An absolutely amazing museum that has a very amazing tour which takes you thrkugh the history of the Seminoles in Florida. The museum also has a very good boardwalk which lets see you more of Seminole history and how the lived and survived and Everything. I HIGHLY recommend going here.

Michael Pounds

This is a nice place to go an check out. The museum has alot of interesting things in it. There is also an out side walk that is about a mile long and runs in a circle showing the different plants and critters that inhabit the area. Just make sure you bring water for the walk when its warm. There are water fountains on the trail, but the water is very warm. You do have to pay for the museum per person, but it is worth seeing. The staff is very helpful. I would recommend to see.

Roberta Lindsey

Absolutely a place to visit

Shawn Cowles

Good interactive exhibits

Don Browne

Excellent museum with displays inside and a walk around the exterior where from time to time there are activities and demonstrations of tribal life at a mock village. Too bad there is lots of construction and road noise to ruin the ambiance of the one-mile boardwalk through a cypress swamp. The lighting is very dim in the museum so if you need reading glasses bring them to read the display signs that have pretty small print. Plenty of free parking. Located in a remote area of Hendry county but worth the drive.

David White

Quite a treasure trove of information. Not as many artifacts as we had expected. We had also been expecting history before modern times and we found that lacking. Quite an excellent display and info of more recent history. Staff was friendly and attentive and knowledgable.

Karine Schoen

I really liked it because their museum is showing tradition clothing, a movie on how this tribe came to live in the Everglades hunted by white men, how they adapted and how they organized to thrive today. They also show about their current culture and economic system. Then there is a guided visit of the forest on a board walk and the guide will tell you a lot about the various species of plants and animals in the Everglades. Very instructive. I definitely recommend it.

Really nice museum! Come and take a peek into the history and culture and life of the Seminole Indians. It's set up very nicely, with both indoor and outdoor exhibits, as well as a movie projected across 5 screens. If you're in the area and curious about local history, you'll enjoy stopping by and taking it all in. The mile-long boardwalk winding through the woods in the outdoor exhibit is also just very refreshing to enjoy and take your time with.

Crystal Wolz

Blown away on how awesome this place was. Was expecting something on the hokey side. Nope. Awesome. Its a long way out in the swamp though and not anywhere to eat so pack some snacks.

Joshua Lohn

Very educational

Nice museum. A little out of the way but worth it. The boardwalk is nice but not too much to see. The $10 admission is more than fair.

The tribe has done an outstanding job combining different media with historical and modern day pieces to tell their story. The museum is combined with a nice boardwalk through trees and historical sites with tribal members showing and telling a story of long ago and a story of life today.

Lily Rubino

We had a wonderful day at the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum! The drive from Delray eventually turned off into the Everglades with lots of bird life and alligators basking by the road for the kids to spot. The museum attendants were friendly and helpful and also gave good recommendations for local places on the Seminole reservation to eat after our visit (there is no cafe at the museum- but you can bring food as there is a picnic table area!). The museum itself was very well done with a focus on oral history and "in their own words" explanations of life for the Seminoles. The bead work exhibit was stunning and the artistry of the pieces impressive. We also watched a fascinating historical intro. video about the Seminoles who were able to live deep in the Everglades to avoid being captured and moved off their land. The boardwalk was wonderful with many plaques explaining how the local flora and fauna were used by the Seminoles. TIP: Be sure to call ahead or check the website to see when the artisans and demonstrations in the living village will be there AND don't forget to take a look at the 24/7 boardwalk camera which shows which critters have crossed its path recently (including panthers!).

(Translated by Google) A good place to learn about the history of the Indians in Florida. Admission 10 euros (reduced 7.50 euros). An English-language film (15min) at the beginning. Therefore, English skills are clearly of advantage. The museum is air conditioned. It quickly gives you an overview of the history and life of the Indians at the time. The walk outside through the "forest" is several hundred meters long. It can be sweaty when it's hot. But there are many explanations and stand. Unfortunately everything in English. A German audio guide over a phone number did not work with our prepaid cell phones. (no net?) Then you should also drive in the safari park 3 miles away. Good to find ib google maps and much for free to view. Children are sure to love the many animals. Leider alles in Englisch.

Kelly Warner

Excellent facility, very nice boardwalk. Lots of educational history material; friendly staff. We definitely enjoyed our visit to the region!

Luba B

Well worth a drive. I saw their ads in Ft Lauderdale but they're actually a few hours from the city. I really enjoyed how interactive the museum is. Was also cool to see the living village, refreshing after mostly spotting ghost towns while traveling. The area itself is just very clean, from the convenience store to the gas stations. Highly recommend, especially for those who are visual learners.

A Google User

Excellent museum in all the ways already mentioned. I loved the first hand written accounts from tribal elders, credited to them by name. Also thought the little interactive board where you pack a native travel pack, by order of necessity and space was neat. Items were numbered by order of necessity.

Anthony Foulfoin

This museum is very small, and the visit is done really quick. But the exhibition is interesting

Nice museum about the origins of the native Americans living in the associated reserve. Closing times are early in the afternoon unfortunately, especially if you made a detour specifically to visit it. Features and interesting multimedia presentation and mannequin displays of live in the reserve.

Tanya Cliff

Beautiful. Educational. Wonderful people. And near the best restaurant burger i ever had, at a tiny diner inside a mini mart.

Amy Springer

Beautifully done museum, living village and boardwalk trail honoring the Seminole tribe with accounts of oral history and a library archive. There is also a gift shop.

Douglas Strickland

I love everything related to the Everglades and the Seminole Tribe. If the smoldering fire in front of the museum doesn't put you in the right frame of mind, then nothing will. This place was much more than I expected. Absolutely worth your time to visit. Be sure to visit the people in the village.

Oscar G

Excellent place to visit to learn more about Seminole history. Learned more about the Seminole tribe than anywhere else would highly recommend a tour on a Saturday.

JS W

A very interesting place to spend an afternoon and learn about a part of Florida history and culture that is often overlooked. Very well put together museum. Out of the way, but we'll worth a stop for a few hours. And a really nice boardwalk through a part of Big Cypress. Really pleasant and relaxing, with neat Seminole village examples.

This is an outstanding small museum! I enjoyed learning about traditional (circa late 19th century) Seminole culture and lifestyle, as well as what life is like on the Seminole reservations today. There is also a long and very interesting nature trail (boardwalk) behind the museum, which takes at least 30 minutes to walk, and much longer if you stop to read all the signs and listen to the audio tour. This is one of my favorite museums in south Florida.

Matthew Burns

Uber-cool experience for a northern guy who had never been on a reservation before. My son and I learned a ton about the Seminole history, life and survival in a changing Florida. This is worth he drive from Ft. Lauderdale or Miami.

The museum contains some wonderful exhibits which lends to a great experience. The exhibits are professionally created with meticulous detail. The boardwalk provides an excellent outdoor complement to the indoor exhibits. The gift shop provides some wonderful and original gift ideas that are out of the ordinary.

Larry Kime

No "WOW". It was a pleasant visit. When combined with Billy's Swamp Safari just down the street makes for a good road trip. Very clean, very modern facility. Very well taken care of. Best part of the visit is learning that the Seminole's are true survivors able to adapt to their environment.

Valeria K

Unexpectedly impressive for such a small museum!

Pam Scott

Informative video to start, then life size exhibits. Also a boardwalk with exhibits over the swamp. Ample parking and clean restrooms.

Sophie Moseley

I have wanted to visit here for the last three years, so I was so excited to eventually get here. It was so beautiful, the staff were wonderful and the whole place was brimming with information. Unfortunately as soon as I entered the museum some strange sort of migraine descended on me and didn’t leave until we left Clewiston, so I couldn’t see much in the museum, boardwalk or the store. Which maybe is lucky as I probably would have spent a fortune. So I look forward to returning to Clewiston to enjoy everything I missed this time.

Jes Mendez

I loved the museum. I didn't love how rushed our tour guide was. Our tour guide has us practically running through the board walk during the field trip, kept counting down for kids to rush and sit down. That made it not enjoyable. But the museum itself is wonderful.

Gary P Sutton

Learnt alot good info great place.
