The VRCM has an impressive collection of tech through the ages. It was far more interactive than I expected. You could dial a phone and hear it ring across the room or send Morse Code messages to another visitor. The layout was thoughtful and creative. I highly recommend it!

Rick Prescott

A lot of fun seeing the history of radios, communication and some TVs. The variety of inventions is amazing. Should take about one hour, plus. Staff is friendly and energetic. Definitely recommend.

Here you will find almost the entire history of the development of radio and wireless communication. The radios are nicely displayed and you can get a guided tour. If you are a radio ham, bring your license as there is a well equipped ham radio station. Go there and enjoy. I believe even non radio interested will enjoy a visit.

An amazing local find. While the catalogue of communications equipment is formidable, the real draw for me is the all volunteer staff of brilliant minds from a variety of technical fields and experience. A great place to spend a couple hours, even if you don't think you are in to olde tymey radios and sound equipment. Facinating museum, nothing else quite like it around here.

Igor Eremin

This is a 6star museum for sure. It is an incredible collection of what some might call junk, that has been classified, loved, repaired and tended to create a historic timeline of electronics, communication, theatre, radio and more. The guided tour is the best, and the guide is so excited, it is almost too much information. These guys know their stuff and are so very excited to share all they have to offer. This place needs to be on the map for all museum goers and history buffs. there is so much that it boggles the mind to start to list things in the review. So I will list a few and there are so many more. Imagine getting to play music on an original Edison Phonograph. with wax recordings. Then step up to the second model Edison created in the thirties and listen to the improvement. Then step up the the next level with thick records and learn how they were created and listen again. If I only got that part of the tour I would have been ecstatic and happily overwhelmed. But the history and stories continued about theatre and projection. the first projectors and the meaning of lime light. How traveling movies were the rage in the twenties and what got peoples attention. and on and on and on Any way I describe it, this is a wow wow wow museum and I loved it.

Amal Prakash

Great displays, knowledgeable friendly guide, just a wonderful place to learn about communication, especially radio. Highly recommended for all ages.

Michael Laferriere

As nice as it is to see functioned antique radio, television, telephony, morse etc equipment its even better to interact with the staff. They are volunteers and really love showing off the old equipment. You wont find more motivated people than these! They make the tours fun, interactive and they are quick to answer your questions! As a former Radio Shack employee it was great to see some of the products still in everyday use. A lot of the stuff back in the day was built to last better than today's disposable electronics. Of particular note was an old 9V Radio Shack battery, not the cheap red batteries we used to give out with the battery of the month cards but one of the even earlier 'premium' 9Vs! If I was going to deduct a star it would be that these devices are also used as a resource, sold off, split up, parted out etc. They are not making these antiques anymore. But its good to see them used and shown!

Kathy Miller

Bernie the tour guide was wonderful! Taught so much about the history of communications
