildlife that they are rehabbing.

Greg Szabo

Great place to chill with the family on the weekends. Great botanical and zoological exhibits. Very chill atmosphere. Looks like a good venue for weddings and other events.

Jorge Perez

A really cool place in South Florida to visit they have many kinds of animals and a few

Monica Suhett

The magical place for everyone. Exotic, easier to go, cheaper. You don’t need bring food, there, you can find excellent food e variety. Reserve all day for enjoy this sanctuary.

Narsa Rain

What an incredible experience. I am personally one who avoids "Zoo's" and animal parks all together but this place is wonderful. It is actually a sanctuary for sick animals/animals that cannot be released again into the wild etc. All the animals have a very large place to roam, especially the flamingos and the peacocks. They look amazingly well taken care of and are not the slightest bit distressed. While visiting we got to feed peacocks and get right up and close to the flamingos. I highly recommend bringing your families here for a visit and even donating to this wonderful location.

Rachelle Brown

Great experience for my two homeschooled kids. We watched a wonderful presentation of two staff members bringing a variety of animals out to show and talk about. This facility really cares about the animals they take in.

Lannette Thomas

My favorite outing on my trip to FLA. The beautiful birds will talk when they want to. The small eclectic gift shop is filled with hidden gems that are extremely fairly priced. The little lady who works there is super friendly. Once you enter the park the beautiful trees, plants and flowers are breath taking! Seeing the animals in their habitats was awesome. There's peacocks and iguanas roaming freely everywhere! I adored this place!!!!!

Sylvain Laliberté

Very good value for the price. Not the biggest park but for 20 bucks, I enjoyed a lot the different wild animals in the park. It's very well held and the seems to take a very good care of the animals. Ideal for a quick (around 1 h and half) activity with the family. Thanks guys !

Cat Shaubach

A great place to wander through thier gardens and see a variety of plants trees, as well as birds, and animals.

Joe Spencer

We visited this place as part of an excursion after our cruise. Our flight didn't leave until 5 pm so this is a great option. The tour bus guide was knowledgeable on the area and Florida history. It was a cloudy and rainy day but we still progressed. The birds were out and there was quite a bit of wildlife to see. One little secret we discovered was acting like you had some food in your hand. The little white birds with the long beaks and even the male peacocks would walk right over and peck at our hand as though we had food. The staff was awesome, very friendly and super happy to see us there. There was a sweet lady at the food hut who brought a crock pot of homemade chili. It was amazing. Right when you get off the bus walk past the food truck and get your chili on. It went fast and was worth the $4.00.

Cupcake Queen

It was good but i didn't see alot of animals

Cherian Mathew

Came across this on our way to another spot. Great place must visit with family. Good amount of walking and activities. Parking on site was not full but opposite to road there was additional parking.

MICHAEL MAZZARINO

Always a great inventory of flowers, shrubs, fruit trees, etc. Staff very helpful as was a young woman in the yard and the cashier both answering my questions thoroughly and enthusiastically. Not so much for a woman who was watering tables of flowers who curtly answered some questions but seemed otherwise to not want to be bothered. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt due to her standing in the hot Florida sun and being busy. That said I will always return to this great nursery.

LuAnn Binschus

Beautiful gardens, interesting animals. We visited on a week day and nearly had the place to ourselves. It was a peaceful respite to a busy vacation. Highly recommend!

kaye Dash

This was our first time going here and we will be back next week! This is a must see when you come to south Florida, blew butterfly world out of the water. 60acres of beautiful birds, flowers and trees. Looking forward to our next visit, we were unable to attend the animal encounter this time because my 2 year old was ready for her nap but we will definitely check it out next time :)

suprabha sk

Good for kids. Not much to see, just has a pond with a few famingos. There are a lot of peacocks. If you are lucky you can catch a peacock dance.

Alejandra Osorio

It's the only place where you can find an albino peacock, some exhibitions, etc. It's small but beautifull and educative

Steve Peek

Nice palm and flower gardens with unique trees and plants. Home and recovery for many birds and animals, many of which are released into the wild if possible after recovery. A very loving home for those that couldn't be.

Anna Cookie

This place is amazing! Lots of wildlife beautiful gardens and a fun tram ride! Definitley check out this gem!

Tony Ferreira

Pretty cool place to bring the kids. Lots of fun. I recommend talking the tour trolley and pant garden room.

Reza Rameez

Great outing. Our family enjoyed the visit as you can see lots of animals of interest. Definitely recommend to anyone with children.

NUALA OLEARY

Beautiful property. Fun and funky art throughout. Even though it poured down, it was still a fun time. Between raindrops we walked the diverse property. Beautiful trees, plants and wildlife abound. Love that there are art programs held here - adds to its charm. Oh and try the chili at the outdoor cafe!

Jeanne Menkhaus

Great park! I've been a couple of times. This time was extremely hot but there were some updates since the last time and there was a dinosaur exhibit going on throughout the park which my Son loved!

Lila Varoli

Flamingo Gardens is my favorite place in the whole of Florida. It is magical! Their commitment with rescuing animals and protecting them is amazing. My granny used to go and loved it. My mom always goes when she's on Florida, she was the one to take me. I took my boyfriend a couple years ago for the first time and this Feb of 2019 I was proposed to there! So this place really is amazing and worth your time!

Eileen Moreno

Loved this place. I will definitely return for another family time.

Isabel Tay

Spent the whole day and had a great time! We saw all the animals and were able to take some beautiful pictures. My only suggestion would be have more food options. They had a small cafe but it was mostly junk food. We will definitely visit again.

Jenny Gonzalez

Great place to take the kids. There is so much to see and enjoy nature. Kids and adults will love it and take advantage of the September specials on the weekends!! Absolutely recommend it! Fun for the family.

Rebekah Stephens

The yearly membership is totally worth it if you live in the area and want something to do with the kids regularly. You get your moneys worth and it is a very relaxed place, so you can spend 30minutes here then go and come back the next week. It's my kids favorite place to go in the afternoons after school. There are snacks and a nice gift shop (also get a discount with your membership card). We usually eat before we go but bring drinks. There are lots of events as well which are outlined ahead on their website. This place has been around for so long and it is still a great local spot.

Sarah Watts

Spent the whole entire day there and loved it. Took our 12 and 13 yr old niece and nephew and had a blast. Watched all the shows and saw everything and felt like we still needed more time. We will definitely be back!!

Jenn McAllister

We’ve been here before for the orchid shows. We brought out 18 month old this time and she had a blast. We bought orchids and supplies and she got to see otters, a bear, flamingos, birds, owls, of course peacocks and cats- all the sweet cats. The place really is amazing but they do a great job for the orchid show too!! It’s a good place to go to walk around, enjoy nature, and animals.

Lourdes Gonzalez

Great place to get a little education of plants and animals. Plus you get your steps in. Kids would love it.

Sarah Lamb

I love this garden so much that I am a member. Flamingo gardens is a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of South Florida. I also enjoy taking pictures of the stunning wildlife, flowers, and nature that is everywhere within the garden. This is a must see spot if you are in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Kim Tyler

This was an incredible find. If you have time to spend here...DO IT! it was $20 to get in but worth every penny. They have many kinds of birds, a panther, a bear and of course flamingos. You can walk at your own pace, or take a 25 min tram tour. There is also an interactive wildlife adventure session. The flowers and plants are amazing and the entire grounds are well kept. There are snacks and smoothies available and a gift shop. They are only open from 9 to 5 and they close promptly at 5pm. Take the time to enjoy this treasure.

Rachelle Calderin

Flamongo gardens was a lot larger than i thought it would be. A lot of the space is just open area with peacocks literally everywhere there is also the oldest house in Broward County located in there and guests are able to walk a little tour through it. There is also a team that runs about every 20-30 minutes that takes you to the end to see the different trees and vegetation. A lot of birds, 1 bear, Panthers flamingos, alligators and the cutest sea otters sliding down their slide! There is also a show which they bring out about 3 animals and talk about them but I suggest to get there early if you want a seat on a weekend. I would suggest visiting in the colder months right when it opens so that it's not so hot. Also maybe even in September because they have a special $7 deal that month in weekend. Which cant be beat! Not the zoo but perfect for a local family day. I really like the fact that it's a sanctuary. All the animals here have been rescued.

Sara Stowe

So glad I visited. Beautiful park. Beautiful animals. Friendly staff. Look for the cat in the shop!

karen tierney

Flamingo Gardens is a terrific botanical garden. It also houses rescued animals who have been injured and can't go back in the wild. Beautiful peacocks roam the grounds. There is currently a dinosaur exhibit. There is a bear, alligator, eagles, owls, turtles, otters, bobcat and many other birds. It is definitely worth the trip.

Mary Parish

Just finished Mothers Day Brunch. Great food, music and service. Loved the gift ship too. Bought an annual membership.

Kenneth Walser

Wow! What a fantastic experience. The plethora of both fauna and Flora was extensive and impressive. So so many birds! And none pooped on my head!! My wife loved all the flowers and plants everywhere. Definitely a must see.

William Smith

Nice place to go with the family great price I went to see the dinosaur exhibit. They do offer wheelchairs and everyone was very friendly

Sharon Wolf

Beautiful gardens, lots of rescued wildlife, some amazing trees...think champions...and a cool dinosaur exhibit going on until September 2nd.

judy shapiro

Something for everyone. Beautiful rare flowers and trees. Animals and beautiful birds. A little piece of the Garden of Eden.

Marlana Ciliberto

I locked my keys in the car today and then found out my renewed policy didn't have roadside. There are at least 5 employees I can picture in my mind right now who all participated in trying to help me find a way to get in to my car without having to pay tons of money for a locksmith. Staff is incredible, makes me want to work or volunteer there. :) we enjoyed a full afternoon at flamingo gardens today, luckily I found out about my keys when we were ready to go home. Thank you to all!

Christina Rodriguez

If you like the outdoors and beautiful plant life of Florida, this is the place to come! It's do beautiful and you must take the tram and get dropped off at the wetlands and walk around enjoy the beauty of it all.

Shelby Bremer

It was a great place to spend the afternoon and see all the different plants. Their dinosaur exhibit was really neat. Only complaint that was the person doing the train tour was really hard to understand

Ed West

This is the best way to experience how Florida looked before the tourists arrived! Animals of all kinds were everywhere and vegetation was incredible. Great place for the whole family! The staff really cares for the grounds and all of the animals within. Most of them even have names. My favorite was Domingo, the 21 year old flamingo.

Jairzinho Chapa

Flamingo gardens is an incredible little gem tucked on the side of flamingo road. They offer tons of information on the wildlife and actually help rehabilitate injured animals. Lots of natural beauty to take in. Definitely worth the price of admission (20 for an adult) would go back again

Eric Rodriguez

I have visited here many times over the years and it's just as good every time. Love the plants and animals. The staff are amazing and prices are fair to visit a long standing Broward county landmark.

Rojeana Calloway

September weekend $7 makes it more affordable

Beth Clippinger

Super fun, great for all ages, awesome food truck with vegan options. Great to walk through and see animals are well cared for and some released back into the wild. Great price too!

Marylynn DeGesero

Always a delight! Been going for over 20 years. It is a refuge...not a zoo. Shady walking paths are well maintained. Animal enclosures are always clean and well kempt. Flamingos are my favorite.

Hello Gal

Good place to have a good time with family or friends. The staff is nice and friendly.

Chris Olson

Great place for adults and kids who love the outdoors, especially animals and plants. The property was originally an Orange orchard owned by the Wray family and is on the tallest site for miles. Excellent tram tour that runs for about 30 minutes identifying the plants and their history. The bird sanctuary was great!!

Colz Mows

Family and I had a good time at the Flamingo Gardens. Beautiful park for the whole family. Friendly staff and clean garden, you can also feed the peacocks or any small animals in the area. I will recommend it to visit it with the family.

Isabella Reyzman

Very nice park to visit. Great for kids and adults.

ALC Cm

If you are in Broward you have to visit this place. It is a little paradise in South fl. All the animal are rescued and the vegetation is so vast that you have shade almost everywhere you walk. I have gone here at least 6 times and I will always go back. The entrance fees are not cheap ($20 adults / 12 children) but i pay them without a problem because everything goes to take care of the animals. Inside they have food options, even vegetarian choices that very afforable.

Michael Ellis

Absolutely amazing experience. Went on a spontaneous trip over to the gardens and was surprised with all the peacock walking around. They have a lot of animals and flamingos that you can feed by hand!

Rudy Pilon

You can tell that the staff genuinely enjoy their job, the way they greet you and present themselves, full of knowledge and able to answer all questions asked. There's plenty to do and see and when you get tired of walking you can rest your legs on the trolley ride pointing out most of the plants and trees on the acreage.

Michael Lee

1) Educational 2) Interactive with wild creatures 3) Very relaxed walking around the park. 4) Friendly park workers 5) Don't miss the tram ride, very informational!

Thaddeus Fine

Good variety of animals. Good exercise. Shady. But housing and exhibits need some refurbishing. Good time.

Vlad .Karpenko

Not bad, nice place to go with kids.

Zack O'Grady

This place was a great find, we had a great experience with our 9 month old. Staff were really nice and knowledgeable and the animals were well taken care of, can not say enough good things about this place, highly recommended. We need more places like this, they do great things for plant and animal conservation. I'll be following them on FB

Varun Kasal

Good place to spend time with your partner or with your family if interested in wildlife / nature ! Potential to make great improvements but as of now it’s still a good but definitely not a great botanical garden !

Brooke Mabbitt

Stunningly beautiful. Enjoyed every minute and didn't want to leave.

Reviewer RODRIGUEZ

Great place to visit. We came here for a Cub Scout Event and John Brugos helped us out the whole way. Everything here is beautiful. If you are in south Florida you should try and visit this wonderful place.

Vernon Dickson

I always enjoy visiting Flamingo Gardens. For me it's a place of peace and positive memories, an oasis. I appreciate what they do within the community and their work with animals. I feel better each time I leave.

James Major

An excellent time was had by all. Great guided tour. Lots of places to roam on your own. Clean facilities. Will go again.

Claudia Doherty

Great place to spend with family. The have a LOT of beautiful peacocks. Informative tram ride across the park. Everyone who works here is extremely nice. Loved it.

Katie Cline

Even though when we went it was sweltering outside, the trip was well worth it for the $7 September weekend price. We even got to see them feed the otters, which was a major plus! Free roaming birds, helpful and knowledgeable staff/naturalists, what a neat place!

Steven Swanner

This place is a nice starter zoo. But needs lots of help. We enjoyed it for what it was. Hope they get better donations in the future.

Saujanya Aryal

Good value for money in Florida where everything costs so much. Its very well suited for any weather, hot or humid. Plenty of flora and fauna along with birds and animals. I would recommend this place over Miami Zoo or air boats.

Evangeline Cordova

Beautiful Botanical Garden we used to visit when I was a child 50 years ago. It was free the only thing you paid for was the train ride. Now it's a different story so commercialized. But still beautiful. You can come in and look at the birds for free and walk around the front area and go in the gift shop

wilson leguisamon

Hidden gem! I actually volunteered there and found that I will visit and take my time touring it. It's also a recue so all funds are a big benefit. Go for a day of disconnecting from the real world and not having to drive to the ends of south Florida for an animal experience, even if it's limited amount of animals.

Kristen Robards

This place is AWESOME. Very well maintained and being from our of town, the plants especially were cool :) this place is basically a dope bird zoo with some other animals sprinkled in. Loved it. But for being a Flamingo Garden, I wish there would have been more flamingos.

Alberto Navarrete

I went here on a classroom field trip in May 2019. I would say the garden is adequate. For it to be called "Flamingo Gardens" there were only several flamingos in the garden. I felt the staff was overwhelmed by the number of children in the garden. The staff was a bit pushy and off-putting. I will not return because the price is too expensive for not a lot of gardens. The staff made a sour impression on me.

A great day out. We were looking for something to do on an overcast day, this was perfect. Low key. Lots of intetesting plants and trees. The animals they keep not only represent Florida's fauna, but they are rescues, who would not be able to live in the wild or are injured. So for this reason, I applaud what they do. Not a nasty zoo, by any means. They release the animals they can back into the wild, or breed and release offspring to the wild. Was well worth the time and trip.

Very unique with many birds. The tram is a must, the guide was very informative.

Well worth the money. People with young kids will like the dinosaurs and the aviary was awesome. Being that close to the birds was great and the flamingos they had were friendly and the informative tram ride and wildlife encounter added some context to the plant and animal life.

Nice botanical garden to bring your family to, especially when it's not too hot outside. I recommend the tram ride since it allows you to appreciate the entire property. The educational animal show its pretty cool too. It was nice to know all their animals are rescued, and also see they are kept in good conditions. It will take you approximately 2 hours to see everything. In addition, you can buy fresh fruits if their market is open and pictures at their gallery. The house of the founders was made into a museum and that was pretty interesting to see as well. If you enjoy nature, you will like this place.

Tram ride guide was great. The live encounter show was very inpressive even though I do not like certain species. Very happy with this place and highly recommend.

Excellent place to take your kids. The park has multiple type of birds including an albine peacock!. Price for tickets is fear although throughout the year they have offers. There are multiple places were to park precisely across the street where the park is located at, not to mention is free.

Lynne Magruder

Beautiful. Shaded. Free tram ride with informative narrative. Great for young kids and adults

My family and I really enjoyed ourselves. So many areas to explore,so many beautiful animals to admire. We had a blast,if you're ever in FLORIDA, please pay a visit you won't regret it.

I can’t say enough about this beautiful place. It was perfect. I don’t know if I’ll ever get close to animals like that again in my lifetime, so take the opportunity while it’s there! I would definitely go back in a heartbeat. This really makes you appreciate animals and our ecosystem so much more.

josh gabriel

The animals are treated very well and the staff is super friendly definitely going back

Jack Fiore

Beautiful wildlife sanctuary and botanical gardens. Animals were very active. Feeding the spoonbills in the aviary and watching the otters play was fun. The tram ride was very informative. Will definitely go back to spend more time when its warmer.

David Switzer

Love this place so much, the wife and go all the time! Beautiful gardens some of the most amazing tree you will see in south Florida. As well as their work with rescue animals!

Romina Taggart

Is a nice park but some of the exhibits need to be clean!

Graham Sherwood

Amazing place full of wildlife wonders and fabulous plants and trees.

Flor Diaz

We went to see the Dinosaur Exhibit and I fell in love. The twins had a blast exploring and walking the trails and playing with all the birds and animals. I am a nature enthusiast and a believer in being outdoors to recharge body and mind and this park was excellent for that. Highly recommended.

Sheryl Walls

What an incredible day trip for us! The Aviary is gorgeous and such a treat. If you get a chance to tour the Wray house that is on the property, please do. So many original items that add to the history of the property. The animal enclosures really allow the public to see the animals in all of their glory! Loved it and we will make the 2 hour drive to return.

Marsha

We had a super fun time! We went on an adventurous tram ride through 4 distinct biomes. Learnt about, and petted, alligators, King snakes, and great horned owls. We saw a panther, flamingos, a black bear, and so many different birds of prey! Playing with the others in the rain was our favorite part though! We would definitely recommend!

Santiago Rodriguez

Great place to come with your family on a weekend now thats $7 per person.

Suga Brown

My favorite part was after most patrons left the park me and my family got the prettiest show with the peacocks. All of the male peacocks started to spread their wings for the ladies. This can be hard to catch when the park is full of people. The tram ride was also informative. Public restrooms not that clean when we were there and we didn't get to see any alligators more than likely because of the time of day.

Ward Dawson

Great place in the middle of suburban FL. Bring quarters so you can feed the birds. Will definitely go again

Kimberly DeSocio

great place for kids and adults. such a pretty place, I always take visitors here when they come to FL. Love the animals and walking paths.

richard tommer

My family and I love this place. It is a step back to Old Florida. There are a ton of animal exhibits, as well as historic homes. This place is a great way to spend a family day, or just go for a walk through the rural history of Florida. This is a Hidden Gem in West Broward.

Edgar Hilton

Flamingo Gardens was a very pleasant surprise to the entire family. We all fell in love with all the animals and local plants. Moreover, the train ride around the gardens was both fun and enlightening. I think that we were there in one of the hottest days, but the shade and Orange shaped concession stand more than helped in that regard. Even a week after our visit, my kids (teenager included) have not stopped talking about the animal encounter, and "the Oppossum (not Possum, Dad! That's Australian)", the skunk, and the raccoon. Will definitely visit again on our next visit to the area.

I have been enjoying FG since moving here in the mid-90's. I cannot recall the loads of plants, trees, flowers and accessories I have purchased from them. They are wonderful people and extremely helpful...

Roxanne Notte

I loved this place. Felt so peaceful. Had visited many many years ago where I remember mostly citric trees for some reason. It has totally changed for the better. However, I came with grandchildren now and felt like it's more for adults then children.(Younger chidren). That's it. Otherwise awsome place. Different and unique!

Jason P

Our family of 6 spent over 3 hours here and enjoyed every bit of it. Their wildlife encounters show and guided tour of the property were sweet. The staff is great and do a nice job with the grounds and animal care. They are funded by donations and proceeds from sales. It's good knowing the money is going to a good cause.

Isabella Sirker

I loved this place ever since I was little, it's been 5 stars since then

Laura Smith Mitchell

I enjoyed every minute of my visit at this really cool and devoted to rehabbing birds place!

Fareena B Tsudek P.A.

This is one of the oldest gardens in South Florida and has one of the tallest peaks in Broward County. It is a wildlife preserve sanctuary and a great place to spend exploring nature

Brook Goddard

Had been over 40 years since I had last visited as a child and I had come to think of Flamingo Gardens as a kitschy tourist attraction but I was wrong. There definitely is the typical tourist gift shop and things but the gardens and property were really beautiful. I especially liked the old Wray house. It helped to get a sense of living back in old Florida. Can be a little hot and humid during the summer but we caught a day with low humidity and a good breeze so it was very pleasant. The tram helps you to cover the very large acreage but there is also many walkways to stroll and attractions to see. Definitely a great place to take kids.

Susan Workman

Took 5 off our grandkids to see the dinosaur exhibit. Was fun to watch them find all of them. Watched an informative show with live animals and got to touch a real dino bone. Saw all of the regular exhibits as we walked. Was a very fun afternoon. The kids had a blast

juana alfonso

Wonderful place, very nice people, and a great time for a family.

Maria Rossello

It is a beautiful and educational place to learn about Florida's ecosystem. These are all rescued animals and the tour guides will tell you in a compassionate way how some of them ended up there.
