Great place to visit. Will bring you a lot of memories from childhood. The miniatures are just breath taking. The attention to details is phenomenal!!!! Definitely put this place in your list when you visit Sarasota....

William Dye

Wonderful place for the family. It brought back so many memories. Love it.

Linda Hathaway

Did the museum of art today. Spectacular collection of old masters through contemporary art.

Howie Belsky

The model built by Howard is amazing, totally worth the price of admission. Ringing's summer home is a great take.

Romey

An amazing look at Circus artifacts history and and the world's biggest miniature circus replica

Stacey Ropp

One of the best parks in Sarasota widespread and covered with trees for shade

John Fought

Unique history location.

Luke Fairbanks

Never knew the circus was such a detailed & complex operation until I saw the circus diorama they have. Very interesting to learn about how it all worked & a few questions are raised such as why circuses aren't a big deal anymore

Mark Gooding

If you want to see some Florida history this place is great. The house is amazing. We did the 10 dollar tour of first floor in addition to 25 dollar admission fee. A little pricey. Museum and garden areas were also good.

Ann Marie Meadows

Loved the huge spaces and grounds. Although during the summer months it is warm, bring a water to be hydrated. But you need to be able to show it into a tote or bag as the museums do not allow beverages. There is a coffee shop at the main entrance, a cafe on the grounds for a quick way and beverages to refresh yourself. Give yourself plenty of time to see the various museums. So much to read and see. They even have docent guided mini tours. The Rose garden is fragrant and lovely to walk through. There is no shade in the Rose garden. Next to it is a kids mini-play space, jungle-climb and slide and some picnic tables. The secret garden is the resting place for Mr/Mrs Barnum and cozy little garden space and soothing. From the secret garden walk to Ca' d'Zan terrace, free to walk around and enjoy the facing of the house. And catch nice breezes off the gulf. The main house is extra and not included in the main price. There are 3 different tours available in the main house and best to call ahead to see what is available. Remember kids are welcome but need to watch so that in the museums they don't get into mischief. There is an interactive side of the circus museum great for the kids too be kids.

Trudy Moseley

What a spectacular place to visit you will need more than a day.

Leah McBee

Was a great experience! Would definitely go again and see the rest of the place as they were doing some renovations when we visited.

David Todd

A must see for history buffs or those with a love and memory of the circus. $25 gets you in to see the museum and and museum of art. Make sure to give yourself 5+ hours if you are going to enjoy the museums and grounds. The museum is full of artifacts, circus wagons, and costumes. A great way to spend the day away from the beach and enjoying the beautiful 66 acre grounds. Enjoy the Ringling rose garden, banyan trees, and carefully manicured grounds. There are two restaurants onsite. We ate at the outdoor Banyan Cafe...plan to spend $10-15 per person there.

Jeff Nehus

Great work it's getting better and better

Phil Vania

This time we went to just walk through the beautiful gardens and pathway through the wonderful banyan trees on the property. Went to the museum last year and it's a must. Definitely take the kids to the miniature circus exhibit which is mindblowing in it's details.

David Star

A must go to if in the area. Make sure to check out the jasmine room in the middle of the museum - if in bloom it worth it just for that.

Bruce Davison

A must-see museum. Pieces of Americana and fun history. Multifaceted opportunity, museum including video, static displays, models, hands-on displays, art gallery, gift shops, guided tours. Also a cafe on premises.

Ken Palosi

I am giving it five stars with reservations. It is a very nice place to visit but pricey. They have an unusual admission system that features several add-ons that can get out of hand. Forego the expensive docent tours and take a leisurely walk following the map and your own muse. There is an additional charge to take a self-guided tour of the first floor of the mansion and that is only available three times a day. The art museum is very nice. You can save a couple of bucks by going on a Monday; admission to the art museum is free on Mondays. Another word about admissions, they have the most inefficient ticket system I have ever seen at a major tourist attraction. We were in line for 30 minutes just to pay the high prices. All in all I am glad I went.

Barb Johnson

Was very interesting. Lots to see. Glad I went to visit!

jene robinson

Great preservation of old time circus history and exhibits. The art museum is also outstanding. Reasonable price for the quality.

Kim Haskin-Smith

This was a very unique and fun place! I wish I would have realized how huge the property is. I would have allowed for a couple more hours. We had time to tour the mansion, mini circus, and memorabilia museums. The mansion was guided. The guides are very knowledgeable and the facts are so interesting! I definitely recommend the John and Mabel tours!

Donna Strickland

Great place to take children. Fun and educational!

Diana Wasserman

Awesome

Michele Meischeid

Loved this place! We only had time to see the two circus buildings & some of the gardens. We will go back to your the home and art museum. Plan an all day trip and get there when they open. It definitely will take you all day to enjoy this site!

Jodi Ling

Great place to enjoy circus history. The Ringling Museum is something you shouldn’t miss.

Impressive and amazing place to visit in Sarasota FL.

Van Aken

So much fun. Loved the miniatures and the train cars!

Stephanie Novak

Slow service. Half was closed for renovation. Miniature model was neat.

Ray Heskin

Very nice. Beautiful grounds. Tibbals and circus museums were pretty good. Staff was great.

Marie Whyatt

Only visited the museum and Ca'd'Zan mansion. Both were fascinating. I especially enjoyed the miniatures exhibit, I had no idea before going but now I totally get why it was "the greatest show on Earth."

Dolores Shawe

Love this place so much that My husband and I are going back there taking my friend who has never been to Ringling Brothers Estate. Planning my whole trip around this place. So excited to return there. It’s so big, never get to see everything on the first visit. I would advise getting there early, right after they open 10:00 am. The miniature Circus is one of the most Amazing things I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. It’s a must see place for everyone, every age, very enjoyable Experience

Kelli Johnson

Anyone who rated this low has NEVER been here. If you enjoy an educational, historical and beautiful experience you must visit.

Patricia Reed

sharon K

What a wonderful experience! The miniature circus is absolutely amazing, what a treasure you have! Another must see in Sarasota

Brad Koller

Great experience and what a miniature display worth the time and price

Benson Nyam

Never knew this museum was even here. But it was one of the nicest places I've been to in Florida. It may even started a budding romantic relationship, great times!! Check it out!!!

Mark L.

Had a fine time visiting the museum and the grounds but skipped the art museum because we had our 8yo with us and they're not known for long attention spans, plus she killed 2.5 hours just at the circus museums and playground. The exhibits were well appointed and informative and the highlight of the museum for me was the incredible miniature model and the building with the vehicles and train car. The miniature was amazingly detailed and gave the vest picture of what life was like in the earlier days of the circus. Much more entertaining than words when trying to communicate the situation to a little one. The grounds and gardens were also quite nice to walk around as well with plenty of space and varieties of both plants and textures.

r kdf

Be ready for an exspensive time. To tour the second floor, you will really feel their hand in your wallet. Nice place, if you go during cool weather.

janet ward jacobs

Very informative and interesting

Lynn Medley

This is a really neat place to learn about the beginnings of the circus. A memory that kids now will have to learn from a book or a museum.

Wayne Currie

Great circus museum. The old trucks and carriages are wonderful as is the Ringling Train carriage.

Rachel Raffield

Wonderful experience!!! Museum was clean, the gardens gorgeous, and staff friendly.

Amy Hart

The circus museum was amazing! I normally just enjoy the art museum, but was blown away by the miniature circus and all of the artifacts.

Glenn Hendrick

Greatest exhibit on earth

Matthew Dill

I am a history lover so this place was really cool to me. Seeing all the costumes and the giant diorama was really cool. I kind of wanted to run off and join the circus. The mansion was also pretty cool but having lived near Newport Rhode Island I had seen the mansions there so that part of the tour along with the fact they were doing some major exterior repairs kind of made that part not as exciting. If you haven't seen one of the Victorian mansions I'd make sure to add it to the plan though.

Gary Ruckstuhl

This is in a large complex. We parked by the arts center (ballet) which is near the visitor center. It's labeled as the Ringling Arts Center not the circus! We enjoyed the museum but the visitor center was a mess. Signage was lacking. Understaffed with one person dedicated to members onlyand not willing to take a single person while there was NO one at her desk for 15 min. Line was 45 min long and only got better when half way through three more staff came out. The greeters and podium staff in the lobby were blunt and unhelpful, not answering our question with a direct answer. Once in the museum The initial welcome movie was often interrupted by the greeting staff speaking so loud, you could not hear the movie. The museum itself has a lot of displays which have "reading podiums". This was difficult with people standing right in front and blocking anyone else from being able to see. Many little (4x5 inches ?) video screens around as well of original footage. Second floor has some interactive things (not much) and more about specific artists and factoids. THE BEST PART was the huge (25 years to build) model of the entire circus life. From the trains that carried everyone and everything, to the town lot where the tents were set up, the circus acts inside the tent and all the surrounding area. Back lot, barbershop, animal care center, kids sneaking into the tent, the amazing kitchen... This made the whole event! Definitely worth seeing! But- Get your tickets in advance, and try to find a will call. (Good luck).

Sandra Weister

Enjoyed the history & all the items they had to show, worth the trip.

Ginny Haight

We arrived at 11 am and were met by long lines for general admission. Members only line went quickly though. Docent led tours were very informative . Muse restaurant was crowded at our 1:15 pm seating.

charles broyles

Learned so much. Have always been a circus fan. Had no idea that it was so large in its day. It is a shame, because of so few that it is gone.

Brenda Tamm

There's something for everyone here: Fine Art, Circus Arts, and beautiful grounds!

Eric Tanner

Very beautiful grounds. Makes me want to go to the circus.

Aida Gonzalez

What an incredible experience. My boys loved the scenery and the park. The grounds are free to walk and they have the cutest little cafe next to the park. Staff was very friendly and we enjoyed taking pictures with the statues and mansion. Definately coming back to visit.

Claire Carton

Great gardens and do the mansion tour. Takes two days to see it all.

Bill Martin

Brings back long forgotten memories.

Letitia Payne

This place is great alot too see and make sure you take your kids or grandchildren. You will probably have to go back or plan on spending the whole day it is huge! Has many different exhibits plus the house he and his wife lived in. Great place to visit! The price to get in is a little high but worth it. A must see!

Mark Spengler

Simply an amazing slice of American history. Don't drive down the Gulf Coast of Florida without stopping here for the afternoon. Wonderful gardens, miniatures, and staggering art museum.

Liese Lynch

Loved it! Miniature circus is amazing! Wish we had more time!

Diane K

Very interesting displays, I expected a lot more of the circus memorabilia but what they have is interesting.

William Marotz

Miniature and elaborate circus dioramas and full size circus artifacts.

Amanda Hegidus

Amazing museum. Very interesting

Denise Rychlik

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The miniature display inside the grounds is amazing! Didn't get time to go through the house so I can't write that but the art museum was okay if you're into art.

mark wellington

Very nice. Definitely a must see. Museum was awesome. Grounds very nice. Definitely a must do.

SC PARC

Great authentic equipment. Very interesting, takes you back to your childhood memories of the circus. The miniatures were amazing. Plan to spend at least 4 to 6 hours to really see everything properly.

Doug Lasater

A piece of americanna not to be missed.

Sherry Roselius

This beautiful spot got spoiled today when we went there to walk the grounds when we were accosted by the security guard and 2 of his staff bully Zuba practically threw us off the grounds because we had our 2 Yorkie service dogs. He demanded to know what these dogs did for us, we told him and then he had the nerve to say that is not true these are not service dogs, I had the paperwork and showed it to the staff, then he said those are fake and leave the grounds. He was rude and wrong they are service animals so I feel he needs sensitivity training and customer service training. A person like him should not be working anywhere with authority and lack of supervision because his little power he has as a security guard goes to his head.

martin heumann

Amazing art and history behind Ringling Brothers their gardens are fabulous well worth the price of admission

s O'

See my Ringling Estate review sll on same Estate. In short, it was great

Carphly S. R

The miniature version is so pretty.OMG. I can’t wait to go to an actual circus.

Baishali Acharya

Great collection of old memories well preserved.

T Moran

Havi g grown up going to his circus, i especially liked his museum. His personal train car, wow.

Eric Myers

Fantastic place with the two circus museums and the Art Museum. Leave yourself probably double the time you think I'll need. I didn't and had to rush through the art museum which looks like like it was raided out of the Louvre in Paris.

Rob Kroupa

Ringling's circus museum is a must see! So glad we went! Only wish we had planned on being there longer so we could have seen more!

Jaymie Richie

We really enjoyed the art museum and circus museum, both which we participated in the tours. Really recommend the tours because the volunteers who give them are very knowledgeable. The trolley car that went between buildings was very convenient as we could hop on for the longer walks. We enjoyed a snack at the little cafe before we walked the gardens around Ca' d'Zan, the Ringlings' mansion. We didn't get the tours in the mansion and it was likely better because it would have been a much longer day. Next visit!!! I certainly left with an appreciation for the circus, its history and of those performers who entertained all.

Nora Jean Boulware

What an amazing place to visit! We really enjoyed the gardens too. They were working on the facade of the house so we will take that tour another time. Thanks so much.

Joshua Gann

This was one of the coolest places I've ever been in my life. Literally everything captures your attention in that place from the art, to the props used, and the unique history that ties it all together. Make sure to bring camera, sunscreen for when you're outside, and perhaps some lunch to eat out on the mansion patio.

Mary Hogueisson

Fabulous place to visit make sure you have lots of time try and get on some tours you learn a lot

Nancy S.

This doesn't take a long time to visit but it's interesting to see the circus' history. The exhibits have much improved from years past. Be sure to look in the other building as well to see the extensive model of a circus "in town". A worthwhile stop while you are on the grounds of the Ringling estate.

Julian Warner

Awesome sauce! It's fun to look at the cool things there!

Lisa H

Had a little yoga photo adventure here in 2016 and it's been my favorite ever since! So many beautiful sights at this one location.

Keith Anthony Boudreaux Jr.

Best time seeming the trains the old circus stuff. We had fun in the active area where I was clown and type rope. Lots of hands on stuff for the kids a movie about the circus. Bath rooms was clean. Workers everywhere to ask for help

Melissa Stockbridge

Amazing! A great trip for anyone who enjoys history, remembers the circus or loves architecture.

Christine Smolski

All around great exhibit! A must see for everyone, young and old!

Lynn Olzacki

Always great! Highly recommend.

Bethany Holmes

Kayann Johansson

This was really amazing! Wish i had more time to walk through the gardens. The trolley to get around was very nice and convenient. Was wonderful to have for older parents. The house tour was given very professionally and whimsically. All of the volunteers where helpful and knowledgeable.

Mike Gebbia

Great outing. Interesting history.

Ryan C

An awesome experience and extremely educational.

Eric Kreider

The miniatures and story of The Greatest Show on Earth we're intriguing, fun and educational. Fun for the whole family.

Chris Douglas

If you like the circus rhen this is a amazing place it gives you the entire history of the circus

DAVE ASUTOSH

Simply awesome. So deep detail of old circuses. Very nicely managed.

Pamela Miller

Spent 7 hours and still didn't see everything. Some parts are still under construction. Is a very educational way to feel how Sarasota grew to be the place it is today. Will be returning to visit all that was missed on first trip. Monday's are free entrance, except for John and Maple home. I recommend taking the Mable's tour and the John's tour. The tower bedroom is under construction at this time.

Walter Weismantel

Fantastic. Must see

Robert Smith

Trip back in time to win entertainment had to be found not delivered to your home

Chris Rowand

It was a nice day. The mansion was the most special part of our visit.

Amanda O

We love this place. It's a magical day.

Jane Harris

Great collection. Something for everyone. The miniature collection is mind blowing! Fun and interactive exhibits.

Joseph Ferrucci

Great place to visit.

Will Mooney

OMG, extraordinary place! The circus museum, the art museum, the house, and the grounds. This wonderful place is worth a trip all it's own. 2 days of fantastic, fun, and inspiring sights and learning. Get to it!

Debra Keafer

What a fun way to spend the day. Enjoyed the history of the circus. Enjoyed the tour of the mansion. Such a beautiful view from the balcony of the museum. Wish cocktails were sold while relaxing looking out at the water. We even ate at the cafe. Simple sandwiches, but tasty. Would definitely recommend.

Margaret Hayter

This museum and the grounds are truly worth the price of admission. Plan to spend a lot of time there. You probably won't get through it all on the first time. The grounds are very nice. Too tired to walk back to the entrance? No problem, there is a free gitney to take you back. Go to the art museum on a Monday when it's free. It will be crowded, but, hey, it's free.

Mam Net

My favorite place to go in Sarasota twenty some years ago. Still has a lot of charm. Very expensive.

arista wise

The miniature is so amazing...and there are so many things to learn about the circus..in history etc...

Randy Gordon

Great place must see in Sarah sota..

Serg

One of my favorite places to visit, enjoy especially Garden and water side areas, great place to relax.

John mattson

Great art museum. Staff are very knowledgeable also. Highly recommend.

Jessica Carter

The museum was really cool. Liked that they had old circus material and equipment that you could look through. Not a very large museum but a lot of things you can read and take your time on.

Isavalerie Medina

Had a much better experience than what I expected, it's great for families or even just to stroll around on your own. They really try to bring you back in time which is really cool and they even have a little interactive museum.

Donald Cox

It was closed for renovation. Wump wump

Mark Frericks

Really enjoyed the tours. Exceeded my expectations.

Austin Mohr

It is an incredibly cool place however there were a few things that bugged me about the management of the museum. Before I get into I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone to go here for a great experience. First off half of the museum was closed and we were not told this when buying our tickets to see the museum. Secondly when you see the Howard Circus replica it was all hand done by one man who still works there to this day working on that miniature circus because he loves to but despite him asking numerous times the management of the museum still refuses to let him put a plaque in the circus stating that there have been over 7000 hours of work put into creating this amazing miniature circus. Overall is highly recommend this place but from some parts of my experience their management could do a better job.

Honey Rechtin

The child within will love it. So worth the money and time. I'm thrilled after 50 years they are here, expanding and better than ever.

rojowell1 ginger

My grandpa (now passed) took me here when I was younger and I loved it. Years later I want to take my daughter to this museum (and house) to see the wonders of yesteryear. The circus had always been wonderful and magical (I will acknowledge it has a dark side) but still, great to see in person. I will also say I am a big fan of "The Greatest Showman" and the trip my grandpa took me on was one of the main reasons I wanted to see the movie. It's one of my favorites of all time.

Evan Kohuth

Such a cool atmosphere. The miniature collection was awesome. Very well put together. Worth the price.

S. Carter

The kids really enjoyed this circus museum. Lots of fun memorabilia and americana. The Ringling's fancy box car was especially interesting.

Jessica Wilson

What a cool experience! My 7 year old loved it so much! The house tour was amazing

Sam Lam

The of the best museums we've been

Deis Family

Great visit, by careful because they will make you wear your baby bag on the front. No bags can be on your back or side... also, they don't let you know this until you get through ticketing, security and into the main facility.

T.L. Anderson

Full-day experience with a good mixture of art mediums and an interactive circus museum for kids.

Glenn Maney

A terrific place and fun for all. Next time we go we will spend the entire day to see the other museums and exhibits available on the property. Very impressive now and has the potential to be even better in the future. Enjoyed everything from the volunteers to the mansion.

Lynn R. Peters

Fascinating museum. I was surprised how interesting I found circus history to be, and the Ringling mansion is amazing! Tickets are complicated; there are 3 or 4 options so make sure you know what you're getting. Insider tip: Parking can be challenging during peak season. Be patient and a spot will open up!

Lori Roldan

This was just a awsome place

Megan Stout

An awesome place to visit. Very educational and appealing on the eyes. So much to look at and explore through. Can definitely spend hours and hours here. Or just come back on different days. They Seem to also get new exhibits so that’s worth always coming back and checking out

David Bamford

Excellent museum, Art Museum and gorgeous grounds

W.F. Casey Ebsary, Jr.

Make sure and check out the human Cannonball truck. Capable of firing two people out the barrel the length of a football field at a hundred and twenty miles an hour. Must see. Also beautifully restored rail car that Ringling would Cruise the country. These guys were living large.

HaysDraper & Associates

Cool, but not cool enough to pay over $30/person.

John Flack

Fabulous museum. Not to be missed if you're in the Sarasota area

Charles Inghilterra

Excellent recreation of circus life. The attention to detail was amazing. Well worth the price of admission.

Beatriz Dattoli

Great asset to Bradenton Sarasota area. Beautiful collection of Art, circus memorabilia, gardens all set on Sarasota Bay.

Virginia Zimmer

Free to go on the grounds. Kids loved the playground and banyan tree to climb on.

Leah Suffin

A unique museum you won't find anywhere in the world. Insights to the amazing circus world from the setting up of the tents, taking care of performers including the four legged ones, to the grandeur of the costumes and fearless high wire acts. Historical, educational and beautifully presented.

Christa Haflett

We had a great time! So many things to see! The miniature circus was amazing!

brz ghost

Beautiful place you can visit with the whole family and for a small price you enter all the excivitions that are in place the people who work there are from another level regarding service and kindness

Rod Andrews

The staff is very helpful and informative. Circus miniatures in the museum are fantastic it's a must-see can't miss the grounds are kept up very well transportation is always there been a member for about five years which suggested to anybody for a visit view is fantastic

Judit Judit

It was wonderful!I traveled from Europe to see!

Aec4799

Perfect place for the whole family! My grandparents enjoyed walking around and so did I! The miniature circus set up was my favorite! Staff/volunteers were very helpful in directing us "newcomers" where to go. A very pleasant experience!

David Palmer

Allow a whole day! Also, be aware that the Art Museum section is free!!! Four different areas, Circus Museum (with the best diorama I have ever seen), the Circus Equipment Museum, John’s House and the Art Museum (which is spread over two buildings too!) There is a small cafe in the gardens and a bigger eatery (and a shop) at the entrance. VERY nice volunteer guides - and the only downside - slightly pompous security staff!!

G W

I'm not a big fan of animal circuses, however, the exhibits are truly remarkable, especially for the era that the circus was popular. A must stop and see with many photographic opportunities. Highly recommend!

don don

Great place to spend the day

Sheryl Walls

We had an amazing time. The miniature circus is awesome! I could have looked at it for hours. The mansion is a must see too! The grounds are so nice. It's a lot of walking, but peaceful and very educational too!

Loretta Lisowski

Fascinating museum. The miniatures are a no miss.

Joel Davis

The kids park here is fun, museum was really interesting. I wasn't sure what to expect going I'm, and thought it might be a little campy. But the exhibits, especially the miniature circus display (a huge room with a full circus layout that you walk around and through) was really great. I would come here again. Some better options for food later in the day would be nice.

Randy Simon

Super worth it, paintings, beautiful home, lush grounds, muse restaurant !

El Gato

Excellent place to visit. The history of the circus in the US is really unique. When you see the logistics required to move and run the circus it is mind blowing and to think this was done using old world technology.

carol rossen

We were able to make several visits to the museums this past vacation. Each time was incredible!! I would definitely recommend a stop at Ringling's Circus Museum to anyone!!!

Erika B

Absolutely amazing! Fantastic! Incredible! No seriously, the whole estate is amazing. Not just the circus museum which is fascinating to see the history and old glory of a wonder future generations will not get to experience. But, the art museum, estate home, botanical gardens... amazing. You pay one fee to go into all the museums and walk around the entire grounds. Now, for me I had a time limit so I was only there for 3 hours. But I could have been there for 6.

GP Mac

Interesting place to visit and learn the history of the circus industry and about the Ringling Bros Circus. Didn't realize the logistics involved. A good recommendation for out of state visitors.

David Finley

Lots of circus equipment. I remember seeing the human Canon ball truck when I was a kid.

Edward Smolski

Amazing miniature circus display.

jim jac

Everyone should go... If you enjoy history, art, circus, natural beauty, it is all here

Tressa Jagemann

Absolutely breath taking! This museum will take you back to your childhood and all things circus. The exhibits are very well done and explained. The grounds are simply a garden of Eden! Beauty beyond words! The mansion on the water is so beautiful. This place is a bit pricey but worth every penny! The staff is very informative and knowledgeable about the museum. You could go many times and discover something new each time.
