REVIEWS OF Brandywine Battlefield Park Associates IN Delaware

Steve Gotzler

It is a beautiful park. However there is almost no explanation for what happened where. Gettysburg does a much better job.

Stacey R. Van Keuren

Great tour. Visitor Center has an excellent movie, good display museum, and a well stocked shop. My teen wants an officer's sword.

James J. Colgan III

Nice little museum. Headquarters tours are available, and a witness tree stands outside the Layfette headquarters. The battlefield park is only a small part of the Battle of Brandywine location. Do a search for the Brandywine battlefield tour to drive around the areas of the large battlefield. The Birmingham Meetinghouse is a nice location that is central to the actual location of the battle.

Went to honor Washington's Birthday but did not realize it was closed for the winter, walked around a little bit.

Cool place to have a picnic

Just an open field. Maybe if I visit it during one of the performances might have been more interesting. Lot of history happened there, but now there are only 2 houses and a big field.

Gary Sporer

Small state park and museum. Low-cost and well worth the stop.

Michael Spencer

Is peaceful there...and to think this countryside was a battlefield at one point in the history of this nation.

Nathaniel Lee

The park has managed to preserve a couple delightful homes to help tell the story of the Brandywine conflict, but the conflict didn't really take place in the park. Instead, most of the Revolutionary War battlefield is now covered by suburban Philadelphia sprawl. I recommend driving along the battlefield tour route to get a better mental picture of the conflict.

Cheryl Hartnett

Friendly visitor center with helpful staff. admission to museum was affordable

Justa GoodOlBoy

A very informative tour through a location that is steeped in Revolutionary War history! Not being my first time through, I reintroduced myself to the staff and made sure to take a tour of the Christian Sanderson house, which was used as Washington's headquarters during the battle of Brandywine. Great staff, amazing history, a must visit it you into Revolutionary War history and should be included with your travel plans in and around Philadelphia. Well worth the travel in and out. Beautiful picturesque vistas makes the drive worth while!

Great place to learn about the largest land battle of the American Revolution.

great and a fun historical battlefield in pa.But they try to make it look like a national park and one of the houses wasn't the best restored to what it looked like at least on the inside the outside was fine

Fred Fillingham

Saw the house Lafayette lived in next door to Washington before they lost the battle of Brandywine and had to retreat (I think) to Valley Forge.

Small, but nice. The young man took us to visit the one building even though it was past the time....very accommodating.

Gordon Horn

Great place, but the cheap taxpayers need to dig into their sorry ass pockets and spend more on their parks. Nice things cost money. "More parks less drugs and children"

Terry McPartland

Great video. Park still has a take you back feel.

Wonderful!! Very informative video and museum tour. Everything is AWESOME!, Very grateful to live in the United States of America!!

For one of the largest battles during the Revolution, thee is surprisingly little to do here. I had expected at least some interpretive walking trails. But the park and museum are nice. The guides for the historic houses are informed and the houses themselves are interesting.

Lisa Starr

Small, pretty, picnic tables, but not a lot to see

Historical battlefield and cemetery.

The story is told about an under-reported American Revolution battle. The Visitor Center has a short video about the battle, and a room with artifacts. There is a small fee.

Bonnie Mauloni

Cool place, bathrooms not close but some history to learn here.

Joseph Giacalone

A great piece of American History, but no access or monuments to the battlefield. I think PA is missing out on some of the tourists you see at other Revolutionary War battlefields, like Saratoga, NY.

Ron Hirneisen

Very interesting history explained brilliantly by the interpreter on Sunday. Convenient travel from visitor center to each historic home.

Judith Lutz

Movie very good review of history

Robert Heisler

Very educational. The downside was that their wasn't much of a selection for nourishment on a hot day.

They could maintain the grounds a little better

Well designed museum and informative house tours. Lots of daycamps for kids to reenact history and play Revolutionary soldiers for the day. Amazing gift store too.

This was a great experiance for us and our young guests. Lovely picnic area, (for warmer days) interactive museum, and guided tours of period buildings. The gift shop offers lots of options to browse. Books, period crafts, games, and tools are availabke for purchase. The guides were informative, patient, and engaging. Be sure to check for days and hour of operations. As it is a national monument, cutbacks have had an impact on their availability to keep operations as they once were.

Luke DeMusz

When you really think about how cool it is to literally walk in the same spots President Washington and General Lafeyette both lived perserved in original form quite breathtaking!

Stephen Pomraning

Accessible, but somewhat shabby Visitor Center. Be sure to view the video presentation in order to appreciate the significance of the battle. Was a strategic loss in the Revolutionary War. Other than two structures, not much to observe since the battle took place over all of the surrounding countryside, much of which is not part of the National Battlefield.

The museum had some interesting artifacts including props from the series "Turn." The ranger talk was very informative.

This is a small but very worthwhile site to visit where the largest battle of the American Revolution was fought. Two well preserved structures including the house where General Washington had his headquarters during the battle.

Shawn Higgins

Very good history lesson. Not much to see, but still worth the time.

Don Adams

The guide was very knowledgeable and added details not commonly known about the battle and property

Brad Schlegel

Had great time here last year. Excellent museum.
